Stumbled into this spot and wow it's so cute, vibrant and out there! They have a lot of twists on classic thai dishes which was cool to see. We ordered the udon and pad see ew with both coming out in 10 minutes. The noodles were steaming and the aroma from them was how I knew they were going to be good. They didn't skimp out on the sauce or protein. Noodles were slightly chewy coated in sticky, sour sauce with a slight bit of sweetness. The udon was also so flavorful and had a bit of kick. Service was great as well, they were so nice. Top tier thai food!!
It's really nice having a halal option for thai food and this place hits the spot. They have a full page of mocktails and i just got a coconut slushy which was delicious made with real chunks of coconut pulp. We also got the crab rangoons and i got the fried rice with the thai skirt steak. They cooked the steak perfectly and i picked a medium spice level, which had just the right kick of spice in each bite. The crab rangoons were good but tiny for the price and there was a lot of tumeric in them for some reason. Overall i'd come back for the food! The portions are decent and the protein to carb ratio is so good. There's seating indoors and outdoors and there's nothing pretentious so you can dine quickly by yourself in a chill environment. The service was nice too.
Great experience!!! We had the appetizer sampler, the Khao Soi and the crispy duck curry. As someone who has spent a decent amount of time in Thailand this was a great authentic meal! There is some amazing Thai in NYC but often it's very expensive and this place is the opposite. Affordable, quality, fun and authentic. Everything we had was great and service was quick and easy. This is by no means an elevated place the decor brings me back to Thailand in the best way. It's super casual with great service and great food - I will be back!
Great Thai restaurant in West Village with a cool interior and tasty food. I ordered the pineapple fried rice with mixed seafood ($31), which was a big portion of delicious fried rice. There was a good mix of different seafood in there including shrimp, scallops, squid, and mussels. The squid was a tad on the chewy side but the other ingredients were all good. I will say though that on the menu, it showed the fried rice being served in an actual pineapple while in reality, it just came out in a plain white bowl, which seemed quite misleading. I also tried the Top Thai spring rolls - they were good but for $17, it seemed a bit overpriced. I think the best part of Top Thai is the interior, which has some colorful and funky Thai-themed decor throughout. There is a lively atmosphere and while it was busy, we were still able to get a same-day reservation for weekend lunch. The service was fine, but I thought our waitress could've been a bit more attentive. Overall, Top Thai has a really nice environment and good food, so despite my few points for improvement, it still strongly deserves at least 4 stars.
OHHHH MYYYY FOODDDIEEEE! So glad my bf and I found this Thai restaurant on our first night in New York. We arrived around 7pm and waited roughly 45mins. Thank god we put our name on the waitlist on Yelp. This place gets packedddd so definitely come when you aren't starving to wait. Food: 10/10 We ordered the fried calamari, panang curry with crispy duck, grilled steak with 5 spiced sauce, and mango sticky rice. Everything was phenomenal. The steak was cooked to perfection. The duck on the other hand was the highlight of the show. The skin was crispy and the meat was soft and juicy, perfect pairing with the curry. Highly recommend ordering the crispy duck panang curry. Atmosphere: 8/10 It is a small restaurant. Very packed. The tables are very close to each other where you can hear other peoples conversation. We loved the interior design of this restaurant. It really felt like we were in Asia. Service: 8/10 It took a good 10mins for our waitress to come since it was so busy. Our waitress was wonderful and made sure everything was to our liking. Definitely can't wait to come visit New York again just for this restaurant to try other dishes. We left full and so satisfied.
This was my first time trying Thai food and I had the best time. The restaurant had such a cute vibe and the ambiance was amazing. We got our order in 15min. We ordered Tom Yum mixed seafood noodles soup, spicy basil fried rice and dumplings. All of the dishes were full of flavor and delicious My favorite was definitely tom yum , the lemon grass soup seemed to be the perfect choice in rainy weather. Lychee mojito was a cherry on top. Also the staff is super friendly and polite. They kept filling the water cups for the customers I will definitely try it again
Food, service, and wait times were all solid across the board. Nothing felt rushed or dragged out. It all came out at a nice pace. The food itself tasted great, not overdone or heavy, and portions were just right. The Thai iced tea especially hit the mark. Water was filled quickly. Only real downside was the noise situation. There seemed to be a birthday celebration every 10 minutes, and each one came with the same loud music blast and the same birthday song on repeat. It kind of breaks the flow of the meal after a while. Once in a bit is fine, but it felt like it was on a loop. Limit it to 1 hour minimum between celebrations.

