Server Melinda didn't tend to us at all, we had to wait 40 minutes for food and our server didn't even bring it to us, she went to every other table but us for the 40 minutes we were waiting. Didn't even come get our drink orders for 15 minutes and gave attitude. read more

I am a big fan of First Watch. The food is always great and the price is as well. However, this specific location is my absolute FAVORITE! The entire wait staff is wonderful! They're so happy and cheerful! They are polite, speedy and just super friendly. The management has done well in employing complete rockstars. My favorite breakfast item is the Chikechangan. It is delicious! Their potatoes are fantastic and always cooked perfectly. The orange juice is fresh squeezed and yummy! Thank you for great service! read more

Used to go here a lot. Quality has gone downhill but the reason for the one star is for their lack of customer service. Especially the hostess answering the phone....With the reduced capacity and revenue from the virus, you would think they want as much business as possible. This location in particular has been very rude and condescending while trying to make a reservation or to go order. They are bothered by taking a phone order and they actually refused to do so three diff times. I called the other location on 83rd who said they d happily take a phone Togo order or a call ahead reservation. So it's not company policy just the happy valley location. Avoid the happy valley location they don't deserve your business!!!!!! read more

Almost $5 for 6oz of Kaletonic. I like that juice but wow if I wanted to pay for ice I could just get it at the store. This is a ridiculous mark up. What I was told if I got my order with no ice you will just get half the size of an already small cup. My amazing surprise to delivery order was that I had 4 sips and my drink was gone. Very disappointed. read more

I know that first watch is a chain but it's a very good one. Service was great at this particular location and I'm glad we have an option other than fast food on the north side of Phoenix. Great food choices including vegan and vegetarian options. read more

We generally have good service. The food is always good and fresh. Waiters (like any restaurant) can sometimes be a little busy, but usually at least stop by and ask if everything is okay. On occasion it might taken several minutes after we are finished eating to get our check, but at least we are on a full stomach, LOL. Nice little place, always clean. read more

I came here last weekend and ordered the breakfast tacos, they were so good I finished all 3. I also really love that you get offered coffee first thing, and the space is so open with gorgeous natural light. Our server (I believe it was Kendra) was so friendly! Thanks for your awesome service Kendra, we'll definitely be back! read more

Just got sat down and have asked for waffle. eggs, special bacon they offer. and a special blend juice they make. Juice and bacon are each $4 add on. All seems good and real good service. Was in at 7a opening time, and customers accumulating rapidly. So all was very good. I had misunderstanding of bacon deal, but waitress kindly explained what and how she did this deal, which was actually better than my expectations. So all turned out great. Special blend juice was sure good, as waffle also, and I really did like the bacon. I'll be back. Apologies to waitress for my misunderstanding. We all good here. read more

Very sad to say, but just skip this one. Tried several times, hoping my experience was a "one time thing". But it wasn't. Quality varies so much between locations of this franchise that it is just too bad. Omelet with bacon and avocado: eggs were overcooked and tough, avocado was brown, and bacon was fine, but a part of something that just didn't do it. Toast had been sitting and so was not crisp an tasty. My wife got bacon and eggs, which was fine, but how can one mess up that, if the bacon is already good. Finally, she got 1 chocolate chip pancake which was good, as always. Tough to mess up a chocolate chip pancake, right? read more

Barbie was hands down THE best waitress! She was so attentive, ready to go with menu recommendations when we asked and had the greatest energy! The food was amazing, too and we will definitely be back (asking to sit in her section, of course)! read more

Not sure why they have the "get in line" option online. Called to see how long the wait would be since it was the weekend and I was sure it would be a bit busy. The automated voice mentioned going to their app or online to "get in line". Went to the website and it said there was a 15-20 estimated wait for a party of two. I went ahead and "got in line" and receive a text that said to please check in with host when I arrive, that I would receive a text when my table was ready, and to reply "cancel" if my plans had changed. We ran some errands and headed to the restaurant about 25 minutes later after not receiving a text. The hostess informed me that after "getting in line" on the app/website you have to personally go in and talk to a hostess before securing your spot. She explained that I would have to wait anywhere 15-20 min for a table. What is the point of the "get in line" option if you have to go in and talk to the hostess anyways? Even the hostess admitted that it was stupid. read more

Always packed. However very friendly staff. Food is consistently good! I would definitely recommend this place.

