Recently, I have moved back to MN from NV. One of the joys in life that I had never realized that I had lived without was In-N-Out. That being said, I may have found my new MN fast food burger home! The junior cheeseburger was much larger than anything I needed to eat on Saturday and the options for FREE toppings made my beating heart still for a few moments. The toppings also made room for creativity, which In-N-Out lacks, including green peppers on a burger?? Strange, but DELICIOUS! I really liked the burger, and since I like mine with minimalist toppings (mustard, pickle) that means I'm complimenting the burger and not a bunch of toppings. But, not a big fan of the fries. I know many of you think I'm nuts. But at least on my night the fryer must have had old oil, and I thought they tasted burnt and greasy--And they didn't make up for that by the huge volume in the bag. The first time I went I made the mistake of ordering a little cheeseburger -- the meat covered about half the bun. But I learned my lesson and have since devoured a few regular (double) burgers and they are excellent. The fries are the real highlight for me at Five Guys. Piping hot, flaky potato and crisp exterior. You just can't beat them. Another highlight of Five Guys is the friendly service. When your number is called a very friendly person looks you in the eye and thanks you for eating at Five Guys. I love a good Cheeseburger. I've got simple tastes when it comes to burgers. I don't care for a burger that's loaded down with toppings. Give me meat, cheese, a bun, and on occasion toss a few strips of bacon on there. At Five guys you have a large selection of toppings to choose from, but as the burgers are all made fresh to order, a plain cheeseburger works just fine. The burger itself is thick and juicy, while not overly greasy, which is my chief issue with the other high end fast food burger joint that has moved into the area, Smashburger. The fries are fresh cut, come steaming hot and golden brown. The portions are huge. I've never been able to finish them. One slight complaint is last time I went they tasted a bit off. Perhaps the oil needed to be changed. In terms of service, the line to order moves quickly, and generally your food is ready in a couple of minutes. They also have free peanuts in the shell to eat as you wait. The place has been packed each time I've been, and the layout is pretty tight as well, so seating can be a bit of a problem. Parking is also an issue, but there is a ramp across the street. Overall, for fast food, this place is about as good as it gets, with a burger that stacks up well against anything else I've had. read more

The burger, not much to say, I thought it was like a Dairy Queen bugger, but a lot better. I like the customization of toppings, I went with pickles, jalepenos, and BBQ sauce. It was tasty The big thing for this place was the fries. I went cajun style and my friend went regular, so I got to try both (and both are good). If you like a good size cut fry that is served super hot and soft (this are NOT crunchy fries), then these might be some of the best i've had so far. Amazing! I've tried Five Guys in Arizona and was so disappointed that I avoided the restaurant. We were craving a burger and read the good reviews so we figured we give it a try. One of the best burgers I've ever had. Why you may ask. The meat tastes so good. Not too greasy. Not plain without flavor like Red Robin or other burger places. Just, perfect. Five Guys makes a very good burger. Personally, I still prefer In N' Out, but seeing as there are no In N' Outs in Minnesota, Five Guys is the ONLY other burger place I am willing to go to. Five Guys' burgers aren't life changing, but they are very good. The employees are competent and skilfully negotiate long lines of customers in a reasonable amount of time. Their Cajun fries are the best fast food fries I have had yet. They are a little pricey for fast food, but given the quantity of food you are given and the quality sourcing of their ingredient's, the prices are reasonable. My only criticism is that parking at the Edina location is extremely difficult to come by with many of the open spots reserved for customers of the other nearby establishments. If you want a fast food burger and fries and you live in Minnesota don't waste your time or money by going anywhere other than Five Guys. read more

I live in CA now, but this was the first 5-guys I've ever been to and I LOVE it. The staff is a bunch of high school age kids that are very nice and fun to deal with. The burgers are GREAT. A+. The fries are okay. I don't love them, but they definitely aren't bad. Customer service and great burgers for the price gets 5 stars. :) read more

