YUMM! Omg absolutely the best French toast I've ever had! I've had my share of breakfast/brunch restaurant and First Watch is by far the best food, you can't go wrong with anything you order. It's a little pricy since the plates don't come with any sides but it is worth every penny!! The Floridian French Toast is the most delicious thing I've ever had! Love this place! I am from out of town and have gone for breakfast 3 times when in town now and it is a place I miss and wish I had near me for at least a monthly breakfast. The avocado toast is absolutely amazing!! Put that with some million dollar bacon and you are golden! Not starving or don't want to be in a breakfast coma that plate with the bacon can easily be split. The service is good but their can be a 20-45 min wait after 9ish on weekends if you don't check in online. Worth every min of that wait. I've eaten here twice now and both experiences were incredibly positive. The food is delicious! I'm a pancake snob and their multigrain blueberry pancakes hit the spot. . Their biscuits with turkey sausage gravy were fluffy and filling. My eggs were cooked exactly how I ordered them. Yum! Bonus~ they have fresh juices. Their blends (especially Day Glow and Kale Tonic) are tasty. Another highlight of our visit were the servers. First Watch is a popular place and the Kale Tonic drink, which I saw many people order, however, not something I ordered. We had four people in our party and were told it would be a 45 minute wait. The community table was open with just enough open seats available, so we were able to get in right away. I had the avacado toast and it was delicious, just the right amount of food for me. My husband had the Works Omelet, it was delicious, he gave me a thumbs up with that "delicious"! Atmosphere was light, bright and cheerful with our waitress displaying the same in her mannerisms, thoughtful and informative suggestions and knowledge of the menu. Food come out quickly, yummy presentation, warm and just as tasty as it looked like. This location is very hit or miss. When the food is good, it's really good. But when it's not, it's super bad. Today was bad. We always order the trifecta and one with a side of crispy potatoes. Portion came out a third of the normal size and potatoes were hard, not even cooked thoroughly, let alone crispy. His scrambled eggs were terribly overcooked, dried up pieces that looked like the leftover scrapes from the pan. My over medium eggs were overhard, no runny yolk at all. Went to the restaurant on Val Vista and Williams Field. Was seated at a filthy table, I had to go to my car and get wipes to clean table. Coffee cup that was brought to me still had lipstick on it. Eggs that I ordered over medium- were undercooked and not done - had to return and go without breakfast because it would take too long waiting to get cooked eggs. Not impressed. I love going out for breakfast. All I can say is this place is consistently average. Not horrible not great. The service is mostly pretty good but the dishes are not as good as other breakfast spots and at least 50% of the time they get something wrong on one of our orders. As an update to my initial complaint regarding online ordering / delivery, a company rep immediately contacted me to resolve. They were very polite and fair. They did not ask me to update my review when offering this; i chose to do so on my own. I appreciate the company's quick and proactive response. First time here. The food was great! The service was fine. The wait was the worst. The wait to get seated & the wait for food. We had looked at the menu before we got seated so that when our server came we would know what we wanted. The food took 42 mins (yes I timed it) and the wait (even after checking in on here & being on time) was about 20 mins long. For sure check in ahead and then add 15-20 mins after that. I had the avocado toast, biscuits & gravy, and two different omelettes (was with a friend) and we LOVED it! The juice was okay. While I am a fan of the classics, they off avacado toast and millionaire bacon. The wait is typically long (welcome to Gilbert), but you can use the No Wait app to get on the list ahead of time. In the realm of breakfast restaurants, First Watch is able to hold it's own but doesn't impress. We ordered the Lemon Ricotta pancakes and the Classic Benedict. The pancakes were a little much on the sweet side. The Classic Benedict looked very appetizing, but the flavors were mulled by the pile of ham which wasn't as well prepared as the eggs that were on top. The service was good aside from the fact of not getting told to go up front to pay and sitting for 10 mins waiting for the waitress to finally let us know. With the destination so close to downtown Gilbert and having other locations like the Farmhouse, Liberty Market, and Snooze, we would be hard pressed to come back. read more