Saw the good reviews, took a chance and ordered via Doordash. Delivery was super fast! I was totally blown away by the quality of the food. Super fresh, authentic Thai cuisine. I had the Thai Chicken fried rice and my wife had the Shrimp pad thai that with glass noodle done perfectly well. Top Thai definitely lives up to its name!
New York's cutest Thai place hands down. The decor of this place was so well thought out. It's packed with college kids and locals. It does get loud and a little tricky to talk. It's great for large parties. They have an amazing happy hour with huge drinks. The food comes out quickly and is packed with flavor and presentation is on point. Reservations are necessary unless you are lucky enough to get a spot at the bar.
My favorite Thai spot in nyc! I used to go to their original location, but this one is significantly bigger. It's so cozy and cutely decorated too! We got the early bird special, which our server told us that it would be less than the full-sized entree. It was soo much for us! Lol way too much food but no complaints and I appreciate her trying to look out for us. I got the basil udon, which never disappoints. My husband got the pad see ew with skirt steak and it was so good! The early bird special also comes with an appetizer and drink, and is a good value. The service was great as we kept getting our water refilled and were checked on frequently. I love Top Thai and will always come back!

The Yelp Rating for this place had me a bit worried. Would it live up to the hype? Thankfully the answer is an unqualified yes. This was a terrific Thai restaurant and we throughly enjoyed our meal. The curry puffs? Divine. The larb chicken? Well the "medium" spicy was warm enough that I wouldn't want the "hot" version. But I pushed through the heat because it was great. And the khao soi soup? I love this dish in general and this one didn't disappoint at all. Lots of chicken and noodles. We also got the basil duck with noodles and that too was excellent with a lot of duck. Service was efficient and the place has a very unique interior with a great vibe. Big thumbs up. read more

This was my first time trying Thai food and I had the best time. The restaurant had such a cute vibe and the ambiance was amazing. We got our order in 15min. It was a good Thai restaurant which is Halal. The wait can be long but worth it. The dishes are delicious but portions are small. Well it is in NYC so you cannot complain about it though. The atmosphere is vibrant and cheerful. Overall worth to check out. read more

One of the best restaurants for large groups of people imo! Came here with a reservation for a group of 7 on a Monday night and the service was amazing. Water was always full, never had to flag anyone down, waiters were friendly and hilarious. My friend and I split 1 starter and 1 entree and we were stuffed. The crispy calamari tasted incredibly fresh, tangy, and savory and I would definitely order it again. The Panang curry with duck was amazing as well, and the portion of duck meat was huge. I'll definitely be coming back to try more of their dishes + their mango sticky rice when it's in season! read more
This is one of the few halal-friendly Thai spots in NYC so I took my Muslim friend for a lovely lunch here to try their food and new cocktails! The new cocktails for their happy hour in 2026 are the Espresso Martini, Caribbean Kiwi, and Fruit Punch Martini. All 3 were quite good! I also liked their rich and creamy Thai Iced Tea and their mocktails. The Rose Margarita and The Ocean are pretty and nice for a photo or video. We tried the Appetizer Platter and we chose to do the Grilled Skirt Steak with "Jeaw Sauce". Crab Rangoon, and Crispy Basil Roll. The steak was cooked a nice medium-rare and was yummy. The Basil Udon with Crispy Duck is their very popular noodle dish here which I liked. I just don't like bamboo shoots so next time I'd ask them to take it out of the dish. The Shrimp & Crab Meat Fried Rice was packed with fresh shrimp and crab. The Whole Fish Red Snapper with 3 Flavors Sauce blew me away. It's very crispy, boneless, and flavorful. For dessert, we got the new Pandan Toast Bread with Ice-Cream. It was sweet but comforting. You will get incredible service and feel like you're in the streets of Thailand once you're seated here. Shoutout to our server Muay who was very kind and attentive. It's big inside and they have a really nice and clean bathroom area. read more

