I love this place!!!! The owner is friendly, and he even got up to serve us. the food is great and everyone left with a full belly. All of it is made to the traditional Persian way because the owners are Persian and you can tell by how amazing it tastes. The saffron tea was the best I've ever had. This is a great restaurant and I'm glad I went.

The ambiance was so cozy and inviting, making it the perfect spot for quality time with loved ones. Now, let's talk about their Napoleon pastry - oh my goodness, it was an absolute delight! The moment I took my first bite, I was transported to pastry paradise. The layers were beautifully flaky, and the luscious filling was a so light. It's evident that they put heart and soul into crafting this delectable treat. The best part was sharing this delightful experience with my family, and seeing their faces light up with joy as they savored their own delectable treats from their childhoods. It truly felt like a warm and delicious hug in the form of pastries! I can't help but commend the friendly staff who went out of their way to ensure we had a wonderful time. They even recommended some other delightful goodies on their menu that we can't wait to try next time. To sum it all up, Luminous Cafe is an absolute gem, a place where scrumptious pastries meet heartwarming hospitality. If you're looking for a place to create beautiful memories with your loved ones, while savoring heavenly pastries, this is the spot for you! I'm already planning my next visit, and I can't wait to go back for more delightful moments and, of course, more of their irresistible Napoleon pastries! It was a nice walk over the Mississippi River. The place is cozy and very clean. We were welcomed with so much warmth it was like having home cooking. We started out with the bread with feta. It was so good with the right amount of seasonings. I wanted to try the dowjic soup so I ordered a cup. I loved it! Yes it's lemony and has a lot of garlic which you could think is a lot of salt but these bright tangy flavors were right up my alley. Not to mention that with all that lemon and garlic it's great for your immune system. After a long flight this hit the spot. For entrees I had the bakla with chicken. So healthy and fresh. The rice had dill. Very tasty. My dad and his girlfriend had the Sheik Babani. They loved it. We enjoyed our meal so much that we went back on a Saturday in order to try the chicken Tawa which is only available Fridays and Saturdays. We had first gone there on Thursday. So glad we got a chance to try that too because the chicken was so tender and flavorful. Wish we were able to go again but they were closed Monday on our last day. Congrats to all the staff and owners for making this family restaurant a special place to eat.

The service was warm, welcoming, and attentive throughout our visit. We reserved the restaurant for our group of 10 for a party, and they were so chill and accommodating about where we wanted to sit. We were lucky enough to have the restaurant to ourselves, which made the atmosphere feel even more intimate and special for our celebration. We really appreciated how easygoing and accommodating the staff was, especially with it being a last-minute reservation. Overall, the delicious food, welcoming service, and intimate ambiance made it such a memorable experience. Highly recommend Lumi!

Lumi has become one of my favorite places to visit whenever I'm in Minneapolis for a conference…read more I've been there several times now, and the experience has consistently been excellent. The food has a genuinely authentic Turkish character that reminds me of meals I had in Istanbul. The steak kabob, rice dishes, baklava, and Turkish tea have all been excellent, and the menu has a nice selection without feeling overwhelming. The tea and desserts in particular make it easy to stay a little longer after dinner and enjoy the evening. The service has always been friendly and attentive, but one thing I especially appreciate is that they never make you feel rushed. On one visit, we stayed for well over two hours after our meal, drinking tea and chatting, and never once felt like anyone was trying to move us along or turn the table over. It has an upscale atmosphere while still feeling comfortable and welcoming. To me, that is what a great restaurant experience should be--not just good food, but a place where you can actually enjoy the company you're with and make a memory out of the evening. If you enjoy Turkish food, I would definitely recommend Lumi. I'll continue coming back whenever I'm in Minneapolis.
