I enjoyed my breakfast meal here with the understanding that this is not fine dining, you get what you expect or better. Got the breakfast combo: Scrambled eggs: Nothing fancy Bacon: Cruspier then I like but tasted good. Breakfast sausage: Much better then I expected, it tasted like a real sausage and not some crummy Jimmy Dean style nonsense. Pancakes: I confirmed that they add vanilla to their pancakes which makes them more interesting then standard ones. They also use cake flour, which I think makes them a little sweeter then normal pancakes, but I am not sure. My friend always gets the eggs benedict, he changes which version each time. read more

Excellent service, and a great, fun 50's diner look inside and out. Everything seems to be home made here (not sure about their desserts,).... Turkey is thick sliced. Mashed potatoes are home made. The turkey gravy is great- and isn't overly salty. The only ding is to the iced tea. We had a wonderful experience dining here. Our server, Bhosle (I didn't get a chance to ask him the proper spelling, so if that's wrong I apologize), was fantastic. This was my first visit to the diner, and I wasn't sure what to expect based on the mixed reviews. At first, I was planning to order breakfast, but then decided to have lunch instead. I love rockfish and was shocked to see it on the menu, especially whole. I ordered it broiled with the side of broccoli and green beans. The broccoli didn't have a lick of seasoning so I dipped it in honey mustard dressing and the greens were okay. The fish was delicious & broiled to perfection. The skin was crispy just the way I like it and the fish was flaky. I'm not sure what they used to season it, but I could definitely taste a hint of lemon. My overall rating is still probably a 4, but my experience today was a little disappointing. To start, though, I'll say my wife loved her french toast, and it looked great. The fruit topping looked delicious and fresh. I order the Garden Omelette and was disappointed. It wasn't bad, but it was overcooked in my opinion (slightly). Also, I didn't realize there is no cheese in that omelette. I honestly though cheese was in all omelettes by default. The home fries were just OK. I forgot to tell them I likely them well done. We used to go to the Frederick location all the time before it closed. This was our first time here. We love a good old diner. The service was wonderful. The food was fantastic, just like the other location. One of our favorite dishes was the Stuffed Shrimp, so I had to get it again. It comes with two sides and a soup or a salad. I opted for the cream of crab soup but was not a fan. The stuffed shrimp was delicious and huge. We also ordered chocolate chip pancakes. They were also two thumbs up. I so wanted to enjoy my experience here, but it didn't turn out so well. I love diners and the food they serve. And I know that no two diners are alike. But some should just try to focus on the diner part and not go fancy. Coming in here is a bit confusing. I understand that to-go business is a big portion of their business, but you have no idea who might be waiting for a seat to eat or a bag to go. After sorting out who was there for what I was able to find my way to a table. I felt bad taking up a booth for four when I was dining alone, but I can't trump where the hostess sits me. It took a while for a server to make their way to me, by the time they did, I was parched. Take note of this, I placed my drink order when first approached. She goes to tend to whatever she was doing and comes back a good time later. When she does I place my order while still parched. I went with the Open Faced Meatloaf Sandwich. This comes with your choice of soup, potatoes (mashed, obviously), and vegetable with most of the plate being smothered in gravy. Do yourself a favor, do not go to their website prior to visit. You will be sorely disappointed. Their website makes their food look too good to be true, that this is a world star diner. If you do go to their website, just use my pictures attached to confirm the actual look of their food (honestly, a majority of their pictures on their website look like stock photos). When I placed my order I had asked what their soups were for the day, neither one of them agreed with me and I asked to substitute a side salad instead. Then I had picked broccoli for my vegetable. Still parched at this point. She goes off again to tend to whatever. I watch as other customers get their drinks, all the while I sat there parched. My salad comes over and before I can say anything about my drink she is off again. The salad was decent and the amount of dressing I got could have made it a soup. The salad had grape tomatoes, green peppers, cucumbers, red onions on top of a bed of mixed greens. It was fresh, and if I am being honest, the highlight of the meal. Oh, still parched. Then my food starts to come out. The open