Let me tell you about this location. This location is on point! I've never had an issue with my food being fresh and just the way I like it I went in yesterday and Parker helped me he was kind respectful fast and he didn't miss a beat I like going places where the environment is positive the food is good and it's well worth The drive this is the only five guys that I will go to even though I live in Bloomington the cook I didn't get his name but he was on it orders were flying and I'm talking online orders to pick ups to walk-ins they had the food fast out and ready for everyone. Considering the pandemic I would think that they would be a lot slower especially with only two people but nope the Hispanic cook and Parker were awesome they should honestly get a raise they were so good that I purchased a soda after buying my food just like to give them a tip read more

A group of my co-workers and I are on a Burger Tour of the Twin Cities. When our work schedules permit, we enjoy heading out to try burger joints based on individual recommendations or what we've read in the press. The recent article in the Strib lead us to Five Guys with little to expect other than what was on the website. As many have reported, arriving ahead of the rush is highly recommended or else you'll be standing in line. Unfortunately for me, I stood in line. They supply some peanuts in the shells to eat while you wait, although my daughter found the discarded shells on the ground to be a sign of uncleanliness. The menu was very basic - burgers and a couple other sandwich types. What sets the restaurant apart is the toppings. There were plenty of them and they were fresh. The service was pretty fast, considering the volume of customers. What was surprising is that the fries weren't all that hot. With so many people coming in the door when I arived, not to mention those seated, I would have expected much hotter fries. They were tasty, but no tastier than the Convention Grill. The burger was unexceptional - other than the toppings. Local places like the Convention Grill, the 5-8 Grill, and Matt's Bar are much better. In short, if I'm in the neighborhood, I'd stop by. It beats McDonalds. I wouldn't make a special trip, though. Oh, one regular order of fries is more than enough for two people. The junior burger is also plenty big enough for the average diner. read more

Five Guys is the closest thing Minnesotans will get to In-n-Out Burger. They've obviously copied many of In-n-Out's features, from the way they cook burgers to the dozens of workers behind the counter to the decor itself (red/white, only yellow is missing). Five Guys has the peanuts and they advertise the origin of that day's patch of potatoes used to make the fries. But it's basically trying to be In-n-Out. And you know what? I'm OK with that. Stopped in for lunch today 5 minutes after they opened and met with a line practcally out the door... Man, was it worth it! The line moved quickly and I was able to watch as they prepared burger after burger (never did see anyone order a dog). The food came quickly and was buried under a pile of perfectly cooked fries. I got the Cajun fries and they were hot, tasty and a bit spicy. I tried my friend's "plain" fries and I was glad I got the Cajun ones! Numm. So I love five guys, I truly do. However this location has been so inconsistent with the quality they put out. Other days it's good, but today it's so bad. Fries, some are lukewarm and some are hot. It tastes as though they mixed old fries with freshly cooked ones. My burger is good. BIGGEST complaint is that I want grilled onions, not raw chopped onions. It honestly sucks. But 3 stars bc they have their good days. I just wish the team as a whole was consistent throughout. read more

I like burgers, so I had to hit up 5 Guys once one opened near my house. I have to say I'm impressed. I like very basic burgers that use quality ingredients instead of gimmicks (i.e. Flamethrower burger, Monster burger, etc). 5 Guys is definitely not the best burger I've ever had but it is totally legit. Everything seemed fresh and consistent between the times I've eaten there. The people are friendly and the service is good. Seating isn't ideal, but I just go at off times to make sure it's not flowing out the door. The "little" burger is plenty big and a "regular" order of fries is plenty for 2 people to split. The fries aren't fantastic, but they're definitely not bad. I would be interested to see how 5 Guys stacks up to In-n-out, but we don't have those in MSP. I still have to give Lions Tap the nod for the best burgers around here, but if I'm a fast food type situation and need a burger, 5 Guys is a great option. read more

MMM. Five guys. They undeniably have very uniquely cut french fries and a variety of hamburger menu to choose from. I splurge on Five Guys when I want a little more than McDonald's. Their hamburgers are juicier, thicker, and taste like home-grilled burgers. Although at this particular location, I have had burgers with their patties soggy and paper-y, that was just a minor issue. Everything else was satisfying ingredients-wise. All in all, it is a great substantial burger choice. read more

