This was my first time eating at a First Watch. My family and I had breakfast at the Murfreesboro unit. The service was good, server was friendly but it took a little long to get our food (12 to 15 min). When we received it everything was correct and plate presentation was very nice. However, the food was lukewarm. It appeared as if it had sat in the window for awhile. We mentioned this to the server who apologized and said that "she would let them know". When she brought the bill she informed us that the manager gave us a 20 percent discount for the cold food which I thought was fair. The food tasted very good and would have been even better had it been hot. We will, however, go back, as every restaurant has their off days. read more

At first when it opened I thought it was not a chain. Even after I found out I can still say that it is really good and has not swayed me away. Have been to this location several times. The food is great, we love to come for the FOOD only, because the serving omg it's perhaps the worst I've seen. The employees are always talking to you like they don't like you or they think they are to good to be talking to you. The food takes forever and none ever apologizes or gives you a heads up in advance, I get it they are busy, but let me know if my food is going to take 30 minutes. Servers are not very nice, we may have encountered one served that was actually nice and truly wanted to do a good job. I have been going to this same location for over 5 years now. Since before I was pregnant with my first child and I loved it until the new manager came over. I have been to the Smyrna location years ago and never had a good experience there because the food was always cold and incorrect. It never failed, there was always something wrong at the Smyrna location so I stopped going before 2020. I went to the Murfreesboro location this week and noticed the same manager that used to be in Smyrna, years ago was there now. I was starving since I had been in an urgent care for hours, so we decided to stay. And for the first time ever, all of our dishes were really cold. My plate was absolutely disgusting, the flavor was no where near close to what it used to be on the pesto chicken quinoa bowl. Which I have ordered countless times before. The kale in the bowl was spoiled, you could see it had turned yellow from where it was no longer good. I was starving so I just removed all the kale and attempted to eat the rest but I couldn't. I had a few bites, just enough to not fee like I was starving and had to stop. I was going to get something else but was told I could only remove items and no longer substitute anything. I can't eat pork so I couldn't get my first option. I had never had a problem with substituting items in any dish prior to this visit. Then we got our food after a long wait and we didn't get silverware for 10 mins after our food was on the table. We had to ask at least 3 times for silverware, which we had asked for prior to getting our food. Our server was new to this location and he looked completely lost like he wasn't sure of what he was doing. A lot of the personnel there was new. Like I stated, this is our go-to location and most of the personnel there knows my kids because we go there frequently and have been doing so for years. Later that afternoon I noticed we all got food poisoning from eating there since it started before we had dinner. And due to being in urgent care we had skipped breakfast that day. So it was had been our only meal of the day. I strongly regret not saying anything, more for my kids than anything. So the new management has definitely brought down the standards of my favorite place and I will never be going back. Waited for a table for over 45 minutes while tables were open. Requested a seat on balcony and were told that we would still keep place in line of no one was seated outside. While waiting we watched for 30 minutes one party that was seated before our arrival, this was only party on patio and after 45 mins they still were waiting for food to be delivered. Well the new has certainly wore off for sure. I don't understand how a restaurant can bring meals to customers in spurts instead of all at once. Maybe they don't understand the idea of a meal? At 30+ dollars for a cold egg and waffle breakfast for two with this kind of limp wristed customer service can easily be bested with a Mac a Dees egg mcmuffin and carmel frappe. We recently moved to Murfreesboro and even more recently got a dog! First Watch is one of the few restaurants we've found in town that are dog-friendly on their outdoor patio. Our waitress even gave us a little bowl to pour water in for the pup! As for the food, we have the breakfast tacos and the elevated egg sandwich, and both were FANTASTIC! I ordered the MILLIONAIRE'S BACON, Skillet Hash - Farmhouse, and the Morning Meditation this morning over the phone for $22. Then I stopped by to pick it up 20 minutes later. The staff was very polite even considering the mad rush in that place. The place was packed full of people at 10:00 am. Staff was telling people the wait time was 30-45 minutes. They would take your name & number, then text you when your table was ready. Well, after getting away from the insane towns folk, I returned to a peaceful home with my breakfast. The bacon was good, the skillet hash was excellent, and the drink was good. I look forward to trying more items on the menu in the future. read more