faced sandwich was put together so sloppily. It's like they threw the bread on my plate and didn't arrange it to make it even. The pieces of meatloaf were then placed on top of the uneven bed of bread. They then douse it with gravy, never took the time to wipe the edge of the plate. When my food did show up, I was given soup instead of vegetable. I had to wait to grab my server's attention again to get it corrected. When she did, she brought the wrong vegetable at first and had to go back a second time. (SO PARCHED) But before she could hurry away I made sure to point out that I never got my drink. She apologized profusely and when she returned with my broccoli my drink finally arrived. I was going to chug it, but knew if I did, I may not get a refill. I was disappointed with the meatloaf. Usually at a diner I clean my plate. I couldn't here. The broccoli was the best part of the main meal. The meatloaf was dry. I know, but it had gravy. Well the gravy was not good in the least. It was thick and bland. The potatoes, were amazingly bland that it tasted like I had tried to eat paper. The gravy didn't help here either. When my server finally came back to check up on me I asked for my check. She noticed the amount of food on my plates that was left. She flat out asked me if I didn't like it. Who does that? In a restaurant, who, from the staff, actually asks if you didn't like it? I mean it wasn't in a concerned way, but more of an accusatory way. Like I was in the wrong with my tastebuds. It felt a bit hostile. At that point I just wanted to get out of there. So, overview. Their website is a scrapbook of stock photos that misleads you to try items that look nothing like they are portrayed. Service may not be the best. You may be thirsty. I took DGD here for brunch on Saturday, 11/11/23. Just a bit behind in my reviews ;) Parking lot is large and free. They seemed to be extremely full and busy, but as someone else remarked, there are people waiting for pickup in the same area as one checks in to be seated. It was confusing but when I saw they had counter seats, I asked if we could just go there. The mildly surprised attendant said, "Sure!" DGD thought it was fun to sit and watch all the action. It was a bit noisy, but part of that was kitchen staff and the owner or manager yelling at one of the staff members right near us. We were also close to the toaster - fascinating to DGD as it rotated the bread through on a conveyor type thing - and the milk shake machine, etc. She wanted scrambled eggs but ending up not eating them. She liked the sausage links, which were really more like brats. She was skeptical at first because she doesn't like the casing and wished she had ordered sausage patty instead. She really, really liked her chocolate shake! I got the avocado-tomato omelet with none of the proffered carbs. It was more than enough food, especially since I did end up eating half of one of the large sausages. I had a decaf and it was very tasty, not burnt or bitter. My only shock and it was truly a *shock* was the prices. This is not a cheap breakfast spot, so be aware. By the time I added a decent tip, it was just over $49 for the two of us. So, that won't be a frequent stop for me. But I'm glad I got to take her and spend time together. read more

I placed an order online for carry out. The food was ready on time and sitting on a booth table by the door when I got there. I left, but returned a short time later (I was just across the street and thought it would be quick) for an order of french fries that I thought they forgot. (This is a side story that turned into an argument that I ultimately lost. Bottom line, there's an error on the website, so I had to pay extra to get the fries I wanted, which I did. The staff was mostly professional while dealing with me, but I got agitated over the way chose to address it and the experience was off putting.) I used to be a regular at the Glen Burnie location and thought this would be just as delicious. It was not. To be fair, everything was lukewarm warm and maybe that's why it was just ok. I arrived after notification that my food was ready and within my pickup window, but I have no idea how long it was sitting by the door before I arrived. Add to that the delay because I went back for the fries. Also, I had to reheat the omelette I ordered for myself- maybe that is why it wasn't very good. The soup was just ok. The chicken salad was good. The plain cheese burger was good. The fries were really good, but they were fresh and hot. Overall, it was disappointing. TIP: Lower prices and smaller portions My breakfast was over $30 for one person: French toast, egg whites, turkey bacon with apple juice and decaf coffee (coffee was aweful too). Serving size was for a 400 lb trucker or for 3 normal sized individuals. Then, had nerves to ask for a tip-which I gave. My real tip is Lower prices and reasonable portion sizes. I came here last Friday (May 16th). I was waiting on my bike to be serviced. So I came here to kill some time. I asked one of the servers if I can dine in by an outlet to charge my phone. So the gentlemen discussed with the host. She stated that I had to purchase/dine in. I mentioned to her that I am dining in and I prefer to sit by an outlet. My server was Fazal. Fazal, was nice and friendly. He was patient and was attentive. He kept checking on me to make sure I didn't need anything. I didn't have to look for him. I watched him attend to other tables, and his demeanor was very comforting. Shoutout to him for the great service! 