I was invited out to dinner by some friends. This was my first visit to the diner. The staff was friendly and the service was solid. As with most diners, the menu was extensive. There was even a list of daily specials. While talking with my friends, I learned that the owners were minority. I was happy to hear that. It made me appreciate being there. I ordered one of the daily specials. What I liked the most was the portion size. I ordered salmon with some sort of rice dish. It was plentiful indeed. The flavor was lacking though. I love my food to be full of seasoning. I didn't get that from this dish but I get it. You can't put a bunch of Cajun spices on the food when everyone can't handle it. I ended up taking a big portion of my food home since it was so much. Would I visit again? Sure. On 05/25/2025 around 6:50pm, I went and the waiter (woman) wasn't attentive (not the manager that's been working there for years) and had an attitude because SHE couldnt understand/accomodate my request. She IGNORED me the entire duration of this visit. MY food was cold as she left it sitting after it was done before she brought it to my table. This isn't the normal practice there, from my experience, over the years. Even after I got the food I continued to wait..No follow-ups,no "how's it going ",no nothing. I wanted to order more but after waiting for so long to grab her attention.. I was like let me get the check and go. Also my drink wasn't full (noticeably only 3/4 quarters full) maybe a mistake. . idk...At the time, it was mostly older white Americans there. It seemed like she was simply trying to please them and ignored me as a black woman. One of the worst places I've ever eaten. Tried to order the special bbq ribs, told after 20 minutes of waiting they were out. All the food was extremely bland, could tell the deep frier wasn't ever cleaned since the fries tasted like fried chicken. Everything frozen and nuked to disgusting overcooked level. Server was soooo quiet we couldn't ever hear anything he said. Daughter ordered a children's meal, which she got but then was charged the adult price. I pointed this out and was told she looked older than 9 so she needed to pay adult price even though she ate a kids meal. Unfortunately there were only two waiters on Veterans Day, so it took time to order and for food to arrive at the table. With that being said, the staff was resilient and maintained a friendly demeanor. First things first, let me thank the waitress who was the real MVP of my dining experience. A friend at my table, asked if the grits were good? She stated she has not seen the grits this morning. Authenticity is hard to find these days. I appreciated the organic response. My understanding is that this is a new 2T location. I'm sure that the community welcomes a new dining spot since Silver Diner's demise. Today was fairly crowded, with a line stretching out the door into a blazing hot morning. Fortunately, staff was efficient about getting folks seated quickly - we had a really short wait. In fact, staff was on point all the way around: friendly, attentive and quick. I ordered an omelette with broccoli, spinach, tomatoes and Swiss + hash browns. Went here for a meal today and it was comically bad. Ordered a breakfast sandwich and some wings to go; specifically asked for the fried wings to be tossed in hot sauce but they ignored that and I had dry, sauceless wings. Wings that were raw/cold on the inside near the bone. *facepalm* I didn't say anything, because unfortunately I'm habitually too nice. The breakfast sandwich was a joke, and inedible, utterly disgusting. How do you mess up a breakfast sandwich? It's the simplest thing to make. I asked for a sausage, fried egg & cheese sandwich on a Kaiser roll. Something even the most basic gas station does well, with their eyes closed. First they brought out the wrong type of egg - a rubbery omelet patty. I politely asked for it to be fried, but when they brought out that monstrosity I wished I hadn't said anything. It was a gloopy, disgusting mess and had a horrible stale odor like they never wiped down the flat top grill. I couldn't stomach more than two bites. The home fries were similarly inedible and consisted of mealy, unseasoned mush. At this point I just wanted to leave. I paid and left. This place is fantastic for standard diner fare in a casual atmosphere! Came here with a large party (9) on a Sunday morning. We were nervous that there could be a wait, but they were able to seat us immediately. Our waiter was super personable and accommodating, and managed to juggle our large party seamlessly. Even though the restaurant got more crowded as the morning progressed, our orders