We had the sweetest, most feel-good experience at First Watch today From the moment we walked in, everything just felt warm and welcoming. Our food was absolutely delicious! The Power Wrap was served perfectly warm and the mushrooms were so flavorful, the chocolate chip pancakes (with that warm maple syrup ) were such a treat, and the farmhouse hash was hearty and comforting. The fruit was beautiful, ripe, and juicy, and the avocado was literally perfect. You can just tell when food is made with care, and this was it. The ambience made it even better;bright, clean, and peaceful with such a happy, relaxed energy. But truly, the best part of our visit was our server, Michael. He was an absolute angel. So kind, so genuine, and just full of light. He made us feel so special and taken care of, and his smile honestly made our whole morning. Our children have frequently been here and my husband had eaten at their restaurants in Florida, but I had brunch for the first time here a few days ago. Teshia was a good server. I loved the morning meditation drink with turmeric, agave, and ginger; the lemon ricotta pancakes with strawberries; and the potatoes with bacon, herbs and Parmesan creamy sauce. Large portions. Next time I want to try their cheesy grits and lemon blueberry cornbread. Hubby liked his steak and potato hash with peppers and eggs. Food was fresh and lighter than at other breakfast places. Facility is clean and well organized. My (New York) pet peeve (it maybe a Utah thing) is presentation of the BILL while patrons are still eating. Waitress admitted she wasn't rushed, didn't mean to rush her diners, finally it was a company policy. Anyone ever take a hospitality course, been a diner themselves, or even heard of the "up-sell"? I refused to take my frustration out on our waitress, but if I spend $50 on breakfast and leave a 20% cash tip management should review this practice and get ready for "prime time". This does not foster a good feeling in diners. If I wanted a bill under the plate I'd go to a sit down counter diner. Or a pay when served sign when posted. Somewhere along the way a server will pay the price in the amount of a tip. Utah wages are poor enough. Service and training are reflected. read more

This is one of my favorite spots in Phoenix and was so excited to see one in St. George. My husband and I stopped in on our way back to San Diego and enjoyed the chilaquiles, trifecta and iced coffee. That was the perfect way to end a few days in St. George! read more

I've been here multiple times and have enjoyed everything I've tried. The breakfast tacos are a great portion and very satisfying, and the omelettes are always really good. I also tried the chicken changa, which was similar to a breakfast burrito but wrapped in a thin layer of egg instead of a tortilla. I had it with chorizo, bacon, cheese, and green chile, and honestly, the combination was amazing. It was a big portion for me and very filling. First Watch is an above-average breakfast place, which St. George certainly needs. Everything has a touch of "extra," from the menus to the decor to even the service, the experience here is elevated. I usually eat the same thing for breakfast, but the menu inspired me to try something new. I enjoyed the Healthy Turkey omelet, and it was outstanding! The coffee is delicious and I appreciate that we were offered coffee as soon as we sat down-nobody wants to wait for that! I'm glad we visited and we will most definitely make it back when we are out this way again. read more

This is my second visit to First Watch. I was very impressed with the food on my first visit, but this second visit felt a bit flat. Nothing truly stood out as worthy of a third visit. We ordered a variety of items from their regular and seasonal menu. I was very disappointed with the Parmesan toast. It didn't seem cohesive--just a bunch of dry ingredients on toast that were messy and difficult to eat. Maybe melting the cheese would help. Our favorite item was the Raspberry Ricotta French Toast. The raspberries were fresh, and the French toast was perfectly balanced, sweet, and savory. I must say that it was much easier to be seated this time. We went at 9 am, their peak time, and there wasn't a waitlist. Our server, although she was new, was very attentive to our needs. read more

First watch is always a solid breakfast choice while visiting the St. George area. It's definitely a popular one, and it's hard to get a table within a 20 minute wait if you don't join the waitlist - save yourself some time and get on via Yelp before heading over. Interior is nothing special but is always clean and kept. And the "views" on the patio are subpar (unless you like looking at strip malls). However the food, coffee, and fresh pressed juices/concoctions are the reason to come and stay. Portions are filling, but pay mind to taste things before adding syrup or salt as the dishes can lend on either side more heavily. The pea flower lemonade is always a good choice, and any of the other juices will make you feel like you started your day on the best note. We always make sure to stop at First Watch while in town - and so should you! read more