We went here for the first tome ever yesterday. We were only a party of 4 the hostess told me a 20 to 30 minute wait. We waited for 50 minutes and when I went back in to check the manager said you are next and then immediately a party larger then ya who got there after us was seated and then 10 minutes later we were called in to be seated! The icing on top of the cake was nothing was good! The food is subpar at best! No flavor, runny gravy on my dad and brothers biscuits and gravy. The eggs Benedict was gross it had no flavor and it just is not worth the price! There are so many other brunch places in the valley that are stellar! Skip this one. Updated to add screenshots of the "attempt" by whoever messaged me to fix the problem. Once again, there are so many other local brunch spots to go to. Skip this chain who clearly doesn't care! They have not responded back to me since we responded several days ago! read more

Took a while to get a table, very busy. But worth the wait. I ordered the Parma skillet hash, so delicious. This is the fourth First Watch I've been to and this one made it the best. Consistently mediocre. Service can be subpar and slow. Was good when they were the good egg before they were bought out.

I love this place for a Saturday morning breakfast. I usually get the Floridian French Toast and leave feeling quite happy. The service is exceptional and the food tastes great, hence me leaving happy. The food is priced well and I like that they send me free breakfast coupon for my Birthday. The restaurant is clean and the service is quick. Sometimes you do have to wait a bit, but they offer coffee and water for their waiting guests. You usually don't have to wait too long and it is well worth it. Great food, great service, great place to go when you want a unique delicious breakfast. Keep up the great work and see you again soon. read more

DO NOT ORDER ONLINE FOR PICKUP. Completely disorganized and mismanaged location at 35th and happy valley. GO ANYWHERE else

The food wasn't bad. My friend ordered a waffle and asked what was in the berry compote. When she found out strawberries were in it she said she couldn't have strawberries and asked to substitute the compote with fresh blueberries. The waitress said that was fine. I ordered a iced coffee with a little bit of creamer. When I got the coffee there was a little bit of coffee to the creamer. When my friend got her waffle they put the berry compote on the side on the same plate and had the person take it. She's highly allergic to straberries. Then the person said well you should have told your waitress you couldn't have it. Which we did. Over all my Benedict wasn't awful, the seasoning could have been better. The bread could have been toated longer since it was soggy. read more

Today my daughters and I went to first watch for lunch . When we first walked In " it was not a warm welcome " we waited about 15 minutes. Which was fine. When we were seated it wasn't a warm greeting! The waitress didn't even tell us her name. So I have no idea who she is. She seemed put out to help us, rushing us. It seems like she just wanted us to hurry up and leave. She brought our bill really fast with out even asking us if we needed any thing else! The food was just ok. We asked someone else for a to go box and some more water ... just a weird lunch !! I can't even remember how the food was. It just was not at very good experience ! Sad ! read more

I had been craving a stack of light fluffy pancakes for awhile. My family decided this would be the place to try but I was confounded to find that all they had was MULTI GRAIN pancakes! WTH! Any nutritionist half up to date knows NOBODY can digest that crap! I even looked at their other offerings to find that they put wheat germ on the other stuff! YUCK! Indigestible and gross! To the few who are caught up in the 'whole grain trend' that humanity spent 6 thousand of years perfecting the arts of AVOIDING-you can have your SAWDUST pancakes! GROSS! read more

