Great flavors and unique dishes. Found it hard to choose what to get as there were a lot of interesting dishes that I wanted to try. Went with the crab fried rice, duck gra pow, shrimp cake and curry puff. I should note I did take out and not dine in, so textually and temperature wise would be different when served inside. Shrimp cake was alright, interesting texture, thought it might have been fish cake. Didn't really taste a lot of shrimp. Curry puff with the sweet tangy sauce was one of my favorites. Great potato flavor. Crab fried rice was ok, it didn't stand out to me much, and the crab meat was a bit dense/chewy. I had a crab shell in mine as well, it's bound to happen when eating crab. Duck gra pow was another favorite of mine. Flavor wise it was pretty good! Very saucy, a bit on the salty side which I like. The duck meat was a bit hard, maybe a tad bit overcooked, but I still found it really enjoyable. Inside has a number of seating, a bit on the darker side with lighting. Staff was super friendly. I was looking at the menu out front and they came a couple times to check on us if we wanted to eat in. The wait was not long at all, food was served within a few minutes of us placing the order Overall not bad, I hope to eat there again but dine in next time instead of takeout.

Visiting from Chicago and got this recommendation from a friend and it was good! The papaya salad was just the right amount of spice and the drunken noodle was good and spicy. Just know medium spice is a little spicier than usual. The Thai tea was really good and not like other places. I liked how we came in during lunch hour and they had specials going in. The staff were really nice and the ambiance inside was so cute. Would definitely come back.

While in town for the day I came in for a late lunch. The staff were all nice but especially Emmy our waitress. She was polite, knowledgeable and helpful on suggestions. We made it in time for lunch specials. My friend and I ordered the red curry, shrimp with mixed vegetables and shrimp pad Thai. We ordered chicken satay for an appetizer. Everything was shareable so it worked out perfectly. Definitely will go again

Price: $20-$30 Ordered takeout for a joint Galentine's Day/Lunar New Year/Roommate Dinner gathering. Not the most friendly online ordering system. No comments on service or ambiance. *would recommend What I Ordered: - Tom Ka Soup*: very lime forward, lots of toppings - Pad See Ew*: good wok hei + noodle chew - Pad Thai: slightly sweet, classic - Duck Noodle Soup*: umami broth, hearty chunks of duck - Massaman Curry: slightly spicy, runny, classic - Crispy Pork Chinese Broccoli: slightly sweet, probs better for dine-in - Larb Gai: good variety, cilantro heavy - Pineapple Fried Rice: not that fragrant, adequate amount of pineapple, veggie heavy - Protein Choice Shrimp: plump, large, adequate - Protein Choice Chicken: tender, white meat, plentiful

This is one of my top 3 Thai places in Hell's Kitchen! I really like their food and service. The servers are very quick and friendly. They give great recommendations and are very knowledgeable about the menu. The vibe is minimal, bright and clean. There isn't any music in the background so it's easy to chat with your party. However, I wish they had a full liquor license because they only server beer, wine and sake based cocktails for alcoholic beverages. Their bottles of wine aren't too expensive so I often buy them by the bottle. There are no reservations unless you are a party of 6 or larger, but I usually walk in as a group of 4 or less and are able to sit within 10-20 minutes at it's busiest. They do a really good job at the basics like pad thai, pad se-Iew and pad kra prow(spicy). I really like their beef noodle soup because it is very flavorful and has a nice spice kick to it. I also enjoy their khao soy (curry soup with noodles). I think their chef specials with crispy marinated pork are overcooked and very chewy, but not crispy.

Relatively busy when we came in but we were seated quickly. The tables are bit tight together but we managed. Sadly I was basic and ordered the pad Thai with shrimp but it was delicious and the meal really hit. It was flavorful, warm, and nicely presented. Service was ok, I wish they had come by with water more often, but they were busy. I'd like to come back and be more adventurous surrounding the menu next time I visit.

Loved this place! The Thai food was so delicious and we asked for it extra spicy. WOW. They certainly fulfilled that request. The garlic prawns were my favorite dish by far. They were so good. I would have eaten 4 plates of them, easy. Papaya salad was authentic and spicy! My part was mostly Thai, so I took their word for it. They ordered all the best dishes and were also impressed. The whole fish was crispy and fresh and also a table favorite. The inside is spacious enough for an NYC eatery and the location is good. I will return to this place, as it has some pretty awesome Thai food.

Key Mao Noodle, ordered mild, just a touch of spice. Rich and flavorful and chock full of vegetables.

Wondee would get 5 stars if it weren't so cramped and loud. It's hard to hold a conversation. But the food is terrific, and there are great options for those who like it spicy, and for those who don't. Also a lot of vegetables here, which isn't always the case at Thai restaurants.

SO and I were in the neighborhood and stopped here for a quick New Year's dinner. The interior has been nicely updated and refreshed since we last visited a few years ago. The food and service are still excellent.

This Thai place was pretty busy on a Saturday evening. We put our names down and came back. Wait was not too bad. We got a corner table for the four of us. The appetizers were good and the entrees did not take very long to come after. Pricing is reasonable and similar to other Thai places in the area.

