I needed food that was going to sustain me through the afternoon so I decided to try the Triathlete - egg white omelette with sautéed mushrooms and onions, topped with a diced green chile Ms and diced tomatoes. The venue is pleasant in looks inside and out. Though the parking lot was pretty full on a weekday at 9:30am, my friend and I were seated right away and service was both prompt and friendly. The breakfast menu had plenty options. My eyes landed on the fritatta rustica right away and I selected fruit as the side option. I ordered orange juice, as well. The dish looked appealing and came with some rectangle of hard bread (ciabatta toast) which i did not eat. The frittata containing kale, mushrooms, onions, tomatoes, parmesan, and mozzarella looked good and was good. However, it wasn't the consistency I know of frittatas, having even made them. This one was flat, totally flat, as in flat like a slice of thin crust pizza. My experience with a frittata is more lush, higher, made in a spring pan. The price of the fritatta that came with toast and fruit and the side of orange juice was $18. Based on the higher than I would like price and the consistency of the frittata I'll give 4 instead of stars. read more

Visited First Watch yesterday. It wasn't my first time here but was excellent as always. Since it was closer to lunch time I opted for one of their newer juice drinks instead of coffee. The Purple Haze was absolutely delicious and refreshing. If you like lavender and lemonade - this drink is for you. For my meal I had the Hacienda Hash - which was equally as delicious. ONE big complaint then I'll get to the good stuff I promise.. it was packed this morning around 11 am of course as expected BUT i put my name in for a table for 2 with the hostess who was a shorter blond girl. Thank goodness my mom mentioned it to me because when I addressed it with the same hostess, she looked confused, asked for my name again & said "it's not in here...did you voluntarily remove your name or something?" I said no... because why would I do that and visibly wait for another hour after removing my name? She looked confused and avoided eye contact with me. Then goes "oh look a table just opened I'll seat you now!" Didnt even apologize.... Then just put our menus on the table and walked away. No greeting, no apology, just rude especially when it was her mistake. I saw the way she sat a few families after us too and one man said "yeah have a great day to you too I guess?" When she rapidly sat then while tossing their menus and running back to the entrance. She was not personable at all for a hostess and it seemed like others noticed too. I'd like to commend our awesome waiter though. He was the tall bald man with glasses and cool tattoos. He was very pleasant and personable. VERY FAST service and the food was delicious. We ordered from the summer specials (shrimp and grits & the elote breakfast burrito). Both very good!!! Their ranch was awesome on the side too. We luck out with the same waiter anytime we go and he provides a pleasant experience and even remedies the poor unpersonable hostess who doesn't seem very reliable. Service is always good, décor is creative and attractive, fresh juices and coffee are really good. The food, however, has been hit and miss no matter where we've gone. I've come to this location three times - the Avocado Toast was average, eggs & potatoes were tasteless, and today's Roast Beef & Havarti sandwich looked good, but was overrun by lemon and salt. They were so strong that all other flavors were lost including the horseradish sauce. The Tomato Basil soup was good and my partner's Trifecka plate was good -- though "the pancakes are not as good as IHOP." read more

First Watch is our go to for breakfast and brunch on special occasions, holidays, or as a treat. The big selling point for me is the food they serve is primarily clean food. Minimally processed, emphasizing on fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins. I always order the vegetable egg white omelet which comes with fresh pico sauce and whole grain artisan toast. Another favorite is the whole wheat pancakes. One pancake equals two smaller sized. They come in plain, blueberry, chocolate chip, banana crunch, and granola. I like the blueberry which also comes with a small sized warm blueberry compote on the side. They have a regular menu with a seasonal one. They also have a juice bar that makes concoctions such as a Purple Haze, a non-traditional lemonade that combines butterfly pea flower tea, lavender, and real cane sugar, and a Kale Tonic made with kale, fuji apple, english cucumber, and lemon. You can also order alcoholic drinks such as a mimosa or bloody mary. The decor is rustic and causal and our server was polite, brought our food fast, and checked several times if we needed anything else. We always order delivery and this was our first time eating in. We didn't have to wait to be seated which made for a very pleasant experience. We've been ordering from First Watch since they opened in our area several years ago. I really enjoy First Watch. It's one of the few chain restaurants that I look forward to stopping. This location seems much smaller than others I have been to, but it's still substantial. Service was a bit slow, but food came extremely fast. It actually came too fast, and it made me feel like the meal wasn't cooked fresh. I had a skillet with potatoes, onions, peppers, bacon and eggs over easy. It was very tasty, even though the eggs were over cooked. The toast was good and was served with a tasty compote. I like that they leave a pot of coffee on your table so that you aren't always tracking down a server. Their menu is unique, which I really like, and the food is always good. read more

