My wife and I first discovered Eggcited a few months ago. Located near Petra, one of our favorite TexMex spots, we were drawn to it when we discovered it was locally owned. Since then, we've had brunch there 3 or 4 times, and every time has been a delight. We've spoke to the owner, a very friendly Armenian gentlemen whose cousin is also involved with the restaurant, as is the owner's daughter and others. Plus, he's been in the restaurant business for over 30 years, and a number of the employees have been with him for many years. Bottom line, the guy knows how to run a business. Be warned, though, as others have mentioned, there will be a line, and there's no phoning ahead, going online etc. You'll speak to the man with the clipboard, that's the owner. He'll put your name down and find you when it's your turn. The system works, and it's great. But what of the food? We've brought friends and family and between us all, have sampled easily a dozen dishes or more. My latest brunch was the chicken fried steak, and I ordered it kind of half breakfast, half lunch style. I wanted hashbrowns (extra crispy, and boy, were they delivered that way!) but also wanted fried okra, our server accepted the order with a smile. The steak was tender, well coated with golden brown and delicious crust, and the gravy was thick and well seasoned. Eggs were light and fluffy, and one can see from my picture, those hashbrowns were surely extra crispy. We've also sampled a number of the shop made desserts, and they have all been phenomenal. Bottom line, this is a great locally owned and operated business, where the owner is literally involved and working the floor every day, and they're really doing everything right. read more

This place was surprisingly and pleasantly amazing. Went in for brunch and had the cowboy omelet. I ordered for my two sides hash-browns and pancakes. Not sure what they do for their pancakes but they were magical. The portion sizes were plentiful, service was great and no complaints from me. My daughter had the pork carnitas bowl and it too was amazing. The meat super tender and everything cooked nicely. The avocado was a nice touch and helped plate the dish very well. read more

What a wonderful way to start your Sunday morning! The owner/manager was at the door ushering us in with a warm welcome and some friendly chat. We were then seated quickly and Patricia took our order. She did this with a big smile and some cordial conversation and a big welcome as this was our first time here! And served us fresh hot coffee to start with! I ordered the Classic breakfast with sunny side up eggs, hash browns, chicken apple sausage and side of sourdough toast while the better half ordered the Chorizo skillet with scrambled eggs and side of sourdough toast . Both were prepared fantastically with the freshest of ingredients and served piping hot. And we ordered the OJ (sublime!!!) along with it on Patricia's recommendation ! Best breakfast in a long time! A family owned restaurant in a cute up and coming shopping center. Yes please! I came here this past weekend with other yelpers and was pleased with the entire experience. The wait on a Saturday was about 15 minutes. Service was fantastic with the friendly family "we got you" vibe that I loved. The waitress suggested the breakfast tacos with shredded chicken, which I probably wouldn't have chosen on my own, and I'm glad she recommended it. So good. The hashbrowns were perfect. I took a piece of the red velvet cheesecake home and thank you for that. It was perfect. I will dream of that dessert often. If you are in McKinney don't sleep on this cute diner/restaurant serving up yummy food. read more

We came on a Saturday brunch time and it was packed with a large wait. Luckily there were 2 seats available at the bar which was open seating. I ordered the avocado lox toast which came with a little too much avocado but still good overall. It came with 2 eggs and instead of fruit I got hashbrowns. The bartender made a pretty killer Bloody Mary and espresso martinis. The bar was pretty small and felt crowded but just due to all the people waiting to be seated. There was a decent parking lot in front of the restaurant. I don't think they take reservations which is why there were so many people waiting. But otherwise had a pleasant experience. read more