5 STARS FOR YOU. I went to the bathroom before I left and the bathroom was clean! The food is amazing. Service is amazing. The patrons are amazing. I was alone in the restaurant and away from home by 5 hours. I was wearing my Desert Storm Veteran ball cap. The people that were sitting behind me stopped and thanked me for my service. When I asked for my check when I was finished eating, the waiter told me that those same people paid for my check. On October 8th, I had lunch at the Double T Diner in Laurel, Md. Both the ambiance and customer service were excellent. Likewise, the food was excellent. I ordered a chef salad that included soup. The chicken noodle soup was very flavorable and the best I ever tasted. The chef salad was fresh, plentiful, and the three meats were generously cut. We usually love Double T, this time not so much. The Cream or Crab soup was probally the worst soup we ever had. The Veggies were both undercooked and tastleless. The Crab cakes (usually the best around here) were not bad, but certainly not like the were in the past. When I spend $130 on a meal for two people I expect a little more. This visit I had the Double T Breakfast Special which consisted of French Toast, Eggs, Bacon, sausage, and home fries. If you ask me that is a pretty decent breakfast and for the price it was even better. Everything I've ordered from her thus far has been good with no complaints. The prices are really good for the amount of food you receive. I haven't had to worry about a wait when coming here and am always seated immediately, the customer service I receive has always been great. A friend treated us here and raved about the crab cakes. He told me that I wouldn't be able to eat both crab cakes because they were just to big. Challenge accepted sir! So this a diner with all your comfort foods, served all day! The first thing I noticed was the amazing looking desert case. All flavors of cheesecakes, pies & ice cream. We did get fixings, salads, fries, veggies on the side but none of that mattered. A good city can have a couple of celebrity chef joints, becuase there is a place for $30 burgers. That is not always the place you want to be as a customer though. I'm of a mind to leave those places and prices to the tourists. Of course if I am travelling I schlep over and plop down that cash, and complain about it. What every city needs is a Diner. I am delightfully stuffed. I felt like I was making one fo those Youtube videos and cherished every bite. All of the right notes were hit by each item. The soup was a little weak, but siracha punches everything into a better place. My wife got a Turkey Club Pannini (soup, fries, slaw). It looked great, actual sliced turkey, good solid bread. She brought half home for lunch tommorrow. The slaw was good if basic. Now the feature that at least tonight, here in Laurel that gives this spot an additional star was Rolando. He was the only server (that we saw). He was literally trotting from place to place. He had at least 7 tables going at one point. Nothing but smiles, hustle and efficiency. Never a snide under the breath comment about lack of support/workers in the economy as a result of national economic policy (or any other stupid thing that doesn't need to be said to customers). I don't know about you, but I prefer eating real food off of dishes with real silverware. Coffee in a real cup, not a paper cup. As you might expect it has an extensive diner menu. The portions are generous, and we have never had to wait for a table. The staffing is friendly and the food is good and reasonably priced. Mark it down. Skip the turnpike fast food. We came here for breakfast with family friends who raved about the place. The diner did not disappoint. The have a massive breakfast menu of many food items to choose from. It can be a little overwhelming for those who are indecisive. As we had a very indecisive person in our party of 5. We are seated quickly and at a large table so we could spread out and I appreciate that. All of our food came out hot and freshly made. Which is a plus particularly when you have a large party. Our server was so attentive and absolutely a pleasure to converse with. She kept our coffee cups filled at all times which this coffee lover appreciates.
