Found this place on our way up north and happy to stop! It's pretty busy on the morning at least when we went but the line moves quick and the baristas are moving back there! They use bottled syrup which I don't really like when they charge a lot and the prices were pretty high, but the drinks were delicious. Elevate offers options for egg-free and gluten-free options and there are vegetarian options as well. I try to change it up every time I get one. My fave drink there is an iced caramel macchiato with either soy milk, coconut milk or almond milk. I have been coming here for a few years off and on because I did not live in this area. I recently moved to Glendale and needed to stay in a nearby Hotel during a remodel. Elevate Coffee was conveniently located at Norterra. The staff here is very nice the coffee selection is good. The option of being able to order food is a bonus and they have a nice variety. There are plenty of sitting ateas inside and out to take advantage of the beautiful weather. What stood out to me were Baristas that are very clean and professional. I ordered a banana nutella crepe for my little one and a breakfast crepe with egg and cheese for myself and both were wonderful! As for the coffee, it was okay. I ordered a cappuccino and my drink order got messed up so I ended up trying a coffee drink with caramel drizzled on the top. It was a good drink, but too sweet for me. They promptly and graciously replaced the drink I had ordered. The cappuccino was good, but not the best cappuccino I have ever had. Although I no longer live in the Happy Valley area, this little coffee shop still holds a very special place in my heart. To me, this is the quintessential neighborhood spot, where you can grab a cup of Joe to-go, or just sit and sip for a while with friends. Elevate is the first place I remember having a Dirty Chai latte, and to this day, their Dirty Chai is what I compare all other Dirty Chais too. I don't know if it's the tea they're using, or their espresso blend, or even the ratio. Whatever it is ... it's a memorable drink that I crave from across the country. I always make it a point to stop for one when I'm back home visiting family in Phoenix. Elevate's service is fast and friendly, and their food is simple and tasty. I wanted to like this coffee location, after all it has a nice ambiance, roaster, and good location, but I've had several poor experiences here. Yesterday, I ordered an americano in the afternoon, and was provided a warm drink (maybe 100 degrees) which I'm not even sure how that's possible considering the boiler water from the Expresso machine should be around 195 degrees. It was so bad I tossed it and left. I was in a rush and didn't have time to replace it - Regardless it's unacceptable. They also used to carry tasty sourdough cookies with solid ingredients. So far, Cartel coffee labs, and Press Coffee are about the only shops around here with decent Expresso in my opinion. read more

We got 2 iced coffees, the elevate breakfast sandwich, croissant sandwich and 2 brownies. The espresso tasted almost burnt and bitter which didn't make the drink great. We were in a hurry heading up north and I didn't have time to ask for a remake as it was pretty busy. The sandwiches were fresh but nothing special. The brownies were the best part of the stop lol. They were thick, fudgy and good. Plenty of people love this spot so maybe we stopped in on an off day? Only reason I'm giving two stars instead of one is because the staff was really friendly. My sister and I both got coffees and both were not great. I got a breakfast sandwich and it was disgusting, and aside from that, it took literally over 20 minutes. I was unaware that it would take that long for a simple bacon egg and cheese and a coffee to go. There's tons of parking because it's in a shoping center which is great. Seating: There's indoor and outdoor seating plus a variety of table sizes. There were a lot of people working/studying so they must have a good wifi option. Coffee: Their coffee was surprisingly good ! I had the Cafe frappe and my partner had a plain cold brew. We were both really satisfied with the flavors. Plus they made our drinks pretty quickly ! Layout: The space was a bit awkward, especially around checkout where things were quite cramped. The food counter, cashier, and drink pickup were all in the same area plus a table was quite close so it was very congested (especailly as people came up to try to read the menu too). I've dropped in to Elevate Coffee several times over the years, but not as often as other places simply because I don't live quite near enough to it. But we headed over there again a couple of times recently because...well, yes, they serve good coffee...but they are actually now the nearest place to where we live that serves baked goods from Jonathan Robins Bakery--hands down the commercial bakery offering the best baked items you will find in the Valley. If you find a better pumpkin muffin or pumpkin bread, I'll eat my hat. But I'd rather eat one of the Jonathan Robins almond bear claws that Elevate sells. :-) Oh, my, you'll thank me later, especially for how well it goes with Elevate's coffee. In fact, go ahead and try any of the baked items you see in the case, and you're unlikely to be disappointed. Speaking of pumpkin, right now, you can try their pumpkin drinks. I recommend the very well-balanced pumpkin latte, which is sweet enough without being too sweet and still has a good coffee taste that some coffeehouses miss by pouring in too much syrup. My only ding regarding their drip coffee is that they dispense it from pump containers that can get grounds in it if the supply is getting low. Don't be afraid to ask them to strain the grounds out if that happens; the coffee is actually very good. The cold brew is a go-to of mine at any coffee shop, though it's a bit disappointing that Elevate charges extra if you ask for no ice in any of their cold coffee drinks. The ambience is open and light, though the place can get pretty loud when full (which it often is) because of the high ceilings. They have a lot of seating outside, though, which is super nice on a good-weather day and certainly a bit quieter. They also have live music sometimes in a designated area inside, so check with them on the current schedule if you are interested. The baristas are friendly enough, though they really could be better trained on the coffee varieties they serve. I asked about the notes of the medium and dark roasts they were serving, and they really didn't know. That's an easily corrected training issue that would kick this place up a notch among serious and semi-serious coffee drinkers who just want to know if they are about to drink something flowery or fruity versus caramelly, chocolatey, or nutty, for example. But none of the constructive criticism above is enough to affect my score, and you shouldn't hesitate to check them out! read more