This is solid casual sit down table order or take out affordable traditional Thai food Resturant with amazing food and a very extensive menu. Service was excellent with all dishes served at perfect time and water filled regularly and extra attention. I was surprised to not see my favorite noodle dish Pad Kee Mao on the menu and inquired. The very accommodating excellent waitress pointed out that one of the bitches was Poki, but served with udon noodles and then I could substitute out for the big fat wide rice Noodles (or even Glass Noodles). The glass noodles sounded delightful, but I wanted a traditional Noodles. Oh my goodness these are the best big rice noodles I've had such a long time. They were so so thick and cooked perfectly! It had green beans eggplant and That basil and a perfect spice and served piping hot. My husband also had a special order because he's on low sodium diet and they accommodated him with the steak and steamed fries and salad. My daughter is a regular here and always gets the fresh rolls with tofu and the tom yum soup with chicken substituted for shrimp which she loves. The only criticism I have is the cleanliness of the walls and cabinetry in the bathroom area and right outside of the kitchen. Makes me wonder a bit about the kitchen.. When we come to visit, our daughter, will be regulars at Top Thai! read more

Been here again few time before and post lunch menu changes (went from $16 to $19) The lunch special is NOT particularly a great deal. Previously as early as 3 months ago, it used to be $16 for an app ( spring rolls, clear soup or side salad) and entree. Then it would be $1/$2 add on for soda or tea/thai tea/Shirley temple etc. Now. Its $19 flat price for the app/entree/"free" drink which includes boba tea as an option if desired. The deal isn't really a great deal as the portions are small and there is the same add on prices for proteins other than veggie/tofu. (Ie: grilled steak is $6 so the lunch special would end up being $25) Flavor is alright. It can be a bit saucy / salty but portion size for the pricing is really the bummer. Desserts are ALL $17 (ie: ice cream scoop & chocolate cake (similar to apple bees cake) is $17). Candles are $3 extra. There is NO more "free" dessert for birthdays that previous customers have noted. If you bring a cake to cut, it is $3 surcharge fee per person add on. You can waive the fee if you buy a dessert. Overall, there are better lunch specials around the neighborhood. If you take a look at the various lunch pictures I've posted, you will see the portions are pretty small for the value. Would not recommend for first intro to thai. read more

I really like this place. Took a friend out to dinner here for her birthday. She has a lot of food allergies and out server was very attentive and good at making sure that nothing was prepared that she was allergic to. Their drink cocktails menu was extensive. They have an assortment of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. We ordered the duck rolls as an appetizer along with the shrimp and crab meat, fried rice, and the chicken fried rice. Everything was delicious the fried rice taste super fresh well seasoned didn't need any sauces or toppings to make it any better than it was. If you are ever in the area, I highly recommend stopping by. They also have a very unique, fun and colorful decor. The bathrooms were also clean and tidy. read more
Solid spot - came for a birthday dinner with the fam. The waiters are super nice and kept refilling our water. I'm not sure if the Thai flavors here are super authentic, but the food is solid. We shared a large beef soup, the flavors were good here. I liked the broth and the meatballs inside. Also used chili oil to give the soup some heat. We got the Thai app sampler: wings, calamari, and spring rolls. The wings were a hit - the seasoning was great! Everything else was ok. Nothing to write home about. I tried the spicy udon stir fried noodles with crispy duck. The duck was a bit dry, but the noodles were tasty. Too much sauce in the dish though. Solid if you're in the neighborhood but def better Thai spots to try in the city. read more

Surprisingly very yummy! Got a reservation 2 hours before we were supposed to come, which was great. - Classic Thai Mule - It was happy hour so each cocktail was $10 so I had to try it out. Honestly I'm not really sure what's the difference between a Moscow Mule and Thai Mule. The waiter said that the Thai version had some basil inside but I thought it tasted around the same. I did really liked the sugarcane though! - Grilled Skirt Steak with Fried Rice - I honestly really liked this dish and the fried rice was absolutely delicious as it was full of that meaty flavor. I thought the skirt steak was quite good as well especially when it first came out of the edges were a bit crispy. I will say when it got a bit colder, the steak went a little limp and was not as good as before. - Crispy Duck Panang Curry - I am absolutley obsessed with this dish. The curry was very rich and went extremely well with the rice, but the true star was the duck which was extremely crispy. I think this was one of the best made ducks I've had in the city as the meat itself was also incredibly tender. Great Thai restaurant and I will be back to eat the crispy duck. read more

