Love this place! It's a bit on the casual side, you order at the front and they bring your food to you. The inside is well decorated, set up almost in a cafe fashion. The food is great, and the coffee options are so delicious and fun! We had a mortadella sandweesha, the mezze plate, and 2 pizzas. Everything was amazing, and I am still thinking about their delicious sesame coffee. Family friendly as well, we felt comfortable hanging out with our baby in a high chair, and there were other kids as well. Definitely recommend this spot for great food, drinks, and vibes!
I first had Baba's at the MN State fair and continue to get it every year, and I finally made my way to their storefront in Minneapolis. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint. YUMMMMOOO! I visited around midafternoon, and as soon as I walked in, I was hit with the most amazing smells. Parking was easy because I managed to snag a spot right outside the restaurant which is always a win in my book as parking in this area is not the greatest. Inside, the seating options are great with a mix of tables and comfy chairs. Plus, the natural light coming in is next level. It really makes the space come alive with all the neon colors. Now, let's talk food: I went all in with the Beauty and the Buffalo, Jibna + Za'atar, and the Palestinian Plate. Yup, eyes were bigger than my stomach, but everything was excellent What I loved about the meal is that nothing felt heavy... it was light, refreshing, and totally satisfying. I also grabbed a mint lemonade to go, and wow, it was just as refreshing as it sounded. They also serve coffee, and it looked absolutely delicious, I watched a few drinks being made while I was there and will definitely be trying one next time. Of course, I couldn't leave without picking up a few macarons for later... couldn't resist the s'mores one. Even though I don't live close at all, l'd make the drive to come back. The staff were friendly and super helpful, answering all my questions about the menu. There's also a ton of cool merch to check out, plus options to buy sauces, hummus, pitas, and more to take home. Looking forward to round 2.
We stopped by Baba's for a quick bite in between chores and I have become obsessed. My husband and I split the Palestinian Plate which was more than enough for an afternoon snack. First up, the ambiance is light and airy, and the cushioned chairs we sat in were shockingly comfy. The service was also extremely quick and friendly which we really appreciated. The Palestinian Plate was basically a great sampler into the flavors of their menu and between the arabi cheese, pita puffs, falafel, and labneh I could not even tell you which was my favorite becaus for they were all great. We will definitely be back for sandwiches and pizza soon!
Had a great lunch at Baba's! Seating was plentiful both indoors and on the patio. Service is order at the counter and food was out fairly quickly. The decor is super interesting and there is a deli for to go items. Everything we tried was delicious and authentic tasting. I was particularly fond of the hummus and could eat a tub of it in a single sitting. Looking forward to the next meal there!
I went to Baba's for dinner with my family. It was later in the evening but fairly busy still. The ambiance felt like nothing else in Minneapolis -- as my sister put it, "very Gen Z". It reminded me of trendy restaurants in SF. The food was amazing. We are vegetarian and the menu was very veggie friendly. We ordered the sampler, a falafel plate, and a zaatar pizza. The portions were generous -- we probably didn't need to order so much! Everything we ordered was delicious. The pizza and the sampler were standouts. From the sampler, I especially enjoyed the cheese, tomatoes, olives, and the falafel. Their small pitas were also soooo good!! Go to Baba's!!!!
If you love hummus and falafel, you have to try this place. Super cute vibe inside, lovely staff, fast service. Orders: Falafelicious: hummus, falafel, warm chickpeas, pickled red cabbage, arabi pickles, tahini, sumac. The falafel were crispy on the outside and not dry on the inside. Lovely flavor. I really liked the arabi pickles and cabbage. It came with a large serving of soft pita puffs. Super green: super refreshing green herb hummus, perfect falafel, peas, pistachio, herb salad, and tahini. Felt v light. Lovely on a hot summer day. Also came with a large serving of pita puffs. Pistachio latte: you can't do a milk substitute because it's premade, which was fine. It was SO good. Nice pistachio flavor, probably a lot of caffeine. A perfect start to a morning or early afternoon. They also have good ice. Overall, I'd come back to try more things and order another latte. Def a fan.
I'm not new to Baba's but this is the first time I'm writing a review for some reason. I usually get the bowls which are so delicious, but last night I decided to switch it up and try the Palestinian platter.... I literally have to get it every time I go now. It's one of the best things I have ever eaten, it's like a savory person's dream come true. It was my first time trying labneh, it was literally so creamy and good omg. Only $17 and you get so much food!! My bf got the wagyu shawarma which he said was great. He also got the oat milk chai, we both loved it. Customer service is always wonderful and everyone is always very friendly!
