    Chive Rice Cakes
    Chanda A.

Went here earlier this week for a small family birthday celebration. Thai restaurants are always hit or miss with vegetarian options, and Malii sits somewhere in the middle. I've had bad experiences with fish sauce/shrimp paste in "vegetarian" items at Thai restaurants, and I appreciated that they clearly labeled items that are genuinely vegetarian or vegan. I ordered the Chive Rice Cakes and the Massamun curry with tofu and vegetables (the only veggie curry option). The rice cakes are fried triangles of rice with chives and come in a pretty hefty portion. They're a little blah on their own, but good with the sweet soy sauce. Also, these were a toddler hit! I was expecting the Massamun curry to pack a little heat, but it was on the sweet side instead, so that was a disappointment. Also, it felt a little short on tofu. The restaurant itself is smallish with a clean/modern look including adorable bird lighting fixtures that I loved. It's reasonably priced, and they were consistently busy even on a Monday, which gave it a lively energy. Overall, not a bad experience, but I won't be rushing to go back.

Panang curry and pad see ew

This is a really solid lunch spot in Gramercy Park, offering classic Thai dishes with a few creative ones as well. I came for lunch and booked a spot through Resy - and they have some nice, inexpemsive lunch specials. The panang curry was solid - good quantity and tasted good, although was a little less spicy that I would have expected. The pad see ew on the other hand was very delicious, and I'd definitely recommend it! I'd say if you do come here, it'd be worth checking out their more special dishes; the panang curry and pad see ew were solid but not too unique to the many other Thai spots in the area. On the other hand, I've heard great things about their other dishes like the Lychee Duck Curry, so consider trying those more special dishes! Overall - a solid spot with good options but maybe stick to their more creative dishes to get a more unique experience!

This place was packed on a Thursday at 2pm. My server offered tap water right away without the upsell to still or sparkling, which I appreciated. The space seats about forty people and has a beautiful, modern decor. It was loud during my lunch and the din of voices clashed with the soft music playing in the background. I ordered the lunch special, which comes with an appetizer and entree. I started with the seaweed and tofu soup, which was tasty. Next up was the sautéed garlic entree with beef, steamed broccoli, and carrots in a garlic pepper sauce. It also came with a side of hot sauce on the side that had a nice pop of spice and a little sweetness. The food came out quickly and was delicious. Decent portions and a good lunch deal overall!

This is specifically for the Winter Restaurant 2026 Menu. I personally got the seared scallop salad, pad ped (beef brisket), and churros with pandan dipping sauce. Overall, the food was okay, my group and I felt like most dishes were lacking depth of flavor, but it was a good deal for restaurant week ($45 for 3 courses). My highlight was the seared scallop salad, but it only came with 2 pieces of scallops and the rest was onions and dressing. A cute spot, but kind of small. Service was great though!

Saw on IG added to list to check out. Safe to say I was not disappointed. When I say this is my new favorite spot. Within the past month i've been 3x. Your tastebuds will thank you. Extremely flavorful in every bite. Cosy intimate setting. If in the neighborhood definitely stop in. It's on the smaller side and gets very busy. Reservations highly recommended.

This place is busy! And rightfully so- the food was good. I loved the seasonal pumpkin curry. I would skip the egg roll and go with the chicken skewers. I did find some of the food a little on the bland side, perhaps that's a personal preference as I enjoy Thai food with heat and explosion of flavors. We tried to order the mocktails but they were out. Instead we ended up getting lychee martini, it was tasty if you are looking for a martini with just a hint of sweet. The location is smaller, as most of boutique places in New York are, I recommend trying to get a reservation in advance. The ambiance is casual-upscale. It was a friend and I sitting next to a couple of a date. Better for smaller groups as it gives a more intimate setting. The location was bright and well ups-kept. There's no nearby parking so take your chance or uber/walk over.

We met for lunch at Malii Gramercy. It's a small, stylish restaurant, with limited seating. We were able to order from a set Restaurant Week menu. I ordered a An Chan drink -- butterfly pea infused rum, tequila, lychee juice, lime juice, Thai spicy rim. It was a pretty lilac color, though strong, and with an indistinguishable flavor. I also ordered the Cho Muang, which was butterfly pea flower dumplings filled with caramelized shallots, sweet turnips, and peanuts served with crispy garlic, and lettuce. This was a lovely light blue color and was delicious. My main dish was Tay Po, choice of fried branzino or fried tofu (I picked tofu) served with sweet and sour tamarind red curry sauce and water spinach. This was very spicy, almost a little too spicy for me. Service was friendly, for our large party. The food tasted great, looked beautiful (a little spicy), and this was a nice and relaxing meal for our group.

I went to Malii Gramercy over the weekend for a lunch special. The Pad Thai with chicken was amazing. I also had myself a small appetizer. I enjoyed myself some spring rolls. The service was exceptional, I wasn't rushed, and was asked if I was doing okay a couple of times while dining at the restaurant. I accompanied my meal with a lychee ginger beer. The lychee ginger beer was phenomenal. The ambiance here is great for a date night, catching up with your girlfriends/bros and bringing your parents to come out and enjoy delicious Thai cuisine. I would definitely recommend this Thai restaurant and would like to come again to try more of their menu offerings. 10/10 Thai restaurant in NY.

Really cute interior with solid Thai options. Came here with a group for dinner and we all loved our dishes. I got the sweet vermicelli noodles with tofu, and the spice level was perfect, with a kick but not too spicy. The Thai iced tea my friend ordered was also delicious. A little pricey but for the space and quick service, a solid spot!

