A good city can have a couple of celebrity chef joints, becuase there is a place for $30 burgers. That is not always the place you want to be as a customer though. I'm of a mind to leave those places and prices to the tourists. Of course if I am travelling I schlep over and plop down that cash, and complain about it. What every city needs is a Diner. The more classic, basic, and a bit grungy it is the better. That is not to say that Double T in Laurel is anything but classic. They are fixing a glass door right now (Oct 2022) so one wonders what went on there...but that's not revelant. I had a Gyro Deluxe (soup, salad, fries, packed beef gyro meat in a pita sandwich). I am delightfully stuffed. I felt like I was making one fo those Youtube videos and cherished every bite. All of the right notes were hit by each item. The soup was a little weak, but siracha punches everything into a better place. My wife got a Turkey Club Pannini (soup, fries, slaw). It looked great, actual sliced turkey, good solid bread. She brought half home for lunch tommorrow. The slaw was good if basic. Now the feature that at least tonight, here in Laurel that gives this spot an additional star was Rolando. He was the only server (that we saw). He was literally trotting from place to place. He had at least 7 tables going at one point. Nothing but smiles, hustle and efficiency. Never a snide under the breath comment about lack of support/workers in the economy as a result of national economic policy (or any other stupid thing that doesn't need to be said to customers). He didn't make any excuses, and didn't need to. He did his job, excellently, quickly, proudly. Bravo Zulu Rolando! Vaya con dios mi hermano. read more

We came here for breakfast with family friends who raved about the place. The diner did not disappoint. The have a massive breakfast menu of many food items to choose from. It can be a little overwhelming for those who are indecisive. As we had a very indecisive person in our party of 5. We are seated quickly and at a large table so we could spread out and I appreciate that. All of our food came out hot and freshly made. Which is a plus particularly when you have a large party. Our server was so attentive and absolutely a pleasure to converse with. She kept our coffee cups filled at all times which this coffee lover appreciates. We 2 of us had french toast combos( french toast with eggs, has brown, bacon and sausage), 1 person had an omelette and the last 2 had egg white omelettes. Wish we had more diners like this around. read more

I Went here and ordered blueberry pancakes for dinner, the pancakes were so delicious with big bursting berries and the service was really nice and knowledgeable. The menu is mind blowing if you want a specific item chances are they have it. We Will absolutely be back. read more

I was invited out to dinner by some friends. This was my first visit to the diner. The staff was friendly and the service was solid. As with most diners, the menu was extensive. There was even a list of daily specials. While talking with my friends, I learned that the owners were minority. I was happy to hear that. It made me appreciate being there. I ordered one of the daily specials. What I liked the most was the portion size. I ordered salmon with some sort of rice dish. It was plentiful indeed. The flavor was lacking though. I love my food to be full of seasoning. I didn't get that from this dish but I get it. You can't put a bunch of Cajun spices on the food when everyone can't handle it. I ended up taking a big portion of my food home since it was so much. Would I visit again? Sure. The menu has lots of options and I hear the best part about Double T Diner is the breakfast. read more

Great service! Nothing fancy, but my food has always been prepared well, and the service was spot on.

The staff at this Double T Diner is always eager to keep you full & satisfied! The portions are plentiful and always enough for a second meal, another day. I love the decor, it gives you the old time diner feel. So many choices to chose from, there's something for everyone. read more

It's very expensive. And it's not worth having Breakfast there. For the price you pay, you might as well just buy the stuff at the supermarket and make your own breakfast. read more

One of the worst places I've ever eaten. Tried to order the special bbq ribs, told after 20 minutes of waiting they were out. All the food was extremely bland, could tell the deep frier wasn't ever cleaned since the fries tasted like fried chicken. Everything frozen and nuked to disgusting overcooked level. Server was soooo quiet we couldn't ever hear anything he said. Daughter ordered a children's meal, which she got but then was charged the adult price. I pointed this out and was told she looked older than 9 so she needed to pay adult price even though she ate a kids meal. The whole experience was horrible, and the food was remarkably bad (except the chicken noodle soup which was actually decent). read more

if you are tired of the overpriced, limited menus offered to you after standing in line at the "rest stops" between Philadelphia and Washington, let me highly suggest the Double T diner. within five minutes of I 95 it is conveniently located, and has ample parking. I don't know about you, but I prefer eating real food off of dishes with real silverware. Coffee in a real cup, not a paper cup. As you might expect it has an extensive diner menu. The portions are generous, and we have never had to wait for a table. The staffing is friendly and the food is good and reasonably priced. Mark it down. Skip the turnpike fast food. Eat a real meal off of real plates. You will not be sorry. read more