Unique décor throughout the public area; it seems designed to take maximum advantage of natural light. There are bar stools for those grabbing a quick bite like I was, regular tables, and a small, cushy lounge area, the sort of spot to sip strong coffee and debate important issues. There is also a patio for soaking up the sun more directly when weather permits.. Even the bathrooms are a little bit special, two good-sized single-seaters with Arabic writing on the walls. I'd already tried Baba's excellent hummus and breads, available at the Wedge across the street. This was my chance to try something hot, so I went with falafel- just the side since it was mid-afternoon. It arrived super fast, and I'd rate it among the top 3 in our metro area. The pickled veggies were bright and tasty, a bit crunchier than my relatives make, which is probably healthier. While eating, I observed other people's food and the menu. I will have to order one of the pizzas next time! They are baked in a brick oven and have distinctly Middle Eastern toppings.
Some of the best food I have had in the Twin Cities, to the point that I returned twice within one month. Not only was the flavor on point for a lot of their dishes, but also the texture offered a very pleasurable experience overall. I thought their mixture of hummus with all kinds of materials was amazing because both flavor and texture were truly elevated that way. I could not have finished my food any faster, honestly. I would highly recommend the Hummus Bi Lahme Bowl, because the minced beef shawarma was so flavorful that it provided a good amount of extra flavor to the hummus that made one bite along with some pita puffs just a whole bite of flavor bomb. Almonds added a very nice layer to the bowl because it wasn't overpowering in flavor or texture, but rather provided that nice little touch needed. I also would highly recommend the Jerusalam-Style Bowl because the chickpeas were so flavorful and not too hard, and along with tahini and olive oil drizzle, it was just tasty in very simple and powerful ways. The tahini dake shake was also amazing! As much as the paper straw I was given wasn't strong enough for me to consume the drink, a simple spoon would do, and I felt like the shake itself could be a meal because it had an abundant amount. While I didn't try a lot of the other dishes, they received positive feedback from the ones around me. The only constructive feedback I had was about batata hara, the one that came with the sujok sandwich, which was too salty because I think the seasonings used for the pepper may have been too strong. I finished all the potatoes but not the vegetables around them, unfortunately. Regardless, I am already putting this place as one of the best in the Twin Cities if I treat my friends from out of town visiting me, and I also highly recommend this place to anyone that seeks for amazing Middle Eastern, specifically Palestinian, food!
This has been on my list of places to try for a while now. We stopped in on Easter Sunday, while most of the other restaurants in the area were closed for the holiday I was happy to see this open & to try something new. The restaurant itself is super cute, loved the color scheme and the seating options. They also have a nice patio for the warmer months. We ordered - Batata Hara (crispy potatoes) Sesame Orange Blossom Latte (Iced) Musakhan (chicken pizza) The potatoes were my fav. Crispy and flavorful. The flavor of the chicken on the pizza was a bit off putting. I personally did not like it. Needed a bit of flavor/seasoning, but everything else on the pizza including the bread/dough was really good. The latte was good, strong but good. I definitely want to adventure back for the hummus bowls. They do have a shared parking lot about a half block down (kind of across from Leaning Tower of Pizza) from the restaurant otherwise street parking.
Babas is such a cute spot with delicious food! We had Fattoush with Chicken and Wagyu Shawarma with Potatoes + some macarons. The macarons were too sweet for my liking but the savory foods were perfectly seasoned and the meat was super tender. Fattoush is one of my favorite salads - Baba's makes a good one!
Recently went here for the 1st time. I have been to events where the catering was from here so knew the food was solid but have been meaning to go to the actual restaurant. I loved the vibe - trendy but chill. It was the perfect environment to catch-up with friends. Two of us got the hummus platter, a pizza & salad to share which was the right amount. It let us try a few things & I had some leftovers. I liked that they had a store too where you could buy coffee and other gifts. It didn't seem really kid/family friendly but I'll def come back here with friends & everyone's happy to get catering from them so check that out!
We've been meaning to visit Baba's for quite awhile. The restaurant is very cute and playfully decorated. The woman who took our order was kind and patient while we tried to decide what we wanted. I ordered the Beauty & The Buffalo and my boyfriend ordered the Wagyu Shawarma that was on their special edition menu. We were brought out our food very quickly! I noticed right away that there was very little chicken in my bowl and it was about 90% hummus. The food tasted great and i loved the pieces of puffy pita they gave me on the side but, the amount of actual chicken really threw me off. There were only about 4-6 small bites of chicken. Perhaps this dish was more so meant to be a snack? But it doesn't indicate anywhere on the menu. It really didn't fill me up much and i'm on the smaller side so i can't imagine if i was like, a full grown man ordering this. My boyfriend also really enjoyed his dish. He said the potatoes on the side were great and he ended up saving a little bit of his shawarma for later. Overall, the decor was super cute, the staff is very friendly and the food was good! I would love to try more things on their menu The only critique i had was the portion of chicken.

