I loved Togo's sandwiches in my younger days, but I have kind of gotten away from sandwiches in general lately. I have always really liked their distinctive inclusion of pepperoncini peppers in almost all sandwiches. I was in the rare mood for a sandwich, so I stopped by the Brea Togo's to pick up a sandwich to go. This location is conveniently situated right on the corner off Imperial Highway, with a few other businesses in the same building. They have a small patio area out front with a few tables, one with an umbrella. The inside was very clean with a good amount of seating for a smaller shop. The walls are a vibrant orange color, and the large backlit Togo's sign on the back wall really caught my eye. I arrived around 6:30pm on a weeknight as they were preparing to close for the evening. I'm guessing it was the owner behind the counter who greeted me while he was putting together a sandwich. He was very cheery and personable, which immediately gave me a positive impression of the shop. I ordered a cold roast beef sandwich on whole wheat bread, and I added swiss cheese. While he was making my sandwich, I mentioned that I really like the pepperoncini peppers to which he replied "Extra pepperoncinis for you!" which I appreciated. For an extra $3.75, I upgraded from regular size to a large so I'd have half for later. I went home and immediately ate half of the sandwich. It had a good amount of ingredients, and they were all very fresh. I love roast beef and swiss, and it was very good, especially with the extra peppers. Their prices are reasonable and they have a good variety of hot and cold sandwiches. Service was great and I really enjoyed the glowing personality of the owner. I will be returning more often after this visit.

Italian sandwich #16 The Italian - 9" Large

Noticed Togos while making a u turn to head to my Providence appointment. Figure I'd stop by afterwards. I had not been to a Togos in a while since the ones closer to me have closed down. I walk in and noticed the facility was very clean. Greeted by staff with a smile. One thing that caught my attention was the music. I love it. I love listening to great music while I have my meal. Since I have not been here in a while, I had to really scan the menu and figured a nice Italian sandwich will do (#16). The white bread was soft, the ratio of meat vs bread was perfect. It was soft delicious. I have 7 more appointments so will definitely be coming back next Monday and bringing my wife too. Thank you so much.

I wanna start off by saying I haven't had Togo's since high school. And it taste just like I remember, delicious. enerous, high-quality ingredients, Togo's for "fresh with a capital F" ingredients: lean meats sliced daily, hand‑scooped avocado, crisp produce, and soft bread with that just‑baked aroma . Custom Sub Options -- Classics like the Italian, Turkey & Avocado, and Hot Pastrami (#9) are popular. The Italian is a lot of meat in a 6‑inch sub, more than you'd find in a similar footlong from Subway"

Bottom Line Up Front: If you like Greek food but don't want…read moreto pay big bucks at an traditional sit-down restaurant, Apola can be your yummy, budget-friendly alternative. The Food: Let me start by saying this is clearly an American take on Greek food, so if you're looking for super authentic food, look elsewhere. But if you're OK with a fusion, Apola will satisfy your Mediterranean craving. There are gyros (pita wraps), bowls, combo plates, and burritos (see, there's that American take I was talking about). All of them range in quality from average to really good. Though I've been here several times, I'll focus on my last visit when we got "the Works" pita wrap and a Greek salad bowl. For the Works, it comes with all the fixings, your choice of protein, and fries stuffed inside (yes, inside, not as a side). I chose beef-and-lamb gyro meat, which came in a huge portion. (Pro Tip: I pulled the fries out and got a "free" side. Of course , there's not a lot of fries, but enough to satisfy my fried food craving.) The gyro was big and tasty. For the Greek salad bowl, we also got beef-and-lamb gyro meat. Once again, they hooked it up with the quantity. Nice! The ingredients (tomatoes, cucumber, feta, etc) were all fresh and seasoned nicely. Side note: I do find it odd that they call this dish a salad bowl when it comes in a rectangular plastic tray. But semantics aside, it was quite good. I also ordered a fountain drink and got a Coke. It was nice a crisp with a lot of carbonation. Just the way I like it. It's not as good as the exclusive Coke blend at McDonald's, but was a close second. I have had some pretty watered down Cokes at other places in recent years. The Service: There were two young gentlemen working the last time I visited, and they were both friendly and knowledgeable. They even brought our meals to our table, which was a nice touch for a fast food establishment. The Setting: It's located inside the recently revamped Yorba Linda Downtown, which has revitalized the area and made it a pleasant place to hang out. Unfortunately, on weekends, it's hard to find parking sometimes. Fortunately we came on a weekday and got parking nearby. Inside, Apola is clean and tidy with roughly enough tables and chairs for a variety of party sizes. The Conclusion: Apola offers good Mediterranean-inspired food for a reasonable price (compared to other restaurants these days) -- just don't expect it to be 100% authentic Greek food. It's not perfect and not super cheap, but with the right expectations set, I plan to return on semi-regular basis.

The menu has a nice variety of breakfast/brunch items ranging from hearty burritos to burgers and eggs Benedict. When I spotted cheddar chive biscuits and gravy on the menu, I knew I'd have to try them, because well, comfort food! To add more nutritional value to it I add 2 over easy eggs and a side of sausage to round out my meal. The biscuits were light and fluffy and the cheddar and chives added an extra layer of flavor; topped with a generous serving of nicely seasoned gravy, I was in comfort food heaven. They correctly guessed that I was going to layer the eggs onto the biscuits, and they thoughtfully did that for me. The only thing that I wasn't expecting was for the sausage to be a patty instead of links, which I prefer. Ordering was easily done at the counter and your order is brought to your table when it's ready. The guy working the front was friendly and helpful in answering questions. The restaurant itself has a nice and clean dining room that is arranged nicely without feeling crowded. It would be a nice place to work or study a bit after your meal. So I was pretty happy with my first visit to EggBred in Placentia. Next time I have my eye on a build a Benny.
