This is probably the least covid-safe takeout experience I've had in the whole pandemic but luckily it was brief and the actual meal was good enough to make up for it. This place is constantly PACKED. Packed like it's a holiday weekend and there's no global plague killing people. Uncomfortable parking lot too so keep that in mind. On a happier note, however, this was great food for a great value. My meal was awesome and so big I literally couldn't finish it, which has never happened to me for a breakfast before, and my partner's meal was awesome, and the butterfly pea lemonade drink was awesome. An easy go to spot for breakfast in Omaha. Conveniently located behind UNO and 72nd and Dodge, this is a very popular breakfast spot. I've been here a multitude of times and keep going back because of the expansive menu! You can place yourself in "line" online that way you don't have to wait in the restaurant! Service is usually pretty fast and food tastes fresh. They don't limited as much seating for covid as I would like, maybe this is something they can reinforce. I went to First Watch on Mother's Day & got the Traditional Breakfast and the whole thing was not right. I asked for over easy eggs to where they weren't undercooked & ended up with hard boiled eggs. The bacon tasted like boar meat. Potatoes were not crispy they were very soft . It was the worst breakfast I have had from there. Which is sad because I nortluked the place. But at almost 25$ a person to eat breakfast and walk away hungry is not a place I will be back for. Unless something changes. read more

After my last review I had a manager contact me and offered me a free meal certificate to be used at my convenience. I was moving to Chicago where the closest First Watch was WAY up in Wisconsin so I held onto it hoping maybe "one day" I'd use it. Well that day finally came. On my way through while moving to California I was hungry. It was early in the Am on Saturday, around 0715. I couldn't think of any place open that wasn't a Denny's. I knew I had this gift card to use, but mainly I was hoping to find a gluten free meal option that included eggs. ( I was seriously craving eggs). I decided on First Watch. I was immediately seated this time and I'm REALLY sorry I can't remember your name, but my server was a younger white guy with long hair pulled back. He was amazing! He brought me coffee and gave me suggestions on what to eat. I did kind of explain to him some of the issue I'd had there before. I explained to him exactly how I wanted my eggs cooked and he promised they'd get it right. Well I'm very happy to say my food was delicious! The omelette was 100% cooked (slightly brown which I said was okay!, crispy on the edges eggs are yummy) and the potatoes were bomb. The fruit was meh but I'm not a fan of mixed fruit. Although I was happy it was an option over the bread. I should have ordered bacon, but I forgot. I had no issues using the gift card and my server happily gave me a box to go. He even gave me a to go cup for my coffee! SUPER rare to see that kindness. The manager even came over to ask how I enjoyed it and I told him I'd give an updated yelp review (so here you go!). Even though my bill was free I still tipped my server, yeah he was that good. If I was in the area again (and I highly doubt it lol) I would come back. My boyfriend and I visited first watch this past weekend and it was delicious! I got the trifecta (waffle, eggs and sausage). The waffle here is my favorite, especially when paired with the jam they serve with it. I wish I had better words to describe it but you just have to try it yourself. I seriously don't understand how this place has good reviews. Family and I have been here now like 7 times and I waited till now to write the review. Most times we have been here it's been maybe half full with customers and each time we have seriously waited almost an hour for our food. This last time we asked for coffee and the waitress brought us a 1/4 full pot and never checked on us again till food came to see if we needed a refill. When you have 2 small kids with you I would like to think the waitress would be a bit more attentive. When our food came my potatoes were semi cold. My boyfriend and I visited Omaha for the first time and our friend had wanted to try First Watch, so we tagged along. We had forgotten it was Sunday, so we did not call ahead. At 1pm on a Sunday, it was packed and the estimated wait time was 20 minutes. It took about 25-30 minutes to get seated. Upon getting seated, we waited quite a while to get any water; however, the manager did stop by to check if anyone had served us yet. My boyfriend and I ordered the Chicken Pesto Quinoa Powerbowl and a Everything Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict. My friend got a Frittata Rustica. Food took an average time to arrive. My boyfriend loved his powerbowl, but wished the portions were larger. I felt that it was quite flavorful! My smoked salmon benedict was amazing in flavor, but rather disappointing...my poached eggs were fully cooked and not the least bit runny...I've never experienced that before. It was also seasoned with poppy seals instead of the "everything bagel seasoning" as described. The mixed greens that came with were just spring mix that was not dressed with lemon as specified. Normally, I would have spoken up; however, we had already waited quite a bit to eat and we were all on a time crunch. I also ordered toast/jelly on the side and it was one small piece of toast cut in half for $2 (not worth it IMO). Our waitress, Madeline, was super sweet and as attentive as she could be. Pretty solid brunch spot. I've been here many times and it's always packed. This isn't the spot where I'd go to hang out for a leisurely brunch on the weekend though as it's a little like a cattle call, eat and get out. I have been in there once during the week at a very early time and it was a bit more conducive to lounging. There is a good sized balcony that helps out when the weather is appropriate. The menu is vast with a little of everything including lunch options and a lot of healthy selections. If you can't find something you like then you're probably one of the pickiest eaters know to man. That being said, my husband is particular to hash browns and he's yet to find them there so he's not as excited about the plentiful options as I am. And yes, there is alcohol. Get on the waitlist through Yelp and it gives you a very detailed time estimate along with how many people are in front of you. This is a review for anyone who uses DoorDash, I've never been in this restaurant. Just want to start by saying, the food is always pretty good. But save your money on ordering drinks or fruit. I paid $5 for some kale juice concoction. They will put ice all the way to the top and you will only get about 3 swigs, it tastes really good but for $5 you're gonna feel like you just got a taste of it. Same with the fruit. If it comes with your meal, great but don't pay for it as a side item. You literally get a condiment container with one piece of honey dew and one grape. I'm not joking. For the prices of things here, they are very stingy. I order here from DoorDash from time to time and forget how you never get your moneys worth. read more