I never leave reviews but after my trip to the Happy Valley location this morning, I couldn't help but rave about it. The hostess at the front was kind and helpful right when we walked in. We were seated in Jenna's section and can not wait to go back again to see her. She was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. She was even patient while I debated between a few different meals and couldn't make up my mind right away. I ended up ordering the carnitas omelet from the seasonal menu at her recommendation and I was in heaven. The girl who delivered our food (long white hair) was very friendly too. I can not wait to try more of this menu soon. I was so happy with my experience here today. Great staff, great food. So happy! read more

... many moons ago, First Watch was this homey little Breakfast joint.. now, it seems a little too hipster for me. I suppose maybe I'm not good with change seeing as how we used to frequent the I-17 location every weekend and they slowly started phasing out what made them so great. We brought our little one to this location as it's closest to home and it's just not what it used to be :/ read more

I just happen to be on that side of town last Thursday picking up a car, so I stopped in for breakfast. I had eaten at a couple of the other locations before, so I kind of knew what to expect. I was wrong. First off I wanna say Kristina is the best server I've encountered at any of the first watches that I've been to, she has to rank up there with the best servers I've had anywhere. Friendly, positive, she looked as though she was genuinely excited to be there. And she was very knowledgeable about the menu and food. Usually I just get the same old thing, eggs bacon and what not. A simple breakfast. Kristina recommended the Barbacoa tacos as they happen to be on special. Not usually my thing to be honest, but these were phenomenal to say the least. Cooked to perfection, a really great suggestion. My Buddy who was with me ordered a kale tonic so I figured what the heck, and got one too. After Kristina brought that out to me she also brought a sample of the watermelon wake up. Definitely off the charts! That'll be my go to drink next time I'm there. All in all, this was a great experience. My recommendation, try the Barbacoa tacos and the watermelon wake up and make sure it's Kristina who's at your table read more

Foods great and the bacon is amazing they call it the million dollar bacon. Prices are average for that type of resturant.

First watch is always excellent. The food is delicious the atmosphere nice and the people are always polite! You won't be disappointed!

I just love this place. This is our families first choice for a local breakfast spot. It's fresh with a good variety, avocado toast, I get the chikichanga. Then chocolate pancakes for the kids. The cofffee is always on point. BONUS: you don't want to take a five hour nap after you eat here. Definitely a notch above your average breakfast place! read more

What a good hearty breakfast 10/10 for flavor and service. Should have ordered double it was so good

I am a fan of First Watch but this location is very underwhelming when it comes to service and staffing. I have been to this spot 3-5 times and have experienced the same thing. It appears there are only 2 waiters/waitresses handling the whole restaurant during the weekday lunch time. This means those poor folks have to seat people, collect payment, and wait on everyone. I've had mistakes on my orders but the waitstaff is so slammed that they never stop back to see how my order. I think I am done frequenting this location. read more

My servers name is Amanda. She was amazing anything we asked she brought it to us within 5 minutes. I wasn't sure which drink to order so she brought all 3 drinks so that I can try. I love the food but every time I go service gets worse and worse. Staff isnt the problem they're nice but food takes forever and is cooked wrong. Last 2 times the poached eggs were legit solid as a rock inside, no runny yolk. Today was so bad they ended up comping our whole meal for 4 because we got up and started to walk out. So then they gave me a free cookbook. Good...I can make the food at home now and have it come out right. The only rzeason we started to walk out was because I had my twin 1 year olds with me....their food had come out and had all been eaten an hour ago and we still hadnt gotten our food and we were basically out of things to distract them with and they were getting fussy. And then one was made totally overcooked and I ate my entire meal while we waited for it to come back out which it didn't 15 mins later so we picked up the kids and started to leave....they come over with my friends food as we are leaving and then say theyll wrap it up and comp our check and my friend said yeah we want that cook book too so we can make the food at home and not have to come back and deal with this so they said absolutely you can have one. They were nice and handled it well but hot damn idk how I could trust going back again especially if I have my kids with me. I miss when they were the good egg. Places like that always get bought out by chains and then it all goes downhill. read more
