Food here is usually pretty good, but I'm giving them a one-star for their ridiculous policy of table hogging. We arrived at the restaurant at 11:00 Saturday. We were told there would be a one-hour wait, but that it'd probably be less than that. The small "lobby" area of the restaurant was packed with people waiting for tables. It was very difficult for people to move. At about 11:15, I noticed that at one table, a woman was sitting, talking on her phone and using her laptop at the same time. As I passed by her table enroute to the bathroom, I saw her check sitting on the table, so she was clearly finished with her meal. I asked the hostess if she or someone would ask the woman to leave, since there were people piling up and waiting an hour to be seated. The woman said the store has a strict policy of not asking anyone to give up their table, regardless of how busy they are and regardless of how long the wait is. How ridiculous that a company would spare the feelings of one patron at the expense of dozens of people waiting for tables. Guess what, First Watch, until and unless you change this RIDICULOUS policy, I'm not going to your restaurant anytime soon, and I recommend others go elsewhere as well. By the way, the woman didn't leave until almost 12:00. Selfish. read more

Our daughter's favorite place for breakfast is First Watch, so we decided to take her there as a birthday brunch for her to enjoy. As my husband and I got there first we waited for my daughter to arrive and my sister-in-law (who's actual birthday it was as well to join us). We started out with a pot of Hot Coffee. It was delicious! Service was spot on and helpful. Menu is extensive but not daunting. Specials on the board and on the smaller menu took my husband's attention right away and he knew what he wanted. Me, trying to stick to my diet with all the yummy choices of Belgium waffles and amazing Bacon dishes were difficult. I ended up splitting a bacon/avocado omelette with my sister in law. It had offering of toast, salad, or grits. Unfortunately we chose the salad, there was nothing wrong with it, I just Love and I mean Love bread and grits and I couldn't have it. Great choices by everyone for their meals and my Husband ordered a side of the Million Dollar (candied Bacon) which I ended up tasting! It was great! (Did I mention it also had syrup on top of the bacon-OMG) Our Daughter's boyfriend showed up last minute and was served with us. Unfortunately all of us received our food - except my daughter on time,even her boyfriend got his food before she did. She was insisting we start eating and we did. She finally got her sandwich but the egg was cracked a little, she loves it so she dug right in. She always gets the Elevated Egg sandwich but said it was messy today. But good as always. We enjoyed hearing about her day and seeing her. Our check arrived for a little over $60 which was really only for four meals since mine was split. Little pricey but for the quality of the food and what we ate it was worth it. Try the Morning Meditation Drink you will love it. It's enough to share in a small water glass or not :-) read more

When in about 11 a.m. for some brunch action. We use the Yelp app to get on the waiting list which worked out well maybe waited 20 minutes more but that's fine. Went and got greeted by a lovely blond hostess. Our server took care of his really well was attentive and kept checking on us. The food is great. I ordered the skillet and it came in within 10 minutes. Busy but the staff manage the get everybody in without anybody complaining. Good job to all read more

Party of eight, told there'd be an hour's wait, but were seated in roughly 15 minutes. Our waitress, Devan, was very good. I ordered the "traditional" breakfast for $9.99, & coffee for $2.79. My 2 eggs over easy came out over medium, flatbed fried a little crusty on the bottom. The multigrain toast was good, & the Yorkshire sausage links typically plump & tasty. I substituted the grits for their "seasoned homefries", no win here. The grits were dried-out cakey (how 'bout thinning out/whisking the grits in the steam table periodically with some water) & void of any flavor, & the potatoes were akin to boiled chunks heated on the grill...no char. read more

Have return numerous times because the food and service are top notch. Fresh as fresh can be. Your first bite will confirm that this is no dinner with a grill cook but a popular restaurant with an artisan chef. Fresh juices; crafted sausages, bacon, and breads. I couldn't say enough wonderful things about this establishment! I especially love the kale drink! Not only is it good for you it taste amazing! And ooh the million dollar bacon...yum! Their food is so good here! The staff are also all so very nice and polite! The only thing you need when you come here to eat is a little patience because there is a slight wait to be seated but what would you expect from an awesome and great place to eat! We waited over an hour for our food. Manager on duty offered no assistance or apology. Food was ok. Poor service .

