I honestly cannot say enough good things about Holy Land. This place is a total gem in Northeast…read moreMinneapolis. I am always amazed by how much they have going on here. It is way more than just a restaurant, because the attached grocery store stocks everything you could ever need. I love being able to grab hard to find spices, fresh pita, and halal meat like goat or lamb all in one trip. The food in the sit down area is just incredible too. You have to try the hummus. It is seriously creamy and flavorful, probably the best I have had in the city. I also ordered the shawarma recently, and the spices were perfect. The vibe is great, but the workers really make it special. Everyone is super nice and willing to help you find things in the aisles or figure out what to order. It feels very welcoming every time I walk in. If you have not been here yet, you are definitely missing out!

The grocery store has many different foods from around the world and for a little while I was trying different breads from different regions. The bread section is one whole corner and is fun to try all the different varieties. The restaurant side you order food at the cashier and then sit at a table. So there really isn't much service here. The food consistency has not always been the same. Sometimes it's just ok but other times it has been amazing which is why it's getting 4 stars instead of 5 stars. Overall it's a good choice but I do mostly take away for the food. My favorite is the chicken lovers combo. Also note there is a large parking lot in back rather than trying to find street parking but I usually only go here if I am going to the grocery store. If I just want food from the restaurant I just do a delivery service or a quick pickup.

I was excited to try this place as it is one of the only known Uzbek food in MN and I wish I could…read moregive this a higher rating. There was a problem with one of the dishes, so that's why it's only at a 3. My friend and I got the lagman, tandoori bread, assorted shish kebabs , and small plov to share. Overall, the food was flavorful and portions were generous. We really enjoyed the lagman's deep flavor. The bread was just okay, as well as the plov. We got a small size, but it was still pretty big. The assorted shish kebabs came with lula, lamb, and chicken. The lula and lamb were great! However, I took a bite of the chicken skewer and it was cold and ended up being raw. We checked the rest of the chicken kebab and found that while the middle pieces were cooked, then ends weren't. We brought this to the server's attention and he was very apologetic and immediately took it away for us. It was not the server's fault for sure. He informed us that he would let the cooks know and offered some alternatives (1. they remake the chicken skewers, 2. remake the whole dish (and I guess we would still be charged?), or 3. just remove it from our check). We chose the third option. Overall, service was friendly and nice. They were just swamped because there was also a banquet that was going on. I wonder if that also contributed to what happened with our food. While I was disappointed, I am willing to give this another try some time later. I would just be hyperaware of how meats are cooked.

The server was exceptionally nice and helped us pick out everything we ordered. No regrets on anything, it was all amazing! Will definitely be back to try some different options.

I love Beirut. It has quickly became one of my favorite local spots…read more It's great for both sit-down and takeout. Their online ordering system is super easy to use, and ordering in person is just as smooth. The menu has such a good variety, everything from fresh salads to wraps and kebab plates. Honestly, everything I've tried has been so good. The garlic sauce is a must, it's incredible. My go-to is the shawarma unwrapped because you get a huge portion and can build it exactly how you want. The food is fantastic and the portions are very generous. The space is clean with plenty of seating, and the staff is amazing. They're so friendly and always make sure you have everything you need.

Ambiance was ok - more of a diner style. Very casual. High chairs available, which was a plus for us. I got the gyro wrap and my husband got the Lebanese wrap ( not pictured). The gyro wrap was pretty good, and I loved the garlic sauce that it came with. However, the fries they came with were a bit on the soggier side - not crispy and not too much flavor. The Lebanese wrap had good flavor but it was smaller than my husband and I were expecting. It was probably half the size of my gyro wrap since it was thinner. My kids liked the grilled chicken place and rice that they had. The chicken had great flavor. The portions overall though are on the smaller side, especially when compared to restaurants in Minneapolis or St. Paul. Food was pretty good, but nothing out of the ordinary. I liked it overall though and thought it was a fun and different option to try in the south suburbs.
