Solid Seed Oil-Free Spot in St. George Cute spot off Mall Drive with a huge, somewhat convoluted menu full of plates, bowls, salads, and sandwiches. We went for lunch and it hit the spot for clean eating. I originally tried ordering the Donny Bowl but the cashier said it was unavailable, so I switched to the Power Pasture Bowl (tri tip and eggs). My buddy got the Mediterranean plate. We both selected the cheese bread. No drinks -- they have a water dispenser in the dining room. The dining room was about 25% full. Service is order-at-counter, then they bring the food and bus tables, but a few corner tables were still sitting with dirty plates from the lunch rush. The Power Pasture Bowl came out with beautiful presentation, but I found myself wondering, "What the hell do I do with this?" So I dumped the side dressing over everything and mixed it up -- turned into a delicious medley of flavors and textures. Only issue: it was missing the eggs. I went back to the counter and they quickly brought out a hard-boiled egg sliced in half. (See before/after photos.) Once assembled, it was really good. It's built like a healthier Chipotle (which, btw, loads up on seed oils), but don't expect a hot chef-crafted dish -- more fresh, layered ingredients with turmeric rice, etc. The cheese bread was a highlight -- chewy (tastes like rice flour for the gluten-free vibe) but way better than the dry-looking pita our neighbor had. Highly recommend the cheese bread. My friend loved his Mediterranean plate -- the baked falafel was delicious, everything fresh, generous portions, and nice presentation. Total for two: $35.45 (no drinks). Totally worth it if you're avoiding seed oils and inflammation. Fresh Mediterranean-leaning fare with a Whole Foods vibe. Great for bowls and plates. If you're craving something hotter, I've heard good things about Outback Steakhouse, Street Eats, and Buffalo Wild Wings -- they use beef tallow. Aubergine Kitchen has a sign saying to let them know about allergies, but missing the eggs on my bowl makes me wonder how on top of that they are. Still, overall a win for clean eating. The good, food is always great. You looking for good food this is the spot. Why the three stars you ask? We came in for breakfast soon after it opened. Breakfast great. The bad, It's the cleanliness of the tables, chairs and floors were not clean. Crumbs all over the place. I'd get it if it was towards the end of the night being dirty but cleaning the restaurant should be done before opening and throughout the day. Now I know there are a lot of people out there that don't really care about cleanliness but when I've worked at and owned a restaurant, cleanliness is always a priority. Just walking in to this place makes me feel like I'm doing something good for my body. The bright, natural lighting, the decor and the overall vibe feel good. Then, you add delicious food on top-booya! I'm glad to see some fast casual options popping up that provide a healthy alternative. I was so excited to see an aubergine on my travels. I live in Vegas and love the one there. The ambiance was great and it was really busy. My only negatives were that it was super bright in there and a bit obnoxious for me, and the menu was digital and kept changing every time we were trying to figure it out what to order. I got the peanut tofu bowl and everything was super fresh. I also got the key lime cheesecake which was light and refreshing. I have specific dietary needs and Aubergine always makes me feel good after I eat it! We got to St. George late, around 8pm, and was excited that it was open! First off, I've been one of Aubergine's longest fans, from the time of their inception in Orem. The food is healthy, flavorful and delicious. The customer service has been lacking, and this new location was no exception. We ordered at 11 when they opened, no one was there. I ordered two Brazilian acai bowls, they were all out of strawberries (hello at opening??!), they asked is I wanted extra blueberries or bananas, I said blueberries. I ordered two shakes, a build my own salad, and two extra cheese breads, and sweet potato bites. The salad came first. I checked it and they left off two toppings I ordered, so had to go back up and ask for them, I only got one cheese bread so had to go back and ask for the two additional. Then the shakes came out and weren't filled to the top, which they are SO small to begin with and very expensive! Then the sweet potato bites came with a very little amount, and again SO expensive! Then the acai bowls came out with honestly like 10 tiny blue berries, I felt like I was being punked! The acai was super icey too, which should absolutely be more creamy. The restaurant's founders pulled from their Lebanese, Brazilian, and Italian heritage to craft an exciting fast-casual dining brand focused on serving whole foods and traditional Brazilian ingredients such as pão de queijo (cheese balls/bread; AK's recipe is completely gluten free). My spring break adventures took me to St. George, UT over the weekend, and I decided to stop by the Aubergine Kitchen on South Mall Drive to give them a try. I ended up ordering the Vitality Bowl which comes with orange & white sweet potatoes, seasoned kale, brussels sprouts, cauliflower rice, chicken, red cabbage salad, microgreens, and sweet spicy mango dressing. I also made an Arnold Palmer by mixing two of their homemade beverages: chamomile tea & cucumber mint lemonade. Everything I had exceeded my expectations! The roasted sweet potatoes were the star of the bowl in my opinion, but all the other ingredients delivered a strong performance as supporting cast members. The ingredients were so flavorful that I actually didn't even need the salad dressing. In terms of my beverage, I make my Arnold Palmers with 85% unsweetened tea & 15% lemonade. I love aubergine. This location is really good. They fill the bowls all the way and don't skimp on there toppings! My favorite is the Dream salad and brownie layers for desert. My only complaint- and it's at all of their locations is that when you walk in you go to the cashier to order. It seems so counter intuitive and the menu isn't in front of the cashier. I wish they would change the layout. So many times people just wait and wait to order at the entrance (where you used to order or like you do at every other fast casual Restaurant). I was hesitant to try Aubergine thinking it was a social media fad / too good to be true. Then I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease and had to change everything I ate (anti-inflammatory). We were traveling through St. George and were looking for vegan options for supper. We located Aubergine on Yelp and gave it a try. What a good find. The food was very tasty. They had 2 vegan bowls and 2 vegan salads . We had the Mediterranean Bowl and the Better Health Bowl. Both were excellent. Delicious. Large portions. It is obvious they use quality ingredients The restaurant is an upscale fast food location. The decor is bright, but with warm woods and frosted glass. The staff was very helpful and quite friendly. Always a large plus, especially when trying a new location There are 3 tables with chairs outside in front of the store. This was welcome since we are traveling with our dogs. The Yelp site did not relfect outside seating or dogs allowed, so this was a nice surprise which allowed us to eat on site instead of taking the food back to the hotel. Tried Aubergine for the first time today. Went out of our way for it as my wife was real excited to try it because of her gluten intolerance. I got the Vitality bowl and she got the Chicken bites and Sweet Potato bites. Lots of gluten free and dairy free options to choose from. Felt a lot like dining inside Zupas, as far as "feel" goes. Vitality bowl was good, but not "wow, that's amazing" good. While there is a jalapeño dressing on the side, (which I did not open as I'm not a fan) there is nothing in the description that notes jalapeño in the bowl itself. But it was pretty obvious that what appeared to be the roasted brussels sprouts (not sure) were very jalapeño spicy and it filtered through the rest of the bowl. An over abundance of kale but most everything else was palatable. While the included meat was supposed to be chicken, there were also beef/steak chunks in the bowl. Someone may need to slow down and do a better job of putting the bowl together? The chicken was tasty, albeit a little dry. The potato chunks were very good. The cauliflower rice was different but good. My wife enjoyed her chicken bites and the sweet potato bites, but agreed with me that it was not fabulous. Not necessarily a place we will go out of our way for in the future. But others may find it "new and exciting". read more
