Have been craving middle eastern food and with the new weekend breakfast buffet at Mashawi figured Sunday was the perfect time! The restaurant itself is a nice size, super clean, with a very open and bright feel. The staff and owners were all incredibly nice. They offered a walkthrough of the items and gave fantastic recommendations of what to pair. The food was just as good. It's a relatively small buffet, but that's a really good thing. They were able to keep everything fresh then with not too many people there around 10am. Let me start by shooting out the amazingly soft pita. Even after sitting for a bit it was pillowy and flavorful. The same dough is used in their manakeesh, which are also amazing. There were pickled veggies, maqdoos (preserved stuff eggplants), hummus, fatta, labneh, foule, mesabbaha, shakshouka, lamb liver, and 1-2 more things. Plus a fantastic cardamom coffee or tea. Everything was very good and you can't beat it for the $16 price. I'd go back for sure, if in the area. The market and deli were also great! You can buy some of the impossibly soft breads as well as meats, candies, treats, snacks, and a ton of groceries. Highly recommend of your in the north metro.

The best hummus & garlic dip ever! Great big portions and so yummy. Love checking out Pangea grocery next door too.

Great food and plenty of it. Had the chicken shawarma plate. It was huge and the price was reasonable. I would recommend this restaurant.

I love Beirut. It has quickly became one of my favorite local spots…read more It's great for both sit-down and takeout. Their online ordering system is super easy to use, and ordering in person is just as smooth. The menu has such a good variety, everything from fresh salads to wraps and kebab plates. Honestly, everything I've tried has been so good. The garlic sauce is a must, it's incredible. My go-to is the shawarma unwrapped because you get a huge portion and can build it exactly how you want. The food is fantastic and the portions are very generous. The space is clean with plenty of seating, and the staff is amazing. They're so friendly and always make sure you have everything you need.

Ambiance was ok - more of a diner style. Very casual. High chairs available, which was a plus for us. I got the gyro wrap and my husband got the Lebanese wrap ( not pictured). The gyro wrap was pretty good, and I loved the garlic sauce that it came with. However, the fries they came with were a bit on the soggier side - not crispy and not too much flavor. The Lebanese wrap had good flavor but it was smaller than my husband and I were expecting. It was probably half the size of my gyro wrap since it was thinner. My kids liked the grilled chicken place and rice that they had. The chicken had great flavor. The portions overall though are on the smaller side, especially when compared to restaurants in Minneapolis or St. Paul. Food was pretty good, but nothing out of the ordinary. I liked it overall though and thought it was a fun and different option to try in the south suburbs.

It was a nice walk over the Mississippi River. The place is cozy and very clean. We were welcomed with so much warmth it was like having home cooking. We started out with the bread with feta. It was so good with the right amount of seasonings. I wanted to try the dowjic soup so I ordered a cup. I loved it! Yes it's lemony and has a lot of garlic which you could think is a lot of salt but these bright tangy flavors were right up my alley. Not to mention that with all that lemon and garlic it's great for your immune system. After a long flight this hit the spot. For entrees I had the bakla with chicken. So healthy and fresh. The rice had dill. Very tasty. My dad and his girlfriend had the Sheik Babani. They loved it. We enjoyed our meal so much that we went back on a Saturday in order to try the chicken Tawa which is only available Fridays and Saturdays. We had first gone there on Thursday. So glad we got a chance to try that too because the chicken was so tender and flavorful. Wish we were able to go again but they were closed Monday on our last day. Congrats to all the staff and owners for making this family restaurant a special place to eat.

The service was great and friendly. Prices are reasonable. If you're not big on tart food, then don't get the dowjic soup because it has a lot of lemon juice. The soup was good with bread to tame down the tartness. The food was flavorful and not overpowering with spices like Indian cuisine.