I was excited to try Thai Food, and heard Wondee Siam was the place to go! We came here with no reservation, but were able to organize a table for seven in ten minutes. The place is decently sized with lots of seating. Our server was great and helped us with our large order and pick out top dishes. We got a variety and they all came out quick! My favorites were the Pad Thai noodles and steamed veggies. Their papaya salad was also good, and Tom Yum tangy without it overpowering anything. The pineapple fried rice was also great and simple. The Pla Rad Prig fish was great, but slightly too saucey, I would maybe try another type. I couldn't find the catfish in the catfish salad, was it fried underneath? Otherwise I had a great experience and service always checked in on us.

Andrew R.

The food here is pretty good. I had a pork dish with string beans, and the pork was a bit chewy and the string beans were a bit undercooked, but it was still tasty. I also tried some of the minced pork which was much better. I will say both dishes had a pepper to signify 'spicy', and the minced pork had a tiny bit of spice, but the pork with the string beans had no spice whatsoever. My biggest complaint here is the service/billing. Our server wasn't the most enthusiastic about anything, and didn't really check on us the entire meal. And then when our bill came, two of the three dishes were $1 more than what was listed on the menu. $2 isn't the end of the world but that's an extremely shady practice.

Considering the hectic 48hrs of non-stop traveling and celebrations, I would've been satisfied with a simple takeout meal to end the weekend but to my surprise, one of the best experiences of the trip was yet to come. Thankfully I was blessed with great friends to recommend this exceptional establishment known as Mitr Thai in Midtown Manhattan. Though the trip was centered around a wedding, my experience here instantly became the highlight of my trip to the City. One very genuine friend arranged this dinner, making a reservation for 3 for 7:30pm. To our surprise, we actually made it from Connecticut, walked from Grand Central and to Mitr Thai at 7:25pm even though they won't seat you until your entire party is there. After passing through the scaffolding, the restaurant has a two-door entry, one host after another, leading to a quaint but alluring lobby area. We were greeted by both hosts even though we were bogged down with luggage. The space was welcoming and had a sense of elegance as there was a blend of hardwood furnishings, low lighting and a heavy dose of Thai art/fixtures. For context: Labor Day Monday, at 7-8pm, there was a steady demand as the waiting bench remained full. There were even guests standing but even as more people came in, people were being seated at a consistent rate. Our 3rd friend arrived closer to 8pm and we were seated immediately. Our bags were placed in a small room behind the host podium and we were seated 20-30 meters from the door along the wall facing the bar. The menus were very comprehensive: large, descriptive and filled with graphics that left me wondering if I could try it all. I couldn't praise our server (Mindy) enough. She knew the kitchen, bar and any/all offerings like her own name. She had individual recommendations for each of us AND ADDITIONAL OPTIONS. I listened, ordered the Short Rib Prik Kang and indulged in a Verdant Whisper (Tequila, Cucumber, Lime). I'm not sure how but our food arrived less than 15mins later! The short rib looked good enough to make the entire restaurant jealous: the curry paste glistened in the light, the aroma called my name while the garnishes winked at me. To my disbelief, as good as it looked, it tasted even better! The sauce was robust, smooth, creamy & just spicy enough. Since the ribs slid off the bone, I mixed in the white mixed rice and ate it as a meal. I can proudly say I've never had anything like it. Oh yeah, the cocktail? Smooth, refreshing and relaxing. Worth every penny. I was elated with the overall experience and chose to pay for both of my friend's meals. My only regret is not having more to tip! Mindy gave us the table to chat for another 30mins but in the back of my mind I was still enamored from the meal. I had no expectations when I entered Mitr Thai but I left with a sincere amount of praise and admiration. From cuisine to the hospitality down to the furnishings, dining here was one of the best overall experiences I've had in YEARS. I cannot say enough about this establishment and I hope they Always Strive & Prosper.

We were seated immediately on the second floor. The restaurant had a chic, sophisticated interior, with black and gold accents and wood furniture. A large spiral fringe chandelier hung from the ceiling. While the environment indeed was upscale, the food still retained that cozy, home-cooked element known to Thai cuisine. I split the short rib curry and pork cheek with my husband. The curry was creamy with a kick of heat. The beef pull-apart tender. I'm salivating just thinking about it now. The pork cheek was delicious as well. It had the taste and texture of pork belly, which paired splendidly with the sweet and tangy fish sauce it came with. Others from my party ordered the masaman curry and a type of noodle (I think it was the pad kee mao?), and they all approved of their dishes. The drinks were wonderful as well, so distinctly Thai and inventive. I highly doubt you'll find anything here that isn't excellent.

Not all midtown restaurants stay open past 10, and I was relieved to find their kitchen going strong at that hour, as well as their dining space, which was full. Turned out it was for good reason because their food was delicious. My friend and I were hoping to eat at a restaurant nearby specializing in crab, but they closed much earlier. Fortunately for us, SaiTong's menu had plenty of crab on it, and we decided to double up and make each of our entree's a crab one. The black spaghetti crab curry and crab curry noodles advertised themselves as being very different dishes in both presentation and ingredients but ended up tasting kind of similar. One was topped with deep fried crab and used a different type of noodle than the other, but the sauces were so similar. This is not to say that they didn't taste good, but I would've preferred more variance. I'm glad we got an order of papaya salad to cut the richness of the other dishes, and I also appreciated it had a nice level of heat in it. Our servers were really friendly without being overbearing, and let us linger for a bit even after we paid the bill, as it was their last seating for the evening. There are so many excellent Thai restaurants in the city and I'd put SaiTong firmly in the category of perfectly solid spots to get your Thai fix, with some special dishes on the chef's menu worth checking out.