I felt obligated to come back and update this review given my recent experiences to this Establishment, and in all fairness, I gave them at least three different opportunities over the course of the last nine months to one year to correct things and they just gradually got worse. I spent forever trying to find a brunch spot that could accommodate 16 people and a high chair, and we ultimately chose this place. Overall, it was pretty good! They don't take reservations, so the plan was to get on the waitlist early. They do have an online waitlist, but for parties larger than 12 you're required to call instead. We called around 8:00 a.m. and arrived at 10:00 a.m. One thing to know is that everyone in your party has to be present before they'll seat you. They seemed a little surprised when we arrived, but it was a very large group, so I'm not entirely sure what to expect there. Seating-wise, they split us into three tables: two tables of four and one table of twelve. The food leaned more on the "healthy" side than my personal taste, and it wasn't super traditional brunch food. A lot of items use whole wheat or similar ingredients, but there are some more normal options, and everyone in our group was able to find something they liked. Once we ordered, the food came out fairly quickly. They also have something called "million dollar bacon," which turned out to be just bacon with syrup poured on it. Overall, it was a solid experience and most importantly, they were able to take our large group, which was the hardest part to find. read more

I've been to three different first watch restaurants and this was by far my worst experience. Service was great, restaurant was clean, but my food was so disappointing. My first visit was to the one in San Antonio and I got biscuits and gravy. They were out of this world. Huge fluffy biscuit drenched in a delicious sausage gravy. I loved it so much that the following week I insisted on taking my mom to the first watch in cedar park Texas. Again I got the biscuits and gravy and again, huge fluffy biscuit and generous portion of gravy. When we moved to St. George last year I was so excited to find out that they had a first watch! I took my mother in law and bragged about their delicious biscuits and gravy and I was so excited. What I got was a tiny, Little, Rock hard biscuit that was covered with barely enough gravy to choke it down. It was so disappointing. My mother in law said her waffle was also dry and not very enjoyable. It was just such a let down. I don't know if I'll risk coming back or not. The Maverick gas station sells a better biscuits and gravy than this place. read more

