I love this place and the Laurel location more than the Bowie location. The service is almost always slow, but it's usually pretty busy and I'm a patient person. The food is delicious and much better quality than most places. The people are generally very pleasant and responsive to requests. Today was the first time I was ever disappointed. I sat at the community table as I usually do and waited patiently and although I was the only one there for quite a while, no one other than the hostess came until there were two other individuals there . Almost everyone who came after me got their food before me even after I got my order taken. The part that really bothered me, though, is that when the server, Jackie according to my receipt, finally started working the table she must have had limited vision. She never engaged me at all until she brought my check. At least, she caught it was the wrong one before I noticed. read more

I actually like this one better than the one located in Bowie, MD. The wait times are better,( only been on weekday mornings). I can even get a "to go" cup of coffee or water free of charge. Tasty and healthy options. read more

One of the best places to eat breakfast! I'm so glad this place moved to Laurel, it has been a go to spot for me when I don't feel like cooking. I usually get the traditional breakfast with pancakes but today I tried the waffle!! Oh my gosh, it was delicious, I used the preserves, it was to die for!!! I will definitely order the waffle on my next visit! Everything was cooked to perfection, eggs scrambled with cheese, bacon, and seasoned potatoes. I also had this amazing drink with ginger, Morning Inspiration , I believe... if you've never eaten here, you definitely have to give it a try, you will not be disappointed! Great job! read more

First time at First Watch (near the Harris teeter and old navy shopping center). Inside: Nice and open, trendy and clean decor without being over the top. I could tell they had a good set up here for the server area which is nice. Service: Our server was awesome! Really nice and a little funny but she didn't try to hang around or check in too much. Staff were whizzing around so I could tell they were definitely putting in the effort to keep up since it was busy (around 9am on a Saturday). Food: I got the Tri-Fecta, which is great because not many places offer you the traditional breakfast with the bread being a pancake or waffle over a piece of toast! Eggs and bacon cooked just as asked. My Husband got the breakfast tacos, needed salt I think but he enjoyed them too! Would definitely go back and recommend. read more

Came here yesterday with my husband and good friends. We were seated promptly. I love that it is open and airy, while still feeling cozy. That being said, it got a little noisy at some points and I think our waiter had a hard time hearing us. He was very polite and we never were waiting a long time for anything. My husband and I both had coffee, which was a little watery for our tastes. My friend had the OJ, which she said was great. The food was pretty awesome. The pumpkin pancakes were to die for. They were the type of pancakes I can never make at home...fluffy and light. The flavor was very balanced, not overpoweringly pumpkin-y or cinnamon-y. Everyone else said their food was great; there were clean plates all around. All in all, I will definitely return for those pancakes alone. I didn't dine in nor was I able to stay for long to look at the decor and the customer service was good considering I had take out... but the reason for my review is for the grub I had an omelet with Avacado and BACON with potatoes on the side and it was delicious. My favorite part was that they were not scared with the bacon or the avacado. Even better that these folks know how to cook bacon, toasty and crunchy the way God intended for it to be cooked. Tried First Watch again.We got right in the door and were seated promptly. The coffee was delicious and so was the food! I had the Veg'd Out Omlet. The veggies were plentiful and well spiced with nice big pieces that enabled you to tell what you were eating. The omlet came with crispy home fries and a buttered English muffin. Yum! I ordered a side of bacon which came out crispy and perfect. It was actually too much food. In retrospect, I should have eaten half of everything and taken half home. As it was I left most of the potatoes and muffin on the plate. We'll be back! read more

This is the beat place to eat fresh breakfast in Laurel. When you go in ask for Kyia she's the best waitress there! Very friendly and charismatic, and the girl can Sing!!! We have such a good time coming and eating there. The environment is friendly and we never feel rushed when eating! If there is a wait, we wait. If you are ever out for a morning breakfast around Laurel, I recommend stopping by at First Watch for a mix of a restaurant and a touch of busy city life, with a wonderful community table. The interior is very contemporary as it is able to captivate the feelings of a common day café. The staff is wonderful as they help energize those who are still groggy from waking up. Also, there is a wide variety of breakfast selections ranging from the classic pancake to the extravagant egg Benedicts. The food was good for a morning meal, with all the flavors mixing in to have fire works in your mouth! What kept this review at a three stars was the wait time. As we got seated and ordered quickly, the wait one for the food to actually leave the kitchen was tremendous. Even as the waiters and waitresses tried to allay hungry diners, it was to no success since hunger started to stroll by. Even through this negative aspect, overall I would come back to try more of their wide selection that they have to offer! read more

I was visiting DMV area this weekend from Atlanta. My host recommended First Watch. The wait was obviously an indication of how good the food would be. We had the Burrito, the Trifecta and the Frittata Rustica. All great choices. This is my new go to breakfast spot. I didn't know that I had 10 locations in the Atlanta Metro area. read more

Amazing food combined with great service is always a win in my book. I highly suggest downloading the First watch app to check in at the restaurant well before you arrive, it saves you from a long wait time. This first watch is usually pretty good; I order the traditional and my potatoes are never burned and I can appreciate that lol also the service is usually really good and everyone is really nice. The only reason I wouldn't give them 4 stars is because the staff often disregards the tables near the kitchen and they comment about the guests and the amount of tips they're leaving and people dining directly near the kitchen don't necessarily want to hear that. read more

