Host welcomed and sat us immediately. Our server was professional and answered any questions we had. I ordered waffles and chicken. It was more like for 2 people, so I had to bring some home. The chicken was crispy like I requested. My hun, chose the rockfish with broccoli and mashed potatoes. He was truly impressed on how tasty the fish was. Nautilus is a reliable choice for a quick meal any time of the day, open until 11 PM. I usually visit with a group of at least six people, and they consistently take good care of us and our orders. The food isn't gourmet, but it is enjoyable. Their menu is extensive, and occasionally I venture beyond my usual choices. So far, this has paid off, especially when I tried the open-faced roast beef with gravy--it was a delicious, messy, experience! My only complaint is about the lack of seasoning at times. We ordered flaky, well-sized grilled fish, but it lacked any seasoning. Really? The wings were well-prepared, but they could use more sauce. So me and my dad are traveling and we stopped here for some breakfast. The look of the diner was incredible it's beautiful. We were seated almost immediately there wasn't many people in the diner. I had to use the bathroom so I walked in there and didn't smell very good. First bad sign. I walked in used the bathroom went to wash my hands, and one of the towel dispensers wasn't working at all the light didn't turn on. The other one worked but the towels were just placed on top of it. No one bothered to refill it. The toilet paper dispenser was also really close to the ground, and I saw a lot of elderly people in there which made me wonder why it was so close to the ground? Not everyone can reach that low. It was also the handicapped stall that had this in it. I am almost fell off the seat. It also didn't feel super clean. I went back to the table and order an egg sandwich on a bagel with Canadian bacon with a side of hash. My dad ordered some scrambled eggs, potato's and sausage. My sandwich didn't have any flavor I had to put pepper and salt on it for it to taste ok and I didn't eat the other half of the bagel it just wasn't satisfying. The hash on the other hand was really tasty. My dad said his egg and sausage was ok nothing great. He said the potato's were kind of gross and I have never seen my dad not eat everything on a plate before plus he is a pretty fantastic cook and has worked in many kitchens and said this food wasn't good. Personally I would have just kept driving if I knew what this food was like. When we were about to leave the waiter had noticed I didn't finish my food and he shook his head at me which threw me off. My husband and I have been to the Nautilus several times over the years. I have just never reviewed it. Yesterday, we went for breakfast. We were seated quickly and our waiter came over shortly thereafter to offer us a drink. My husband ordered the chicken and waffles and I ordered a double stack of pancakes with chocolate chips. My husband said that the chicken was fine. He was pleased with the crispiness, but said it could have used a little more seasoning. He is a bit of a chicken and waffles connoisseur. My pancakes were good. They came out very hot and, in addition to having chocolate chips mixed in the pancake batter, it was a healthy helping of them on the top. I probably could have done without that extra portion, because they did melt quickly and made the pancakes even more sweet than usual chocolate chip pancakes. However, the pancakes were good. I would just ask that they not put the extra helping on the top next time I order. When you go to a diner like this, you are going for the convenience and for the very vast menu. If you're looking for a gourmet experience, you will probably be disappointed However, for a convenient meal with a friendly staff, you can definitely count on the Nautilus. read more

I don't usually write reviews but if this review helps anyone. Here you go. As a first timer. We paid to leave. We were greeted upon arrival and seated quickly. Service was quick- food arrived quickly, too quickly. I ordered farmers omelet with a waffle. My partner ordered hungry man and a waffle. The food was tasteless and dull. Home fries looked as if they had been at the window all morning because the plate was warm and the fries were burnt- the portion was huge and would have been appreciated if it didn't look like it as at the window all morning long. Stabbing the potatoes- you can tell they were cooked HOURS ago; not recently put on the grill. The bacon was stiff closer to the beef jerky looking side than actual bacon. The waffle and toast were the 'best' of our entire meal. This is a one and done type of visit. read more

2 stars because the wait staff were kind and quick. We came in for dinner earlier this week and should have turned and walked out. The diner only had 2 other patrons and the staff were lounging in a booth up from just chatting. The food quality is similar to a residential nursing home. I asked for extra gravy and it's clear the congealed gravy came from a can, flavorless and thick. Almost like a cream of something. Everything was flavorless, my chicken was DRY and I gave up after a few bites of everything. Our dinner was extremely unpleasant, unseasoned, and I question the "everything from scratch" claims. Also, side note, the bathroom needs better ventilation. Someone dropped a bomb prior to taking my little one in to wash her hands and I was dry heaving the entire time. For an empty restaurant, the smell was putrid and long lasting and I couldn't go back in. We won't be back. read more

