Honestly, I was surprised at the quality of food here. It feels like an IHOP, but the quality and taste was so much better than any other chain brunch place. I ordered eggs benedict, and loved it. It came on a crispy warm bread, with a lot of veggies and a delicious spring mix salad. My boyfriend had the biscuits and gravy and it was surprisingly not as heavy as I imagined, but still had that full satisfying taste that you'd imagine from biscuits and gravy. The service here was also very good; I asked for light hollandaise on my order, and our waitress kindly pointed out that I could get my sauce on the side, which was perfect. I'd come here again for brunch, and definitely would recommend it especially for larger groups. read more

Had heard about this place and decided to try it out since I was in the area. Had the pumpkin pancake breakfast. Very disappointing. Pancake was barely warm. As you can see in pic, the butter didnt even melt throughout the entire time I picked at eating the pancake. Also the potatoes were somewhat burned. I picked out the better pieces to eat. I wouldve mentioned it to the server but she NEVER came by to check on me once the food came out. In fact I waited over 10 minutes for my check and finally gave up and went to the front to pay without it. The nice lady at the register did try to make things right and ended up giving me a card for a free meal next time. However...1) I live about 20 miles away and 2) I just didnt think it was all that great (flavors). read more

Yummy in the tummy! I love this place. Server was super friendly and attentive. Food was perfect and so reasonably priced. I had a half roast beef sandwich and a honey pecan chicken salad combo. Both were perfect! The bread on the sandwich was so delicious! And I adored my salad, huge pieces of avocado and a super yummy dressing! Took half to go because it was so much food! Lots of potential, poor execution. This place replaced "The egg and I" which used to be there. But they retained the breakfast concept which my wife and I really like. The atmosphere is well crafted, casual and comfortable. The staff was really nice, and the menu bountiful and mouthwatering. However when we got the food is when I felt some glitches in the execution. The green leaves on the side of the omelette were only one type ( Arugula I think), without any dressing. I could have taken those down my throat, if some of them were not rotten. It happens to my leaves all the time when I keep them for more than a couple of days in my fridge, but I don't expect to be served with them in a restaurant. But to be fair, the omelette was good, the toasts fat and buttery and the cranberry pancake big and hearty. read more

First watch is one of my favorite restaurants. Fresh farm to table food at a decent price point. My favorite items to order are their sandwiches and fresh seasonal juices. Their sandwiches are piled thick with meat, cheese, and arugula. I enjoy the use of arugula on the sandwich because it adds friction to the stack so the toppings don't slip. The side salad is beautifully glazed with a olive oil vinaigrette. Their seasonal juices are an amazing pick me up. Fresh, tasty, lovely! I highly recommend coming to this sweet restaurant. We had a really great experience at first watch on a beautiful Sunday morning. We joined the yelp waitlist and we're seated in about 20 minutes at around 11 AM it was fairly busy but they flip tables pretty quickly. Our waiter was very nice and he started us off with a pot of coffee for the table and waters all around. I really liked the Decour of this restaurant it was very farm house ask very clean and spacious and had a good amount of tables. Our party of three order the Asian pork belly bowl the traditional breakfast and the avocado toast. The traditional breakfast was great and came with a choice of bacon toast and eggs. The avocado toast was definitely a highlight it seem to have a whole avocado spread over thick Texas toast with a drizzle of olive oil flakes salt and a side of a lemon wedge. The toast also came with two poached eggs in my opinion they were too runny, but I prefer hard-boiled eggs anyways. The pork belly bowl had a good mix of flavors and the pork belly was cut up very small pieces that were very enjoyable and crispy. The quinoa and assorted grains in it were excellent and had a maple flavor. Overall a great breakfast experience and one that I would go back to again when visiting Plano. Their fresh squeezed orange juice is really refreshing. I highly recommend the avocado toast. The actual toast part of the avocado toast is really yummy. I had the lemon ricotta pancakes and they were really fluffy. The pancake portion is huge. Great for splitting. I will def come back. read more

I'm excited to see this chain of cafes starting to pop up around the DFW suburbs! I love a good breakfast/brunch place and bonus points to First Watch for having healthier options on the menu. We stopped by for a late breakfast one weekday morning during the holidays and were promptly seated. I had the Avocado Toast and asked for my side of eggs to be scrambled. Umm, delicious! My plate had two thick pieces of whole grain toast, topped with an extremely generous amount of avocado (and EVOO, lemon, and sea salt). The eggs were perfection! It made for a light yet incredibly filling and satisfying breakfast. I also had a bite of husband's Elevated Egg Sandwich, which was also tasty, and we shared a Banana Crunch Pancake. Oh my goodness, that pancake! Now I'm sure that pancake isn't one of their "healthier" offerings, but man is it good. Loved the texture that the granola gave it. Service was friendly, albeit a tad slow, and there was a mix-up with our check (nothing major). We'll definitely be adding First Watch to our list of favorite breakfast options! read more