Service was something I've never experienced before. I drove from vegas to visit my mom for something serious so we decided to lighten the mood and have breakfast at this spot they've been wanting to try. The people up front were friendly, was sat right away and that was great but then our server, Benny, came over that couldn't be bothered with us whatsoever. Very unfriendly, very sarcastic vibe, my poor mom asked a simple question and was immediately responded with a very rude snarky remark. I almost said something at this point, but didn't want to ruin our visit since I haven't seen her in a while. Then when our food arrived, I'm not even joking another person brings our food and immediately without saying hi, or anything at all, she says to us, "here's your food you're going to have to hurry up because my fingers are burning so who has this"... Mind you, I've been a server for 18 years in a very busy breakfast restaurant in vegas and our plates are made of ceramic, so when we grab them, they are also burning our arms/hands/fingers but I would NEVER, ever, ever, everrrrr greet a table that I'm bringing food to with "HURRY UP GUYS MY HANDS ARE BURNING WHO HAS WHAT" like are you serious??? It made us so uncomfortable, we felt very unwelcome here. It's not like they brought our food and we're all chatting, or confused by what we got and took forever to figure out who had what, they said what they said immediately. I think she could tell I was annoyed because she was overly fake nice to us at the end when she asked if we wanted anything else. I just couldn't believe how they treated us today. Too bad because the food was great. This would've been our spot every time we visited. I'm not clueless on how to treat customers in the service industry. We have been there a handful of times and enjoyed it a lot. I always get the same thing for breakfast but could not find it on the menu which was disappointing. I tried the breakfast sandwhich and honestly it wasn't much better than something from McDonald's. The potatoes were so bland that I added salt about 5 times. My daughter got a salad and it was also subpar. We never found two of the ingredients and the dressing was disgusting. Maybe that's how it's supposed to taste but it was almost like a glaze. She ate half and we threw the rest out. I'm giving it 3 stars because they got us in fast with the wait list option. The waitress was nice and the cashier was also. I'm so disappointed. This was one of my favorite places and I've taken out of town guests twice but I'm not sure I'm willing to take a chance another time. This is a very busy restaurant, for good reason. Saturday, and Sunday and anytime there is a team sport event in town there is a healthy wait. The food is very good. The Trifecta breakfast is my favorite for breakfast. The waffles are excellent, light, crispy and flavorful. The rest of the breakfast menu is unique, varied and full of good choices. The lunch menu offers some familiar choices, with a twist. My favorite is the roast beef sandwich, it has grilled onions, sun dried tomatoes, havarti cheese and a delicious sweet, mild horseradish spread (in a separate cup). Wow! The wait wasn't long and they get your phone number and let you know when to come back if you want to step outside or something if the entry is too crowded. We were lucky and only had to wait about five minutes and proceeded in one of the small rooms off the side so it wasn't nearly as loud as the rest. The restaurant was. I had already looked at the menu and had a drink choice picked out our waitress Addie Was amazing. She asked us if we had been in before and we said no we're from out of town. So Addie was helpful in asking us what kind of things we liked and suggested some things on the menu. We both took a different suggestion and both were wonderful and delicious. She came back and checked on us often asked us if there was anything else that we needed. This place was top notch super friendly service great atmosphere and the food was wonderful. We returned to First Watch on a recent trip to St. George. We enjoyed it so much we ended up eating there almost every day. Me and my family ate there recently when we visited St. George for a short family trip. The food was great and our server was patient. The reason why I'm leaving only a 1 star review is because we had an altercation with a server who worked at this location (she was off the clock). We have triplets and I understand that 3 year olds can be a handful but I firmly believe in approaching people with respect. She swore at us, called us a b*tch, stuck the middle finger at us, and told us to "control our kids." Regardless of being off the clock, you should always show a bit of decorum at your job. The owner and general manager had to step in and comped our breakfast, which we appreciate but it left such a bad taste in our mouth. Yelling at us in front of our kids was absolutely disgusting! Anyone who has kids and who are in the hospitality industry should practice patience and empathy. Unfortunately, despite having great food and our server being nice, we will not be coming back. She ruined it for us and the owner, who I'm sure works hard to ensure his customers have a great experience. DO BETTER. read more

While we were passing by St. George, this place popped up as a brunch spot recommendation during a quick Yelp search, and while they did not seem to accept reservations, they were able to let us know that they would easily be able to accommodate our big group of 10. We had a wait time of 15min upon arrival and the restaurant was packed! We ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes, banana granola crunch pancakes, avocado toast, smoked salmon frittata, pork green Chile hash, farmhouse skillet, market skillet, gingerbread donuts and a few other dishes and everyone was very happy with their meals. The juice bar was amazing with some great options. I was very grateful that our server put in an allergy ticket while taking the orders as we had a child in our group with a severe nut allergy- this ensured that the kitchen staff changes their gloves and utensils while making his plate, which came out with an allergy safe marker. I also swapped out my side of ciabatta with a gluten free toast and it was delicious! Service was prompt, friendly and food delicious! They are always insanely busy, but get you in amazingly quick. I love everything here. The staff is efficient and super friendly and work well with each other. The food is always fresh and hot and their combination of drinks for breakfast are so refreshing and delicious! They have plenty of seating with outdoor patio options as well and can handle a variety of parties. The seasonal menu had some unique and delicious options--highly recommend the Lavender French Toast, which was beautifully presented and full of flavor. The Million Dollar Bacon lived up to its name, and the breakfast tacos were a hit as well. Everything came out hot, and the warm syrup was a thoughtful touch. The coffee was excellent too--smooth, fresh, and kept flowing. Great spot for a relaxed and satisfying brunch. I was excited to hear they'll be opening in Salt Lake.