We have tried this location four times before our final review. This only applies to the Murfreesboro location. This location fails miserably. Each visit was met with sloppy and messy looking staff in collarless tee shirts on people who need better attire. Front desk host service was disorganized but wait staff have always been attentive. Food is over priced. This is all short order cooking. Should 2 eggs and the usual fair really cost almost $10 and be served room temperature? Management consistently drops the wall here. First time eating here today. Food was excellent. I had an egg white omelette with turkey and whole grain bread. I think it was called the Healthy Turkey. It was great! My mother-in-law had half of a Cobb salad and half roast beef sandwich. Again...she loved it. Food was great. Our issue and what will keep us from visiting again was the service. They didn't have a hostess. So we had to wait on the cashier to seat us. Irritating but not a deal breaker. He only picked up one set of silverware. Yes...the cashier had a problem counting to TWO! Again...irritating but not a deal breaker. Waitress was rude while taking our order when we asked for no dressing or sauce of any kind on the salad and sandwich. We had to repeat the request FOUR times. Wait to the food was not bad. 5-6 minutes maybe. But our requests were ignored and the sandwich came with horseradish on it. It was hard to get the waitress to come to our table again to return the sandwich. Eventually she came after we asked another server to get her for us. Sent the sandwich back. Finally got another one after a ridiculous wait! Waitress acted irritated that we asked for a to go box. Basically service was terrible...waitress was super rude. We left a cash tip. It wasn't much but it was more than she deserved. As we were checking out she brought her cash tip up front and threw it at the cashier giving us a dirty look. We asked the cashier if that was normal policy to bring tips up. He said yes. But Kandy was not happy with the tip and made sure we knew it. I work with the public so I know all about "personal lives" and"perception" from customers. I give the benefit of the doubt always! But she was rude. We won't be back. We're baaaack! Thank you First Watch.... Amazing, fresh, healthy food that has been long overdue for the Murfreesboro area. Since we discovered First Watch, it has quickly become one of our fav's... I would like it to stay that way. So, i will leave some constructive criticism, hoping issues will be addressed in a proactive manner. I do have my doubts though, as i wouldn't be writing this if that we're already the case. The food has been outstanding every visit, with today being our 5th visit in a couple months.... The only issue i have, which is very important, is front of house management. Each time we've came in, we've entered into disorganized chaos.... not knowing who is standing in line to pay, or who's waiting to be seated. Furthermore, we are not greeted or added to the waiting list until we flag someone down, as most times no one is there upon entry. They are either busing tables, seating other people, etc. Make no mistake, the employees are working very hard, I understand and appreciate that. MANAGMENT is lacking. For our first time here, we came on a Sunday morning and were seated right away. It took a while to review the menu and our server kept checking on us which was good but she was sort of rushing us a little too. But I can understand because they were busy. Got the donut holes to start which I expected to be great. Well, they were okay but not that special for the price. They also came with three sauces which were okay--one was warm, one was room temp, but one was completely cold. This was kind of confusing because I expected they would all be warm. It would have been better if they had been. So I got the skillet breakfast which was fantastic. I would definitely order this again. My husband got an omelette which he said tasted okay but it was cold, even the fillings. He didn't say anything at the time because he didn't want to make a big deal of it. Also, the coffee. A little expensive at $3 a cup but it was good. They brought a pitcher to our table but it must have been close to being empty when they brought it because after we topped off our cups a few times, it had to be refilled. So I don't know what restaurants normally do with coffee in pitchers that get left on peoples tables. Shouldn't they put fresh coffee in them before taking the pitcher to a new table? Anyway, other than those few little things, it was an overall nice experience and I would go back to try some of the other things on the menu. read more

I've eaten here twice now. Both times we have waited forever on being seated and or our food. The kitchen times are not good and need maybe some management modifications. I asked to speak to the manager I told him to take care of another customer first then he could talk to me. First watch is my favorite brunch place that I have tried as of yet. I miss The Egg and I, however the food combinations on First Watches menu are great! The Chorizo and Egg tacos are amazing. The flavor!! Yum!! Love the Belgian waffle too!!! I do wish they would come up with a separate way to check people in for a table and check people out for their bills. I'm a big fan of their Avocado Toast and so far have not had a dish I didn't love. I'll choose them for the breakfast place to go to with family and friends . First timer to this place. I've heard a lot of great things. I ordered a kale tonic and avocado toast. Trying to keep it on the healthy side. I logged that meal into MyFitnessPal as I waited. I waited about 20 minutes for that meal. Avocado toast. I don't see 20 minutes here, and it wasn't crowded. Regardless, when I logged the meal, I saw it has over 1,400mg of sodium. Thinking that might be incorrect, I began eating. Holy cow the salt! Now, I've cut sodium WAY back in my diet and I'm probably more sensitive to it than others. But, it was not easy to keep eating. I ate it all because I hate wasting food. There's no sense in a dish like that having THAT much sodium. read more

Decided to try First Watch for the first time this morning. The food was very good, and the staff members were by far the friendliest and most pleasant I have ever seen in a restaurant. Carly was up front and was just bubbly and took an interest in me as a person rather than just ringing up my bill. My husband and I visit the First Watch in Murfreesboro frequently. We have never been disappointed! The food is fresh and delicious. Even though they have a varied menu, they also include 'seasonal' menus as well. One reason we continually return to this restaurant is the management and staff's attentiveness to the customer's experience.