Dear First Watch owners, you should worry more about your flavorless potatoes than the freedom loving, evil hating, guardians of our society who might open carry in your restaurant. Back to my rambling review... Didn't see any biscuits and gravy on the menu. Frankly there's nothing in this place resembling the South or Texas. Clearly this place is owned by Yankees. It has a farmhouse feel as far as the decor is concerned but the menu is distinctly highfalutin - lots of arugula and avocado LOL. Where's the sausage and gravy man!? Potatoes are blah. My eggs Benedict came with a salad. Healthy but weird. Decor is pretty cool admittedly but I miss the Egg and I homey feel. Pancake was very crumbly - didn't think it was that great. Cholula, no Tabasco. Service was excellent. Can't knock them there. Price was about 25% higher than what we paid at Egg and I. I think the food was better in some ways but not as good in others. I'm very sad about losing our neighborhood Egg and so take this review with a grain of salt. I'm sure most people will love this place. I came in Friday on one of their first opening days with a full training staff in place. Had scheduled breakfast with a friend thinking it was still the Egg & I. What a difference in atmosphere, decor and menu! The Egg & I is one of those safe, dependable places where you can count on good food, and maybe even a light early crowd with few other patrons to take away from your service or drown out your conversation. My dining friend was familiar with First Watch from other cities and had a good impression of the place. You know you're in for a different experience when they bring out ice cold water in an old style clear milk bottle and syrup in an antique-inspired clear glass dispenser. Specials of the day are on a large chalk board and the decor has an inviting look with medium wood accents. Service, which was under the watchful eye of a trainer, was very friendly and welcoming. The menu is broad with a number of interesting options so be prepared to actually read the menu, not just find a familiar dish by the name or heading. I went with the ciabatta french toast, which was served with a little fruit and drizzled Nutella. My friend ordered the Bacado, which he liked but I can't begin to describe here, so check out the menu. I was less than enthused about their use of Yelp. They had posted 30 photos leading up to the opening that were clearly from their Marketing department--not only were all of the photos missing any notation to help you understand what the dish was, it turns out several of the dishes aren't even on the menu at this location(!). Come on, guys. If you're gonna post pictures, at least use ones that represent your menu and label them so customers know what they are. I had to get help from their trainer to figure out what some of them were and that's how I discovered the ones I was interested in weren't available. This could have been a 5 star rating or a 3 star rating. Atmosphere was great (nice touch on the music, btw, which seemed to lift the atmosphere a bit), service will rock as the wait staff gets comfortable with everything and food was really good. I settled on 4 stars because, despite all that I liked about First Watch, my total out the door bill was $20--for fresh toast ($10), coffee ($3) and a side of egg whites (almost $4) plus tip. Ouch. I didn't quite expect to spend that much on breakfast. I'll be back but will watch adding any sides next time. read more

Drop off my daughter at Davis Elem. School last Friday morning and was hungry so I checked yelp the closest breakfast resto in my location Custer/Parker and found First Watch and decided to try it out. Went inside looks fancy, expensive, nice and clean. Everything was running smoothly until I got to my table and start reading the menu. Im clueless when it comes to their menu. Im a type of person who can understand more on what's describes on the menu and what it looks like, in short I want to see what I want to order. Since there's no pictures on the menu, I have to ask the server if they have a combo bf meal like 2 eggs, a plain regular pancake and a sausage combo and the server recommended this... this... and this right..... so I said okay I'll take what you recommended plus coffee. When I got my order I was not so happy coz what I describe is what I got 2 eggs over easy , 1plain reg pancake and 1sausage. I said like ok? this is not what I was expecting. So since I was hungry I ate the food and the bill finally came when i was about to be done. My bill is (check this out) $16.37 not including tax and tip, I was surprise where my eyes got bigger I was not satisfied on what the server recommended me and it was SUPER EXPENSIVE, with that price I can have a fully satisfied breakfast on a different restaurant but hey, it was my FIRST TIME to eat in that restaurant and so it will definitely THE LAST for I will not be coming back. Oh I left the server a $5 tip so I spent almost close to $24 on my breakfast. We came here on a Sunday morning at around 10 am, and the place was already full, so I would recommend getting here earlier. This place has kind of a hipster vibe. Very clean. Service was friendly. I ordered the breakfast burger with bacon (good), and the hubs ordered a blueberry pancake which he did not like. Entrees are around $10. I would come back. The place is clean, service is friendly, and my food was pretty good. I might like to try other items on the menu. It's a good place for brunch. read more

We have the spot another shot the other day and it has improved dramatically. The food was great and the service was too. The reviews here seemed pretty good so we decided to give it. Bad idea!!! It was busy as expected on a Saturday morning so we waiting 20 minutes which was expected and where seated. We are now have been seated at our table for 45 minutes with no food. I confess I was concerned when this location changed from The Egg And I. But I have been pleasantly surprised with the new menu and a much more attentive staff. I want to put a special shout out to Logan. He always seems to anticipate what I need and want and answers all of my questions about the new menu items. I dined with a friend today. I had the Belgian waffle and eggs and he had the Parma Hash. Our waiter did a great job of taking care of us and the food was delish. I would recommend going in and trying out the new menu. There are lots of new things I am looking forward to trying out myself. read more

Let's talk about the harvest farmhouse hash! It's amazingly delicious. I didn't have to add my usual "salt & pepper". Eggs, bacon, onions, peppers and avocado. It was a great meal even to go. Meh. Quite a long wait for mediocre food and mediocre/sub par service. I have the Elote Street Corn Hash and my friend had the Farmhouse Hash... pretty good sized portions. At a place like this is expect higher quality/more options for coffee, and fresh squeezed orange juice, not something that tastes like Sunny D.
