Once you get seated, you'll have to wait at least 10 minutes before anyone shows up to take your order. We found this place on Yelp as we were traveling. After we arrived I realized it was a chain & we have one near us.

I am updating this review because apparently I forgot to. That is unfortunate, because we didn't have a good experience the first time and my review was about that experience. The manager contacted me and we went back and had a much better experience and have been back a couple of times since. I still say they are understaffed because the kitchen gets backed up and there are people waiting while there are several empty tables, but other than that we like it. Came in on a Saturday morning around 10:30, and was told there was a 15-20 minute wait. I didn't think much of it. I expect a wait at most breakfast places on a weekend morning. There were 4 groups ahead of us. But while we waited, I noticed that there were 8 open tables when we got there, and no fewer than 6 open tables the whole time we waited. The food was good, once it arrived, but we wound up eating one at a time. When the waitress brought my food out, she said that my wife's basted eggs were overdone and they had to remake them. I really like this place. The food is fresh and the menu is different than the normal around here. I have had the avocado toast, blue berry pancake, pineapple and coconut pancake (only served once a year but it is to die for), the kale tonic and also some kind of Mediterranean veggie on flat bread item that was luscious. I'm not a big breakfast person, so it's something for me to give breakfast 4 stars. I love that they bring a coffee thermos to every table so you don't have to bother the wait staff for coffee refills. Get the million dollar bacon...it's AMAZING!!! If you like crispy bacon, tell your waitress. Once I got mine that was too under-done. They use thick bacon. Their Belgian Waffle would be AWESOME, but their berry compote totally SUCKS! It's like canned pie filling. It's totally gross! If you could just do whipped cream and strawberries, I'd be very happy. Their blueberry pancakes are wonderful. Caution though- the syrup they bring out is not real maple syrup. Check your receipts though, because I've had the wait staff tell me that it's an extra cost- from $1.29 to $2.00 extra. The menu says $1.29. I've been charged more than that though. My mom loves their Eggs Benedict Florentine! She has never had anything but runny eggs. My dad once got a two scrambled egg traditional breakfast and we were wondering if it really had two eggs. It's obvious that their eggs aren't very big or they don't add anything to their scrambled eggs to make them fluffy. This is our go-to breakfast spot. read more

The first clean eating restaurant to get a lot of hype in Smyrna. Very popular among teens. It's great for dates. They're very hippie chic. My boyfriend had the waffle and said it was good and I had some potatoes that were too oniony for my taste. We love First Watch in Smyrna and we stopped in here since it was close to errands in Murfreesboro. The food, service, and ambience were all great and as expected. But they need to fix their water and dishwashing situation. The water glasses were visibly dirty and had fingerprints. The server said its a chronic problem and may be due to the water softener. I asked for coffee mugs to drink water from since the mugs and plates looked cleaner. The silverware was also spotty. We will stick to first watch in Smyrna for now. read more

We've eaten here several times and the food is always on point. It's a little slow sometimes but that's just due to volume. They have a fairly small seating area relative to other restaurants in Murfreesboro, so that puts you on a wait, especially on weekends when everyone is brunching and running errands. Food quality definitely makes up for having a little wait. Staff is friends and decoration gives the feel of being at a farmhouse breakfast. Give it a shot. Gave First Watch a try on a Sunday at 11 am. Wait time was just 15 minutes. Waitress was friendly but long wait on food. Food arrives, I had Salmon Frittata, tasted very good but arrives barely warm. Potatoes were cold and very bland (called seasoned potatoes.) My husband ordered Cinnamon Chip pancake with Italian Omelet and potatoes with toast. The pancake was the only thing that was warm on his plate. They came and took away his omelet, potatoes and toast. Brought back his omelet, now hot but no potatoes or toast, finally get potatoes, but no toast. Food is good, if it is hot. My frittata should have been very warm as eggs are not good cold, but I ate it as it arrived a little warm and I was hungry. My husband's food was good when he finally received it. He got to eat his meal one item at a time. I had almost finished my meal before he even received all of his. Not good service and not even an I'm sorry. I actually saw during the time we were there that several people were having the same problem. You have major kitchen issues, that the food does not come out warm and when it is returned they can't seem to get everything back on the plate. Looking at the comments on this site, this appears to be a regular problem at the Murfreesboro, TN location. The food took too long coming out. Should be no more than 12 minutes I'm told and it was way longer. The server was VERY nice (I regret not getting her name). The prices are a bit high. I got the lunch special: 1/2 sandwich and small salad and with tip I paid around $10. Tried First Watch today for the first time. Hostess said it would be 30 - 45 minute wait. My wife and I were pleasantly surprised when we were sat in 15ish minutes. Off to a good start. Server was polite and knowledgeable about the menu. We ordered and then waited, and waited, and waited. Around 40 minutes later our food showed up. My wife had French toast and an add on side of bacon. The French toast was barely warm. The whipped butter wouldn't even melt on the bread. I had turkey Sausage gravy and biscuits, house potato hash, two over easy eggs. The turkey gravy is more of a thanksgiving type gravy with small chunks of turkey sausage that was not fresh / hot. The potatoes were basically raw. The eggs looked perfect but I was too pissed to even try a bite. After that wait time and 2/3 of my order being crap I sent it back and asked for a check. No manager in sight. This restaurant is The Egg and I rebranded but still failing the customers in the same ways. Long food time waits, poor food quality, high food price point. I was feeling spontaneous on Friday and decided to try out a new breakfast place. My eye caught first watch and I was more than delighted to know it was one of the best places I have been too. My server, Marissa was so genuine and really made the experience great for me!