My understanding is that this is a new 2T location. I'm sure that the community welcomes a new dining spot since Silver Diner's demise. Today was fairly crowded, with a line stretching out the door into a blazing hot morning. Fortunately, staff was efficient about getting folks seated quickly - we had a really short wait. In fact, staff was on point all the way around: friendly, attentive and quick. I ordered an omelette with broccoli, spinach, tomatoes and Swiss + hash browns. My dining friend ordered pork chops and scrambled eggs with cheddar. Oh yeah, we shared a side of light, airy pancakes. Everything was delicious. read more

The Double T Diner is everything you would expect from a diner experience: good food, no thrills no frills. Unfortunately there were only two waiters on Veterans Day, so it took time to order and for food to arrive at the table. With that being said, the staff was resilient and maintained a friendly demeanor. First things first, let me thank the waitress who was the real MVP of my dining experience. A friend at my table, asked if the grits were good? She stated she has not seen the grits this morning. Authenticity is hard to find these days. I appreciated the organic response. I ordered the pumpkin pancakes, scrambled eggs, and potatoes. The pumpkin pancakes were buttery and the pumpkin flavor was savory. The potato's and scrambled eggs were tasty. Never had an issue. Good greasy spoon. Decent prices. Huge menu selection. Breakfast, lunch and dinner served all day. Can't beat that.

Treat yourself to a classic diner with delicious homemade food! Places like this are becoming rare. A nice variety of foods on the menu, I enjoyed the roasted chicken. The Maryland crab soup was tasty and hot. The experience was made perfect by a friendly staff. I found the place to be clean and bright as well. Double T Diner - Roasted 1/2 Chicken Dinner - Diners Near Me - Laurel, Maryland

Went here for a meal today and it was comically bad. Ordered a breakfast sandwich and some wings to go; specifically asked for the fried wings to be tossed in hot sauce but they ignored that and I had dry, sauceless wings. Wings that were raw/cold on the inside near the bone. *facepalm* I didn't say anything, because unfortunately I'm habitually too nice. The breakfast sandwich was a joke, and inedible, utterly disgusting. How do you mess up a breakfast sandwich? It's the simplest thing to make. I asked for a sausage, fried egg & cheese sandwich on a Kaiser roll. Something even the most basic gas station does well, with their eyes closed. First they brought out the wrong type of egg - a rubbery omelet patty. I politely asked for it to be fried, but when they brought out that monstrosity I wished I hadn't said anything. It was a gloopy, disgusting mess and had a horrible stale odor like they never wiped down the flat top grill. I couldn't stomach more than two bites. The home fries were similarly inedible and consisted of mealy, unseasoned mush. At this point I just wanted to leave. I paid and left. One star only for the waitress, who was nice and friendly. read more

On 05/25/2025 around 6:50pm, I went and the waiter (woman) wasn't attentive (not the manager that's been working there for years) and had an attitude because SHE couldnt understand/accomodate my request. She IGNORED me the entire duration of this visit. MY food was cold as she left it sitting after it was done before she brought it to my table. This isn't the normal practice there, from my experience, over the years. Even after I got the food I continued to wait..No follow-ups,no "how's it going ",no nothing. I wanted to order more but after waiting for so long to grab her attention.. I was like let me get the check and go. Also my drink wasn't full (noticeably only 3/4 quarters full) maybe a mistake. . idk...At the time, it was mostly older white Americans there. It seemed like she was simply trying to please them and ignored me as a black woman. I usually sit at the bar and the male manager is the best but this woman was simply rude and made it seem like my presence was an inconvenience. read more