Every single person at this spot needs a RAISE. My goodness from the lovely bartender, to Opal our amazing waitress, the servers, THE CHEFS. This is customer service. I felt valued and appreciated. Had such a fun dinner at Top Thai Vintage! We ordered the drunken noodles, shrimp fried rice, and the ribeye with green curry--everything was so flavorful and cooked perfectly. My personal favorite was the ribeye; it was tender and paired so well with the creamy curry sauce. The portions were great for sharing too. The vibe here is really lively and cute. They have this little Instagram sign they bring out, and if you're celebrating a birthday, the staff actually sings and makes it a whole moment. Super fun and thoughtful touches like that really made the night memorable. Definitely recommend if you're looking for tasty Thai food and a place that makes birthdays feel special! read more

Walked in on a Saturday night around 7PM and it was packed! Was told to sit at the bar to wait for a table, but ended up eating there as the host didn't get back to us on a table - assuming because it was too busy. Top Thai is pretty big inside and has nice decor. I came here on a weekday and wouldn't recommend coming here without a reservation. I had a reservation but heard some people without one were waiting for hours. For appetizer I got the spicy corn salad. It was really good and I would get it again for sure. Also a very unique dish. There were lots of mocktail options in addition to the cocktails, which was nice as I hadn't seen that much before. I ordered the blue mocktail and it was super pretty but the taste wasn't that good especially for having no alcohol. I was disappointed at the lack of vegetarian options here, especially since Thai spots usually have lots of them. There were no noodles I could get as everything had fish broth so I ended up getting the green curry. It was just okay. read more

Happy hour prices for drinks before 7pm! Alcohol and non Started with the papaya salad - Som Tum. Honestly this dish had me worried, the salad was missing the balance of sour, sweet, spicy. It also tasted like it had black pepper in it which wasn't quite the heat I expected in this dish. The green papaya was crudely cut and took away from the delicate texture experience. What came next was the Whole Branzino with lime. I was speechless at the preparation, one of the best branzinos I've had in a long time. This dish had beautifully layered flavors marinating a perfectly steamed whole fish. Don't skip the cheek meat! The depth of the fish dish surely rectified my lackluster som tum experience. The service was pretty hands off which I appreciated in such a bustling, tightly packed restaurant. You order your food and enjoy the company. No rush to leave. Decor inside is cool, some relics from an analog past. Cool to check out as I was walking to the restroom. read more

Came here on a busy night and it was packed -- clearly a neighborhood favorite. Small, cute, cozy spot in the West Village with a line outside, but the wait was worth it. Ordered the skirt steak fried rice and skirt steak udon and both were really good. The steak was tender, flavorful, and well cooked, and the portions were satisfying without being too heavy. Everything tasted fresh and well seasoned. Also had the Thai iced coffee -- sweet, but still had a strong coffee flavor, which I loved. Bonus: if it's your birthday, they come out singing with sparklers, which made the whole place feel even more fun and lively. Also note that everything is halal :) Great food, great energy -- I'd definitely come back. read more

My husband and I have had Top Thai on our must try list for years and after hearing from an inside source there was going to be a must try Thai place that was going to open. After finally making the trek from Jersey, it exceeded the high expectations we already had. We already knew the cocktails were going to be amazing (inside source and lychee martinis all day) and we were lucky enough to arrive after a newly updated menu fresh off a trip to Thailand. The duck spring rolls, dumpling platter, calamari salad, and duck special were more than enough to fill three people but we just had to try the crab Rangoon which was worth every overstuffed bite. No room for the noodles so another reason to comeback. It wasn't just the food that was amazing but the whole vibe was cheerful and happy. Every birthday dessert felt like a singalong by the whole restaurant. Can't wait to come back! read more
