I'm always double check your receipt. They like to add gratuity to your bill automatically. Then I mentioned to you that gratuity is included, and then you tip them again on top of it. That's a shady business practice. This is the second receipt because the first one they took and I went and asked for a copy, but they told me this is all they could give me, but on the first one they have the gratuity figured in with the total after the gratuity, so you give them your card and then you add a gratuity to it as well? So beware.!!! This has been ongoing issue with the restaurant and it's been a draft in the past and all they say is we'll take it up and tell the owner of the Feed Back. But they really don't care.! We did not finish two of the meals because they had to go to the restroom as soon as they were eating it. Maybe the oil? Or something didn't agree with them. The server was pretty good really nice kid. He did have some frustration and brought the ticket back to me saying that I messed up on the total. I did tell him that the gratuity is optional since I did tip the taiyaki chef on top of the tip that I gave him. The service was not that great if you're looking for a 20% tip in my opinion. It's OK! The service is decent, food is good but it's the logistics. The hostess makes you wait until other people are there to fill up the tepenyaki table and that's just not the best customer service in my opinion. They have renovated the space, its very nice but like always still can be very loud, so you might opt to sit in the few tables they have in the bar area. Host was very friendly and was accommodating to take a picture of me and my son in the beautiful lobby. The bad: the waitress had some off and weird energy going on. She was quite attractive and neat in appearance but . . . She came checking on our table every 30 seconds. No joke! I asked my son in humor "I think she likes you". Not sure why she would come to our table way too frequently. This is probably how George Clooney feels when he goes out. This was very strange that it was flattering at first but soon became extremely annoying. Strange, right ?!?! 2 Filipino males just enjoying sushi night and the waitress really made it weird. So please come here and eat but hopefully you don't get that kind of paparazzi in your face kind of service by the waitress. Waitress, if you are reading this: I'm married so that's a no go for me. I stopped by with the family to get some Teppanyaki because I was craving some Ah-So! The service was good and quick! The ambiance was nice and clean. I ordered the steak with rice always my go too! Cannot go wrong with this choice! It was delicious. I loooove their yum yum sauce. We also started with the Japanese Lettuce Wraps, these are also delicious! Sooo good and refreshing!! My man also got the Calamari Strips and he loved it!!! Their side salad they bring to the table before the meal is sooo good, I love the dressing. I get two salads instead of soup and salad because I love the salad that much haha!! My man got steak and shrimp for his meal and my kiddo got steak and rice for his like his momma! First let me state, this was a to go order. I loved this place. It's really nice when one can sit and watch your meal cooked in front of you. My daughter and myself always visited, eating over on side in a booth. A young woman came out finally asking if I needed help. Let me also say there may have been some language barrier. I told her I wanted lunch steak and vegetables to go. She asked if I wanted my soup and salad? Normally I paid around $20.00. The total was $42.55 . For lunch, a to go lunch?? Of course I took meal home anticipating how good it would be. I was wrong. First I hate mushrooms but because girl couldn't find what I was asking for on the menu, I forgot to request no mushrooms. Even more disappointing upon getting home and trying.....steak had no seasoning, no flavor. Veggies and rice were good. Felipe was absolutely amazing. Teppan is my favorite and Felipe did not disappoint. I had steak and scallops. This was the best scallops and fried rice I have ever had. So went for lunch, not open until 12:00. Very little handicap parking (2 spaces) already taken so had to park across the street in a main parking area. It was a long way around to get to a wheelchair ramp. Once inside, the place was wide open and probably because there were workmen there drilling fake flowers into a fake tree. Not quite sure I understand the setup but the booths we were brought to were in the screened in patio? Quite noisy with traffic passing by outside. Also we kept getting a whiff of a sewage smell! I came here with the intention of ordering off the lunch menu. I was trying my luck though because their lunch hours weren't listed. I later found out that it was only available Monday through Thursday after the host asked the manager. The day I went was a Friday and I just walked a little too much in the sun to turn around so I dined anyway. I ordered a Kirin on draft and their Ah So roll. Their draft beers aren't listed and you will have to ask. It came with a lukewarm miso soup which was honestly a good thing because there was no way I'd eat that hot during that day. The roll was definitely spicy as described. The roll was large but I was grateful because this restaurant is on the more expensive side. I think the prices are too high for this area. I've been here a couple times with family. The food, is absolutely phenomenal. The only downside is the wait time, there's no point making a reservation as it doesn't matter when you arrive, you will not be the priority. So walking in will most likely be the best chance you have. read more

Warning: I'm writing to report a severe food poisoning incident at the AHSO restaurant. On May 23, 2025, my family and I had the teppanyaki dinner with shrimp and those who had the shrimp fell ill within two hours. I reported this to the manager Byron, who assured me he would document the incident, but I have not received any follow-up. Byron mentioned they could only act if other customers reported similar issues, which is unacceptable. My family has been sick for four days with lingering symptoms. I have reported the incident to Maricopa County Environmental Services for investigation. The food, dining, and customer service have deteriorated, and I do not recommend dining here under any circumstances. read more

Went here for dinner on a Friday evening. Ah-So is a Teppanyaki and sushi spot. I will say the food itself was tasty but it took so long to receive food it was tempting to go somewhere else. To start shorty after sitting down the waitress checked in. But afterwards disappeared for a long while so when she returned I just ordered an appetizer and entree at the same time. Now this is probably related to being short staffed... But the it took about a full hour to get food. Specifically appetizers. The rest of the food did arrive pretty soon after but the pacing was just awful. Had I known it would take so long I would have just skipped an appetizer since the food got brought out almost at the same time. Onto the positive, the food was actually delicious. The scallops were well cooked and large and a good portion. The appetizer was good , just please work on bringing it out quicker. Part of me feels a bit bad to be a bit harsh with service but at the same time it was not how I wanted to be spending part of my Friday night just waiting for food.
