We also ordered a pita pizza-style and it was good as well. My personal favorite is the chicken buffalo and would recommend to anyone that plans to visit. I got the Falafelicious, which was incredible (5/5)! The hummus was some of the best I've had, and I've eaten and made so much hummus! The falafel was super crunchy and good, and the mini pitas were also wonderful; they were slightly crunchy yet airy and fluffy. I think this is the best fast casual meal I've gotten, especially for $15. The service was pretty quick (4/5). The ambiance is very nice (5/5), epically for a fast casual spot. Love this place! It's a bit on the casual side, you order at the front and they bring your food to you. The inside is well decorated, set up almost in a cafe fashion. The food is great, and the coffee options are so delicious and fun! We had a mortadella sandweesha, the mezze plate, and 2 pizzas. Everything was amazing, and I am still thinking about their delicious sesame coffee. I first had Baba's at the MN State fair and continue to get it every year, and I finally made my way to their storefront in Minneapolis. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint. YUMMMMOOO! I visited around midafternoon, and as soon as I walked in, I was hit with the most amazing smells. Parking was easy because I managed to snag a spot right outside the restaurant which is always a win in my book as parking in this area is not the greatest. Inside, the seating options are great with a mix of tables and comfy chairs. Plus, the natural light coming in is next level. It really makes the space come alive with all the neon colors. Now, let's talk food: I went all in with the Beauty and the Buffalo, Jibna + Za'atar, and the Palestinian Plate. Yup, eyes were bigger than my stomach, but everything was excellent What I loved about the meal is that nothing felt heavy... it was light, refreshing, and totally satisfying. I also grabbed a mint lemonade to go, and wow, it was just as refreshing as it sounded. They also serve coffee, and it looked absolutely delicious, I watched a few drinks being made while I was there and will definitely be trying one next time. I went to Baba's for dinner with my family. It was later in the evening but fairly busy still. The ambiance felt like nothing else in Minneapolis -- as my sister put it, "very Gen Z". It reminded me of trendy restaurants in SF. The food was amazing. We are vegetarian and the menu was very veggie friendly. We ordered the sampler, a falafel plate, and a zaatar pizza. There are bar stools for those grabbing a quick bite like I was, regular tables, and a small, cushy lounge area, the sort of spot to sip strong coffee and debate important issues. I'd already tried Baba's excellent hummus and breads, available at the Wedge across the street. This was my chance to try something hot, so I went with falafel- just the side since it was mid-afternoon. It arrived super fast, and I'd rate it among the top 3 in our metro area. The pickled veggies were bright and tasty, a bit crunchier than my relatives make, which is probably healthier. While eating, I observed other people's food and the menu. Some of the best food I have had in the Twin Cities, to the point that I returned twice within one month. Not only was the flavor on point for a lot of their dishes, but also the texture offered a very pleasurable experience overall. I thought their mixture of hummus with all kinds of materials was amazing because both flavor and texture were truly elevated that way. I could not have finished my food any faster, honestly. I would highly recommend the Hummus Bi Lahme Bowl, because the minced beef shawarma was so flavorful that it provided a good amount of extra flavor to the hummus that made one bite along with some pita puffs just a whole bite of flavor bomb. Almonds added a very nice layer to the bowl because it wasn't overpowering in flavor or texture, but rather provided that nice little touch needed. I also would highly recommend the Jerusalam-Style Bowl because the chickpeas were so flavorful and not too hard, and along with tahini and olive oil drizzle, it was just tasty in very simple and powerful ways. The tahini dake shake was also amazing! As much as the paper straw I was given wasn't strong enough for me to consume the drink, a simple spoon would do, and I felt like the shake itself could be a meal because it had an abundant amount. While I didn't try a lot of the other dishes, they received positive feedback from the ones around me. The only constructive feedback I had was about batata hara, the one that came with the sujok sandwich, which was too salty because I think the seasonings used for the pepper may have been too strong. I finished all the potatoes but not the vegetables around them, unfortunately. I'm not new to Baba's but this is the first time I'm writing a review for some reason. I usually get the bowls which are so delicious, but last night I decided to switch it up and try the Palestinian platter.... I literally have to get it every time I go now. It's one of the best things I have ever eaten, it's like a savory person's dream come true. It was my first time trying labneh, it was literally so creamy and good omg. We ordered - Batata Hara (crispy potatoes) Sesame Orange Blossom Latte (Iced) Musakhan (chicken pizza) The potatoes were my fav. Crispy and flavorful. The flavor of the chicken on the pizza was a bit off putting. I personally did not like it. Needed a bit of flavor/seasoning, but everything else on the pizza including the bread/dough was really good. The latte was good, strong but good. We've been meaning to visit Baba's for quite awhile. The restaurant is very cute and playfully decorated. The woman who took our order was kind and patient while we tried to decide what we wanted. I ordered the Beauty & The Buffalo and my boyfriend ordered the Wagyu Shawarma that was on their special edition menu. We were brought out our food very quickly! I noticed right away that there was very little chicken in my bowl and it was about 90% hummus. The food tasted great and i loved the pieces of puffy pita they gave me on the side but, the amount of actual chicken really threw me off. There were