Sometimes your first time is the best time. Went to First Watch for brunch for the first time. "How was everything" you ask? Top notch. From the social distancing between seating customers to the pleasantness of the staff to the Oatmeal Cookie coffee creamer. Rarely do I give a place 5 stars - this is one of those places where we couldn't find fault in anything. Love the truly simple rustic décor. Great menu choices. They give you a whole carafe of coffee instead of just filling individual cups (there were two of us). In addition to the coffee, we had the Carrot Crush and the Kale Tonic - both were absolutely delicious. For the meals, I had the Smoked Salmon and Roasted Vegetable Frittata. My dining partner had the Truffle Mushroom Hash (a special). Both were off the chain (as Guy Fieri would say), but my fork kept making its way over to my dining partner's bowl maybe a little too much. Heck, even the ciabatta toast was delicious. Our stomachs were perfectly filled; no feeling of bloated-ness and no leftovers to take home. Prices are reasonable and our server Gracie was the epitome of what a great waitress/server should be. Had to wait a little bit to be seated (about 10-15 min) due to their spreading customers out from each other, but still worth the wait. Would we go back? Plans have already been made. read more

It's been a while since we last went here. Hint - get in line using the App or Yelp because it's usually a wait on the weekends! We had a 35 min wait but by the time we picked everyone up and got there .. it was like five minutes Party of four dined ... all but one had lunch --- sandwiches, soups, salad and then yes beef rib egg Benedict! Even tried the carrot crush drink ( you can definitely taste the turmeric in that...but it's good). The place is very clean looking .. the drinks came quickly --- seemed we waited about 30 min for food ... it was busy! Food comes ... everyone likes their food. Our check has an issue but our waitress quickly took care of that. I get gift cards at giant eagle or Sam's and they were easy to use. I actually can't believe I haven't written a review yet for First Watch. I can't say enough about it - it is my favorite breakfast/brunch spot in the area. I really appreciate the almond milk coffee creamers, the jug of water and jug of coffee right at your table without having to ask for more. (Side note - their coffee is arguably better than Starbucks, I love it). The atmosphere is just really relaxing and appropriate for a daytime cafe. I can tell a lot of others enjoy it as we often have to make up a parking spot as the lot is always full at both locations near me. The staff has always been great even at busy times and the prices are very reasonable. I only paid $21 (+tip) for my son and I for breakfast recently. This past weekend I got the Cornbread Carnitas Bowl on the summer menu. I really hope this dish isn't only during summer as I fell in love with it. The cornbread is toasted and the carnitas are so tender - it just melts in your mouth. The photo I am posting speaks for itself. Why do we try to have everything at once? I will never understand the *American Dream* of believing that somehow Elixir style juice cleansers are a good menu pairing to add with Chocolate Chip Pancakes, but hey, it worked. First Watch is apparently a chain I had learned after asking the wonderfully kind staff at this location. The crowd here seemed to be catering to those that congregate in the suburb regions of southern Pittsburgh, so if you are familiar with this than you will make sure that you have a dose of Catholicism, pretentious attitudes about body positivity, and deep fear for someone knowing the status of your financial standing all ready and available to serve to strangers that try to interact with you. I do believe I am a harsh critique but I did not think this place was outstanding besides the super friendly staff. The food was ehh and my Ginger Juice was like "okay" but obviously made for the tween and her mom going to yoga down the road who are *tryin to be healthy* and as someone looking for a colon cleanse, I was disappointed with the false offering and bacon add ons. This place gets a 2 on the LGBTQIA radar mostly because I showed up and it was made gay for those couple of minutes. I do think I remember the restrooms being gender neutral or that being an option because they were single staff so that was exciting. Good luck making your decision on this one, and mostly think that if you land this far you should probably consider sticking to a staple that you can trust.
