Me and my wife went in today 8am for breakfast our waitress seemed friendly but very rushed with only a hand full of people in there at that time. I ordered the trifecta, eggs were over cooked but rest was fine. I also ordered a side of buttered grits but were cold and clumpy. My wife ordered the chorizo omelet she said salad on the side was good but just a smear of chorizo in the omelet, tasted like eggs and onions. Coffee was cold waitress left the coffee pot with maybe half a cup of coffee in it. We were still eating and the waitress came by with the bill which was fine but she laid the receipt right on my plate next to my food while I was still eating. I sat at the bar, the only seating available. Except that it had not been cleaned or wiped off. It took forever to get my food, which was not that good and not worth the price and wait. On top of that the waiter insisted that I answer him of everything was ok, when I was in the process of masticating. Avoid at all cost. read more

We were surprised to find no wait on a holiday weekend Saturday morning. There were several open tables. The restaurant is well decorated with some local artwork, there are medallions on the table that explain how they are made of sustainably sourced wood. The coffee is Colombian and a portion of sales is given to women in Columbia. I didn't see any cappuccino drinks on the menu but there were plenty of drink options including healthy combos (one hinted of a hangover cure and looked delicious) mimosas and Bloody Marys. I got the elevated egg sandwich which was made with Gruyère cheese and arugula (bacon if you wish) it was messy and delicious, and served with a side of hash browns that were well seasoned. My husband loved the poutine hash that even cheese curds in it. Son had the Chickichanga and said the sauce was nice and spicy. There weren't many vegetarian options on the menu per se but they were able to accommodate. If you live nearby, you can also wait in line online from their website and save time standing around. Can't wait to go back, my next order will be the lemon ricotta pancakes. read more

Similar to other reviewers, I have had great experiences at other First Watch locations. This new one had very good service and the food was good. We went at an off time to avoid any crowds. My husband's skillet hash breakfast skillet was thoroughly enjoyed. I ordered the Superfoods Bowl; the fruit and granola were so minimal that they could have been garnish. Or, the fruit and granola were as skimpy as the bathing suits on the Salt River tubers in July. The bottom line, breakfast price, was comparably higher than our lunch at a FAV local Italian deli, where we also enjoyed a gelato dessert. We may try again but generally there are a lot of small business breakfast and lunch options to also enjoy in NE Mesa. read more

Pretty expensive for not being that good. It's more pricey than Snooze and not nearly as good. Also, poor vegan options.

I'm local and close to this restaurant, I waited to go because it opened recently. We reserved a spot online to wait for a table. It told us 30 minutes. Great! We drove over and checked in, waited another 30 minutes. Ok. Ordered our meals, I got the short rib doo-hickey with potatoes and eggs. Too Heavy on potatoes. I decided to try out this restaurant after weeks of eyeing it. It was amazing! I ate the Trifecta with a Belgian Waffle and bacon. I also drank the purple haze. It was all delicious! The waffle was light and buttery and the bacon was crispy without being overcooked. The purple have was delicious!!! I love things that taste like lavender and they nailed this drink! It can be hard to get a floral flavor without overpowering every else. The restaurant is beautiful as well. The dishes were cute and the water jugs are old time glass milk jugs. Mackenzie was a great server as well. She was kind and gave great recommendations. There was a baby girl who always waved at her as she went by and she took the time to wave back with a smile. I could tell the little one's parents appreciated it. I will definitely come back again. I will be sure to recommend this place to friends and family. read more

Is customer service dead? I had a rare day off from the hospital, and wanted to spoil myself and get some work done. The host was irritated and rude when I asked for a booth and told me there weren't any, when there were clearly several, just dirty ones. I didn't realize me being willing to wait was an irritating thing. The waitress was short with me, indifferent and actually said "what do you want" vs trying to offer something from the menu. I ordered the traditional breakfast, carrot pancake and sunrise with the additive and coffee. The food was amazing with large portions. Too bad the service made me feel like I was beneath them. Hopefully management sees this, and at least touches base, because perception is reality to customers. Irritable, rude, miserable waitstaff and support staff turns people away. read more

I just spent $25 on the worst breakfast and unsweetened iced tea. Will never order from them again . The iced tea tasted like unsweetened iced coffee that's been sitting for a week. I so wanted to love this place as the menu is unique and has many healthy options. After visiting there my second time, I am officially done with First Watch. Easily the worst service I've had in Mesa and in maybe...forever. In interacting with three of their waitstaff, I can say they all acted irritated to have customers there. They were rude on arrival slapping menus and cups on tables without any greeting, offered incredibly slow service, and each time I had to ask multiple times for things ordered (even simple things like water). Our last waiter when asked for the forgotten order pieces and water for the third time barked rudely, "it's going to be awhile." Yikes. Both visits were weekdays with over half of the tables empty and at least 5-6 servers so not a busy weekend morning at all. The food was good...not good enough however for me to endure the rude treatment to get it. read more

My wife and ate here recently and let me tell you, despite a bit of a wait, it was WORTH IT. Everything we had was delicious. I had the pumpkin pancakes with eggs and my wife had the potato scramble thingy. Food was hot and well prepared, and the plating was picture perfect. Fory bday. Today we went out there for breakfast. I ordered eggs potatoes and ham. Husband order eggs and pancake. Ordered took almost 40 mins. When it arrived. Husbands food was cold. My ham was burnt and hard. Potatoes were salty burnt and greasy. Husband got a brand new order. I only got new ham. Finally. I only got to eat two eggs and a piece of toast. The rest was no good. We didn't have to pay for meal. But I got up extra early to have a good breakfast not to come out hungry. We will never eat there again. read more

I tried reaching out and could not get a hold of someone. I just tried again, and when I got a hold of her she said she couldn't hear me. So I called back and now there's only busy signals and I cannot get ahold of the manager again. I will just can it a loss. Appears the place needs someone who knows how to run a restaurant, lots of staff but average age probably about 17, not their fault but do not know what they don't know. Won't be back. Terrible service. Family went in there waited for 30 minutes to get seated, got taken to their table and never got helped, not even a drink was offered. After waiting for 40 minutes on top of their 30 minute wait outside, they decided it was best to take their business to ihop! called restaurant right after and they tried to tell me I was lying! That no one was waiting and they never saw my family of 5! Considering I have triplets, you'd think they'd remember that. Thought we'd give it a try. My breakfast was a dismal failure. Understanding that it is likly a newer staff and cooks are in training. No protein pancakes, eggs never came out with a regular pancake, they had to substitute the missing protein..., and no eggs because they weren't ready. Needless to say, they never came so the pancake went back... Neighbor's potatoes were almost not cooked, but his plate was delivered in full. They seem in disarray, not knowing how and where to seat ppl. Tables open while a long line waited outside. Great waffles! It's crunchy but nice and airy. Their grits is great as well with the butter and cheese. We did a takeout order here for breakfast but they missed two of our orders and didn't realize until we got home. So that the reason for the 4 stars. read more