    Thai Sizzling Roti. Must-try!
    Foodie E.

Ranked One of NYC's 20 Best Restaurants by Tasting Table! We started with the Malii Platter -- perfect if you want a little bit of everything to share. Then it just kept getting better: Lychee Duck Curry -- rich, slightly sweet, super comforting Soft Shell Crab Curry -- crispy + saucy in the best way Lemongrass Sea Bass -- fresh, fragrant, and addictive Clay Pot Rice -- My Favorite! Smoky, savory, and so satisfying (don't skip this) Pad Ped (slow-cooked beef brisket) -- one of their specials, insanely tender and packed with flavors And you have to try their Thai sizzling roti dessert. Crispy, buttery roti served on a hot sizzling plate with melting Thai tea ice cream... the contrast alone makes it a MUST TRY. Come hungry... and save room for that sizzling dessert. The service was friendly, attentive, and the food arrived quickly even they were a full house and rush lunch hour. Very quick and our server was amazing! We started with mango salad and chicken satay as these were the most popular. Their salad was purely mango with cashews and cherry tomatoes. Their chicken satay was also to die for! It was very flavorful and was perfect and went well with the salad. Their pad thai was so perfect it brought me back to when we visited Thailand few years ago. The crispy pork belly was a standout for me perfectly crispy on the outside, tender and juicy inside, with just the right amount of richness. (Reminds me of Filipino Lechon Kawali) The fresh bean sprouts, scallions, and squeeze of lime balanced everything out beautifully. The soft shell crab in creamy curry egg sauce was also a must try! And lastly, we tried their mango sticky rice!! Absolutely no words... IT WAS DIVINE!!! If you're looking for authentic Thai food with elevated presentation, generous portions, and excellent service, Mitr Thai is definitely worth the visit. I'll absolutely be coming back to try more dishes!

I'm surprised people queued and surprised they actually lock people out. They have a policy of only seating whole parties. My friends were literally stuck amongst the world cup crowds in Times Square such that they struggled to get through and had to detour when they did. They have a 10 minute grace period, but my friends wouldn't make it in time, so I asked if they'll let us sit first as long as we start ordering immediately. They said ok as long as we returned the table by 6:30pm. I thought the 1.5 hour seating time was based on when we actually get seated which considers the grace period. Anyways the timing ended up being sufficient. I think this spot is good for pre-theatre dining due to the large storefront and quick service, but I wouldn't necessarily choose to come here for the sake of coming. Their menu is extensive and slightly confusing given the way they organize by regions in Thailand. I'm uncultured so I won't know what's the difference between each region. It's easier for me to comprehend if the menu was categorized by the ingredients used or size of the dish. Most dishes do not have a photo/drawing included so it was hard to skim through all the options. Their online ordering was way more helpful since it had photos. It was so hard to look for the corresponding line item in the printed version. We ordered: green curry, kao soy kua neur, khao mok neua, curry puff, kaeng hung lay, gai gor lae, and mango sticky rice. Most of the stuff tasted alright without much standout. We requested mild/little spicy for everything and it was true to request. The spiciest dish was probably the green curry, but I think it's tolerable if you eat it with rice. Crowd favorite was the kao soy kua neur which is braised beef with egg noodles. I like how tender the beef is and how chewy the noodles were. My friends didn't like the khao mok neua biryani because of its dryness, but I think it's meant to be like that. I appreciate the spices in it, not too strong but still sufficient. I don't like how they don't have a printed menu for desserts and relied on the servers to recite out what's available. We couldn't hear everything properly and resorted to referencing the online ordering menu for the dessert options. Glad they're the same. Mango sticky rice was the highlight of the night for me. The mango size could be slightly bigger, because right now it's much smaller than the rice. However, I enjoyed the rice a lot. It was hot, fragrant, and not too soft. It definitely felt comforting. The coconut milk on the side had rice puffs (?) in it which gave additional texture.

I first ordered the crispy spring rolls, which were very good. For my main I had the Massaman Curry. Now folks, this is my favorite curry of all time -- actually one of my favorite foods of all time -- and while it's common in LA where I used to live, it's not as common where I live now, in the Bay Area. And the restaurants that do carry it usually do not make it right and it's not very good. I am used to Massaman in the traditional preparation where it's more like a beef stew made with chunks of beef and needs to cook overnight. When done right it is the most aromatic curry ever -- it's almost like an aphrodisiac! -- and the beef comes out oh so tender. Usually if places have this curry but then offer a choice of protein, then it generally is not cooked properly, and that is actually how they prepare it at SaiTong. But because of such great reviews I decided to take a chance and try it. Well, let me tell you, it was definitely not the norm...it was absolutely delicious! I had it with chicken (they serve breast as default), and the chicken soaked up the curry really nicely. I also asked for there to be no onions, which I think alters the flavor of a curry too much. It does include the traditional potatoes and peanuts, and the potatoes were fine and cut into nice little chunks, the peanuts actually were thrown in raw.. what I think is the more traditional way which is to actually burn the peanuts a little bit, but that's okay, it didn't take down the dish any. Their brown rice is of the very dark kind, which I like, and goes so well with the curry. Service was wonderful from the bartender but was also provided by the rest of the staff and everyone was so nice. I left there feeling so satisfied, and cannot wait to go back and try some other dishes.
