The Good? Nostalgia. I used to bring my boys here when they were kids. Other times I would bring my then wife when we had date nights before a movie. The room feels just like it did 15 or more years ago. Service is good. The bad? Well the food is OK. It's got lots of competition and frankly most of them are better now. And the price here has gone a bit too high to justify the hefty price increase. I get it. Labor has gone up and so has food costs. But somehow others manage to do a noticeably better job. Just went to snuffys malt shop in Bloomington. The service was terrible. Dominique was rude, never smiled. Had an attitude. Never asked how we were. Asked us once if we needed something. When are sodas got low she didn't refill them. I had to asked another server. That server goes to our they looked up and gave me a dirty look. Then it took another 5 or 10 mins to get the soda. She asked mad, like we inconvenienced here and agin she dropped the sodas down hard and walked away angry. My husband had to flag her down to get the bill. He was holding the card and she just dropped off the bill fast and walked away. Again don't ask how things were. We saw her chatting with other servers and smiling but never smiled at any customers. We were going to buy a malt but decided to leave. We will never come back. If I could rate it zero stars I would. read more

We ordered our food to go as we had the dog in the car and it was too hot to leave him out there. The shakes were good, the burgers were ok- nothing outstanding - the fries and onion rings were good, but we ended up throwing half of them away because the portions were so big. Seems like the staff was all high school kids- they were great, friendly and upbeat. What got me was we ordered 2 burger patties for the dog- just the patties- and they charged me 17.00 for 2 patties. That was more than my entire meal. It was a little ridiculous. Snuffy's is a childhood classic. Went there several times as a kid and it holds a nostalgic factor for me. That being said. If you want a good burger, good sides and good malts. Drove and saw SNUFFYS and was immediately intrigued. My copilot and I knew this was the moment to pull the car over and give the Snuffs a shot. Dehydrated, exhausted and desperate for sustenance...we came inside. We were welcomed by the biggest smiles and seated instantly. When I say the burger dripped deliciousness and tasted like the heavens had opened up and a stream of sweet golden light was shining down...I'm not exaggerating. The service was AMAZING our waiter I think her name was Ami, was super nice. Me and my family were the last customers and normal that's a pain especially right before closing. But they didn't care, took amazing care of us. The food was very tasteful, I had the grilled cheese and that was super filling, all my other family members orders burgers and they said it tasted grate. We also had waffle fries to share as a table and those are also great. For a table of 4 plus 2 to go orders we only spent $56, which is amazing. Totally recommend great family spot. Fore sure going back, next time I'm in the a I've been to this location a couple of times. And once to the Bloomington one, their food is still great, but one Friday night I put in a to go order, and the fries serving was not what I was used to, the fries are meant for 2 people serving, and I pretty much got like a one person serving, I was very disappointed, and I would recommend to check your amount of fries before leaving, because you want to be receiving what you paid for. read more

The good: Thought it's been 10 years, and even though I don't live there, I miss the late, lamented Andy's Tap in Bloomington, MN. Snuffy's cheeseburger is damn close to Andy's burgers. Real good flavor. The malts are all top notch as well. The "eh" Like the late and not missed at all Beverly Hills Diner, Snuffy's gives you the fries first...then you wait for your burger. Why? Why do restaurants do this? Do they really want you to fill up on these first? Do they want to ensure they'll be cold by the time your burger/sandwich is ready? The bad: The servers are nice...when you can find them. They'll be doing their best to avoid you...until after the food has arrived, of course. And they'll be around when the bill is there, with a smile, to remind you of their polite nature so you forget they were essentially absent for a majority of your meal.
