I had off on a Friday, so we decided to go because I was craving their Pumpkin Pancake Breakfast. We decided to split the mixed berry toast. Last time we tried it, the bread seemed pretty soggy, but this time it was nice and crispy. My husband said his chickenchanga was really good. I love the Pumpkin Pancake Breakfast, but this time my pancake seemed to be pretty mushy. The Pumpkin Pancake Breakfast is the perfect amount without leaving you feeling too full. Our server was great and she was very friendly. Last time we went on a Friday, it was so packed we had to wait a while for a seat. This time we didn't have to wait and we were seated right away. We love First Watch so much, we already can't My husband and I decided to go back to First Watch for a Valentine date since he had to work in the evening. Always enjoy breakfast at First Watch! Dined here on a Friday morning just after opening. Seated very quickly and brought bold, yet smooth, coffee. Nice selection of creamer on table. Two of us enjoyed the Million Dollar Breakfast Sandwich - delicious! It was an English muffin with egg, cheese, sausage and the Million Dollar "candy" bacon. A colleague enjoyed granola pancakes which were massive and, he said, delicious! Only complaint was that the fruit received as a side was frozen - not enjoyable. All else was great! read more

Extremely disappointed with the service today. My friends had been waiting for about 10 minutes before 2 other girls and I got there. As soon as we sat down, the waitress said, "are you guys ready to order?" I said, "We are ready to order drinks, but we still need time to look at the menu for food." I placed an order at 7:58 am online for curbside at 8:45. I arrived at 8:40 and realized there was no curbside spot to park in. I get it's a busy area, but if they are going to offer curbside, maybe make a spot on the side of the building. I called at 8:41 am to let them know where I was parked and the type of car. The lady responded with, "I will be right out." 8:51 am, no one is there, so I called. I called them and spoke to another woman who said, "Oh yeah, we need to get that order started for you." What?!? In the meantime, I have a screaming baby in the car and told the lady that, and we stated that I would have to wait. 9:01 am, the same lady calls me and says the manager has been looking for you with your food. Huh? Nope, sorry. I saw him in the parking lot and yelled to him if he had my food, and he said no. So then she last says, "oh, let me let you talk to my manager." The manager gets on and says your food is almost ready and will be out in 5 minutes. Again I was lied to because the lady said he had my food. The manager comes to my car at 9:06 am with food and doesn't even say sorry. Just walked away. I left upset and called and asked to speak to him. When he got on the phone, he was arrogant and agitated. I told him that he could refund my tip because obviously, no one cared to help me. He said, "Oh yeah, because you had to wait a whole 15 minutes." No, I waited 20 minutes past my time to get my food. Unacceptable! This place does not have great customer service and expects customers just to wait for their food past the time allotted. Horrible experience! read more

I like going to First watch restaurants, they all have the same menu and are always consistent in the quality of their food and service. The times I have been to this location there has always been a long wait. So be prepared for the wait on the weekends. The cool thing is that they have technology connected to yelp. So you can put your name on the list and go shopping at half price books around the corner and check your status on the yelp app while you shop. Once seated the service is pretty fast and friendly. Because of my work travel, I have visited at least 12 stores in the franchise. This store was impeccably clean with a too rate work staff. What was extra significant was the presentation of the food. Most restaurants, the actual menu items look better than the food is depicted through pictures or descriptions; not this time, the tacos and fruit were amazing! The place was packed on a Friday morning at 10 am -- but we didn't have to wait for a table. We did however have to wait about 5 min to be greeted by our server. She immediately showed up with a coffee pot and a carafe of water but for some reason didn't give us the water -- and didn't realize until she walked off. I drink a lot of water with my meals and noticed all the other tables in the restaurant had a nice full carafe of water on their table...about 5-10 min later she returned to take our order. I love me some good pancakes so I just went with the trifecta which is a pancake with two cage free eggs and either bacon,turkey sausage, or ham I believe. Obviously I got bacon! - hubby tried out their seasonal breakfast option of a pork Asian breakfast bowl - eggs - a blend of quinoa, and brown rice with Cilantro and jalapeño Anddd maybe some onions? He said it was good but it was a small portion so he also ordered a chocolate chip pancake. Everything was good -- just a little more on the expensive side for the amount you are getting. It's kale, Fuji apple, cucumber and lemon, I'm always hesitant to try juices because they usually have a bitter taste,but this juice is so refreshing and naturally sweet! I ordered the avocado toast and it comes with two cage free eggs. I prefer my eggs to be sunny side up! I also ordered additional sides of turkey sausage and a side of their potatoes because they have the best potatoes! Everything came out in a timely manner, and tasted very good! This was my first time trying the avocado toast and I would highly recommend it. The toast is thick cut with a generous amount of avocado spread atop. My husband really enjoys their hash skillets, he ordered the Parma skillet which comes with egg, sun dried tomatoes, onion ,mushrooms,potatoes and he substituted the pork sausage for turkey sausage. This is one of my all time favorites for breakfast and brunch! I've always had great service here. The hosts are friendly and welcoming and the wait staff is efficient and personable. The restaurant is always clean and well maintained. The first time I went to First Watch I ordered the Farmhouse Skillet Hash. It's got two eggs (served any style) on top of potatoes, onion, tomatoes, avocados, bacon and cheese. It is absolutely delicious. Because I like this dish so much, I've failed to branch out and order anything else! However, my friends have been gracious enough to let me try some of their dishes. The biscuits and gravy are delicious as is the avocado toast. The only thing that I can think of that would make First Watch better would be the addition of more drink options. We stayed in Olathe this past weekend and found First Watch on Yelp. We liked it. Service was attentive. Coffee was strong. Food was pretty good. We tried the Chickichanga and Sonoran Fritatta. I have to say the chickichanga was by far the best. At first I was turned off by the name, sounds weird. But I was so wrong. It is so delicious and flavorful, the santa fe sauce is killer. It is an amazing blend of avocado, spicy chicken and green chilies, the chorizo is undetectable. But it doesn't matter the rest is so good. The Sonoran Fritatta is an open-face omelette, which doesn't make it a fritatta. Even though the description says its made with whipped eggs, it wasn't light and fluffy. The chorizo was a bit bland and so was the fritatta itself. It was ok, just not as good as the chickichanga. If we lived in the area I would definitely go back and try something else. I have been to several First Watches since being introduced to them by my roomie. My favorite has been the one on hwy 69 and college. It also, seems to be everyone else's fav too because it's always packed!!! So I've passed this FW several times and finally decided to stopped in. We walked in and immediately got a seat. Wow, I'm amazed. I was in the mood for my usual belgium waffle (usually why I go to FW) Ordered and food is super fast to the table. Really!?!?! Ok, I am in love. My tri-fecta was per-fecta. Roomie got the works and wasn't that pleased with the omelet. I think she ordered the wrong thing, (she wanted avocados). She said she had to many "brunt crusties" from the pan of her FW potatoes. I don't usually like the FW potatoes but I actually liked these. So I told her to hush, they were good. It gets one less star from perfect because the server just didn't sit right with me. I'm use to the hwy 69 FW with pleasant conversations. Which is probably why that one is super busy and this one isn't. However the host/cashier was friendly. The free Wi-fi was great! I went to California, I came back, and this place went from OK to fantastic. New decor...Joanna Gaines vibe type of decor. Their menu is fresh with healthy options but they still have the classics to satisfy all tastes. My favorite is the garden omelette because it comes with goat cheese and veggies, but the best part is probably the thick, hearty grain bread I get with it and their homemade berry jam. Fresh juice galore, both fruit and veggie, kale tonics... this is 100% the only breakfast place in the suburb area of Olathe/Lenexa that will provide you these kind of options. read more