My wife and I decided to go to Double T Diner in Laurel Wednesday evening. GREAT SERVICE! They were short staffed but working really hard to accommodate! They only had one Waiter and the Manager was doing everything! Seating people, bussing tables, cashiering and doing it with a smile...as much as he could. Double T Diner - Our Dessert at the End of a great meal - Diners Near Me - Laurel, Maryland

This place is fantastic for standard diner fare in a casual atmosphere! Came here with a large party (9) on a Sunday morning. We were nervous that there could be a wait, but they were able to seat us immediately. Our waiter was super personable and accommodating, and managed to juggle our large party seamlessly. Even though the restaurant got more crowded as the morning progressed, our orders came out quickly. I got one of the egg beater omelettes with grilled chicken and an add in. It was worth the upcharge for the delicious chunks of white meat chicken! I got cottage cheese on the side, but my friends who got the standard breakfast potatoes must've had an entire potato each on their plates. We also shared a plate of french toast, which was tasty but nothing special in my opinion. I can't speak to the lunch/dinner options, but this place is a win for breakfast! read more

Very disappointing and I was hungry. I ordered my fav breakfast cheat item, french toast, bacon, egg whites and home fries. I could only eat the bacon and home fries. I love a good diner and this place was a happy surprise. Huge menu. Upbeat decor. Friendly and attentive service. Large portions. I had the breakfast special that was available all day. It was great. Bacon and hashbrowns were crispy but not greasy. Sausage was good too. Eggs were cooked perfectly. And the French toast was excellent, eggy with hints of nutmeg and cinnamon. The person I was with orders the burger and onion rings with chicken noodle soup. The burger was huge and looked tasty. Onion rings were battered and yummy. I'm just holding one star back to make sure everything is consistent next time. read more

Probably my favorite Double T that I've been to. Maybe because it's new? Very clean, updated, modern feel. This Double T has replaced the Silver Diner which was in the same location. Quite a few of the servers stayed on to work at Double T. Service is friendly, they'll remember your face and order if you come often, which I do. Food and drink orders are taken quickly, food is brought out in a timely manner. I'm not much of a breakfast person but I do like their breakfast bowls, a couple to choose from. I really like Huevos Bowl, home fries, black beans, jack cheese, 2 eggs, tortilla strips, onion, salsa and a side of toast. Large serving for $11. Also their chocolate chip pancakes...YUM! The salads are a go-to. All are served with a soup which changes daily. Chicken noodle, cream of broccoli are good. There's a dollar up charge for Maryland Crab. Overall good lunch spot. read more

Really enjoyed the mile high meatloaf with mashed potatoes gravy, and onion straws... it was even on top of a slice of bread! That said, I'd steer away from the corn in future. I love diner food. We ordered pick up on a Sunday morning. The Gentleman on the phone was polite and read the order back to us (as it was a large order). Food was made quickly. I ordered the western omelette, roasted potatoes and bread. Everything was flavorful and the portion was shareable. My only negative is the containers the food came in were flimsy but not a big deal. Again I love diner food and would recommend this place. read more

I usually enjoy diners but I wouldn't come back here. I'm only giving it two stars because the Philly cheesesteak and patty melt were tasty. We got there around 8oclock and I'm guessing the staff were ready to close for the night. Our waiter didn't really check on us and we had to keep asking for the same things: water , napkins, sauce. Our food also took a while to come out which we didn't understand why because it wasn't busy in there , maybe 12-15 people total and a sufficient amount of staff. I ordered an amaretto sour which tasted like straight sour mix. The piña colada was okay. Do NOT order the Buffalo "wings" they are tiny little frozen wings and are not worth $11. I had to send them back to be reheated because they were cold. Not to mention our appetizer and entrees came at the same time. Both the Philly cheesesteak and patty melt were hot but our appetizers were cold. I felt somewhat rushed because the employees were cleaning up and you could feel they wanted to be out of the door as soon as the last customer left. We decided to ask for boxes and take our food home. Between the long wait for the food and lack of customer service I don't think I'll be returning. Not to mention it is also over priced. We paid about $74 and the food was not worth it. I don't mind paying money for food but $74 for diner food for two people is really crazy read more

Good food, quick service and not a long wait even when waiting. Not dark or loud inside.

