    Cheeseburger

I came in from a recommendation for some co-workers. If to a cheeseburger with cheddar cheese (a few options) and a side of onion rings. I also got a chocolate banana shake to go. The burger was decent and I liked the onion ring. Definitely hit the spot for just a basic burger. The staff was friendly. The prices are good.

Burgers, onion rings and malts... oh boy! Little league heaven and a fun place to stop and eat. Service was fast and the food and drinks were exactly as expected. Enjoy!

Drove and saw SNUFFYS and was immediately intrigued. My copilot and I knew this was the moment to pull the car over and give the Snuffs a shot. Dehydrated, exhausted and desperate for sustenance...we came inside. We were welcomed by the biggest smiles and seated instantly. When I say the burger dripped deliciousness and tasted like the heavens had opened up and a stream of sweet golden light was shining down...I'm not exaggerating. Juicy with the perfect bun to meat ratio...thank you sweet Snuffy...thank you! PS I'll never forget the sound of the first crunch from the waffle fries and when the sweet, creamy malt touched my parched lips...the angels sang!

My untouched portion of waffle fries!

Nice family diner atmosphere. Patty melt was really good and so was the malt, and the service. I would definitely eat there again.

We got takeout on this occasion which was slick, albeit a bit tricky due to parking in the linden hills area by this restaurant. I got the turkey in the hills sandwich and the tomato soup. Both of these were hits and were a good amount of food too. My mom got the same sandwich with the chicken wild rice soup which wasn't as much of a hit as the tomato but was still decent and then my sister got a veg sandwich with the tomato soup. SPACE There are a few 4-tops on the patio in front, a handful of bar seats inside with a small, cozy indoor table footprint, and a handful of 2-3 tops on the back alley. SERVICE The bartender told us to go find a spot on the back alley, so we did - but not sure we did things right, as our server walked past us a few times without acknowledging us. Service was friendly but limited. DRINKS They had a nice cocktail menu, but I opted for an Aperol Spritz. My husband chose off their limited NA menu a lavender honey lemonade, and it was a bit too sweet for him. I'd love to see some mocktail options here! FOOD We just got a few shareables since we were heading to dinner after, but their sandwiches were making my husband's mouth water! We got: Pickle Brined Wings - amazing flavor, salty and dilly, but I would have liked quite a bit more char on them: they were pretty pale. Minnesota Sushi - my husband loved this! Served with Ritz crackers, and it's the perfect little shareable dip.

One waitperson seated us with menus, and then....nothing. After a while, a new waitperson arrived and informed us that she was taking over. She brought water and then left. After almost ten minutes, we flagged her down, and she came to take our orders. Two people in our party were interested in the taco offerings but said they couldn't tolerate "heat" and asked how spicy they were. The waitperson assured them that the dishes were not at all "hot" and were very tasty. Well, the tacos were too hot for them to eat. They mentioned that to the waitperson when she came around to ask the proverbial insincere question, "How are the first few bites?" The waitperson had no comment. More importantly, she didn't apologize, offer a replacement, or suggest another item that may be of interest. She just left. A party of seven, all ordering entrées, presents an opportunity for a nice tip. One would think that would motivate staff who work for tips to be accommodating, timely, and helpful. Not in this case. Oh, and the women's bathroom was dirty. Don't think we'll be back anytime soon.

At lunch,…read morethere can be a mad rush for their classic roast beef sandwich, but the staff handles the crowd with efficiency and detail. I was on the street in front of Clancy's when one of their customers was mis-identified as an officer of an organization that was terrorizing Minneapolis. It had nothing to do with Clancy's! As I tried to get to my car, people yelled the most obscene and disgusting epitaphs at the couple in front of me. I was just walking down Grand Avenue. They were even spitting at this innocent individual. As a liberal who marched for civil rights and against the war in Vietnam during the 1960s and 1970s, I was horrified. Blaming Clancy's is ignorant, and an integral part of how this country is dismantling. On one side is a meat market with a variety of cuts of steaks, lamb, and other meats, which all looked fresh and quite nice. They also have a variety of items such as canned goods, pasta, eggs, etc. on the shelves opposite the meat counter. The entire place is quite sunny, pleasant, and cozy. On the other side is the eat-in, take-out deli sandwiches, that are made to order. The quality of the ingredients is excellent. The bread is freshly made (crispy baguette type) and you have a choice of Roast Beef, Roast Turkey, Tuna Salad, Smoked Ham, or Corned Beef. All sandwiches are $16.50 each (including tax) and come with a choice of mayonnaise, spicy stone ground mustard, red leaf lettuce, thin sliced red onion, salt, pepper, oil, vinegar, raw grated horseradish, pickled jalapeno, and roasted bell pepper. The default includes all toppings so if you don't want everything, be sure to specify what you do NOT want. Surprisingly, they do not carry any diet soda, nor do they stock any national brands (only local pop). There is a large menu on the wall, and you order at the counter and pick up the order (no table service). The food was attractively presented, and very, very good. My only gripe (besides the lack of diet pop) is that it's on the expensive side for lunch. Two sandwiches, a couple of bags of chips, and a couple of cans of pop will easily top $40, although I'd say the quality is top-notch.
