That was the best bacon I've ever had on a sandwich, and the ranch for the salad was runny (how I like it) and delicious. it's a little daunting going into the building if you don't work there, but it's easy to locate and seems it's not uncommon for outsiders to stop by. I've came here before so I'm finally giving this place a review. This is a very quaint mom and pop vibes deli. The menu has an assortment of hot and cold sandwiches, burgers and salads, and other snack munchies. Located within a professional office building with tons of outdoor parking, a few handicap stalls and a few shaded areas to park away from the blazing Phoenix heat. I ordered an amazing sandwich that had loads of pastrami in it. I forgot the name of it but it's one of the specialties on the menu. Food was made fresh and fast. Not too much to say about the customer service. You just kind of order and wait for your food to be made. I first came here around 2022 and I still come here every now and than. This is one of those hole in the wall places that's worth giving a try. You'd never know this place exists if you don't actually work in this professional office building. This place is small & simple. I do wish they had a larger dining area. Apart from the small space, nothing is lacking. Their food is remarkably good. I was SO pleasantly surprised. Their sandwiches offer super fresh, gorgeously healthy, leafy green lettuce. Their multigrain bread is super soft and tasty. I am not a "bread person." Normally, at other eating establishments, I just tolerate the bread my sandwich is made of ... Focusing on the other ingredients & their taste. This is different. I actually LOOK FORWARD to consuming the bread part of my sandwich, too. Even the crust is great. Their Chicago dog is fantastic and served on a huge gourmet bun. So yummy. Everything served is aesthetically pleasing. The service is always friendly. The staff wear a smile at all times, and there is no shortage of humor. This is especially nice, for people like me, who came across this restaurant by passing it whilst entering and exiting the building we each visit multiple times per week for post-car-accident recovery reasons (Innovative Injury Solutions/Innovative Pain and wellness share their building). When a person has been in chronic pain for several months, this kind of service is much appreciated. On my first visit, I ate at City Square out of convenience. Now that I have experienced much of what they have to offer, I can't leave the building after my physical therapy sessions or pain injections without stopping in for lunch. It is too good to pass up this food and eat anywhere else. I take every available opportunity to enjoy their food, and I am so grateful they are here. This is a tiny little cafe inside an office building. You'd expect so little from it, and I had trouble believing the five star reviews. But, they are all true, and here is mine. I love City Square Deli! My office is very close to this location and it's nice to have quality food in an area that only seems to have fast food places. The place is always clean and the staff is very friendly. I have had sandwiches and salads here, nothing from the grill, but food is always good. Today I got a Cobb salad and it's the perfect size with fresh quality ingredients. I always order online and pick it up to bring back to the office, but they do have some seating (not a lot) on site. I've also used them to order food for office working lunches and never had any issues. A tip for anyone going here for the first time: they are a little hard to find and there's no signage outside. This diminutive deli is located inconspicuously inside a financial center, across the hall from a bank. Luckily, one of the three dining tables was vacant, so we chose to eat-in. My bae ordered the City Square Classic, which was pretty darned tasty. Next time, I'll be getting this, and paying the up-charge for some sliced avo. I went with the french dip, which was meh. Nothing special, a tad underwhelming, wont order it again. They had an array of baked goodies available for purchase. We went with a dark and crisp chocolate chip cookie which she gave a thumbs up to... adding that it would have been even better with walnuts. My coworkers and I frequent this place since it is fairly close to our office. At least once a week. I've only ordered sandwiches and burgers from them. I'd stay away from the burgers. That was a one-time deal for me. My boss ended up only eating a quarter of his burger and I took my patty out since I still had mushrooms and cheese in my bread. Otherwise, the sandwiches are safe. They also have oatmeal raisin cookies that are soft baked and awesome. There are about 5 indoor tables and 3 outdoor ones. It can get crowded depending on what time you go, but lucky for me, I can get mine to go and eat back at the office if there are too many people here. This deli is located on the ground floor of the Deer Valley Financial Center on the northeast corner of 19th Ave. and Willians Drive. There are no signs on the outside of the building, so don't drive by thinking that the address is not correct. Think treasure hunt. This deli is a top-notch eatery that caters to established customers and businesses within the complex. It's also open to the public and definitely worthwhile for a stop to calm the growling stomach. We both had the City Square Classic - Turkey, Ham, Bacon, American cheese, Lettuce, Tomato and Mayo on Toasted Sour Dough or Plain Wrap for $8.50 and it was made fresh, was an ample sized serving and it was delicious. The business closes at 3pm, but the hot grill closes at 2:00 pm. They serve breakfasts ranging from a simple bagel to a full-sized (4 egg) omelette. They have an ample lunch menu of hot and cold sandwiches, salads, soups and desserts. They also advertise deliveries through Grub Hub, call in orders and catering. There is no dining in due to Covid, but there are tables and chairs outside the business but inside the building and there are three large tables outdoors. We've only two more weeks here before we head home, but we will certainly return a few times before leaving -- it's that good!! read more

