Very solid sandwich shop. We ordered the club sandwich, chicken cheese steak, beef vegetable soup, and some French fries. The club sandwich was huge, tasty and everything you should expect from a club sandwich. My only complaint is that it was a little on the plain side. Definitely needed a sprinkle of salt and pepper to help bring out the flavor. The chicken cheese steak was very flavorful, and a good size as well. The beef vegetable soup tasted homemade, and was packed with veggies(not just mostly broth like most other restaurants). It also could have benefited from a little of salt, pepper, and an acid like tomatoes. The French fries were fantastic, but also needed salt. I'm assuming the cooks at the deli do not add salt because they figure the customers will add it themselves. All in all, I really enjoy Pi's Deli, and will definitely order from them again sooner than later. read more

I was attending the office building across the street for an appointment. I was told they were running behind around 30 minutes and my stomach wasn't having it. It was around lunchtime and my stomach was growling. So, this is located across the street. I went online and ordered a BLT sandwich. The sandwich was ok, but I think they went a bit overboard with the tomatoes and lettuce. It was just on toasted bread and was overwhelmed with lettuce and tomatoes. At least the bacon was fresh and not pre-cooked. So that was a plus. other than that, I probably wouldn't purchase that again, but I hear they have very good breakfast meals. I left Laurel a couple years ago, and I only miss two things: Red Hot & Blue, and this place. Zero ambiance (unless you like the old album covers and license plates hung all over the place), but good, solid corner deli food at decent prices. Avoid the steak & cheese; go for the club sandwich, the Italian club, or the chicken cheesesteak. And for breakfast, the home fries and the sausage-egg-&-cheese croissant are really good. This sandwich doesn't even come with the bare minimum, no special sauce or any condiments. On the app it asks you if you want extra cheese indicating it comes with cheese. This is a divey restaurant that seems to have switched management a few times based on what I've heard. The couple times I ate here there was virtually no customer foot traffic in or out of this place. The restaurant on the inside is very reminiscent of a classic, historic deli in which the owners never invested in its appearance since the doors opened for the first time. I don't think this place goes out of its way to do anything well on the food side. I've had breakfast and lunch sandwiches here and neither were standouts. The couple times I ate here the patrons who I did recognize seemed to be blue collar workers. If you ask me it seems the management team isn't enthusiastic about providing a better service to their current customer base. On my last visit I ordered a cheesesteak which was everything but what I expected from a cheesesteak. A cheesesteak either is or isn't. If you look at the photos, this one isn't. read more

I live like 2 minutes from this place and pass by it often. They have "steak & cheese" in huge letters across the building. I figured they must be good. Boy was I wrong. This is literally the most pathetic looking steak and cheese I have ever had. I asked for extra cheese and they charged me A DOLLAR! 2.5, really. My food was quick. The dining area is campy. First chair I sat in was broken. Not a very inviting dining area or even counter for that matter. On to the food. Steak sub with provolone. Peppers onions. Barely any meat and wayyy over seasoned. The roll should have been half the size for the small portion of meat. Standard steak fries. Just Mehh fries. My job actually has a cafe downstairs that I passed over to get a sandwich from here. Location: Perfectly nestled off the main road but has plenty of ample parking space. Parking is free very visible from inside. Price: For a homemade breakfast that doesn't give you a fast food taste this is the best of the best for a price that's less. My sandwich was only $4.23 with tax. Ambiance: It's retro like ambiance is very fun, license plate tags line the wall, photos of the owner in local news and cool sports equipment fill the walls and pull you in. The photos add that local favorite feel while the large menu selection sucks you into a deep decision making moment. It's pretty quiet and well kept. Nice people work here. Feels like a family owned and operated business. It's impeccably clean, too. My food was cooked to order; a Philly Cheesesteaks sandwich and a bowl/cup (OK, a styrofoam thingie) of chili. Both were magnificent; they pride themselves on the Ribeye meat used in the sandwich. The bun was great- soft, tasty. I dont think they grill the surface of the bun- i may ask next time. The chili was equally good; although you see beans, you really taste the beef in it. Spiced, but not hot-spicy. Other than the size of the sandwich, I've got no complaints. I wish that we could order a sandwich that's supersized to go with the supersized appetite I had when I walked in their door! When you step inside, it kind of looks like a throwback '60s diner, with vinyl records decorating the walls, and some license plates decor. The menu is pretty extensive, offering breakfast platters, steak & cheese varieties, sandwiches, soup, and salads. I tried one of their Steak & Cheeses, as I couldn't pass up on the large signs of this item, donned outside of their building. The sub itself was rolled up in some heavy-duty parchment paper and foil; the filling was generous of freshly-sauteed meat and sauteed onions, but it was a bit underseasoned and bland. I wished the cheese was a bit more melty and there was some more seasoning to the meat. The bread was slightly too soft for the filling. There was only one male employee in there, but he was pretty efficient in taking the orders and cooking up the orders - literally a one-man show! Have been a frequent eater of PI's for years. Right down the street from the office so its always a good option when I need a quick bite to eat. Change of ownership in the last couple of years but the new owner has kept the menu the food pretty much the same and has made some renovations including adding lottery and some additional food/beverage options. Staff is always friendly and food is decent. I think some of their lunch options are priced a bit high for the overall quality of food compared to what you can get from other places. This is considering that a lunch sandwich, fries and combo will run you $10 with other lunch options with higher quality food are at that same price point. Walked into Pi's deli and what first captured my attention were the records and vintage license plates on the wall. When I walked up to the counter Alycia said "New face". I said yes, this is my first time here. I just found out about this place. She told me they've been there for a long time. She welcomed me and said she hopes to see me back again. She told me her name and told me the cooks name, I apologize if I've gotten the name wrong, but she said his name was Ron or Don. Either way, they seemed very nice. I placed my order and got the hotcake platter with scrambled eggs and sausage and the french toast platter with scrambled eggs. When I opened my food the smell of cinnamon from the french toast smacked me in the face and it smelled so good. The meal was descent. My only complaint is I would much rather had shredded cheddar cheese in my scrambled eggs as opposed to having American cheese just being placed on the eggs to melt. read more

Quick and easy breakfast hidden gem in laurel. My go to is a bacon egg and cheese. Tried the steak and cheese and was pleasantly surprised. They have tons of items on the menu. All types of sandwiches and burgers. Also sell scratch off tickets and while I wait for my food i usually win all of the money I spent plus some back! Me and my husband had been passing this place for so any years and the "Steak and Cheese" Sign on the window always stood out to me but I never stopped. If you're into overpriced deli food then this is your place. Came in here for breakfast for two. 2 sandwiches no sides and 2 juices $18. Ummm yeah I'll go to IHOP or dennys next time. For the price I was expecting a lot more. The taste is good but I'm more for the price. I've been at "fancier" dinners in the district for less the price and left much more satisfied.