I ordered the Super Green which is a great vegan option! Also got a Wildwonder in the raspberry lychee flavor. I love their space there's indoor (comfy couches/chairs available) and outdoor seating too. I usually eat in but I took this to-go and my order was ready within 5 minutes. Parking was right on Lyndale and free. Love Baba's! read more
Babas has been on my list since it opened after it went viral. I've only heard great things and so glad I finally tried it! I split the hummus bi lahme and Sujok sandwich, both of which were absolutely incredible. The potatoes that came with the sandwich were the star of the show, literally the best seasoned potatoes I've ever had. Same with the schwarma in the hummus bowl-- I will definitely be getting that again. They look like smaller portions but it was so filling! I also tried a bite of the buffalo bowl and the chicken was amazing. I was a little nervous about the ranch hummus (even as ranch's biggest fan) but it was so good. I love counter service places and babas has a great seating area for eating in. Tons of light and big tables. One of the rare places that seems like it's just as good for takeout as eating in! The parking situation was pretty bad because of the Lyndale Ave location but there are back streets available. Also love the compostable bowls used! read more

I don't usually write about fast casual, but I had this place delivered today and I have to say--top notch! I ordered the Wagyu Shawarma, and it was yummy! Lot's of hummus and nice tart pickled veggies paired with shredded meat. Served with a side of mini pitas, that were also fabulous. All in all, it could have been two meals. thanks! read more
The decor and vibes of this place are super cute! I love the fun colors and vibes of this place. It is an over the counter sit down restaurant and the service was pretty quick. I ordered the chili baba bowl for a main. The hummus was really good and so was the kimchi. I also loved the pita puffs - those are so delicious! The downside to this bowl was that it was doused in chili oil. It added great flavor but made the whole bowl feel greasy so maybe I'd ask for that on the side next time. I would also prefer to get this as a shareable since it did not feel like a filling meal in and of itself. I also tried a few bites of the falafel wrap. This was a decent sized sandwich that was packed with vegetables and the potatoes - oh my gosh! They were so good. Perfectly crisp on the outside with a pgreat soft center. Would definitely get this as my entree next time. To end out the meal I tried some macarons. I got a Turkish Coffee and baklava. The texture was great and I enjoyed the coffee flavor but the baklava left some to be desired. read more

Such a cute place with amazing food!! There are so many different things to try but the winner was the buffalo chicken bowl. I wasn't excepting to like it as someone who doesn't like buffalo chicken, but it is such a crowd favorite. I also looooved the Jibna + Sujok. Such and amazing place to chill with friends and snack on food or even pick up something quick to eat. Highly recommend! read more

I've been dying to go to Baba's since they opened their storefront and it did not disappoint! I love the decor - it's bright, airy, colorful, and inviting. There are several seating areas, including an outdoor patio. I love the variety of hummus bowls, although it made it tough to pick one! I went with the Bougie Bowl and my friend got the Falafalicious bowl. Both were so tasty and filling without being too heavy. The hummus is so creamy and the pita puffs are soft and pillowy with a nice chew. Parking was a little challenging midday on a Friday but it's worth it for the hummus! I do wish Baba's made a bowl with their Salsasita hummus - hopefully in the future! read more