We enjoyed our breakfast here each time. They are consistently good. The Double TT special is the bomb. The fat sausage links are perfectly cooked. Our eggs were scrambled soft just how my Wife and I like them. The pancakes with butter and syrup have the perfect flavor and they are big. The bacon could be thicker but it is crispy. We always add onions to the homefries and ask them to cook them with a crisp on the outside all in all service is good, food is good and this reminds me of diners from back home in NY. Best diner in our area hands down and they stay packed but move quickly so you can get your food, eat and get to the rest of your day. Go hear when you want a good hearty breakfast cooked well with good flavor and with God speed. read more

This morning, we decided to eat here because Abby here before however, I think this is the last time that we will be here the eggs we asked for scrambled hard with cheddar cheese. It was extremely soft. I don't like soft eggs at all, and they were nasty. They were unseasoned speaking of unseasoned the bacon taste like they had washed all the flavor out because there was no flavor in the bacon at all, the only thing good about the meal this morning was the Belgian waffles it was hot. They had powdered sugar they bought me my sugar-free syrup. The hashbrowns were horrible. Well prize were horrible. There was no seasoning. There was no seasoning on anything we had to seasoning everything and it still didn't make it. Taste any better The sweet tea was really watered down. It taste more water than anything else. So as far as places to eat breakfast, this is not it. I would not recommend this place to anyone. The food just isn't good. read more

It's been while since laurel has had a nice diner. The New Double T, I believe to be located in the former Silver Diner location, is a welcomed site. I took my son in on a Saturday around 10a. To my surprise, we were seated within 5 minutes. Service was a little slow but given the fact is was pretty packed, it was acceptable. The servers were hustling to bring everyone coffee and hot food. The diner is nice and clean. We had a good meal and great service. As most diners, they have a pretty expansive menu so I am sure there is something you can find to eat. Bon Apetit. read more

Sorry, 2 stars and I won't blame them too much since they just recently opened up. Maybe within a few months or even a year, I may come back when they become seasoned vets. Went there today for first time (obviously). Waitress (Barbara) was very pleasant and professional. Started off with kids order first. If you look at the kids Menu picture that's posted, you will notice that it says Pancakes "with" ham, bacon, sausage. Of course I assumed it came with all three. Waitress said it's only one choice of meat, I told her the menu is very misleading because nowhere does it say that, it also doesn't have the word "or" in the choice of meats. I had to pay for a second choice of meat on a menu that is misleading. Anyways, that was strike one. Then ordered a cheeseburger. Waitress went to put the order in and then came back saying "sorry, there aren't any cheeseburgers at the moment." Strike two and I'm done before strike three. Never been at a diner where burgers was not an option. Paid for our drinks and walked out. Again, wasn't the waitress fault and I'm not going to fault the restaurant too much but at the moment, two stars till they get their stuff together. read more

I was a bit dubious when I saw that the defunct Silver Diner was being replaced by another of the same genre. Wrong! Maybe SD's new age style just didn't fit Laurel's small town vibe, as Double T was almost full on their second day in business. The menu is all breakfast on one side, lunch and dinner on the other. Some of the diner standards such as meatloaf and liver are missing, presence of gyro and feta suggests Greek owners. Lots of variety, sandwiches, steak, seafood, salads. I went with the mushroom burger, medium. The fact that I could specify doneness proves they grind on site, since preground is legally required to be well done (hockey puck) for bacterial safety. Mine was nice and juicy, served on a brioche bun and piled high with mushrooms. Definitely a two hands job, I gave up and used the knife and fork. At $9.50 including soup or salad and potatoes or vegetables it's a good deal even though the flavor is not quite up to the premium cuts used at Mad Cow. The chicken soup was obviously home made and loaded with sliced meat, the iced tea tasted fresh brewed, and the service was cordial and reasonably quick given that I could see that they were working out the grand opening kinks. I would have high expectations for the sandwichs given the deli grade dill pickle that came with the burger, as I have found that places that sweat the mundane details do the same on the bigger stuff. The dessert case looked very good, but I'm not doing that until I can fit into my Speedo. Free WiFi, plenty of free parking. Cozy, almost retro space. I think this place is going to make it. I'm a fan. read more
