It may seem like a bar first and a BBQ spot second because of the limited seating but let me tell you, the food here is not to be underestimated! Not only is the 2 meat combo a whopping serving (including 2 sides, fantastic cornbread, and pickles) but it's a great deal... and that brisket!! Nice selection of sauces at the table too. I had the Happy Hour house old fashioned as well and loved it. One thing to note is that you order up at the counter, as opposed to ordering with a server. But once that's done, the food comes out pretty quickly. You can also leave your tab open as you add on additional drinks while you dine. Everybody in our group enjoyed their orders. I'd definitely return just for the combo plate (and try different sides next time).

Stopped in for dinner Friday night with my daughter. [[HIGHLIGHT]]For as popular as I read they are and for supposedly having some of the best BBQ in the area they were completely dead[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Walked in and your in the bar area with about only 3 tables. Never being here before and not from the area we didn't know there was seating upstairs. You'd think since I had a kid with me we would have been told this. We split a two meat plate of ribs and brisket, with extra Mac & cheese. The meat comes with no sauce and they have sauce at the tables for you to add which is the best way to go. The ribs were fall off the bone and very good. The brisket on the other hand was a little on the dryer side and I needed a lot of the sauce to eat it. Speaking of the sauce the smoke sauce was delicious. The Mac & cheese is way over peppered, very cheesy and tasted good but too much pepper. The meal also came with pickles which were ok and the driest cornbread I've ever eaten. Definitely needed butter to spread on it. All and all it was just ok for us. We traveled from PA to try this place and it's just not for us.

Would definitely go again! I have ordered delivery before but in-person was better. Started out with HH (until 7p) on a Friday night and enjoyed some spiced mules at the bar. There are some HH food options too. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was date night for me, so we ordered some plates and settled in upstairs which was quieter, chill, rustic and had cool pics of dogs.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food is delivered to your table. Food was yummy!!! I loved the dry rub ribs and brisket. All the sides were great too, corn bread and pickles were complimentary too. Check em out!!!

Visited this place for a party on Friday night. They had a buffet with many selections of food to choose from but my favorite was the brisket. It was so tender and flavorful. The drinks were good and pretty strong as well. The service was friendly.

Great little spot in Hampden a few blocks from the Avenue and on the way to the light rail if you're planning on going to a game downtown. I'm a pescatarian so I haven't tried their BBQ meats (the friends I've brought have raved about their brisket) but they do have a vegan jackfruit sandwich that's solid and I love their Mac and cheese. I normally go to sit at the bar and enjoy their cocktails and whiskey selection which is one of the best near me. They have a great selection of some of those hard to acquire bourbons and quite a few exclusive barrel picks. The last time I was in, my buddy and I finally tried their Buffalo Trace and Rittenhouse picks on their own (as opposed to my standard Manhattan) and I ended up taking a bottle of their Rittenhouse home.

Was looking for a place near me to host some buds for a bachelor party when I came across Blue Pit in Hampden. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was a great spot with plenty of space for us in their upstairs area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Awesome BBQ and whiskey selection. The staff was incredibly accommodating. If you are looking for a party space near you its definitely a place to check out.

We had a party here for approximately 30 people and the experience was positive and enjoyable. The owner was very prompt with her replies to my inquiries and very easy to work with. We were able to enjoy the second floor as the event was on a Thursday afternoon and each one of us would just buy our food individually without any sort of cover charge or extra charge for the use of space. It made for a very stress free and chill time. Food wise, I was able to try only 2 items, the Big Dawg and the brisket and I can say I thought they were good! Photos of the place are included in this review as it was the main reason we chose the place. Parking can be very tricky but it's to be expected as it is near the city. The staff who helped us were all so friendly and helpful! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Check out their newly renovated patio area, too[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

This review is strictly for the bar and drinks..... Parking is madness so be sure to allow time to find street parking. Walk or Uber here. Ample seating in the bar area. I ordered two drinks . Those slushy drinks are strong if you like a bang for your buck it was absolutely delicious. Prices are good. Bartenders were attentive and very friendly.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Low quality picture for a high quality restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Got this for the first time because the restaurant was supporting the recent Keswick fires in Hampden in Baltimore. Being able to support this restaurant in their support efforts makes the food even more incredible and definitely a place worth checking out in the future!

I'm a girl who loves her BBQ and Blue Pit always comes through when I'm looking for somewhere great yet chill to eat! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The staff and environment is always so welcoming, helpful and attentive.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I recently discovered their happy hour and I highly recommend it. They have specials on their sliders, beers and some signature cocktails. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Now that the weather is warming up I also enjoy sitting out on their back patio which offers communal style dining.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I love this style dining because it allows you to hopefully meet someone new. [[HIGHLIGHT]]If communal style isn't for you they have great spaces indoors as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Blue Pitt is child and pet friendly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I love how much they give back to the community with their support of BARCS. I love sharing a platter and some sides. My personal favs are the brisket, chicken, pulled anything lol , beans, and potato salad! I love getting their signature blood orange mule as well! I highly recommend if you are looking for a great weekend lunch spot, place to meet friends or just because!