This was my first time at this establishment, I went to lunch with a friend who is of Somali descent. The place was welcoming and I had some of THE BEST FOOD I've ever had there! Baba's boasts lots of natural light combined with large communal seating and an easy to navigate Mediterranean-influenced menu. We enjoyed their flatbreads and hummus as well as much as we did the locally-sourced ingredients. Being on such a busy street with huge windows makes the big city feel small and more personal. The traffic wasn't too bad so we enjoyed one of the large communal seating areas to ourself - which we needed because we were so loud! There was a nice mix of patrons also. Parking will be a real challenge if you're not lucky enough to- as we were - to nab some on-street parking. Keep your eyes peeled for those coveted street spots but aliso for nearby parking in the back or side streets. read more
I've been meaning to try Baba's since falling in love with their bowls at the state fair. It did not disappoint. I ordered the hummus bi lahme bowl. It was AMAZING! The hummus is so creamy and flavorful. It was topped with minced beef shawarma and pine nuts. The beef was tender with a little spice. The little pita puffs served with the bowls are so good! The restaurant itself is so darling. The decor is fresh and bright. I just loved it and will definitely be back. The service was great too! read more

-Food: delicious; fav thing to get is Palestinian plate to have a little bit of everything -Drinks: latte flavors sound very unique but taste a bit less exciting Atmosphere: stunning interior -Service: every time we eat here we notice most people that come in aren't sure where to order since staff are rarely standing at the cashier and there's no "order here" sign. I think the window view of the food makes it look like chipotle-style ordering. The staff don't seem to pick up on this or care that customers are lost. Heard a lot of hype on the socials about this spot and have loved their food at the Minnesota State Fair! Only made sense to give their new brick and mortar shop a try! Located on Lyndale Ave, there is no dedicated parking lot, but there is plenty of nearby free street parking. The space itself is a vibe...plenty of indoor and outdoor seating in a colorful, decorative space. Very clean, modern, and exciting! Loved the positive energy bumbling about. Service was outstanding. There was a decent line when we arrived, but it moved quickly. You order at the counter and then they bring your food to the table! The menu is a fun, new take on fast casual. With Hummus Bowls, Flatbreads, and Sandwiches, there's something for everyone! I opted for the Hummus Bowl with Lamb (I can't remember the actual name) and it was delish! The real winners are the Pita Bites!! The bowl was a perfect serving for one person to dip and scoop to their belly's desire. I can't wait to come back and try more from their menu! read more
This counter service gem has stolen my hyper fixation meal lately - I have been back 3 times in the last month. I have tried the buffalo blue option and the beef bowl option. The side potatoes are phenomenal, and I sampled a flatbread. They indeed know what they are doing with the flavors melding perfectly in all the items I have sampled. The first thing I noticed was the super beautiful lightning and the bright fun pink neon sign. You can smell the fresh pitas and fried potatoes when you walk in the macarons looked delicious and the bowl options are so unique and flavorful. Food (Gotta be first, right?) Baba's has the creamiest hummus that I've ever tasted. They also have the softest pita puffs. They have a variety of hummus bowls you can try. Highly recommend the green and kimchi/spicy bowls. We love soft bread so we tend to be out of the pita puffs first. Must come to this place if you love hummus and a good vibe. Parking There is only street parking. The two times that I've gone there was parking in the front of the restaurant. It does fill up rather quickly. Service I think some people get confused on where to go when you enter. When you walk in, the cashier is in front (see first photo). The service is rather quick and the restaurant is kept clean. The other confusion I've noticed is that when you stay and eat, you bring your tray to the drink and utensil station and put it in the bins at the bottom of the drawer. Vibes & Aesthetics It is a super cute place to grab lunch on a sunny day. The place just fills up with light. It is very feminine with boho, modern, and organic accents. This place is so cute inside and out! I love the different seating options (bar height window seating, tables, and couch with coffee tables). It's also refreshing to have a place that serves good food with a wifi option for coworking! The staff was super nice and were able to answer all the questions we asked. I had the Lahme Bi Ajeen which was amazing and I will definitely be getting it again! My friend and partner both had the Buffalo Chicken Hummus Bowl with they also loved. We'll definitely be back and I recommend this as your next stop for a good Mediterranean meal and the best hummus in the twin cities!! read more
Definitely worth trying, at least once, knocked off one star only because the menu is fairly limited. Cute ambience, bright, colorful and inviting. Hummus is extra smooth, creamy and delicious. The little pitas that accompany it are pillowy, light, slightly chewy pieces of heaven. We also tried a meat pie with tahini sauce. Flavorful, pie crust not too thick. Fun options for drinks. You place the order at the counter. You're given a number to take to your table where food is delivered. We came during non peak hours so food css as me out fast and it was easy to find a table to eat at. read more

