The branzino was very flavorful but had a mushy texture. The entrees are served with jasmin rice. Beware that their dishes are quite spicy and pack an aromatic punch. If you are averse to big flavors, it is advisable to eat elsewhere. The meal was rounded out by the most amazing dessert of luscious pandan ice cream with jackfruit and sticky coconut rice in a rich crème anglaise sauce. I didn't want to share! The crispy pork belly garlic rice was me and my sister's favorite, with perfect savory flavors and crunch. Quite an interesting Thai fusion place that specializes in seafood and family style dining. Happy hour is every day 12-5pm, where their specialty cocktails are $13 instead of $19, and oysters are $22 a dozen. I'd strongly make reservations for dinner, as it gets crowded, but it was only half-full during the afternoon, so daytime walk-ins seem to be okay. It's ludicrously pricey ($30-40 per entree), but if you hear me out, I think it's worth the cost. The food is absolutely exceptional, and I don't think you'd ever find something like this elsewhere. The Crispy Rice Salad and Pork was incredible! Bursts of powerful, intense flavors (my wife calls it a "flavor bomb", which describes it perfectly); use the cabbage to make wraps. The Coconut Crab Curry is heaven, especially if you like spicy. It's creamy and warm, and meshes magically with the rice. The Fried Fish and Garden Salad is milder, a medley of citrus, savory, and sweet. It's also well fried/deboned, so you don't need to pick out the bones. For dessert, I ordered the No Pad Thai Zone cocktail. It's good if you like tamarind and tangy, but wasn't for me. I did enjoy the coconut cream that it came with though. My only regret here is not having enough room in my stomach for their coconut pandan ice cream, which I'm trying the next time I come here. All exceeded expectations with their multilayered, fresh flavors and high quality ingredients. I was most surprised by the melt-in-your-mouth pork cheeks and accompanying sauce. The portion was generous and a great way to start the meal. My favorite of the entrees was the steamed fish, but the crab curry was also outstanding. Expect the kick that the three chili peppers on the menu imply - but there is a ton of flavor in addition to the heat. That said, we ordered the coconut N/A cocktail midway through dinner, which (despite a topping of shaved chilies) did a good job in offsetting the spiciness. Service here was excellent, friendly and attentive, and the vibe was great. Despite being packed, it wasn't very loud. And while not inexpensive, I thought the prices were reasonable for the quality of the food. It's 100% on my short list of places for a return visit. read more

Fish Cheeks has been on my list for a year and I finally got to try it out! We visited Fish Cheeks for my cousin's birthday and it was such a great choice! From the service to the ambiance to the food - everything was amazing! We started off with drinks and appetizers. The spicy mango margaritas were delicious but could have used a tad bit more spice. The corn salad was simple yet tasty and refreshing. And the chicken wings... I'm not sure how what they put in and on them but they are like crack (which I have never tried but I imagine it's like these wings lol). For our entrees, we always do family style so that we can try a number of options. We kicked it off with the 30 days Dry Aged Beef Kaprow and I didn't think any of the other choices could be anymore delicious. But then the Choo Chee Scallops arrived and I was blown away. Lastly, the Coconut Crab Curry came out and there were chunks of crab and hella flavor! If you like shots I highly recommend the Ya Dong Party shots. The street liquor is interesting but my favorite part is the pandan ice tea chaser that comes with the shot. They were so much fun. You can also get the pandan ice tea on its own as well. We came here with a group of four and ordered many dishes to try. - Zabb Wings - Somtum Corn Salad - Grilled Cuttlefish - Rawaaeng duck curry - Crab Aob Woonseng - Steamed fish with Thai herbs - Pork dish (can't remember if it was the pork belly or pork cheeks) While all the dishes were delicious, none of them actually stood out as much for me. Maybe it's because I had such high expectations because of the great reviews and recommendations from friends. My favorite dish was the crab aob woonseng because I liked the subtle umami flavor of the glass noodles in the steel pot. It's also the dish that tastes a bit different from the others. A lot of the dishes were served with similar spicy sauce (which I'm not a big fan of) as well as this acidic lime-y flavor. I felt the flavor profile from the overall dishes felt flat and similar. The duck curry was underwhelming, definitely not the best I've had. For the price, I was definitely disappointed by the taste and quality of the food. First time at this establishment - the food was top notch and the service was fantastic (shout out to Joshua)! We got two rounds of the Melon and lychee cocktails (forgot the names), the pork belly (100/10), crab fried rice (100/10) and the steamed fish (100/10), plus the sticky rice dessert. 10/10/10 would recommend!!