It's been a while since I've visited Blue Pit but I had a gift card and an empty fridge so the stars aligned for another visit. Since I now eat gluten free, my normal option of the pulled chicken sandwich wasn't going to cut it - they don't have GF rolls. I did appreciate that GF options were clearly marked on the menu though. I got the one meat platter with chicken thighs, potato salad, and Chesapeake pickleback slaw and extra pickles instead of cornbread. It came out to $20, pretty pricey for one person if you ask me. I placed the order by phone and the staff member was really friendly and double checked that all the sauces were gluten free (thank youuuu). The bag was HEAVY when I picked it up, a good sign. Turns out $20 was a reasonable price for the heaping serving size I received. Four large pieces of chicken and fair portions of the sides. The chicken was good but not as flavorful as the pulled chicken I'm used to getting on the sandwiches. I had plenty of sauce to make up for whatever was lacking in flavor though. I also had plenty of leftovers! Now I want to come back for an Old Fashioned. Cheers!

This is Puerto Rican pitorro, also known as ron cañita, made with care and intention rather than gimmickry. Many local liquor stores now carry the brand, and it is well worth picking up a bottle, but visiting the distillery is an experience in itself. The founder is a fellow Puerto Rican born retired military member, a background I share, and like me, he has put down roots in Maryland. That story is reflected clearly in the brand's own framing, "Puerto Rican born, Maryland made." The space feels grounded and unpretentious, and that sensibility carries through to the hospitality. We arrived late on a Saturday and were still welcomed warmly, never rushed. We were taken care of by the founder's daughter, who was exceptionally kind, attentive, and knowledgeable. She guided us through a flight that included the traditional pitorro, almond, pineapple, coffee, coconut chai, and several seasonal offerings. The flavors were thoughtful and well balanced; even the infused expressions retained a clear rum backbone rather than drifting into novelty. We enjoyed them enough to leave with several bottles. This is artisanal pitorro done right, rooted in Puerto Rican tradition and confidently made in Maryland. Buying it locally is convenient, but going to the distillery is where the people, the story, and the spirit fully come together.

It's not unusual to just see a plastic banner advertising NASCAR and Budweiser beer prices hanging above the door to let you know there's a bar inside. This bar also had a sketchy reputation when it originally opened because it looked more like a bar that was built inside someone's garage. It was dirty, had a dingy drop tile ceiling, and was lit only by harsh neon lighting inside. But Clipper Mill has since been remodeled and actually has a cozy little neighborhood bar feel inside now with painted drop tin ceilings, normal lighting, along with the requisite dive bar elements of a pool table, jukebox, keno machine, video poker machine, a few flat screens to watch the game, and a carry out fridges on the wall. They've also got 6 draft beers on tap, cold Natty Boh in a can, and strongly poured cheap drinks. Back when Clipper Mill was still a garage bar, Charm City's own John Water's was spotted here on more than one occasion for their Karaoke Saturday nights. Not sure if he's still stopping by since Clipper Mill got its interior face lift. But the regular crowd here are pretty much ALL regulars, and they seem friendly enough. So don't let the "Bloody Bucket" nickname make you shy away. Stop in, have a cold beer or two, and enjoy another stop on your tour of Balmer dive bars.

Seriously, I think some of the stuff on the walls in there is 40 years old. My friends suggested that we dine here for restaurant week which was a sweet idea. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by the friendly hostess who took us to our seats. Then our waiter explained the menu and gave us some time to decided what menu we wanted to order from (Restaurant week brunch menu or regular menu). We chose the brunch menu. For the brunch menu we were able to choose a appetizer, entree, and a dessert for $35.00. Not too bad. For drinks I ordered PIRATE PRINCESS which was Ron del Barrilito 2 Star Puerto Rican rum, passionfruit, miso honey, lime, and togarash. It was a perfect balance of sweetness and a little bitterness. For food we ordered the shrimp and corn patties, and the pan roasted salmon. The shrimp and corn patties were delicious. It was packed with multiple flavors and it was seasoned really well. The pan roasted salmon was cooked to perfection. It was flaky, and seasoned very well. It came with Ramen noodles that I thought were going to be temperature hot however, they came room temperature which was fine. They were seasoned very well. The ambiance was very nice. It gave like 1950's/ 1970's vibe. Old marble tables, antique pictures on the walls. It seemed like the building use to be a house prior to it becoming a restaurant. It was a great time. If you are in the Hampden area I recommend giving this restaurant a try. I am looking forward to visiting again for dinner. Cheers!!

The valet, the host, the servers and the managers all make you feel like you're the most important guest in the building, regardless of how many other guests and parties are there. I was impressed with the service and felt so cared for and the server answered all of our questions and explained everything in great detail so I knew exactly what I was getting. And the atmosphere is one in a million, I felt like I was at a neighborhood hangout but also eating in a royal dining room. I love the attention to detail. So now to the food + drinks. I am not a drinker so I asked for mocktail recommendations and ended up with the POG it was served in a SPAM can and was so delicious it was passion fruit, orange and guava drink and was not just delicious but also beautiful! Now to the appetizer we ordered Spam Musubi and it felt like an explosion in my mouth, it was so delicious and like nothing I've ever tasted. For dinner, I had a delicious dish Gochujang Tteokbokki again melt in my mouth deliciousness and not something I would have ever thought to order. We ended the meal with dessert we ordered one of everything and shared and there wasn't a crumb left. If I could give them 10++ stars I would and this will definitely be a return place for us! I am so glad that I was able to try foods I wouldn't normally eat, but also experience upscale service in a neighborhood vibey space! Keep up the good work, Duchess!