This place was soooooo good! The food was fresh, fast and super tasty. Babas offer unique hummus flavors and a good variety in food (flatbreads, bowls, and sandwiches). This place has a good inside seating area and a cute patio for nice days. Food can easily be taken on the go as well if you're looking for a quick bite. They also had some fun coffee drinks that I would like to try in the future :) read more

I was seeing a lottttt of hype for Baba's on Instagram, and as a hummus lover, I knew I'd need to check it out. I went and got their falafel bowl, which was fantastic. I cannot begin to describe how good their falafel is. A top falafel, if not the best, falafel in the cities. The little pita poofs that come with it too??? AMAZING! They almost have a pretzel-y texture, but they have this yummy seasoning that's just perfection. The hummus was, of course, amazing. My sister got their herb hummus, which I thought was better than the regular but the regular was also fantastic. Seriously, this spot deserves the hype it's getting!!! If you love hummus, you'll love Baba's. read more
Love love love the feel. Super modern and open space and plenty of lighting. We got our food really quick, but they did forget our fries and gave it to us after we asked. The hummus bi lahme was a bit sour, but had great flavors. The Palestinian Plate had a variety of flavors and textures, which my partner loved. Some of the pickles were too sour for me, but I love the hummus (nicely flavored and creamy). I don't recall which maneesh we got, but that was my least favorite thing, still delicious, but needed a bit more flavoring. My favorite part was the pita bread, so soft and puffy and it went well with everything. I also really liked the side green sauce, a bit spicy and very flavorful. I wish I could give a 4.5 star! My partner liked the food more than I did. Overall, It was a great experience overall and the food is pretty good. read more

This place is cute as hell, but more importantly tasty!!! I really loved the vibe, it has a mixture of modern, funky, and yet traditional. I loved the mix of middle eastern music and American pop, the seating is lush inside and a cute patio outside. Ordering can seem a little tricky at first since the counter brings to mind a chipotle setup but thankfully the staff is nice, welcoming, and happy to answer questions. I really enjoyed the food, if you've had middle eastern food, this is a fun and accessible take on some of the classic tastes and dishes. I loved the addition of buffalo chicken and those spicy tastes, plus all the pickled accouterments, so good!! I'll be back and telling everyone I meet to try out this Wonder addition to the neighborhood. read more

Creamy, fresh, balanced, and bright Baba's is a place that feels game changing and special. Their pita puffs are fluffy and seasoned - I'm feeling sad that I don't have more now that I'm typing this!! Our group tried the green hummus, the bougie hummus and the one with meat in it. All three were spectacular. We cleared every plate! I had the sandwich with sausage and cheese - spectacular and so satisfying with the salad and sauces. I want to go back soon! And as for the inside, it's beautiful and welcoming. The only feedback I have for the team is to make a dedicated and logical place for people to drop off their trays - or let the customers know that someone will pick up trays afterwards! read more

This space has fun, upbeat, welcoming vibes. The space is colorful and light hearted. The service was great & very helpful with recommendations. This hummus is off-the-chain! We got the Falafelicious and it is full of flavor. I am a huge fan of pickled onions and they were perfect with the pickles and falafels. The pita puffs are like a slice of heaven. I wish there was an option to get extra pita puffs when sharing because for three people there was not enough in comparison to the hummus. Regardless, it was delightful. You can buy hummus to take home in their to-go spot! Tons of options The Batta Harra is something I will be dreaming about for weeks. Full of flavor and the best spice. The sauce was a nice compliment. I also dipped some in the hummus and it tasted amazing. Quite the savory dish. Our table shared the Lahme Bi Ajeen. We all felt the meat was dry and while there was nice spice it wasn't necessarily a great flavor. I'd like to try something else next time! read more