Since my first review, I have been to Eggcited countless times. It's very close to us, and the service, cleanliness, and the food never dissapoints! I always look at the Breakfast Tacos on the menu and debate if I want to order it or not, and I don't order because I am more of a traditional breakfast person - Omelet, Benedict, pancakes.. Yesterday I finally ordered it, and it was the best decision! Brust of flavor in every bite! Absolutely delicious! If you're indecisive about the tacos, just get it, it won't disappoint! Also tried the Croissant Beignets, which comes with a side of Nutella and Raspberry jam - also delicious! I am more of a chocolate person so I thought I would like the Nutella more, but to much surprise, I liked it more with the Raspberry sauce. Be ready for a wait -- but it's absolutely worth it! We waited about 40 minutes and still left completely happy. While we were there, I was amazed to see people walk in, accept a 60-minute wait with a smile, and gladly stick around. We loved everything we ordered -- from the biscuits and gravy and the beignets to the chicken and waffles and the eggs Benedict. Every dish was fantastic. The service is excellent, the owners are onsite, and you can tell this place is truly a labor of love. They put so much care into everything they do. There's a full bar, and even though it was busy, the bartenders were incredibly attentive. They didn't make you fight for attention -- they were proactive, checking in with people away from the bar and making sure everyone had what they needed. We'd emailed ahead to reserve space, but when we showed up needing even more seats, Art, the GM, didn't miss a beat--he quickly rearranged things so we could all stay together. Our servers, Kelly and Olivia, were amazing--friendly, organized, and completely unflappable. Despite the size of our group, the food came out fast, every order was spot on, and everything was fresh and delicious. That's a chance to drive this restaurant wow out visiting my daughter in Texas. Great food, great people - Texas charm, great environment. We were a large party so we were initially told there could be a significant wait, but luckily we were able to get seated in a very timely manner. Easily one of the most efficiently run restaurants in all of DFW -- breakfast or otherwise. We've visited several times at different hours, and there's always a wait (even for the bar), but it moves fast thanks to their seamless operations, clearly great communication, and there's ample outdoor seating during the wait. It's a family-owned spot, and many staff have been there since day one. You can feel the pride and rhythm -- service is friendly, lightning-fast, and flawlessly coordinated. The dining room is bustling with energy but everyone seems genuinely happy to be there, which makes you happy to be there. Food-wise, literally everything's a hit. The steak and eggs are an unreal value -- think steakhouse quality, not diner-grade. Skillets are my personal favorite and loaded with flavor, omelets are football-sized and perfectly fluffy, and the bacon is always crispy. Bonus points for the bar: Unlike many breakfast joints, they have a liquor license, and have $9 mimosas and espresso martinis that are as beautiful as they are delicious. We decided to check out Eggcited after driving by this spot a few times before! We went for a late labor day brunch around 10:30-11 AM and this places was PACKED! When we got there we were immediately greeted (by who i believe is the very kind regular bartender!) and put on the wait list and promised a 30-45 minute wait for a table. Since we were both off today we opted to wait for the table instead of going somewhere else since the reviews seemed promising! We waited with the crowd outside for 30 minutes and then wandered inside once it started to get hotter. The staff were HUSTLING to clean and turnover tables as fast as they could and as promised we were seated around 40-45 minutes later. This place was super cute and the food did not disappoint! My husband got the short rib benny and it was absolutely delicious! The short rib was tender and the benny was perfectly cooked! The jalapeños and chipotle hollandaise do pack a punch so be sure you like the spice or may be take off the jalapeños! I got the cowboy omelette and it did not disappoint! The eggs were fluffy and had a generous of portion of meats and cheese! I added their signature hot sauce for the perfect add of spiciness! The hash browns were also cooked to perfection! We got a side of the banana nutella pancakes and while the plating was beautiful the pancakes were a little disappointing! The pancake was a bit dense instead of the light and fluffy texture I was expecting! The vanilla latte was good but had a bit of an artificial vanilla taste (almost a little like vanilla extract)! I feel like the vanilla would be good in a cocktail instead of coffee so i'm sure they use the same syrup for both! Overall the place was great and we will definitely be back to try more of the menu!! read more

