First Watch is on the top of our list when it comes to breakfast and brunch places, they have a couple of locations now around the DFW area and this one was no exception. They maintain a high quality of service and food quality in all of their establishments. This does make them a top choice for many people so always watch out for waiting times and large groups - but the wait is worth while. We had the Morning Meditation juice, their freshly brewed coffee, the pancakes and the Elevated Egg Sandwich. All of them where amazing - it had been a while since we had a pancake with the right amount of density and fluff (added chocolate chips to it for an extra sweet kick). Despite the continued lines, we tried First Watch for our first time this past Saturday around 11am. With a party of two we were told our wait would be 15-20 minutes....but it ended up being almost 30 minutes. We found out you do have the capability of getting on the waitlist electronically (I think Yelp might even have a link). When you get on their list, they send you a text message which will show you where you are on the wait list. Anyway, after waiting we were seated at a two-top table which was very small with all the condiments and such. When we got our food the table was really crowded. My wife ordered the Lemon Ricotta Pancake (One) and their "Million Dollar Bacon", which was four strips of bacon for five bucks. I had the Carnitas Breakfast Burrito, a side of seasoned potatoes, and coffee. As for the food, it was all pretty good. The Million Dollar Bacon was thick cut, sweet, and slightly spicy. Tasty....but $5 for four strips? My wife liked her pancake, but expected a little more flavor out of it, being Lemon Ricotta. My coffee was really good, and I was happy they left a carafe on the table so I didn't have to wait for refills, which were a little slow coming. My Carnitas Breakfast Burrito was pretty good sized, and flavorful. The seasoned potatoes were well seasoned and cooked. All in all, the meal was good, but I'm not sure how often we'll come back. I hate waiting. Plus we spent almost $40 (before tip) on breakfast for two. My wife was glad she only got one pancake, because it was almost $10. read more

Just ordered through Uber eats and I'm glad I didn't check yelp reviews because normally if a restaurant has a 3 star rating I'm weary to try it unless someone vouches for it. It's highly rated in Uber eats though so we placed an order and loved it! I didn't take the best pictures because we were hungry but we ordered the farmhouse hash, elevated egg sandwich with the potatoes, Belgian waffle, million dollar bacon and orange juice. Our order was well packaged and everything was still hot when it arrived to our house (kudos to our Uber eats delivery driver for that too). The pancakes are the size of dinner plates - and BONUS they have actual, real, maple syrup (my favorite). Get the million dollar bacon. It's delicious. They have a ton of juices to consume but can also add some champagne for those of you who are fighting off the inevitable hangover, or just want to have a lovely brunch where you can stick out your pinky and giggle. Waited 25 minutes outside to be called to our table. That's not the complaint. Once we ordered, we waited another 35 minutes and only had a coffee and juice. Where is our food??? All We ordered was pancakes. The waitress left our coffee and juice bone dry. My husband finally had to flag her down. Mind you, we are not the kind of people that ever get a manager involved at a restaurant. We never send food back, and rarely complain. A restaurant has to be REALLY bad for us to do any of these things. Finally, the waitress comes over and we tell her we'd like some more coffee and to know where our food is. She says it's coming. Ok, well, we have been here for more than half an hour with nothing but juice and coffee. A manager overhears us and comes over. She says, we have 10 online orders ahead of you, and your food has not starting cooking yet. WOW, really? I asked, "so, when might we get our food? It's 10:30 now, so maybe around noon?" She told us no one around us have received any of their food either because of the online orders. So, that makes it ok? She then brings over a $20 gift card (which was nice) but then charges us $14 for the drinks we had! Unreal! I told the staff at the front that they should have comped those drinks and they agreed. I was still charged, of course. Unbelievable. We walked out without any food and went home to cook breakfast. Thanks, First Watch! I cook 6 days a week, this is the one day I'd like to treat myself. Also, this is the second time we have visited this location, and the second time we have waited an extraordinary amount of time for our food. This time, we never even received any food. Off the busy 380 corridor and right in front of the very busy Costco on 380 is one of the newest First Watch store. It's is huge, airy and very well planned out. 8am on Saturday and we were seated right away and there was quite a number of people already eating. Sat right away, server popped up promptly and had our drinks order in no time. I ordered the chickichanga and my friends for the farmhouse tacos and the trifecta. So, what is a chickichanga? It's a chicken sausage chimi; onions and peppers wrapped up in an omelette and covered in sauce and dollop or sour cream. It's comes with their amazing potatoes. I enjoyed my meal, I wasn't blown away but it was good. Downsides; why can't we get one pancake, French toast, or crepe for a reasonable cost??? Major downside for me..... First time back since COVID started and a few things to know upfront... Pros - Tables were spaced out nicely. - Disposable flavored coffee creamers, salt, and pepper are available upon request so they aren't sitting on tables all day with people touching them. - Food is still excellent! Cons - The online waitlist is a joke. The Yelp waitlist link is now gone, so we went to their website. It doesn't tell you how long the wait is before you signup like it used to do through Yelp. I signed up, THEN it told me a 0-5 minute wait. I received a text that told me I was on the waitlist and to check-in with the hostess when I arrive. We checked