We stopped at this Waffle House around 10pm on a Friday. It was actually a delightful experience. We were seated immediately and quickly greeted by our server Denise. We sat at the bar area and were able to watch our food being made. It's been about five years since I have been to Waffle House and we are so back. I'm very picky with eggs and these were cooked perfectly. The waffle also did not let me down. I ordered my waffle with chocolate chips and it came out chocolatey as ever, hot, and fluffy. Waffle House on w deer valley Rd was a great! We enjoyed our meal, the service and the atmosphere. We went on a Sunday around noon and it was crowded. We decided to sit at the bar. Our server Bree (who was fantastic btw), she knew the menu perfectly and did an amazing job taking care of us! She was attentive, had a smile and gave the environment a more uplifting touch! We loved Bree! The food at this location was so good! Everything was cooked right and we didn't run into any issues! I ordered a coffee which was great! The atmosphere was fun and energetic. They did have accessible parking and a few ramps. The bathrooms had bars and were very spacious. The atmosphere was a bit loud for those who may be sensitive to loud noises. The doors are not automatic to either the entrance or the bathrooms. At this location they have booths, tables, and a bar to sit at. I love Waffle House. You know what to expect and I've always had excellent service at any WH I've been to around the country. The menu is simple and you can customize anything. This location was clean and we were in and out in under an hour on a weekend morning. I love my hashbrowns smothered, covered and diced. Never go wrong when you want a waffle as well. The service here is consistently great, especially from Alysha. Bree was our server today, and she was great. I got the $13.50 All-Star Special with scrambled eggs (do yourself a favor and get cheese in those for an extra $1), crispy hash browns, raisin toast, two chicken sausage patties (no extra charge for this!) and a chocolate waffle. Everything came out hot and fresh, and they even held the waffle until the end when I was ready for it. Today was a slower day, so the employees were busy cleaning tables and floors and restocking condiment bottles. The seating inside is classic diner seating, and there's ample parking outside. I'll just say I had a bad experience back then and felt the food was too greasy at the time so was I hesitant about eating here during a recent trip to phoenix? Yes. But was I starving and looking for sustenance? Absolutely! I was greeted with smiles and seated immediately here. I ordered a grits and sausage breakfast bowl that was devoured swiftly (I'm always starving after my flights) and I really enjoyed it. There's truly nothing better than having breakfast freshly made and delivered steaming hot to you with a smile. I went to college in TN so the Waffle House holds a lot of nostalgia for me. My closest friend and I started meeting for a monthly breakfast at this location several months ago, and we thoroughly and completely enjoy every visit. I look forward to it! Very unsettling experience tonight. Employees acted like it was an anything goes environment with little regard for basic standards of behavior and service. The majority of my meal there was loud irritating rap blaring from an employee cell phone. Employees were openly consuming open beverages in cooking area. Loud discussion of stripper industry and drug dealing by waitress for entire meal was the only thing I heard for a good twenty minutes. I was never asked if I needed anything, including a refill. **Permission was given to bring dog in, that I was forced to be extremely close to as I was leaving cramped entry area, and it was a very substantial pit bull.** As I exited guy was smoking right into front door, impossible to avoid and I am allergic to it. Lot of liability being taken on my WH at this location, and I have zero desire to go back. I've gone to Waffle Houses my entire life and tonight was a shameful nightmare of an experience. 20 dollars for a sandwich drink and hashbrowns is bad enough. Don't go with so much expectations and definitely don't go by name. They do have some variations of waffles but not like ever ending menu. American diner which opens 24*7 so you can hop in anytime. COVID IMPACTED - I've been eating at Waffle House literally my entire life. This is the first time I have ever been made to wait for a table, even with more than half of the tables completely empty. The staff seemed very overwhelmed. There was a line cook, a manager cooking, and 4 servers. The staff seemed rude, which was a total let down. We ordered using their new limited menu, which stated that they are understaffed. I ordered a chicken melt with double hash browns scattered, smothered and covered cooked well. What I received was a hamburger patty melt with a chicken breast added. I also got hash browns scattered. When I shared that with the server, she simply said, "I'll take a dollar off"??? My wife's order was incorrect, as well but she chose to not say a word. It dawned on us that our server most likely didn't get it incorrect. As a token of our gratitude, we tipped her 100% of the bill. We were grateful to have been able to taste a little bit of "Georgia home" living out west. Seems like I've been going to the Waffle House my whole life. My biggest memory is spending all nighters studying and listening to all the conversations and meeting extremely interesting people. That being said, I love those hash browns. I also love the scrambled eggs with cheese and hamburgers with the mayonnaise. Staffing this place are really cool and don't believe any of the media about it's a bad area under that crap because it's all good and friendly. Just remember get those hash browns I like them scattered and cats with mushrooms but they're also other varieties.