Eggcited is a nice little restaurant nestled in a beautiful neighborhood off University. It's easy to miss so you have to look for it, but their breakfast is well worth it. I had the chorizo breakfast burrito with a side of grits and a fresh squeezed orange juice. First of all, the juice was actually fresh squeezed and not some type of hybrid between concentrate and fish squeezed like some restaurants use, it was delicious. The breakfast burrito was good sized, excellent flavor with just enough crunch from the green peppers. Their salsa was very tasty, not any heat, definitely a gringo salsa, but really good. Their name brand salsa on the table wasn't my favorite, it's missing something no I can't put my finger on it. We were playing food roulette and somehow selected this place. First off this place is a cozy cafe with a warm atmosphere. Without hesitation, the staff immediately seated us and took our drink order and food orders. This place is great. My teens and I randomly found it one day for a late breakfast. The staff was exceedingly friendly, attentive, and personable. We came in for a birthday brunch, and I had a mimosa, which was a great balance between barely any juice and champagne. Just the way I like it. I'm not a huge breakfast person, so I ended up getting a grilled chicken wrap that had more of a Southwest flavoring to it. It was very good. Very fresh sauces were great and from scratch. My husband got a skillet which was actually very delicious. I'm not a big skillet fan, but it was a good amount of spice and they had fresh jalapeños which you don't find often. My recent visit to this brunch restaurant was deeply disappointing and upsetting. After waiting nearly 30 minutes to be seated, my kids were waiting in the car as it was cold, rainy weather and barely any standing room. I was met with unnecessary hostility from the host. I had stepped inside alone while my three children--two of whom are very young--waited in the car to avoid causing disruption during the wait. When my name was called, I informed the host that I needed to call my children in. Instead of responding with understanding, he questioned my honesty and insisted he needed to physically see the children before seating us, stating he "hears that all the time." Despite this uncomfortable interaction, we were eventually seated. I calmly expressed my concerns about his tone and approach to our server. When my children joined me moments later, I approached the host again to explain that I found his behavior inappropriate. At that point, the situation escalated significantly. He became confrontational, claimed to be the owner, and loudly told us to "get [our] things and get out," refusing to serve us and creating a scene in front of other patrons. This experience was not only unprofessional but also humiliating, particularly in front of my children. My youngest, only four years old, was visibly affected and commented on how "mean" he was. No family should be treated this way when simply trying to enjoy a meal together. I cannot speak to the reasons behind his behavior, but the interaction felt unnecessarily aggressive and dismissive. Regardless, this level of customer service is unacceptable. I hope this feedback prompts reflection and improvement, as no guest should feel disrespected or unwelcome. read more

I recently visited Egg-Cited with two of my neighbors, hoping to enjoy a nice meal together. Unfortunately, our experience was completely ruined by the seating arrangement. We were placed in the last booth right across from the restrooms, which was an immediate mistake. It was incredibly disrespectful to be seated in such a spot, especially when people are frequently going in and out of the bathrooms. Every time the doors opened and closed, a wave of unpleasant smells hit us, making it nearly impossible to enjoy our food. It reached a point where I almost gagged! I was genuinely disappointed because I had heard good things about the food, but the atmosphere was just unbearable. I can't understand how they could think that was an acceptable spot for guests. After this horrendous experience, my neighbors and I decided that we will never return to Egg-Cited. Finally! I've found a brunch spot in McKinney that I can't stop raving about! I've been eyeing this place on 380 for months, and when I saw the sign that read "Eggcited", you better believe I was. The location is perfect--tucked away from the hustle and bustle of University Drive, it provides a delightful sense of peace and quiet. We visited on a lively Friday afternoon and were thrilled to find the place buzzing with happy diners. Our server's warm and friendly greeting set the perfect tone for the meal! I ordered their croissant sandwich with eggs and sausage, which was satisfying.. A generous layer of fluffy egg topped with savory sausage made every bite satisfying. You might wonder what's so remarkable about it, but sometimes the simple pleasures truly shine! My husband opted for a Venetian chicken sandwich, which was lip-smackingly good! Again, the filling was generous with onion rings not drenched in oil. They used focaccia bread which was soft and not chewy, like sometimes these breads can be.. To top it all off, I had to try their strawberry rhubarb muffin, which was the cherry on top of an already amazing brunch. I also ordered the crepes, which I thought were delightful, though my husband found them a bit too eggy--but who's complaining in the face of such deliciousness?
