We love First Watch chains and this was a nice location. It was quite busy but we were seated within 10 minutes. The host was nice and our waiter was excellent. The food was excellent and the restaurant was very clean. We had our typical dish that we each enjoy. I was really excited for the breakfast potatoes, but they weren't that good. They had nice flavor, but many of them were extremely undercooked, almost to the point of being raw. I'm not sure if that's just how they are here or if they were cooked poorly today, but that was disappointing. The French Toast was good, the hot chocolate was good, the coffee was just okay. The flavor of the food was spot-on! I tried a new Fall Menu item (Honey Bacon Brussels Hash) & while it was slightly over-seasoned (salty) IMO, the flavors melded well. Loved the chili crunch topping. The only thing that was bothersome was the Brussels sprouts were rather large bites (obviously one can use a knife to cut them), but most were also a tad too "raw;" better that, though, than mushy. I ordered the Barbacoa Chilaquiles breakfast bowl on their seasonal special menu to go. 8/10 This was a big portion of food; pros very flavorful, seasoned great, the black beans and veggies were very fresh! Cons there was only 3-4 pieces of meat, it was way too much tortilla at the bottom to the point it absorbed most of the sauce. Disappointed Anniversary Experience We went to First Watch on Parker in Olathe after a morning bike ride, excited to enjoy a well-earned Friday breakfast and cocktail to celebrate our 22-year anniversary. Unfortunately, the experience was anything but celebratory. From the moment we walked in, the service was cold. The staff seemed grumpy and gave off the vibe that our presence--especially sitting at the bar--was an inconvenience. We ordered a cocktail and were asked for IDs. Totally fair, and we chuckled since we're both 50 years old. My husband had his ID, but because we biked, I didn't bring mine. I offered to show proof of age on my phone--college graduation year, LinkedIn profile, other verifiable info--but the server wouldn't consider it. I asked to speak with a manager, hoping for some basic human understanding. No luck. I understand they have policies, but the lack of flexibility or even kindness in how it was handled was really disheartening. I wasn't trying to skirt the law or cause trouble--I even joked that if the police showed up, it'd be on me. Still, the answer was no. Not only that, but one staff member even questioned whether my license might be expired. That assumption crossed a line. Feeling judged and unwelcome, we left. What should've been a fun, memorable morning ended with us feeling like criminals for making a very reasonable request. We're not upset about the drink--we're upset about the lack of grace, common sense, and empathy. It's sad to see how impersonal and rigid customer service has become in some places. read more

A very unique menu, but a bit pricey to a la carte options. I usually stick with French toast wherever I go, but my friend told me about the Farmhouse Hash bowl and it was extremely delicious! My egg was over medium, so the yoke was cooked just right and oozed onto everything else at the perfect time. The pancakes are HUGE, definitely shareable, but I'd recommend only ordering one if you think you can tackle it on your own. The parking lot is definitely a pain, but there are more spots on the side of the building. The wait list can be long in the mornings, so I would recommend downloading the app and adding yourself to the waitlist that way. Two of us enjoyed the Million Dollar Breakfast Sandwich - delicious! It was an English muffin with egg, cheese, sausage and the Million Dollar "candy" bacon.
