Great place for some late night bar food. Cheers curds are great and the wings are gigantic!! The boneless are very sad, a ton of breading on them and very little chicken on the inside. The drink of choice is the Long Island for those late night snacks. Fast service as well.

Waffle fries and seasoned sour cream

Girl dinner at Ray J's!! I ordered a side of waffle fries with seasoned sour cream ($9.00) and a side Caesar salad ($9.00). If I knew the side Caesar salad was going to be $9.00 I would've gotten the whole Caesar salad, but the salad was delicious! The lettuce was crisp and the dressing tasted good. The waffle fries were hot and crispy, I do not like soggy waffle fries. They give a large size of seasoned sour cream which I appreciated. The food came out fast and the service was great! The booths are comfortable and they also have tables.

Indeed - Pistachio Cream Ale

We really enjoyed our lunch at Ray J's. We sat at the bar and after chatting with the friendly bartender, ordered beer, wings, and a Greek salad. The chicken wings were AMAZING, the Greek salad was fresh and tasty, and the beer was good (Indeed Pistachio Cream Ale on tap). Perfect NFL Sunday spot - we'll be back.

Full Order of Ray J's Bone In Wings: garlic parm & bomba

Awesome spot! We went here late and weren't sure how late the kitchen is open but to our surprise it's open until 1:30am which is pretty impressive. We got a full order of their bone in wings and these come with all 3 parts of the wing so they are really 3 wings in one and the sauces were delicious. They were well seasoned and we especially enjoyed the bomba wings with a side of arguably one of the best sauces in their jalapeño ranch. Super fun vibe inside and the staff was great to us!

juicy lucy burger

Went to try out Ray J's with some friends! I've heard many good things about the wings but if I ever see a juicy lucy I will be trying that!! I would recommend going during the morning as it was not busy at all. I also like that there was a parking lot so you don't need to stress about finding parking. I ended up getting a juicy lucy with bacon. It came with fries and the fries were perfectly seasoned and crisps. I feel as if I haven't had enough juicy lucy to compare but it's really good! I would say it's just hard to eat but the cheese gushing out is what makes it so good. I will definitely try the chicken wings next time. Overall, I would recommend trying this place out.

Coconut mojito

Nice place with a really good atmosphere, the waitress was very friendly and helpful, the food was delicious and price wise pretty average. I really recommend it! We ordered a juice Lucy burger and sausage penne pasta both delicious to finish the dinner a coconut mojito, total of $46.32 not bad in my opinion.

Nice little dive bar. Loved the builded your own Bloody Mary bar! Lots of tvs to watch football. Service was ok. It wasn't that packed. Had to flag the server down for water even then that took awhile. Good sports bar food! We had the habanero wings! Nice spicy and pretty spicy. Love that there is a small parking lot!

Me and my friends visit Ray is often to watch basketball games. Sports bar with amazing wings! Wings are always super hot and fresh when they come out and that's how I like them. Staff is a hit or miss, they definitely do their job, just doesn't always feel friendly, but I still go back lol

Cajun Chicken Penne

One word - wow! More words... this place is fantastic! The menu has almost too many great sounding options. I got the Cajun pasta of course, but also ordered the Ray J's deluxe flatbread/pizza. Let's start with the pasta. It was DELICIOUS! Both the chicken and the pasta had great flavor. The creamy Cajun sauce was a little spicy. The garlic bread was as absolute win to soak up the remaining sauce. The pizza was an absolute impulse purchase after reading through the menu. Worth it. I loved the topping combination.

Bomba Wings!

Hands down the best wings in Minneapolis! Always a great spot to watch the Vikings play, grab a drink, and have a good time. Service is always fast and the atmosphere is a true sports bar. - Anthony

Anytime I'm craving wings, Ray J's is where I'll go! On a recent trip, my partner and I split the bacon cheeseburger and a full order of wings - the nutty rooster and drunken sauces are both great! The burger was good, pretty bare bones, no frills. Parking is easy, a table is easy enough to find, beer list is great! Service can be a bit slow as wings usually take a bit.

Love the smokey ranch wings with side of habanero sauce. Sometimes the food can be cold coming out. But when fresh no concerns.