came out quickly. I got one of the egg beater omelettes with grilled chicken and an add in. It was worth the upcharge for the delicious chunks of white meat chicken! I got cottage cheese on the side, but my friends who got the standard breakfast potatoes must've had an entire potato each on their plates. Bacon and hashbrowns were crispy but not greasy. Sausage was good too. Eggs were cooked perfectly. And the French toast was excellent, eggy with hints of nutmeg and cinnamon. I usually enjoy diners but I wouldn't come back here. I'm only giving it two stars because the Philly cheesesteak and patty melt were tasty. We got there around 8oclock and I'm guessing the staff were ready to close for the night. Our waiter didn't really check on us and we had to keep asking for the same things: water , napkins, sauce. Our food also took a while to come out which we didn't understand why because it wasn't busy in there , maybe 12-15 people total and a sufficient amount of staff. I ordered an amaretto sour which tasted like straight sour mix. The piña colada was okay. Do NOT order the Buffalo "wings" they are tiny little frozen wings and are not worth $11. I had to send them back to be reheated because they were cold. Not to mention our appetizer and entrees came at the same time. Both the Philly cheesesteak and patty melt were hot but our appetizers were cold. I felt somewhat rushed because the employees were cleaning up and you could feel they wanted to be out of the door as soon as the last customer left. We decided to ask for boxes and take our food home. Between the long wait for the food and lack of customer service I don't think I'll be returning. Not to mention it is also over priced. Excellent Service! The staff are friendly and very accommodating. We're from Pennsylvania, but every time we're in Laurel, MD we make a special effort to get to this restaurant and their delicious food. We had liver and onions, fried jumbo shrimp, chicken cordon blue in marsala sauce, Seafood A La Bay, pan seared pork chops, jambalaya, the open faced meatloaf and various breakfast items all DELICIOUS! This morning, we decided to eat here because Abby here before however, I think this is the last time that we will be here the eggs we asked for scrambled hard with cheddar cheese. It was extremely soft. I don't like soft eggs at all, and they were nasty. They were unseasoned speaking of unseasoned the bacon taste like they had washed all the flavor out because there was no flavor in the bacon at all, the only thing good about the meal this morning was the Belgian waffles it was hot. They had powdered sugar they bought me my sugar-free syrup. The hashbrowns were horrible. Well prize were horrible. There was no seasoning. There was no seasoning on anything we had to seasoning everything and it still didn't make it. Taste any better The sweet tea was really watered down. It taste more water than anything else. Probably my favorite Double T that I've been to. Maybe because it's new? Very clean, updated, modern feel. This Double T has replaced the Silver Diner which was in the same location. Quite a few of the servers stayed on to work at Double T. Service is friendly, they'll remember your face and order if you come often, which I do. Food and drink orders are taken quickly, food is brought out in a timely manner. I'm not much of a breakfast person but I do like their breakfast bowls, a couple to choose from. I really like Huevos Bowl, home fries, black beans, jack cheese, 2 eggs, tortilla strips, onion, salsa and a side of toast. Large serving for $11. Also their chocolate chip pancakes...YUM! The salads are a go-to. All are served with a soup which changes daily. Chicken noodle, cream of broccoli are good. There's a dollar up charge for Maryland Crab. Overall good lunch spot. read more

The absolute worst food I've had in a long time. Shame on you all for serving us frozen crap. A Swanson's frozen meal, nuked in the microwave, would have been tastier and cheaper. I honestly didn't know if the crab morsels were fresh and the broth had an unusual saltiness to it, that made me wonder how old this soup was. The caesar salad, chopped romaine, a sprinkle of parm cheese and the worst dressing I've ever tasted - stale, salty and odd. Meatloaf arrived and it looked and tasted like frozen, fake, cheap meat of some sort. The mash of potatoes seemed like the real deal, served alongside frozen, heated corn. Don't even get me started on their lemon meringue pie. I begged my husband not to get dessert, but he said he had to cleanse his palate. Did he? NO! This is the second time I've been to this location and the second time it was a great visit. I have an adult son who