It can get crowded and there will probably be a wait on the weekends. They have a bar area if you want to be seated quicker you can seat yourself. I've never had anything bad at this place. This diner has become my go to spot since I've moved closer to the Crofton location. The staff is always on point and the food delicious. There's not a bad dish on the menu. I've had breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner here over the years. A cozy neighborhood diner that has plenty of seats. Prior to Covid, the hours were late night. A group of 9 of us had Dinner there on Sunday, June 14 I ordered a ribeye dinner with mashed potatoes and butter and broccoli. When I got the steak it looked weird was not browned on top. It was grayish looking. I took a bite of my steak. It tasted strange. I took a second bite of my steak and I could tell the meat was bad. Immediately my stomach started, twisting and knots I took it to the waiter. He called the manager. They asked me if I wanted a different state. I said no my stomach is messed up. I do not want anything. They said well our steaks are good and I said well. This is bad. I went home. and had to get medication for my stomach I did not even know that they still made Pepto-Bismol the end that I have not taken it in years. I took that in Tums three hours later and running back-and-forth to the bathroom made my stomach finally feel better. They were slow and we repeatedly asked for our drinks to get refilled. I had been pushing to go here for a while because I thought diners always had some of the best pancakes. My wife kept pushing back because she didn't want to change her breakfast spot, but she finally relented and we made our way to Nautilus. The food was fine, I was a little disappointed by the pancakes, and the portions were kinda small based on the price points. Hubby brought us here for breakfast after I dragged him out for a hair consultation and we were starving. We have one near us, but not all locations are the same. This place seem a little outdated with decor and appeal. I ordered the egg's benedict which came with a side of fried potatoes and hubby ordered an omelet which came with fried potatoes as a side of toast. Food for me was just so-so. Nothing to brag about. I think the went overboard with the hollandaise sauce, I could barely finish my meal. Here is the negative- the bathroom. Both me and husband both compared notes in how disgusting the bathroom was. Now I know I get the Lysol toilet cleaner that has a good bleach cleaning agent that get rid of the disgusting mold around the inside the toilet. The toilet looks like it has not had a deep clean in God's knows when. The toilet paper was not fully stocked for the breakfast/ lunch crowd. I had just enough to use. The service was soooo slow! I went in around two o'clock on Sunday and it was not super busy. It took at least 5 minutes to the bus boy to bring silverware to our table and then another couple minutes before the server appeared to take our drink order. I had a bowl of cream and turkey soup which was delicious. It is one of my favorite diner soups and it definitely lived up to what I was looking for. I had the Mediterranean Chicken Sandwich. It was delicious! I would definitely order it again but next time I would upgrade to waffle fries or another side because the regular fries were super super bland and boring. I only ate a couple of them and stole my husband's waffle fries which were yummy! My husband has the Cali Club sandwich which he enjoyed. Nothing super fancy but it filled him up. When it was time for the check we waited and waited and waited. It got to the point we almost got up and went to the counter to pay without our receipt. It was painfully long. This is my aunt's favourite diner for getting crab cakes, so she brought us here for dinner. I order the 2 crab cake platter and I was sad that the baked potatoes were sold out and the mashed potatoes weren't so bad. The salad and broccoli were fresh, but the crabcake was not fully broiled. The flavor was good, but it was gooey. I ate one and saved the other. The staff was so nice, I didn't want to send it back. After refrigerating it overnight, it tasted better, like a deviled crab! Getting better...the food is plentiful and solid as it was first time around. Went on a Saturday afternoon,similar to first visit reviewed in 2021. I would say they have a "season" under their belts with full staff now. Our server was prompt, polite and accurate. She didn't hover nor did she quite ignore us, made sure we had everything and let us linger and enjoy our meal. This was the last place I ever had a meal with my Uncle Vince. We were there Saturday with my Aunt after cleaning out a shed for her. I wouldn't say my beloved relative was a hoarder but how many drills, screwdrivers, wrenches, nails, screws, files, saws, etc. does one person need? Its almost like he was running his own vocational school. I love that guy and I miss him dearly. So while we were not somber at all, it did have a chance to be a nice rememberance.... Had lunch at the Nautilus today the food was horrible from the salad, which was iceberg lettuce with more bad stems then good one worst lettuce salad I ever had. than I ordered barbecued rib dinner with spinach/cream mix, baked potatoes with butter, sour cream roll and cornbread. all was the worst food ever. Barbecue meat seem foreign tough meat, not pork or beef meat foreign meat replacement from a freezer boiled it and slap sauce on top. The baked potato was dry not Russel potato, but the worst to serve anyone, couldn't eat even the bread, cornbread looked nasty without tasting. And the Giner ale drink was weak watery no soda taste. Second visit and I don't think that I will be returning. A lot of short cuts when it comes to preparing dishes, that they use that could easily be avoided. Who melts sliced processed cheese over chili fries? Also never had an omelet that didnt have cheese on it. I was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, but the food actually is disappointing and as much as I wanted to keep coming here for my daughter. I'm just gonna have to eat this L as a dad, because it's gotta be one of the worst spots in the area. I gave them an extra star because of the desserts, but I'll pass on everything else. read more
