Came here for brunch with my girlfriend today. I've been to first watch in short pump and their food is pretty good. I ordered the million dollar bacon for myself because my girlfriend is a pescatarian and for the main course she ordered the salmon eggs Benedict and I ordered the chickichanga. The bacon came out really quickly and tasted good but the food took a little while to come out, nothing crazy though. When we finally got our food, the waiter told us that one of the cooks dropped my girlfriends eggs Benedict and so our entire meal is on the house. We would have been totally fine if the waiter just apologized for the delay, but they went above and beyond for us and we really appreciated that. The food tasted and looked great! I definitely recommend this place not only for the food, but the exceptional customer service. Bravo to the GM, front of house, and back of house staff. read more

Good breakfast place. Saturday's and Sunday's are crowded. Best to get there before 10am. We had a 20 minute wait, but were seated in half the time. While you wait, there is complimentary coffee, which was nice. There were booths and as well as regular tables. Our table was near the back. The restaurant was quite loud, so don't expect to have deep conversations. Our server was prompt and friendly, service was fast and the food was good. The menu is pretty large, as they have a good selection of break foods. The coffee was hot and good, but could have been stronger. Overall, a very good breakfast place. read more

We use to come to First Watch frequently pre Covid and never had a bad experience. When they first opened they had a chicken garlic hash that's was my favorite so quite disappointed when they did. Today o had the special with the Mexican street corn. I added Cajan Chicken to my meal. 5 dish. It was so flavorful. I throughly enjoyed the blend of flavors. The crema put it over the top! My daughter had the Barbacoa Breakfast Tacos. She is a self professed Mexican food lover and gave these tacos a 5 of 10. The meat was not seasoned well at all. She was disappointed. My hubby had the traditional breakfast. He was pleased with his meal. Service was very slow. Our Million Dollar Bacon was so small. The rainbow toast was great but I would have preferred matching fruit compotes underneath the fruit as it was not very sweet or glazed over it. Otherwise we enjoyed the food. We sat at the community table to avoid the 30 minute wait. Food waits were still 40-60 minutes. We were a little confused if the sever came to us or we had to ask for them being at the community table. We finally got water and ordered. Service was okay. My bestie and I went to First Watch to get some Sunday brunch. There was wait but with the app through Yelp it will alert you when your table is ready. We waited around 17 min before we were seated. We got a table outside under the umbrella. The weather was great. Inoreder the breakfast tacos and the kale drink which consist of kale, Fuji apple, cucumber and lemon if I'm not mistaken. It's great for the kale lovers. It doesn't take like kale, it tastes great and refreshing. My bestie ordered the summer splash. Egg scrambler with fruit and a multigrain pancake Oh yeah, I did later order the Million dollar bacon, it has some maple syrup like drippings on it. I though it was tasty. I was very disappointed with my experience in Midlothian, at First Watch. I was given a 45 minute wait for a table of two, which was understandable for a Saturday morning, so I headed back out to the car to wait. I do find it necessary to note, that the weather was mild this morning. While they did have outdoor seating, I was not asked if I wanted to sit outside. No one was sitting outdoors, so I thought it might be closed. After waiting 45 minutes, I walked back to the restaurant noticing one man and his dog now sitting in the outdoor area. I checked in with the hostess only to be told that there were still 7 people ahead of me. I asked if they had a way to notify those waiting on the list that the wait would be extended. She didn't seem to know and stated , "I just work here." I'd think working there would mean you'd be part of the solution to the problem. Instead, her way of trying to make me feel better was to tell me someone else had waited 84 minutes. Another gentleman began to question where his take out food was. I really like coming here for breakfast. The food is really good and I love that it's fresh. It's usually pretty crowded. Today I had to send my pancakes back because they were burnt. I really want to shout out the server, Julliann! She was so respectful and polite. She also knew to clear the table of items we were not using (have not had this level of service from anyone in a while anywhere!). She was expedient and ensuring we had everything we needed. Our experience was horrible. We didn't get water until 10 mins later. Our waitress was unaccommodating. Our glasses were dirty and had something inside and we told her if we could get new cups. We weren't nasty about it, but simply asked "is it possible if we can get new glasses". She lifts the glasses and says "it's not dirty, they're just fingerprints." Mmmm I'm sure we wouldn't have asked for new cups because of fingerprints... She could've simply said, I apologize for that- I'll make sure to get you new glasses. Or something along those lines. I got the 2 for you or something like that. The sandwich (Monterey Club) wasn't anything special. The bread was supposed to be sour dough, but didn't taste like it, at all. I also got the soup of the day which was some kind of chicken and rice, but it was a creamy type which I'm not a big fan of creamy soup. The guy that brought our food said here's your salad and sandwich, but there was soup so I totally forgot about the 2 for you and asked our waitress where the salad was. She stated "you got the 2 for you" in a condescending way while holding her fingers up with the number two... not too sure how I felt about that. Overall, I'll never come back to this location. Looking for a decent, non-fastfood/non-chain restaurant breakfast in Midlothian and was delighted to come across First Watch. Great location and the Waitlist option on Yelp is the best tool ever. Avoided any wait when we arrived. Modern farmhouse furnishing and atmosphere. The menu was extensive and specials were quite interesting. We opted for the regular menu options. I had the breakfast tacos. Three yummy chicken, chorizo, egg, avocado and cheese tacos with side of seasoned black beans. Husband had The Works omelet. The portions were perfect for us; we came hungry! Customer service was great. Waitress was very attentive. We will return soon. read more