is blind and uses a walker and during both of our visits for our mother son date day, the staff has been accommodating. We've gotten seats as close to the front door as possible and our server, who was the same both times, takes great care of us. During this past visit, we both got Elvis waffles but with modifications. I got mine without ice cream, and my son got his with strawberries instead of bananas. They even gave him a scoop of strawberry ice cream with his scoops of vanilla ice cream (it came with all vanilla ice cream originally). The waffles were light and fluffy and we were impressed that the bacon part was real bacon. The sides of sausage are massive. I expected standard sized sausage links but these were sausage links on steroids lol. Needless to say this is our breakfast spot and I say that proudly. read more

Our eggs were scrambled soft just how my Wife and I like them. The pancakes with butter and syrup have the perfect flavor and they are big. The bacon could be thicker but it is crispy. We always add onions to the homefries and ask them to cook them with a crisp on the outside all in all service is good, food is good and this reminds me of diners from back home in NY. Best diner in our area hands down and they stay packed but move quickly so you can get your food, eat and get to the rest of your day. It's been while since laurel has had a nice diner. The New Double T, I believe to be located in the former Silver Diner location, is a welcomed site. I took my son in on a Saturday around 10a. To my surprise, we were seated within 5 minutes. Service was a little slow but given the fact is was pretty packed, it was acceptable. The servers were hustling to bring everyone coffee and hot food. Went there today for first time (obviously). Waitress (Barbara) was very pleasant and professional. Started off with kids order first. If you look at the kids Menu picture that's posted, you will notice that it says Pancakes "with" ham, bacon, sausage. Of course I assumed it came with all three. Waitress said it's only one choice of meat, I told her the menu is very misleading because nowhere does it say that, it also doesn't have the word "or" in the choice of meats. I had to pay for a second choice of meat on a menu that is misleading. Anyways, that was strike one. Then ordered a cheeseburger. Waitress went to put the order in and then came back saying "sorry, there aren't any cheeseburgers at the moment." Strike two and I'm done before strike three. Never been at a diner where burgers was not an option. Paid for our drinks and walked out. I was a bit dubious when I saw that the defunct Silver Diner was being replaced by another of the same genre. Wrong! Maybe SD's new age style just didn't fit Laurel's small town vibe, as Double T was almost full on their second day in business. The menu is all breakfast on one side, lunch and dinner on the other. Some of the diner standards such as meatloaf and liver are missing, presence of gyro and feta suggests Greek owners. Lots of variety, sandwiches, steak, seafood, salads. I went with the mushroom burger, medium. The fact that I could specify doneness proves they grind on site, since preground is legally required to be well done (hockey puck) for bacterial safety. Mine was nice and juicy, served on a brioche bun and piled high with mushrooms. Definitely a two hands job, I gave up and used the knife and fork. At $9.50 including soup or salad and potatoes or vegetables it's a good deal even though the flavor is not quite up to the premium cuts used at Mad Cow. The chicken soup was obviously home made and loaded with sliced meat, the iced tea tasted fresh brewed, and the service was cordial and reasonably quick given that I could see that they were working out the grand opening kinks. I would have high expectations for the sandwichs given the deli grade dill pickle that came with the burger, as I have found that places that sweat the mundane details do the same on the bigger stuff. The dessert case looked very good, but I'm not doing that until I can fit into my Speedo. Free WiFi, plenty of free parking. Cozy, almost retro space. I think this place is going to make it. First time at this new location and its refurbished nicely. Having been to several of their other locations, first thing I noticed was the 1 page menu. Making a choice is now easier, but probably only about 1/2 of the menu is available (probably for the better). Order the St Louis Chicken sub with chicken noodle soup and fries. Everything came out hot and was tasty. Cub was a little dry, so honey mustard cured that. Wife had banana pancakes and tasted like other locations, so the consistency seems to be there. read more
