One of the best Thai restaurants that I have tried in New York!! We ordered the Pad Thai with Shrimp and the Massaman Curry with Tofu instead of Chicken. WOW! The flavors were very rich and complemented the dishes very well. The curry had potatoes in it as well, which was delicious! It also comes with a side of white rice. The lighting is a bit dim in this place but overall it was an amazing experience and I will definitely be back!

I would visit Chada for the great lunch specials before I had to run errands in Soho. Walked in around 12:45pm a couple days ago (Thursday) and unfortunately the lunch specials are gone and their menu is drastically smaller. I understand that small businesses and restaurants are doing what they can to survive in this economy, but it is still disappointing to see. I used to be able to get a delicious entree for lunch with tip & tax under $25. Now? They only offer 1 type of meat (steak) for the Pad Kee Mao and charge $28. There is literally no other option for protein so you have to get steak. This was the same for other dishes from what I remember. You no longer have options to switch out the protein for a lot (if not all) of the dishes. The beef was cooked well, but the noodles were too salty and the portion sizes are smaller compared to other Thai restaurants. The service was also not the friendliest or that attentive when I visited. There aren't too many Thai restaurants in this general area, so they don't have too much competition but with there being so many Thai restaurants in other neighboring areas, I will no longer go out of my way to come here.

I had an amazing time at CHADA! I came in with a friend and we got a last minute reservation. We were seated immediately in their next door indoor dining area, and it was beautiful. Dimly lit, yet spacious. Service was excellent and our server was so kind to check in on us often and welcome us with her bright smile. The food also came out relatively quick. We got the Khao Soy and Beef Tallow Fried Rice. I heard CHADA does the best Khao Soy in the city, and they may be right. The Khao Soy was perfect in every way. Creamy, generous, a little spicy, delicious! I hesitantly marked down a star because of the Beef Tallow Fried Rice dish. Unfortunately, our beef came out dry, but the fried rice itself was tangy---potentially from fish sauce(?), which I loved! The rice paired well with the Khao Soy too! I loved my time here and will definitely come back!

Fantastic and unique Thai cuisine at Chada! 4.5/5 stars! My friends and I made a res for a Saturday evening. They have a beautiful, heated patio and seating inside. Service was efficient, but I took a star off because we felt a bit rushed in an unfriendly way. Drink: The Last Kiss of Spring - perfectly sweet, tart, and refreshing! Apps: Folded Dumplings and Brussel Sprouts - the dumplings were amazing! Loved the peanut filling. The Brussels were perfectly crispy and were coated in a delicious savory/spicy sauce. Mains: Pad Thai and Massaman Curry - One of the best Pad Thai's I've ever had! The sweetness of the tamarind sauce was to die for. The curry was also fantastic - slightly spicy and loved the peanuty flavor.

Upscale Thai food. Was a good idea to make a reservation for 7 of us. Pretty packed when we walked in 4:35 they actually only open for dinner at 4:30pm. We had Steamed branzino, short rib panang curry, duck green curry, chicken pad see ew, and a noodle with chicken. Ended with a mango sweet rice and coconut ice cream. Very happy with every dish. Especially the fish and the short rib. Services were very professional and prompt. Super nice meal prior to our concert.

CHADA was a great experience overall. I really enjoyed the space. It is spacious and well put together, which made it easy to settle in and enjoy the meal. The dishes were packed with flavor across the board. My group ordered the massaman curry and duck green curry, both of which were delicious, and I went with the khao soi. I liked that their khao soi uses boneless chicken instead of a full bone-in leg, which made it much easier to eat. My only gripe is that the portions run a bit smaller compared to other Thai spots, especially the massaman curry. Still, I would definitely come back.

Do I just love Thai food more than other food? Or is Manhattan just brimming with great Thai restaurants these days? It's a pretty room (love the ceilings, and the whole vibe really), and our server was a brusque older Asian lady (could've been my aunt) who offered the barest modicum of information about the menu and/or congeniality, but who cares about that? Not me, especially when the food is outstanding. This was one of those situations in which I wish we'd brought friends so we could share more dishes. However, we were enormously pleased with the ones we ordered. We started with the folded dumplings, which were light and the coconut milk and pickled radish paired well with the fiercely acidic bite of the corn salad. It had exactly the right amount of heat, and it's the kind of thing I wish I always had in my fridge. The braised short rib panang curry came highly recommended, and with good reason. The cook on the meat was perfect, falling apart with a spoon, and the deep, rich curry was drinkable. I find it a little hilarious that the ingredients listed on the menu are... Braised Short Rib, Coconut Milk, Homemade Curry Paste, Brussels Sprout. ...because we literally had one brussels sprout in the entire plate. Vegetables not a priority on this one. The Khao Soy was also one of the tastiest and most beautiful versions I've had of one of my favorite Thai dishes. The roasted chicken thigh looked a lot more fried to me, but I wasn't complaining. The blend of textures with that and the fried noodles, as well as the ones swimming in the sauce...it all came together beautifully. I also went for the "I'll Wait For Yuzu" cocktail. With tequila, sake, yuzu, black pepper and birds eye chili, it sounded a lot more interesting than a $10 Singha. I don't love that it's $22, but I guess everyone else is charging that much around here, so why not Chada. Seriously, outstanding food.

