When our waiter took our order, he asked if we wanted lemons, salt and pepper etc to enjoy with our food. Being the seafood connoisseurs we are, we said yes to the lemons. We expected maybe 4-5 wedges. This man went in the back, cut up 6-7 lemons and brought it to us. (Pic shows 1 tray, we got 3 trays) we only needed a wedge each, with 3 of us enjoying seafood. Recommended by my co-worker as I'm new to the area. Very delicious food. The Hush-Puppies were so yum! I had the fish and chips and found the tartar sauce to be unique and quite good!! Love seafood so I'm always down for cajun crab boil! I'm new to AZ so I didn't know Angry Crab Shack was a well-known chain in the area and was really looking forward to trying the place out! Like most seafood shacks, they're almost ALWAYS busy. Luckily, when my friend and I got there, it wasn't a full house. The overall vibe is like every other seafood shack you go to.. looks like a ship and you can write on the poles/walls with a sharpie. We ended up getting 1lb of shrimp w/ head and 1lb snow crab-- trifecta and hot! ..as well as a side of rice & sweet potato fries! ~THE VERDICT~ FOOD: The snow crab was cooked perfectly but it seemed like the shrimp was a little overcooked to the point that the shell was harder to remove. Hot is definitely hot enough (for me) but my friend actually wanted to order the hottest level-- however, since she's an introvert, she pulled away from it because she says they usually announce it on the speaker LOL SERVICE: I feel like the services could have been improved a little as they didn't seem as attentive. We sat right next to the kitchen area and our sweet potato fries sat there for a good 15 minutes before it was given to us. My friend had even joked that she was just going to stand up and grab the fries herself HAHA The fries were a little overcooked and would have loved some sort of dip (like garlic sauce.. *hint hint*) other than ketchup. I only had the boil and it turned out to be a little salty, the flavor was yummy though and the contents of the boil were good quality and generous. It is expensive, but our waiter, Robby, makes the experience all worth it! The clam chowder was delicious and came in a big bowl with a small bread roll, would recommend this. Came here for lunch with my nephew and kids. We love seafood boils. We were greeted and seated upon entering. Our server was very nice but she did look overwhelmed. There were quite a few patrons there already. I think I only saw three people running around trying to keep up with all of the customers. The service was slow but it did look like they were under staffed. So not holding that against them, not the servers fault. Now onto the food, we ordered the family feast. It was delicious. Example appertizer missing and having to be remade or missing food from the boil bag. But on this day I ordered to go online pick up. I for one am not a big crab person, BUT this spot was pretty great. It was busy, but we were sat down pretty quickly, waitress made some great suggestions for us being there our first time. So first and foremost get you a Bacardi bucket. It's dangerously good. Has 4 or 5 different Bacardi rums in it and it goes down good, literally in a bucket. We got the family feat, had 3 different kinds of crab, 1 lobster, shrimp, sausage, corn and potatoes. This easily fed 4 adults and a 2 year old. For me one of the best crab boils I've had. We complained and the manager asked if we wanted cod and after quite a wait brought that. COD was at best average but pretty greasy. After another long wait got our bill which said she was comping $12. Only she didn't take it off the total???? I complained that why put on here comped $12 and not take off total. We love Angry Crab!!! They have a great Happy Hour and our absolute favorite is the chicken wings, their unsung hero. The best part is all the sauce options, so you can make lots of variations and flavor profiles. My goto is trifecta 2 wet and then I add buffalo on side. If you want to try any of the sauces you can, just ask your server for them in the side. It's casual and laid back vibes, not fancy-everyone's welcome. It's right next to our house, so we love to go for dinner every now and again. They do boil bags, so you can custom make your own boil bag and add on whatever additions like sausage (highly recommend) , boiled egg , veggies and more. Our fave server is Brandon, he's great. I took my 7 yr old grandson here as his Christmas present. I'd never been to this restaurant but he has and was so excited to go again! Our server, Jenn, was so personable and got everything right. The service was quick but not hurried. The food was wonderful, cooked just right and absolutely delicious. Children will love this place but so will adults. Patrons are provided with Sharpie pens so they can write on the walls and surprisingly all the messages were G rated. Crayons were also provided so we could draw on the paper covered table. Our server, Jenn, was definitely a great part of our experience. My grandson will probably always remember this Christmas gift, in part thanks to Jenn. She