I went to this place because it's right by where I work, but I can honestly say that I will never go there again. I find it ridiculous that I spent almost $10 on a piece of burnt, dry, toast with a scoop of chicken salad and a tomato with a piece of cheese on top. And that's not even with a drink!! To have spent that much money I could've gone elsewhere and gotten more bang for my buck. read more

Every Time I come here I have a great experience but today was the exception. One of the servers came up to us and told us "can you not sit here, I need to clean the table", the table was not even dirty. If he would have taken a different approach toward the situation I wouldn't have felt annoyed. But the fact that he was very rude about addressing us didn't make it a pleasant experience. Not sure if he is new. I have never seen him here and I come all the time. He was a tall brown skinned male with a beard and short hair. Another sever named Joe then served us and everything was ok. After 5 years with Crohn's disease, I finally found a breakfast spot that tickles my taste buds and not my stomach. Normally I have to go to the Amish market on Thursday through Saturday for some fresh breakfast, now I can go less than 1 mile to a harvest of freshness for breakfast or brunch. Their omelettes are the best. The turkey wrap is my favorite alongside the pancakes you can't go wrong. My kids love the bacon. So thick and crispy. Truly an awful experience. We used the no wait app so we really didn't have to wait for a table, and our waitress came right over and got us water and coffee. Took our order and that was all... We never got our food, a waiter spilled coffee all over the floor and no one cleaned it up. Dirty kitchen area, trash all over the floors. Loads of people working, kitchen looked chaotic, customers were all waiting ridiculous time for food. We waited over an hour for three breakfast entrees, never got them. Left money for the coffee and left. No food is worth this kind of wait. Management needs to get it together, learn how to run a kitchen and provide acceptable service. We will never go again, and will tell all our friends not to bother. Many other better choices available. Wish I could give zero stars. read more

We visited the Laurel location and waited 30 minutes for our carry out order that we placed with Lucy, she was very nice by the way. We arrived home to find that not only was our order incomplete, cold pancake, no condiments and to put the icing on the cake we also found a hair in our eggs. This is what we paid $30.22 for, we are very disappointed and may not ever visit one again. My boyfriend frequently visited the Rockville, MD location while at work and wanted me to try out the food. Servers are AMAZING (especially Alicia and Monte). Wait times on the weekends can be ridiculous and server seem to be overworked. They have them doing host/hostess duties as well as waiting tables which seems ridiculous. Food is very very good, I would recommend the Parma Hash or the Avocado Toast. read more

The wait is terrible even with the Nowait app. I arrived a few minutes after my quoted time because they're always behind. Once I arrive the host said that we still had an additional 25-30min. I showed him our nowait time and he said there were still parties ahead of us so that's why there was additional time. I think if they separate the tables of four for two person parties that would assist with the wait. My husband and I have sat a tables that could fit 4 or 6. Just break it down to fit parties. I really wanted to love this place. Other locations came highly recommended. It's located in a large shopping complex with plenty of parking, unless it's the weekend, which is when we went. We downloaded the app to reserve our "spot" in line, so that was nice not to have to wait for an hour with kids in or outside a crowded restaurant. The kale juice is good. My husband had the cold brew and found it weak. The smoked salmon omelette was fine, but not amazing. The eggs benedict florentine was served with fresh spinach and an unremarkable hollandaise. The ciabatta served under the eggs was just so tough I ended up leaving it behind. My daughter had French toast and liked it. The service overall was also spotty. Our server was very nice, but not attentive enough and we had to flag her down 5-10 minutes after they brought our food just to ask for syrup for the French toast. It was busy, I get it, but just added to the overall "meh" experience. I might give this place another shot on a weekday when it's less crowded. Laurel desperately needs a great brunch place. read more

This is one of my favorite places to eat. It is much better version of Denny's or I-HOP but classier. Love the salads, anything breakfast, burgers, sandwiches. It's all good. Waited 50 minutes for a chicken salad sandwich because the kitchen was backed up. Isn't chicken salad something you would have prepared in the morning so when someone orders it you literally just toast the bread, scoop the chicken salad and then melt the cheese on top? My first visit was great! A friend and I enjoyed the waffle, chikichanga, and monte cristo. Since then, the monte cristo has been taken off the menu:(. My last few visits have left me unimpressed. The food has been bland in my opinion, potatoes had no seasoning whatsoever. And my last order for pick-up failed to have a significant amount of the main ingredient (chorizo omelette with two tablespoons of chorizo). Usually a gem worth the wait, but kitchen struggling today. Our food came out staggered and some of it lukewarm to cold. I ordered a simple traditional breakfast with over-medium eggs and crispy bacon. Eggs were over easy and very runny and the bacon overly greasy and chewy. Kitchen took the bacon back and just cooked longer which didn't make it crispy but rather hard and inedible. Hoping this was a glitch and not the downward trend that usually happens to restaurants in this area. read more