Doing Sandwiches Right Today, we went to City Square Deli and Grill for lunch, and it was absolutely delicious. I've had many sandwiches from all over the valley and the folks at City Square are doing up sandwiches right. Lookout, AJ's Whole Foods, Jimmy Johns, Quiznos, Capriottis, and all the others; City Square is here. We really enjoyed our first visit to City Square. The menu has plenty of options, fillled with high quality meats, for the meat-eaters and a large selection of vegetarian options, if meat isn't your thing. All of the breads are made fresh and you can tell with your first bite. The sourdough was absolutely delicious, soft, crispy, everything that sourdough should be. I can't wait to try some of the other bread options on my next visit. The staff at City Square were incredibly friendly, helpful, and accomdating. If your in the area give City Square a try. I have had this place saved on yelp to try for the longest time... Today I finally got to put my taste buds to the test!! We ordered a bulk order to be delivered to my work for lunch. Their online ordering system makes it's super easy to place your order online and set a delivery time. Tons of options on the menu to satisfy everyone! This made it great for everyone in the office to pick a variety of things. I got the strawberry avocado salad with raspberry vinaigrette and a cup of chili. All the ingredients were so fresh! The romaine lettuce was crisp and washed, the strawberries were sliced fresh, and the avocado was bright green and perfectly ripe. The dressing was very delicious as well and the salad was a great size. The chili had great flavor! If I had to be picky I would say maybe it could come with a small side of cheese to sprinkle on top but other than that it was good and they supplied crackers to crush on top. What a great surprise! I was hungry and a few minutes early for a doctor appointment and spotted this little deli. I had a Reuben, which was great. Very reasonably priced. Believe the hype, this place has got it going on. I found them with the Yelp app while searching for something that wasn't a chain near my office in Happy Valley. With a rating like this, how could I go wrong? As I went inside, I got what the others are saying about the size. I ordered the above-mentioned soup and a half pastrami reuben. I was advised that the soup was pretty spicy, and upon informing that I was from Texas, I was asked if I wanted some fried, crispy jalapeno chips on top of the soup (yes, please). My order was delivered to my table (one of three, count'em) and I dug in. The soup definitely had a pleasing heat, but not too much so. It was very creamy and delicious, with a good cheddar taste and crunch from the topping. The sandwich was served on marbled rye, nicely toasted, with a good balance of meat, dressing, kraut, and Swiss cheese. All of the ingredients were fresh and delicious, the meats were tender and juicy, and the kraut had a nice crunch and "zing". I bought the Chicken Caesar Wrap and I have to say that I am incredibly disappointed. First off, like many typical small sandwich shops, the owners have decided that they will include a tip line on their receipts. I wish this would go away for takeout restaurants. I hate feeling pressure to pay more for literally no benefit to me. Why do they feel that is is appropriate to ask for more money when I am literally just picking up a single item to go? As far as the food goes, man. Just meh. $10 for a wrap made with unseasoned Sysco chicken breast strips, romaine lettuce, bulk parmesan cheese, and caesar dressing from your local cash and carry wrapped in a green colored tortilla. The first bite was a watery bunch of lettuce with the flavorless chicken adding some chew. The second bite was a three way fight between the chicken and my molars and my tastebuds. Thankfully, my molars managed to complete the job in record time, overcoming the temptation to simply evacuate from the beaches and try again at Normandy. Unfortunately, bites 3-8 were simply repeats of the aforementioned experience. I came here for lunch today for the first time, I was immediately greeted by a few friendly women, a man took my order which I found standoffish or overwhelmed but not friendly. I ordered the steak and cheese with potato salad. It took a little longer than I thought it would, and when I arrived I was the only one there but it filled up fast like literally within a couple mins and their phone was blowing up so you can tell they do get very busy. I really liked my sandwich it was flavorful tasted fresh I loved the bread, and the potato salad I also enjoyed. I will definitely come back to try more out, I had to get change from the bank next door and I asked a woman what she thought of it and she said there hasn't been anything she hasn't liked from there. We checked out yelp reviews for a place to grab a quick breakfast this morning and city Square Deli & Grill popped up. We were intrigued by the 100+ 5 star reviews so we decided we had to check it out. The first thing we noticed was just how reasonable the prices were for the amount of food that you were getting. We had eggs, hashbrowns, sausage, sourdough toast and pancakes. Everything was quality and delicious. The thing we enjoyed the most was the fantastic attention to detail and customer service. Brian went out of his way to make sure that our satisfaction was not only met but exceeded. Now mind you this is a little deli tucked in the front door and office building. We couldn't imagine the great experience that would be waiting in this level of establishment. It was really good!