My husband and I have been waiting with excited anticipation for the opening of First Watch. We gave it a couple weeks before stopping in for breakfast at 9 AM on a Sunday. It being so new meant there was A LOT of people there. Luckily they have a digital waitlist which texts you when your table it ready (it's tied to Yelp so you can actually add your name on your drive in!). We were quoted a 35-45 minute wait but it was MUCH shorter. We were greeted shortly after being seated by our server Alyssa. She immediately offered coffee which is a smart strategy however we declined opting for fresh juice. I had the "Morning Meditation" while my husband had the "Wakeup Call." I loved my beverage and my husband was jealous as he preferred mine to his own. As for our food choices, the menu is extensive! There is easily something for everyone. I had the Banana Granola Crunch Multigrain Pancake. Only ordered one after seeing how HUGE they are. I was surprised to see craisins as they weren't mentioned in the menu description however I really enjoyed them. We split the Million Dollar Bacon which was cooked perfectly. I left very full and content. My husband had the Bacado omelet. His potatoes were amazing! The toast and jam were a nice compliment to his meal. He really enjoyed his food and was full when finished (something that rarely happens!) The service is still a bit scattered - our server forgot to bring water to the table until I requested it. The host/cashier system is a little wonky due to the large volume of people. However I think with time and experience these little kinks will be worked out. A few service stumbles, which I expect with any new restaurant, but otherwise the place will do well for itself, I think. Seriously, though, if your modus operandi is to be so attentive you literally open the door for every one of your customers coming in, maybe remove the side I asked you to leave off my plate before handing it over instead of just setting it down and apologizing that you didn't have a chance. Also please do not bring me the tab when I am not even a third of the way done with my omelette. You can say 'no rush' all you want, but I -will- feel like you want me to get out. That said, the coffee is eminently drinkable and comes in a carafe from which I can pour my own refills, which is nice, the creamer is in a bowl on the table so I never run out, and my omelette was pretty darn tasty. Trouble is, I can make pretty darn tasty omelettes at home that cost less and I'm not especially -excited- about things. All the same, the concept is solid and well-suited to the area and it's nice to have more breakfast spots. I will come back and weigh that fourth star against the promise of the ricotta pancakes, I hear they're brilliant, and until then, I will be gentle, because you just opened. read more

They warn you on the menu about the size of the Pancakes, and they're not lying - They're huge. I didn't take heed, and had to take some home. The million dollar bacon was very tasty and flavorful. Joined a friend the other day for lunch and we both ordered the lunch combo were you pick two from an assortment of soups, salads and sandwiches. For under $8.00 a great deal. I loved my chicken avocado chop salad. The dressing was addicting and the tomato bisque soup was tasty too! My friend really liked the kale salad with veggie sandwich. Service was excellent. The only thing that keeps this from being a 5 star review is the noise level.... Hint... The food selection is great and the meals are well prepared, service is great and prices are reasonable. Can't go wrong with the Trifecta, the Original Breakfast or the Hash.
