We ate here before the British Arrow Awards. It's so nice to park once and get dinner and an event. We had a reservation (highly recommended) and were seated immediately. The menu has so many good things on it that I had a hard time choosing. I chose the salmon and our server indicated it was an excellent choice. I was not disappointed. It had a nice sear and the accompaniments contributed to a complimentary texture and flavor. We had a cookie skillet for dessert which was delicious. Service was excellent. The vibe in the restaurant is hip and fresh. The menu has extensive options to choose from. We loved the experience.

Great food and service! I highly recommend parking near the sculpture garden. My first visit here was interesting--Apple Maps led me to the back of the building instead! I absolutely loved the salmon; it was bursting with flavor. Usually, I don't finish my meals, but this one was so good I couldn't put my fork down. The salmon was a bit undercooked, so if you like yours more done, just ask your server.

I was really excited to try Cardamom for the first time, so we decided on a double date. We parked in the ramp and walked over. The ambiance was great--while the restaurant felt a bit smaller than I expected from the photos, it was still beautiful and inviting. We were seated quickly, given water, and then waited a bit before the server returned. When she finally came back for our drink order, we decided to put our appetizers in at the same time. We started with the Mezze Platter, Kale Garden Salad, Beet Salad, Raw Salmon Kibbeh, and Moroccan Cigars. Here's my breakdown: Mezze Platter - 6/10 The hummus was okay but definitely needed more oil. The baba ghanoush was good, but a few of the other dips lacked flavor--we didn't really go back to them after the first bite. Kale Garden Salad - 9.2/10 Fresh, well-balanced, and easily one of the highlights of the night. Beet Salad - 8/10 The pistachio dressing was delicious, though I wish the beets were a bit softer. Raw Salmon Kibbeh - 6.5/10 Unfortunately, the salmon flavor was barely noticeable. Moroccan Cigars - 7.2/10 I've had much better versions elsewhere. The shrimp didn't taste fully cooked, and the shrimp filling (instead of the traditional beef) felt a bit off. After finishing the appetizers, we waited quite a while before the server returned to take our entrée order. We ended up sharing two dishes: Lamb Shank - 7.5/10 The turmeric rice was okay but slightly al dente, which I'm not a fan of. The lamb itself was tough and could have benefitted from a longer cook time. Kabsa Chicken - 8/10 The couscous was fluffy and the chicken was juicy, but there were broken bones in the dish, which was concerning. Overall, I hate to say it, but the food didn't quite live up to my all-time Chef Daniel Del Prado favorites--Martina, Colita, Minari, and Porzana--which set a very high bar for me. Overall Food & Vibe: 7.2/10

Happened upon this cute cafe in the art center and it blew me away! We came for lunch so it wasn't crowded at all. Lots of light and a beautiful decor. MEZZE PLATTER (5/5) was the star here!! Honestly my friend and I could have JUST eaten that for lunch. I loved trying all the different sauces and each was so unique! Pitas were fresh and warm so we just kept stuffing ourselves with bread and toppings. The service was a little slow, and so by the time the main dish came out, I had left hardly any room. The red shakshuka (5/5) was beautiful and delicious. Took the rest home LOL 100% would recommend coming to Cardamom.

I stopped in to Cardamom after spending the afternoon wandering the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden and for the location, this was a very convenient spot. I ordered the kale garden salad and sundrop cocktail. The drink was refreshing and the salad was very filling. This was a perfect little lunch! The only reason why I'm giving it 4 stars is because when I got there, it took a while for me to get seated even though I was only one person and made eye contact with a few waiters. That kinda put me off, but otherwise the food was good.

I'm biased because I love a museum restaurant, but Cardamom takes the cake as the most beautiful one I've been to so far. The space is bright and open, and the patio area is almost completely shaded. We came on a Wednesday for lunch and were seated right away. The service was friendly and quick and the food didn't take too long to come out. I got the Chicken Shawarma Pita, which was more filling than it looks. The different textures came together nicely. The prices aren't too bad relative to being a museum restaurant either. Would definitely recommend after appreciating some art!

I was at the Walker for a later evening event & needed a little caffeine push. I checked online to see if they even offered cafe drinks (coffee, tea, etc) later at night & they do! I ended up placing my order online vs at the counter and it said 25-30 wait so I walked over at 8:25 to check on my order and they didn't even I know an online order came in, I told them what I ordered and told them I'd be back in about 5 minutes. My drink was ready when I came back but I think they made me a regular iced latte vs the Cardi Latte I ordered. It was still good. The place was semi busy for a Thursday night. A lot of people were between there and the Walker for the Free Thursday event. I'd for sure stop back in again next time I'm at the Walker.