First Watch is by far one of my favorite brunch spots in Omaha. I've tried many menu items but my favorites include the skillets and the pancakes. You would never know that this location is a chain restaurant. The atmosphere is welcoming and relaxing and every waiter and waitress working there are professional and kind. It can be on the slightly pricey side but always worth it. I also highly recommend jumping in line here on Yelp because the wait can be insanely long on the weekends! Highly recommend for Sunday brunch (or brunch every day of the week because why not?!). read more

"I feel like I just purified my soul" The bf hit it right on the head after trying my "AM Superfoods Bowl". Soooo delicious and packed with nutrients from chia seeds, blueberries, strawberries, bananas, granola and more. While it is typically served with almond butter toast, I opted instead for avocado toast. Best decision I made all year ;) Also was super thrilled when there was no upcharge for the switch. My hunny got the 1/2 and 1/2 with the market veggie sandwich and tomato basil soup. His was less filling and was eaten QUICK! but the veggies were extremely flavorful and the bread was awesome. He also ordered the "Morning Glory" cocktail and was pleased with the fresh flavor. All that for under $30 and you can color me thrilled. Will be back for more! Stopped by First Watch this past Sunday at high noon and the line was our the door. As the skies poured with a hot summer rain we scrambled to find parking and place our name on first watch's wait list. With automated text messaging to keep you in the loop, toasty complementary coffee, . and enough standing room to keep us dry our thirty minute wait passed quickly. We were seated at a nice window booth with plenty of room for two. The restaurant felt like a small town diner imbued with modern energy. A bearded hipster sipped coffee and downed panckakces while a group of UNO Athletes enjoyed omlets and played catch up. A family of four next to us drank bloody Mary's and chatted . And all the while waiters, servers, and busboys harmoniously delivered breakfast ,poured coffee and made sure all diners were content . The menu is big and has many options. First watch is a chain, however, it does not exude the vibe. Ingredients are farm to table and one can tell. For our late breakfast we split two large pieces of French toast. The toast was buttery, rich, and decadent. Powdered sugar came sprinkled atop the toast. The French toast was terrific and I would get it again. My girlfriend got an "elevated egg sandwich". It was stacked with avocados, veggies, and bacon. The carbohydrate of choice was a fluffy crossinat. It was a really tasty sandwich and the fresh fruit on the side was the perfect accompanying side. I had the chicky Changa. It was kind of like an enchilada with egg, spicy chicken, and savory chorizo and of course a bountiful supply of cheese. Home made sour cream sauce came on top. It was really an awesome breakfast dish with a mild kick. I did put a healthy amount of chalua on mine. Both of us did request a side of potatoes to be extra crispy and neither of us felt they really were; however, that is a slight complaint in an otherwise outstanding meal. Overall, first watch stands out as a clean, fresh, and reliable breakfast joint in Midtown Omaha. I've tried this restaurant a few times now, and I have been very happy with the food here! It is always busy on the weekends, 20-40 minute waits. Their system works very well for them because whatever