only about 4-6 small bites of chicken. Perhaps this dish was more so meant to be a snack? But it doesn't indicate anywhere on the menu. It really didn't fill me up much and i'm on the smaller side so i can't imagine if i was like, a full grown man ordering this. My boyfriend also really enjoyed his dish. He said the potatoes on the side were great and he ended up saving a little bit of his shawarma for later. Overall, the decor was super cute, the staff is very friendly and the food was good! Our beloved state fair favorite has graduated to the big time! Baba's, the Mediterranean food stand that has dazzled us at the fair for a a few years now, is a full blown brick and mortar. Officially called BAba's hummus house, it's now so much more. Before I jump into the food, something must be said about this space. It's absolutely stunning. Modern, open, bright, fun, vibrant, and eclectic! I'm not sure I've seen a better designed causal dining space in all my travels. The menu is wonderfully thought out: The beloved hummus bowls, Palestinian flatbread, wraps, and salads. Let's not forget the ever enticing specials that will for sure make you question your pre determined order as soon as you arrive at the counter. You simply can't go wrong....the quality is unmatched. Babas hummus is without question the best hummus I have ever had. I find it unimaginable that there is a better hummus anywhere in the country. And the pita puffs ? Maybe one the of the single most satisfying bread items I've ever had. The fact that both can be purchased in the to-go section and taste just as good at home is a gift straight from heaven! We have been buying Baba's hummus at our local store for a while now, but stopped here for the first time today. The space is bright and inviting, with modern paintings of everyday Palestinian life. The menu had many items I was eager to try. I ordered a super green hummus bowl and a tahini date shake. The pita puffs were warm and fresh, puffy yet slightly toasted. The green hummus went well with the parsley and mint salad (kind of like tabbouleh without bulgur wheat and tomato). I really liked the falafel. It was very crisp on the outside, yet fluffy on the inside. Some falafel needs hummus or some sauce to add moisture, but this falafel is fine plain. The tahini date shake is the one food this year I didn't know I needed until now. My spouse didn't like it, but I liked the non-syrupy sweetness balanced out by the nutty tahini. The oat milk made it taste like breakfast. My spouse ordered the pizza with lahme bi ajeen (Middle Eastern spiced meat). We couldn't tell that the dough had been fermented, but we also don't have pizza very often. I tried a little bit. It was good, but next time I will need to order one myself to describe what I liked and why it's different. The service was warm and friendly, contributing to the warm community feel that built as the space filled for Saturday lunch. Bonus: we bought enough food to accrue points for a tub of hummus. We were relieved to see parking across the street. We don't visit Uptown very often, but I'd make the trek for this spot. Next time I want to try pizza with musakhan (sumac spiced chicken). It certainly didn't disappoint and we absolutely loved everything we tried and the service was impeccable. Super friendly staff. The restaurant itself is very airy with lots of natural light. I love all the modern decor with hints of culture spread throughout. The part of the restaurant that has some items for sale was fun too - like a mini shop. The food was incredible - we tried multiple different things. They were trialing having the shawarma wrap sold during the week and we happened to be there on a Monday. I loved my wrap and it came with a side of delicious potatoes and garlic dip. The wagyu shawarma mana'eesh (flatbread) was equally amazing! The jibna + za'atar mana'eesh was delicious too! The setup is fast casual, where you order at the counter and then find your own seat. There is also a takeout option. We tried their Palestinian Plate, which was like a sampler platter - it included hummus, labaneh, falafel, za'atar puffs, tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, pickles, cheese, and pickled eggplant. I liked being able to try a lot of different things, and my favorite thing was the cheese, which seemed to be pan-fried. I tried the Lahme Bi Ajeen with Tahini Flatbread, which included ground meat, green Tahini, and mint. The bread was good, and the toppings were flavorful. It was big enough to be filling, but definitely could use a salad or vegetable side to supplement it. We also tried some of their macarons, and my favorite one was the baklava. I could have had it hotter (I love super-hot food), yet this didn't take away from the enjoyment of the meal. The kimchi had a nice bite that cut through the hummus without overpowering it. Babas has been on my list since it opened after it went viral. I've only heard great things and so glad I finally tried it! I split the hummus bi lahme and Sujok sandwich, both of which were absolutely incredible. The potatoes that came with the sandwich were the star of the show, literally the best seasoned potatoes I've ever had. Same with the schwarma in the hummus bowl-- I will definitely be getting that again. They look like smaller portions but it was so filling! I also tried a bite of the buffalo bowl and the chicken was amazing. I was a little nervous about the ranch hummus (even as ranch's biggest fan) but it was so good. I love counter service places and babas has a great seating area for eating in. Tons of light and big tables. One of the rare places that seems like it's just as good for takeout as eating in! The parking situation was pretty bad because of the Lyndale Ave location but there are back streets available. Also love the compostable bowls used! read more

I ordered the Super Green which is a great vegan option! Also got a Wildwonder in the raspberry lychee flavor. I love their space there's indoor (comfy couches/chairs available) and outdoor seating too. I usually eat in but I took this to-go and my order was ready within 5 minutes. Parking was right on Lyndale and free. Love Baba's! read more