in after 30 minutes to account for a busy Sunday (and other reviews that said the waitlist times were way off), and the hostess told me, "Oh no, you are not on the waitlist until you check-in with us in person." Then, what's the point in putting your name on the list in advance? We live down the street and wanted to see how it worked. Luckily, we only had to wait 5 minutes in person before a table was ready at 11am on a Sunday or this could have easily been a one star review based on this process. It does not tell you to check-in with the hostess before you are counted on the waitlist, and we were expecting a "table is ready text" first. Service was slow with our waitress and food, BUT I counted this as a pro because it gave my fiancé and I time to drink coffee and talk versus being rushed like other places when busy. I can't comment on the dine-in experience since I ordered for delivery, but First Watch, as always, didn't disappoint. Delivery took a reasonable amount of time. I still had to pop my breakfast into the microwave a bit to get it to the temperature I like, but I won't fault them for that. I ordered the trifecta with multigrain pancakes, eggs, turkey sausage, and a side of seasoned potatoes. Everything tasted amazing and was cooked perfectly. Oh my gosh! Best salad ever! The kale was tender and fresh. The carrots were flavored exquisitely. The chicken was tender and the sliced almonds and cranberries were great. The lemony vinaigrette was so delightful, I wanted to lick the bowl. It was infused throughout salad. I will get this again. Perfect finish for my pallet. The calories were about 850 but this would be for me a full meal, no dinner needed later. Price was about $10. For all you get, this was a bargain. The service was beyond reproach. A cute place that hasn't figured it out yet. The wait in the foyer was short (8 min) but the wait for our food was completely unacceptable. Over 25 min and they got my dish wrong. Server never checked on us, we had to find someone to get more water/coffee and tell us what was going on with our food. Server brought our check while the rest of my family was eating......10 minutes later and with another track-down(this time we asked for the manager), my food was delivered while I was in the bathroom with my daughter. Rough start to our morning, put us behind, made everyone a little crabby. The manager was kind and resolved our concerns. Will be a little while before we return. Good potential here. We've been coming here for breakfast since it opened, especially with my in-laws when they've been over to babysit the night before. :) It's part of our "routine" to come here for breakfast with them, as we enjoy the ambiance, the freshness of the food, and the service. The reason for 4 instead of 5 stars, is although the food is fresh and natural, the eggs almost never seem to be made as ordered. I usually order over-medium anywhere I go, but they've been so inconsistent with it, making it over-hard, that I order over-easy now - and even still one of the eggs is over-hard. Not a deal breaker obviously, but for a breakfast place, I expect more consistency in this area. I ordered poached once (which is my primary preference when a place makes it right), but it was not good here. It was put in a little bowl and the bowl had so much water still in it, so not strained of all the cooking water. Unappetizing, to say the least! But everything else is great. They make their own signature bread, and so the toast is WONDERFUL! I can't stray from the Traditional Breakfast order, because of that bread! Their country potatoes are ok (I've had better). My son gets their French Toast, and it is yummy! Their chicken sausage is pretty good, coffee ok, fresh fruit/herbal drinks have always been yummy if I order one, and my in-laws always order the Trifecta, and enjoy the waffles. I was excited to see this place open up. Grab breakfast, go to Costco, I'm a happy lady... It looked really cute inside and the menu looked great with lots of options and more creativity than other breakfast joints. The patio looked gorgeous and I was excited thinking we found a new place to put into rotation. Sadly, I was getting ahead of myself. There was a short wait even though there were tables and plenty of staff but we were ok with that. We were seated and got coffee quickly... Though it was pretty weak stuff. Then we waited and waited and waited. Our food took over 30 minutes to arrive. The waiter came by to tell us the kitchen was backed up and offered us a muffin to munch on. Then more waiting so I flagged someone down to ask if they started to cook our food yet because I was ready to cut bait. Another lady then brought my son's food over and asked if we needed anything else... we hadn't gotten the rest of our order and they didn't know!? Luckily it came shortly after. The food? Looked nice but was luke warm and not that tasty. We were starving, so you'd think it would have tasted like heaven. When I paid, I was asked how it was... So I mentioned that it took a while.. her response was, "yeah not sure what is going on today." Here's a hint, breakfast joints are popping up all over in the burbs... My dad and I visited this morning, and were quoted a 15 minute wait, which was accurate. Our server greeted us shortly after we were seated, and returned with coffee and water shortly after. Coffee is better than your average breakfast place, and they leave a carafe on the table so you don't have to wait for refills. It took them a while to deliver our food, but it was well portioned and seasoned nicely. My frittata came out borderline burnt and without the sausage I had requested. I'm surprised that the kitchen plated my food instead of remaking it, and really surprised that the person who grabbed it off the pass took it out to my table with it being so well done. Server came by to check on food and I asked for the missing sausage to be brought out on the side. She then dropped off the missing sausage a few minutes later...cold. My hunger pangs won out, so I ate my food as it was served. On the plus side my dad's omelette looked perfectly cooked and had a ton filling inside what appeared to be perfectly cooked, fluffy eggs.