LOVELY SPOT HEHE been here twice in two weeks LOVED the pat see u 10/10, steak+fried rice was good but steak was on the more chewy side. Service was good both times; loved the fact that theres both inside and outdoor seating! Choose depending on the weather and ur mood! Both amazing vibes. Not loud indoors was nice too. Mango sticky rice was amazing. I thought it was a bit sweeter than usual but if you have a sweet tooth you'll love it!

Beautiful restaurant went for lunch and sat indoors. The servers were very attentive and the food was very tasty and prepared well. The pad see ew was delectable. The pad kea mow was also good a little too spicy for me. Overall great experience can't wait to try other items. Only downside is that you can't substitute proteins on the dishes.

Heard that this was one of the best Thai restaurants ranked in the city and I can see why people think that. I'm a tough critic on Thai food, especially in the city and I felt that it was okay. Especially in Manhattan, prices are so crazy (and I get why) but there's also this dolled-up-ness to it, which I also kind of understand. That out of the way, Chada was solid and the meal was definitely satisfactory and authentic. I think the Thai scene in NYC is just so stiff, but it's a great lively place to take your friends since they have a lot of seats (I would make a reservation in advance). If you're here for a date, you might be seated at one of several two-seater tables with lively/loud conversation - not the best place to catch despite going on a weekday.

Thai food in NYC always hits! Chada has such an authentic taste with bold flavors. We ordered the shrimp pad Thai, the khao soi, crispy tofu, and crab fried rice. My favorite was definitely the khao soi! It had such rich flavors and I loved the contrast between the soft and crispy noodles. My rule of thumb is I have to order pad Thai at any Thai place. If the pad Thai isn't good, then it says a lot about the restaurant. However, Chada blew me away and I loved the interior of the restaurant as well. The waiter was very on top of filling our waters everytime and make sure to get a reservation if you're checking out this place!

    Thai Iced Tea

Food was decent but it was so cold in the restaurant that it took away from the taste. Everything got cold fast. They have a special Thai coconut tea that was unique and really good though. Something that bothered me was that they put an auto grat of 20% on a party of 5....that is unheard of. Servers weren't even attentive and they didn't put serving spoons/forks for the dishes. Missed one of my orders as well. All of which is not a big deal, but to impose an auto grat for that kind of service...ridiculous. Never heard of an auto grat for less than 6 pax.

My friend and I were heading somewhere else for dinner, but our original spot was closed for a private event. We decided to pivot and come here instead, and it worked out very much in our favor! I actually just got back from a trip to Thailand, so I went in with high hopes but a curious mind about how the authenticity and flavors would compare. While there were naturally a few little differences in taste here and there compared to being on the ground in Thailand, it didn't dim the deliciousness whatsoever. The food here is absolutely stellar. We decided to sit at the bar, and both bartenders who looked after us were incredibly friendly, helpful, and super clear when explaining the specials. I asked one of them for their favorite recommendations, and it did not disappoint. Here is what we ordered: Pineapple Fried Rice ($21): We ordered it without adding any protein, and it was packed with flavor. Highly recommend. Pad Thai ($24): We added beef to this one, but honestly, the noodles were so incredibly flavorful on their own that it didn't even need the additive! Thong Pan Sai Gai ($17): These looked almost like little tacos but were uniquely delicious. Papaya Salad ($16) & Satay Spring Rolls ($16): Perfect, fresh starters to kick off the meal. Mango Sticky Rice ($17): A must try for dessert. They use purple rice for this, and it was so yummy. For drinks, my friend ordered a Lycheetini ($19) and loved it. She said that any stir-fry could be churned out within a few minutes, and recommended noodles or fried rice. We ordered vegetarian Pad Kee Mao (spicy drunken noodles) and Basil Fried Rice. Sure enough both dishes turned up within a few minutes. The portions were much bigger than we expected - well, no matter, we were hungry! And both dishes tasted fresh, flavorful, authentic and satisfying, with our votes leaning a bit more towards Pad Kee Mao :-). When the waitress mentioned "Tofu" we thought we'd get the usual cubes, but their version was the more fluffy Tofu puff. The menu is bilingual in English and Hong Kong Chinese, to which our Thai waitress explained that it was due to the cultural combination of the owners: one partner is Thai while the other Chinese.