spoke to him as she would an adult, no dumb patronizing questions, and he felt very grown up. The prices were reasonable, the food was great, the service was wonderful. I can not believe they DO NOT HAVE OLD BAY SEASONING at the Happy Valley restaurant. What is crab without it? The people were nice but will never go there again. First and foremost don't get this restaurant confused with the long ago defunct restaurant called Joes Crab Shack. While the menu shares some of the same options these restaurants are different. So if you had a bad experience at Joes, I'd suggest you give these guys a try. This was our first time trying out this chain restaurant as the normal burger for lunch just didn't sound good or cut it. I've driven by this restaurant a few times however never stopped in until today. I'm glad we did. Beings they'd just opened a half hour before our getting there, 11am, the restaurant was pretty much empty aside a few people seated at the bar eating. We were seated promptly and left to our own trying to figure out what to have. The menu was large and on or both sides. Plus there were a couple of smaller menus for drinks from the bar and lunch specials. Our server, Victoria, was very polite, offered some suggestions of which we decided to try to eat and a bonus of them having sweet tea to drink. By the way they serve Pepsi products for soft drink's. After a what probably seemed like an eternity the wife and I decided to have the onion rings as an appetizer. They came out hot, fresh tasting and they all found a new home in our bellies. Haha. There was certainly plenty for two people to share one order. For our lunch decisions, we both decided to have the fish and chips. Or rather fish n coleslaw in both of our cases. The portions were fairly large as there were 3 pieces of cod dipped in a beer batter and fried to a great crispy outer and yet all the pieces were moist inside. They were about a half dollar sized thick. Personally I thought them to be cooked really well if not close to perfect. The tater sauce was a darker yellow then you'd expect like what you'd get from a grocery store so it peaked my interest and I asked about why the color and if it was made in house and it along with the coleslaw were. Both were surprisingly good and fair sized portions. With these meals you have the choice of 2 sides and the menu lists those choices however if you want a house side salad there is a small up charge. Totally worth the cost difference to me. My typical go to dressing of thousand island is not an option so have a backup choice if your the same. I did the vinaigrette sauce for myself. It too seemed house made. I'm an eater and like to be full when leaving the table. I went in hungry and skeptical about how lunch would go and I truly left full and even had some leftovers. Not a typical thing these days. The interior decorating is a pretty cool thing as there's writing on every wall in entirely what appears as true handwriting made by former customers. I'm not too sure if they were part of the decor before opening or if actual customers wrote on the walls. Either way it was pretty interesting to read some comments etc. The noise level was at a nice level. No shouting to talk across the table but then again we'd arrived just after they opened. While we ate and before we left there were several other customers were steadily starting to flowing in. And the main seating area around us was filling up. So the locals like the place as well it seems. It's not my norm to give a 5 star review however in this case I found it warranted and deserved. Our drinks never ran dry, our server ensured we were satisfied with our meals etc. Overall great Bathrooms were Wheelchair accessible room wise and several disability parking spaces for the disabled Pateron's. I appreciate that they have the new version of disabled parking signs. Many might not notice but the new signs show an active wheelchair user versus the old only shows a wheelchair person sitting still. Lol. A very very minor thing but for this disabled person, it actually makes me feel better showing that I'm an active person. Final bill is pictured and wasn't all that bad for the food we got. They offer a veterans discount which I didn't know nor ask until after I've paid the bill. In our case today Victoria took it upon herself to give this discount without me asking anything. Only thing left to say is enjoy your meal and try to keep from getting it all over you. lol. They've paper table covers for a reason. read more

We usually come here for the crab boil. Service was great, everyone was so nice and the server we had was on top of everything. The only down side was the fish it's self that comes with the fish and chips. It was not cooked all the way thru, the batter on the fish was still doughy I ended up just forking out the meat and eating it w out the deep fried batter. It was okay, would not recommend this specific dish. Sweet tea is not good at all it's not very sweet, i wanna say it tastes like the sweet tea from the pure leaf or Lipton brand which isn't good of all the times we've been here.