amount of wait time they quote you, it is always accurate. The servers we've had here are friendly, quick and attentive even though they are super busy on the weekend. They never make you feel rushed at all. We've tried the regular waffle, specialty waffle with almond butter, eggs and bacon, avocado toast and a couple other items. My favorite right now is the avocado toast with a squeeze of lemon and basted eggs on the side. It is healthy, light, but fulfilling. We have also tried the fresh pressed juices here which are also healthy and delicious. Currently, they do not currently participate in the "No Wait" feature on their app, but they are opening 2 west Omaha locations by end of October to help relieve some of the wait times. read more

Let's talk about the good things about first watch. The staff was friendly and pleasant. My cinnamon milk drink thingy was delish. Ok now that that's out-of-the-way, let's talk about everything else. The food was not good. At best, it was mediocre. Astoundingly mediocre. Judging by the reviews (4 star average, 270 reviews at the time), I was expecting that they'd have some great stuff. Then first watch brought out the chickichanga and crushed my dreams. It was an interesting concept but it tasted like some wild concoction I'd make after I guzzle a 40oz. The sauce had an off taste to it like it came out of a jar. A jar bought from the clearance section of a dollar store. I also tried a bit of whatever my girlfriend got - some spinach/mushroom egg wrap. It was completely bland and tasted of over cooked eggs. Gross. Then the check came. I couldn't believe how much it was for two these borderline gross meals and a drink. I was actually angry. Guys. Seriously. I've felt a lot of different things after eating breakfast. Joy. Contentment. Delight. Intense gastrointestinal cramping. This was the first time I ever felt anger. People seem to like this place and if you do, more power to you, don't let me tell you how to live your life. But I cannot imagine ever coming back here. read more

Maybe the first problem dampened my spirit because it was so crowded and we waited for 25 minutes. Secondly, they put Kale in so many dishes, which I really dislike. The omelette I ordered, because on the menu kale was not in it, well surprise because it was in the darned omelette! Third, they only have two boring types of toast and you would think there would be a better variety. It's not worth the high prices they charge. We went there for Lois's birthday breakfast, this is one of her favorite breakfast restaurants because of their Lemon Ricotta Pancakes. Once again she was not disappointed. I started off with a Bloody Mary. It has all the necessary ingredients to be a breakfast on its own. I like mine spicy, to wake up my taste buds, and this one fits the bill. I than had the Barbados Benedict which was delicious. I would have liked to have more Hollandaise sauce, but since this is a healthy food style restaurant, I can see why they skimp on it since it it the most unhealthy part of Eggs Benedict. As a side, I had their Millionaire's Bacon. It is the same as their regular side of bacon with a drisel of maple syrup and a sprinkle of cilantro. The bacon was cooked well done, I like mine a little less, but it was perfect for Lois. Lois had her Lemon Ricotta Pancakes with a side of bacon. Everything was perfect. The pancakes were moist and delicious and the bacon was the way she like it. As usual, the service was excellent and the waitress was knowledgeable and friendly.
