I've been here several times with friends, and every experience has been great! Not only is the…read morecustomer service fantastic (very attentive, willing to check in on you, knowledgeable staff, etc), they have a nice variety of liquor and wines that are easy to find in the shop based on region. Additionally, they sell limes and lemons at the register which if you've ever had a few friends over for drinks, you tend to prioritize the alcohol and forget the limes/lemons. It's always a duh moment for me but because they have them right at the register, it's easy to remember. What I think I like most about The Wine Source is how honest staff are about their thoughts on different wines. If they don't like it, they'll tell you and have enough knowledge to even recommend something based on your tastes. Lot parking can be a little scarce sometimes but that's really out of their control and usually street parking is easy to find in the area. In short, would highly recommend! My friend (who's the wine guy for sure) loves it here and says it's one of the best wine spots in Baltimore to him. P.S. They also sell some food in the shop which I haven't tried yet but I'm sure it's good!

I love their charcuterie selection, they have a massive wine selection, but also a large N/A selection too! I'm super grateful for their diverse selection

Closest thing to a New Orleans po'boy in Baltimore…read more The Catfish Po'Boy here is no joke. Kimchi-brined fried catfish, remoulade, capers, lettuce, tomato and red onion on a sub roll -- it immediately reminded me of Mandina's on Canal Street in NOLA. That's about as high a compliment as I can give a po'boy outside of Louisiana. My partner had the Heirloom BLT and loved every bite. Fresh heirloom tomatoes, arugula, sprouts, herbed avocado mayo on wheat -- simple and done right. Chuck's has that perfect Hampden energy: unpretentious, a little quirky, genuinely good food. The counter seating where you watch everything made to order is a nice touch. Grab something from the bodega side on your way out. Show up Tuesday for the po'boy lunch special. You won't regret it.

Recently gave Chuck's Trading Post another try but this time for carryout. The kitchen was…read moreextremely backed up on orders (it was the day after Halloween so I guess everyone had the same idea for greasy hangover food), and my food wasn't ready for about an hour. I don't think this is the norm here but definitely not ideal. I ordered the "better with cheddar" on sourdough with bacon. I also got a side of potato hash and cheesy grits with a hazelnut latte. They allowed me to enjoy my coffee while I waited another extra 20 min for my food. Everything was delicious and really hit the spot. For under $30, it's a great deal too. I would give them another try for takeout sometime soon!