I had to go there recently with a big order where everything was different! Each burger was perfect and incredibly tasty!! As, I might add, they ALWAYS ARE! Then the helpful lady put the order in a large bag for easier carrying & tossed in extra catsup, mustard & napkins. All the time smiling!! BTW. Don't forget to tip. I see too many customers pocketing their change. In a regular restaurant, you tip basically to the person who DELIVERS your food. I think tipping these "Guys" who ACTUALLY PREPARE your food is very appropriate...and I am sure would be very appropriated. For a GREAT BURGER, COME HERE You won't be disappointed! I have now visited Five Guys in Edina twice. In my first visit, the line was out the door as Five Guys was still in their Krispy-Kreme-frenzy-phase. My first visit was a 3 star visit. 2nd visit was 1 star. They claim their burgers are juicy, but they always over cook them. On my 2nd visit, they didn't even melt the friggen cheese. You get a lot of food for the $9-$10 you spend, and their fries are good, but this place is a tad overrated. For all the award they tout, the people in Edina must be cooking the burgers wrong. I'd probably visit back once in a while, but Smashburger is way better. read more

I kept driving by this place licking my lips anticipating the opening date in April. My lofty expectations were met in my first visit to this unique burger joint. I am a huge fan of the fresh cut french fries and the hot sauce on a burger. I definitely recommend getting the cajun seasoning on the fries. The prices are great for the portion size, and the staff seemed energized and friendly. I'm not impressed with the seating arrangements indoor. It looks and feels as though they crammed as many chairs and tables into the small area as they could. Regardless, I will be back soon. Enjoy! read more

Given my love affair with all things burgery, me & the hubs checked this place out on Friday. I am a huge In-and-Out fan, so the bar was set fairly high. The place was packed when we arrived, but the line moved fast. There were so many people eating at the tables, it looked like ants! As previously stated, the menu is basic. I ordered the small hamburger and hubs got the regular - we split small fries. The portions are large - we certainly had enough food. The fries were the best part - I love hand cut fries. My burger was good, but not enough to pine for one. The bun was almost too much - my last few bites where just bun. Hubs enjoyed his double burger, and gave me the nondescript "yeah, it was good". Not a "great" or some other incoherent noise (which is usually associated with food Deity). So, if your nearby and want something instead of McD's, check it out. This is a restaurant I'm glad doesn't exist within walking distance of my house. It's fast food at its best - simple but extremely tasty. They hand grind their hamburgers using never frozen beef and cut their own fries. I never thought I'd say it, but these are both better than I can make at home. Split the fries when you go, there's no way one person can eat a hamburger and a whole order of fries alone. Definitely the only fast food I would drive from uptown to Edina to get. read more

I had my first Five Guys experience when I visited my family in Philly this past Christmas. I started chatting with the manager, who told me the Twin Cities still didn't have a location yet and that I should open one myself. Looks like someone else (with money I don't have) beat me to it... Five Guys is the "almost In-and-Out", for those who've had it out in CA - much fresher, stripped-down version of your typical fast food burger joint. Burgers are simple but flavorful...and just the right size, at least for me. Handcut fries - regular seasoned or cajun - are a must-have. In a town that's home to Juicy Lucys, the Bulldog (Truffle Burger!) and tons of other established burger institutions, Five Guys has some very stiff competition for best burger... but it certainly does provide an upgrade from the Big 'N Tasty at McDonald's... read more

What a busy burger joint. I don't really get what the fuss is all about, but I will say they have awesome fries. You can have it salted, unsalted, seasoned, whatever. I like the fact that you can choose what you want. As for the burgers...I feel like we could just grill out and it'd taste the same. The prices were pretty good, I'd have to say. The "regular" fries are a pretty good portion for 2 people. All in all, if you're looking for fresh, fast, cheap, and decent burgers, come here. read more

I love Five Guys!! The first time I went here I had the regular burger and it was HUGE. I was so full it was really really good. The next time I went I had the little burger and that was just perfect. The fries are the best they are hand cut and just perfect, the cajun ones are really good too, and not to spicy. I love that they give props to where the potatoes came from on the white board. It is wonderful to know that the potatoes are from local farms.