The decor is fun, it's like a fever dream of a newspaper themed pirate cove with downtown holiday sparkle. Walking in, there's a news-themed entry, then you see a mermaid reading a newspaper at a pirate ship bar playing sports games on the TVs. It's wild, but it's so fun. We had great seats at a table by the window looking out to downtown, which was great for people watching while we waited for our food. We were also entertained by the football and hockey games on the TVs. Our waitress was swift, but we waited a while for her to come back to cash us out after we ate. I ordered their burger with fries and a Pinot noir on the side. The burger was cooked nicely at medium well. There were several cocktails that sounded great, but a nice burger and dry red was calling to me that night. My husband got the Korean bbq fried chicken sandwich and we split that and the burger halfsies. I liked the chicken sandwich, but not as much as I enjoyed the burger. A fun choice for a meal in downtown Minneapolis, don't let the reviews steer you away. Hopefully you can catch the bartender climbing the rope stairs for a bottle!

The restaurant was understaffed - the bartender was not only running the bar but also serving the entire dining area. We sat at the bar and waited about 10 minutes before being greeted. We also overheard a nearby table voice frustration about the slow service. We're pretty patient, so it wasn't the end of the world, but it was noticeably slow. That said, once we were helped, our server was friendly and attentive. I ordered a Spicy Margarita and my husband went with an Old Fashioned. My margarita was on the weaker side; not bad, just forgettable. My husband enjoyed his Old Fashioned. For food, we tried the Bang Bang Shrimp, Thai Chicken Lettuce Wraps, and the Crab-Stuffed Portabella. The standout was definitely the Bang Bang Shrimp; we both really liked it. The lettuce wraps and stuffed mushroom were fine, just not dishes we'd return specifically for. The overall vibe was calm and low-key, and the staff was kind despite being stretched thin. I'm glad we gave it a try, but it's probably not a place we'll be rushing back to.

The bar server greeted us and let us know how to order. We were both starving and wanted to get some tacos. I had the chicken tinga and the braised beef. I really loved the chicken tinga but the braised beef just did not have a lot of flavor. I also had a side of beans, they were definitely undercooked and again, not a ton of flavor with them. I also had the horchata, it is a small glass filled with ice, so not sure it is worth the price point or at least order two. The guacamole was amazing and I would definitely get that if you go! PROS: Tortillas were great, loved the chicken tinga Great space, drinks galore CONS: Parking- always- there is street parking Lack of flavor in some items

Centro is in a nice location that's near the Rosedale Mall but not all the traffic. I haven't been to this restaurant since it's been remodeled (previously Good Earth) and it's very trendy, IG worthy. Bright colors, murals on the inside/outside. It was seat yourself dining. And "scan the QR code to order". However, we did have the waiter take everyone's order because it was going to be ONE BIG BILL. Drinks came out, then we ordered food (apps for some, entrees for the rest). Great happy hour deals on drinks, and chips w/ dips. I ordered a Guava Margarita. It came in a lowball glass, garnished with a lime and spicy tajin rim. It was strong enough for me. Tattersall.... say no more! Tasted like a normal Marg, guava didn't stand out. Apps were shared. Chips were warm and salty. Guac was above average. Salsa and queso stood out more. Cool Ranch wings with ranch dip. Others loved them. I didn't taste much "Cool Ranch". Dirty Yuka fries. I got to try 1 but grabbed lots of its toppings and sauce. Don't know what a YUKA is but that was good. I would have had another if there were some left. Now my entree.. the Elote Carnitas Crunch wrap. Didn't come with any sides (rice, beans) or dipping sauce. Although I did steal some leftover Ranch from the wings. I cut it in half for easier eating and it looked beautiful. Due to the Carnitas, it was very drippy/messy/wet. I rolled up my sleeves, and made sure I had it over the plate vs my lap. It really didn't need a dipping sauce. It had some heat to it, and it built with each bite. But it was a good heat; tingly lips. Nothing on fire that made you pant or required milk. My coworker got the Cool Ranch Crunch wrap and hers was dry... and needed a dipping sauce for moisture. She used leftover queso and it was much better. Food came out in waves. Many staff helping out at the table with both bringing food out and clearing used dishes, empty glasses/ bottles. And no errors in the order. Great to see teamwork. To-go boxes were given to those in need and they looked like recycled paper/cardboard vs Styrofoam. And paper bags were given to the people with more than 1 to-go box. I would definitely return to try more items on the menu.
