I just wanted to take a moment to shout out this Denny's location and the amazing team here. I come in pretty often, and at this point they already know my order--coffee and breakfast ready to go. That kind of consistency and attention really means a lot. Jennifer, Lavessa, Mikki, and Karin are always so welcoming, and even when it's a different crew, they still take great care of me and know exactly what I like. The food is always on point, and the service makes it even better. This has become my go-to spot to relax after studying in the morning or to grab breakfast before starting my day. Stopped by Denny's super early morning for a cup of coffee pre-hike- and discovered we were there in time for the early bird special-so figured we'd grab a cheap breakfast Exactly what I expected--nothing fancy, but it did the job. I went with the grand slam deal, which was a pretty good value for the price: two pancakes, two eggs, and a side of bacon or sausage, which was cheaper to order then just a small pancake stack- The pancakes were warm and fluffy. Can't speak to the sausage or eggs, as I passed them off to my husband. Service was okay--staff was polite and gave me some extra coffee creamers to take on the road. The restaurant was pretty quiet at the time, which was nice, but it had that typical diner vibe: bright, a little dated, and not much atmosphere beyond basic functionality. I've been a regular at this Denny's for four years, and the ONLY reason I keep coming back is my waitress Denise (Gertrude) She's professional, kind, and always provides me and my family excellent service. I have a regular table at this location under her morning service one to two times weekly. It's a shame how much abuse she takes from rude other locals she deserves respect and recognition, not mistreatment. A bunch of rude elderly men. Also, that front door bell is beyond annoying. 10/1/24 - At first I was pleased but ended up paying over $50 for 2 people. What I found out later is the server was upselling all over the place! The fried jalepeno for my wife I figured was extra, $1.25, but the cheese she said came with my scrambled eggs was also $1.25. I didn't ask for it. She said it came with it. Also, I'm sure the pancakes were an upsell. I got a Lumberjack Slam, and my wife got a T-Bone steak breakfast. The meals alone were basically $17 each. I got an OJ and a water and my wife a coffee and a water. Somehow a possible $38 amount turned into $44. Of course I had to add tip so was $52. Fifty-two dollars? At a Denny's? Ridiculous. Came here for a pickup order. Arrive and tell them my name and they hand me a bag with a completely different name on it. I tell them the orders wrong and they show me a receipt with a scribble on it stating they gave my order to someone else, and to check with the app cause there's nothing they can do. I then have to reorder my food, and instead of it being rushed I have to wait and see multiple other people pick up their orders before I can get mine. All and all, was greatly disappointed in the service. Please check the orders and ask people to see the order on the app before giving them other peoples food. read more

The Denny's on Deer Valley is a friendly, welcoming restaurant. The menu is great and service is outstanding. Kelsey was a big help. I was there to get a meal replaced due to a manager's incompetence. So, I spoke to Stephanie (another manager) and she was awesome in fixing the situation. Tonight, Kelsey took care of us. She was on top of everything. Drinks always full, checked on us a number of times, made sure my food was good before she left the table. She was great! As of this review (7/31/23), Denny's was featuring a bacon inspired items. I ordered a bacon label slam and my crony ordered bacon loaded pancakes. It's important to note that our orders contained the exact same items. The only difference is that the bacon was cooked into my friend's pancakes but mine were on the side. The odd thing is that my order had more bacon, but yet his cost more money than mine. I got to try out a green smoothie. The food quality and service were both above average. Our total bill for two came out to $41.29 (includes tax and tip). read more

This is by far the BEST DENNYS IN PHOENIX!!! All the other dennys do not compare to this one. Doesn't matter what server you get they are all amazing!! Everyone of them brings great things to the team there. The management is always out front working with all the employees and helping out wherever needed. The cooks are all experienced, food comes out quick and hot and delicious every time I've been here. My family dines in here about once a week!! Since my first order from this Denny's was so good we decided to order two additional times. Four days ago I ordered exactly the same thing as my previous review order. While it was still qugood, the quality was better the first time. My review for this time is for my order last night. Last night we ordered two double y pancake breakfasts. The food quality was the poorest of the three times we have ordered, which lets me know that maybe nighttime is not the best time to order breakfast at this location. for some reason they put the fruit on top of the hot pancakes which just made the strawberries kinda hot and the bananas mushy. All the previous two times, we were given the fruit on the side in a container which I prefer. There was not as much fruit as the previous two times either, in fact on one of the orders there was only about 3/4 of one strawberry if you put the 3 slivers together. We improvised by cutting up a banana that we already had at home and using that to eat with the breakfast. The hashbrowns were up it on the oily side for some reason and the cheese on it was about the same quality as the second time we ordered this. So it was just OK. It was not of the stellar quality that we had when we ordered the morning that we did on the first review I made of this recently. The eggs with cheese on them we're pretty good, but not as good as the first time. The bacon was not good quality. It was a bit on the salty side this time as well. There was one slice of bacon I could see through. I suppose with ordering breakfast you win some and you lose some. The valuable lesson that I learned is to order breakfast from this location in the morning time during the week. Because that first time that we ordered it was during breakfast time and the breakfast was fantastic! All of us were raving about how good the food was. While this was far from being terrible, it could have been a lot better. read more

We walked out after waiting 45 minutes, to then be told our food was just being started and would be 8-10 minutes more. Only go here for take out. That is the only service they are interested in. When we walked in to an almost empty restaurant, all 3 servers were working on take out orders. Obviously they want to be a take out only.