We saw this place from the road, and decided to try. The food presentation and service was good. The sanitation not so good. After drinking half my coffee, I found a blob of light brown hair (my hair is gray) in the bottom of my cup. Our server offered no apology for the hair in my cup. My wife started to get stomach cramps and diarrhea on the drive home. Her symptoms were characteristic of a fast-moving foodborne illness. read more

Tried 2 of the seasonal items, Mediterranean Bowl and the Carnitas Omelet. Both had beautiful presentations and were SOOOO yummy! Our server was very great, but the rest of team helped deliver our food, take our empty plates, delivered more creamer... whatever we needed it was there! First time here and was told it was a great place to eat.....waited 40 mins on a Sunday morning to be seated. I understand it is a Sunday morning and everyone and their mother wants to eat out but several empty tables were seen within the restaurant and outside patio. Must be short staff in the front of the house and back. I ordered avocado toast with a side of sausage, side of potatoes and a fruit cup. The toast was gluten free which was hardly toasted, good amount of avocado was a plus but they put the sausage on my toast. By the time it got to me it was cold on the toast. Also the toast came with potatoes so I had a whole another order of potatoes. My fruit cup grapes, pineapple and cantaloupe which was $2.99. Kinda cheap that strawberries, blueberries and blackberries were on the special but you I received grocery store quality fruit. After eating the fruit I noticed the bowl had cheese on it still from a prior meal in my bowl. We notified the waiter who went to tell the manager. The manager sent the waiter back over with no service recovery. My husband spoke up and said that is not acceptable. The waiter once again went back and the manager still didn't come to the table. The server David came back and had taken my breakfast off the bill. This was disappointing meal to say the least. We will think twice about going here again. Update review- I received a gift card from First Watch following this review on Yelp so my husband and I can try them again. We finally went yesterday to a First Watch and enjoyed our food/service better this time. I had the quinoa lemon blueberry pancakes that were delicious. My husband had the traditional breakfast and some coffee. He raved about the coffee. We were informed by the server that it is from a small women owned business in South America. Food is great like any first watch however the parking is a big pain. Not enough places to park. Get there early! Make sure you use the app to get in line the best part about this company. I typically LOVE First Watch. But this location just was not it. The hostess lacked social skills, did not look us in the eye or greet us other than saying "how many". We were told 5-10 minutes, after 20 minutes and watching people who arrived after us be seated we were told "oh I was just about to text you". Food was good, waitress was great. However, the pitcher of water had floaties and the "clean" silverware was greasy. We are dealing with a global pandemic and this restaurant failed to provide clean dishes. I was so excited when I found out First Watch was coming to Riverview! I have been to the Brandon location a few times and was very impressed! They are open for breakfast and lunch and offer fresh, healthy options for both! They can get very busy, especially for breakfast, but I have never had to wait an unreasonable amount of time before being seated. My husband and I have never been disappointed with anything we have ordered! This is definitely a place we will go to frequently in the area! Highly recommend trying them if you haven't yet! I was very annoyed at this visit to First Watch. We checked in ahead of time on this app which went fine. But as soon as we got seated it took someone 30 minutes to actually get someone to come over and get us drinks and take our order. It got to the point where we had to actually wave someone down just to come over. And when the waitress actually did come over she was very abrupt and gruff as she took our order. She didn't even apologize or explain why it took so long to get to us. I usually don't mind the service here but after today's service I'm not sure if I'll ever recommend this place to anyone or even return myself. read more

This place is nothing short of amazing! First off, the building is gorgeous. Outside and in is modern, clean and fresh! For it being the first open week, the servers did an amazing job! Everyone worked together to make sure the guests had a great experience. As for the food, everyone at my table ordered something different and we all sampled what each other had ordered. EVERYTHING was fresh and so delicious! This is a very popular place, if you don't mind waiting for the food (and it IS worth the wait) I highly recommend this place! The service was friendly and food came promptly, even though it was so crowded that they even ran out of plates. Our only complaint is that when u ask for water, they bring this rustic glass jar full of water. It had food all in the inside. Husband asked if he could just have a regular glass of water. She came back with another one of the glass jars, and it also had food pieces all in it. The narrow opening makes them impossible to clean properly, and should NOT be used in any restaurant. Took my wife for breakfast this morning. She has special diet needs. We ordered and the waitress was super nice. When the good was delivered the waitress told us that she double checked with the cook. The cook told her the special extra items ordered were under Neath the food . Of course my wife dug through the meal and the extras we asked for were not included. Again the super nice waitress said that she would handle it for us. Then the manager got involved and decided that she was not able to remove the $1.59 that we were charged for an item that we didn't receive. The manager is super unprofessional and I would use foul language to describe a female dog but I won't. Myself nor my family will ever return.
