I love small hole in the wall, non-chain restaurants. First time here but definitely not my last. This place has some great tasting hard shell tacos dripping with some of the best home made salsa. I've been frequenting the Placentia area a lot more recently and was craving a good torta. I found this place so I had to check it out! Here's what I've tried so far: **Asada Taco: The taco was a little bland. It was also topped with pico de gallo. Definitely a different style but they were very generous with the meats. (3/5) **Carnitas Torta: This was easily the best torta I've had in a very long time. Very generous on the carnitas and it was also very delicious. Loved the pico de gallo on top along with the other veggies. Definitely a steal for the price. (4/5) Waited around 5 minutes after placing an order for takeout which wasn't too bad at all. The woman at the front was super friendly and served everyone with a huge smile. I won't be back for the tacos but will definitely try more of the tortas. read more

First time visiting in 16 years. Plenty of competition around and a backwards drive through (everything in and out the passenger door). Staff was friendly. You do have to drive up to the window to order as there is no drive through box. It is a bit on the slower side but worth it, food was tasty. The tacos were ginormous! Fully loaded it comes with refried beans at the bottom. Love the large fresh tomato in it and it was a very filling option. I also picked up some bean and cheese burritos. I ordered the burrito de asada, it was really good and full of flavor. I also tried one of their tortas, and while it's not your typical sandwich style torta (the bread wasn't sliced like a regular torta), it was still loaded with meat and super tasty. Overall, solid spot. read more

Was referred here by a local Golf bro we got paired up with while playing Fullerton Golf course. He swore their tacos de Chicharron were legit. Man it was totally worth the stop. I got a Taco de Chicharron so yummy. Also had a Torta de Carnitas, gotta say ill def be back for those 2 things. They use a different type of bread for their Tortas. This place was a massive disappointment. Ordered an all-meat carne asada burrito and what I got was full of so much pico de Gallo and refried beans that it was waterlogged. This spot is the only (technically) Mex fast food spot in old town p town. Wts, their prices can creep up quick on certain orders, so watch yourself with the add ons and sides. I was introduced to this small wonder of Mexican food over 25 years ago. This place has been a family tradition and favorite. My go to is torta de carnitas . The meat has always been seasoned with plenty care , soft and tender, the sauce- pico de gallo is the icing on top. I travel to get to this place.... Looks do deceive. Flautas plate looked really good, but Flautas did not seem freshly made. Tortilla was hard to chew. Chicken was dry and had no flavor. Even with allthe sauce on top and Pico de gallo and hot sauce. So disappointed. read more

this place is more like a 3.5 stars out of 5 stars. so, i wanted to get El Farolito right down the street, but it was way too crowded. i already parked so i wanted to find something nearby. luckily this place wasn't too far away. we ended up getting a carne asada torta, carnitas burrito and an al pastor taco. the best item was the burrito. the meat worked really well with the beans inside. the al pastor was kinda different, it was adovada, which i never had before. they said it was similar but more juicy. i actually prefer regular al pastor that comes from the spit. the weirdest item was the torta.... typically when i get tortas from other places, its like a sandwich. (i assume that if you name your place after torta, your tortas must be really good) however, they serve it to you in like a half cut french roll, which i find really weird. they also have green and red sauce if you ask. the red wasn't too spicy, but i much prefer the green sauce. the place is kinda small. there are only like 7 tables inside, and some tables outside. read more

Awwww yeaaaa. Looking for a cheap alternative to what is being offered at El Farolito or El Cantarito? Come on over! Hubby and my go-to drug -- I mean, snack -- is the chips and cheese. It's purely just tortilla chips with melted cheese on top of it, but it's just crack to us. The hamburgers are really good, and they are definitely built according to their weight (1/4 lb, 1/3 lb, 1/2lb); only thing we don't really about the hamburgers is that it's pretty gross on the second day if you don't finish it that initial day. Just soggy, no flavor, can't hold itself up, etc. Burritos are good, and tacos are okay. With the above being said, Q-Tortas is not gourmet food. This is like the fast food version of El Farolito or El Cantarito, and I guess it could be considered "crap" food because you'll likely get noooo kind of nutritional value of any sort. But, if you need food, it'll hit your cravings, it's cheap, and it's quick enough. read more

Been coming here since I was a kid, decided to go today and usually there is a whole jalapeño next to torta inside the aluminum. There was nothing so I decided to drive back to get it and the lady that works there didn't bother helping at all, she told me the jalapeño and salsa where inside of the torta. I was so confuse. Food is still really good but I find that service has become really slow. Update: Just opened up my order at home. The shredded beef (barbacoa) burrito that I ordered wasn't there but there was a bean and cheese burrito with ground beef in it. LOL. The girl taking the order showed me her notebook when I was ordering, and I saw that she had written the order down perfectly. Having eaten there before, I knew how amazing their carnitas are so I ordered food for a large family get together and of course- the food was amazing. The gal taking my order was extremely friendly. When the order was ready, another gal double checked everything. I was happy she took the time to do it, but f course it was all there from the start. The carnitas are killer. This update is long overdue. I have been coming to Q Tortas my whole life, literally. This has been my family's go-to place to bring anyone visiting (as it is right down the street from their house). The food is simple, no frills, extras etc. but if you're in the mood for some tasty quick Mexican food this is the place.