Disappointed, let down and an overall mediocre at best describes our visit to First Watch. For my brunch meal I chose the eggs benedict. The version here was the classic style but with little flavor and luke warm. My poached eggs still had uncooked egg whites in the middle. The hollandaise lacked the citrusy refreshing flavor it should have. Finally ham was good but cold. Pair this with a side of potatoes that were burned on one side and the rest were uncooked, it made for a disastrous brunch. Last gripe and then I will get off my soap box, with signs saying "Local Food" and "Farm Fresh" I doubt these statements. Maybe the eggs were local but when you have cucumbers, red peppers and avocado (which doesn't grow here anyway) in the middle of winter, you are not "Farm Fresh" when it comes off a Sysco truck. read more

It's times like these I wish Yelp had a half star rating ability because I would give this location 3.5 stars. I know so many people sing the praises of First Watch and I get it: food is decent and fresh, lots of locations, and it's typically a quick experience. But I struggle with the price of items here. We somehow always end up spending $40 or more for two people. I would much rather spend that kind of money on a nice dinner with a good drink elsewhere. My most recent experience cost $54 for two adults an a kid meal and we didn't get anything elaborate. I could have made the same meal at home for a fraction of the price. Our food took at least 25 minutes to come to our table too. I will give kudos to being able to join the waitlist on the Yelp app-- it is so convenient! This is definitely necessary during peak hours and the weekends. read more

We walked around the corner to half price books and browsed while we waited. The hostess told us 20 minutes and our table was ready in ten. Our server, Ryan, was quick and efficient. He wasn't too talkative, but did a great job. Very professional. My wife and I split the Floridian French Toast and the Bacado omelet. That omelet is amazing. One of the best I've ever had. We always order it with egg whites to cut some of the calories. The French toast was good, not excellent, about what we could make at home, but without the hassle and a small enough portion for just the two of us. Let me start by saying that I've never been disappointed with my meals and the service at First Watch and I've eaten at multiple locations across the nation. Being a franchise, I feel like FW offers the best assortment of breakfasts that offer all-natural, organic meals with the least amount of substitute -- use authentic ingredients. If you go onto their website they have a page labeled "dietary guides" that give you gluten free options and what not to eat if you have certain food allergens. How informational and neat is that, especially if you need to be weary on what exactly is in your food. If you're a big coffee enthusiast then you may be a bit disappointed with their roast, but it's not bad. I enjoy their kale and spinach juice, so good and great for you! As well as their other juices -- freshly squeezed and made in-house. The omelette are amazing, this is coming from someone who doesn't care much for omelettes either. I recommend trying the Bacado (bacon, fresh avocado, Monterey Jack topped with salsa). If you're a pancake person then make sure you try their big-as-your-face pancakes (all pancakes are made with whole wheat batter). My favorite pancake is the banana nut and oats pancake (pictured). It has freshly cut banana slices mixed with oats and grains that give the pancake a nice consistency and added flavor. I also recommend their carrot cake pancake. So good! The wait staff is always quick to approach the table and take your order and are great about checking in with you after you've received your food. Very friendly too. read more