Not much staff for everyone and don't get asked if I wanted water to start off. The staff are very warm and friendly. Very crowded and very warm due to it being controlled by the art museum. Ambiance is lacking the flare but it's good place to catch something to eat with friends or family members. Wait time is to take my order was approximately 15mins. Wait time for me to see my food less than 20min. The setting is very nature like. The water is self serve and at room temperature not cold enough. Tasty food.

Came in for brunch with a few other friends and we had a great time! We immediately got sat down for our reservation and were greeted by our waiter. We got the first round of drinks which took a little longer than expected, but we didn't mind. We all ended up sharing apps and mains and the food is absolutely delicious!! They do such a great job of adding everything together nicely and it was all so flavorful. My only complaint is that the service was very mediocre. While our waiter was very kind and helpful to us, they often disappeared, especially towards the end when we were done eating. Overall, food was great and the ambiance is very nice!! I would come back again!

Wow! So happy a local barista recommended Cardamom when I asked somewhere I NEED to try. Walking in I could feel it was going to be great. Glass windows on the sides so you can see in along with a great big bar area. Plenty of tables too. I was solo and quickly seated at a table. I basically asked the server to pick out what I should eat and she did a tremendous job. That Roasted beet salad is a must try! Between the depths of flavor and how everything paired so well together. Chicken kabob was seasoned perfect. Bed of sauce and yogurt was another perfect combo. Finally, the pistachio affogato was to die for. You best believe I drank that up after it had melted. No shame when the food is that good. Future Michy/James Beard no joke. Cardamom is a must!

What a stunning space attached to the Walker Art Center! It's definitely worth coming here for a bite or drink before or after the Walker, no matter the time of day. I hear they have an awesome brunch, and we loved getting a NA drink and snack here mid-afternoon. On popular days like weekends, free Thursday evenings at the Walker, and any British Arrow Awards day, I'd highly recommend making a rezy or putting your name in. We sat at the bar as walk-ins since it was pretty packed. The space is absolutely gorgeous! They did such a great job capturing the Mediterranean ambiance, and that goes for the food too. We got the hummus plate to share and snack on - it was so pretty and well-plated! We both opted for NA beverages and I enjoyed their hot chai. It's a bit more elevated, so expect the prices to reflect that. Oh, and definitely stop by in the nicer months to enjoy their outdoor patio!

I don't know how I had never been to Cardamom before! Before an afternoon visit to the walker we decided to go in for a brunch date and I already can't wait to go back! The French toast was so delicious and the Mezze platter was just as tasty as it was beautiful! Definitely order more pita bread for dipping! The drinks were also very good. The staff was friendly and was happy to answer all the questions I had about the Turkish inspired menu. The space is bright, beautiful and open with a patio and plenty of seating available. We did not have a wait at 11:30 brunch time but the restaurant was pretty full. A great spot to check out!

Cute and vibey place within MIA. The mezze platter had so much variety, the hummus was light and had great balance. The fried chicken pita was a little bland and dry. I ended up mostly just eating the chicken. The lamb burger wasn't too gamey and had a lot of flavor. The fried potatoes side portion was generous. However, the service was not very attentive. When the mezze platter hit the table we were trying to flag someone down to ask about an ingredient for a guest with allergies and it took 15 minutes, when there were only 3 tables of patrons at the time.

However, please allow me to say that having this establishment in Minneapolis is much needed because one can get food from various types of cuisines here and that itself honestly makes this place very valuable. Among all the dishes I have ordered over two times visiting here, my favorite was the kofte, which I know is a form of traditional Turkish dish, and what I loved about it was the ample amount of seasoning that defined the flavor of the ground beef & lamb and the sauce that would alter the flavor profile in a positive manner if needed. The pickled onion and rice offered extra means to enjoy the dish, so I utilized them to the maximum. The adana kebab was a kebab version of the kofte except for the meat wasn't as seasoned. My friend had that dish and it was still good. I also have tried the iskender which I knew was a popular dish here and also a common dish in Türkiye. It was slightly underwhelming because the meat wasn't as seasoned and wasn't tender enough, so I had to rely on the tomato sauce and the yogurt for assistance. Another friend had the beef stroganoff and I tasted it a bit. The tenderloin was marinated very well and the demi glace provided good flavor, along with the brussels sprouts that was cooked well enough to serve as a side dish. The lentil soup was pretty good, albeit not spectacular as it was relatively plain, and I know that lentil requires seasoning to give it flavor. The baklava wasn't crispy enough on the top and didn't have enough stickiness or sweetness to compliment the amount of pistachio that was added, but I will say that having a good amount of pistachio was a definite plus. The sutlac was great! The rice pudding flavor was evident and having one scoop with such along with the pistachio on top made it a very enjoyable experience! It also had a lot in a bowl, so the amount included was also very satisfactory. As mentioned previously, this place is a gem and much needed to stay here in Minneapolis. Their menu looks so fascinating that there are more dishes that I want to try, which I am committed to doing. I will also recommend this establishment to anyone looking for Turkish food in the Twin Cities!
