I love Waffle House. I actually hadn't been to a Waffle House since 2007 outside of Dallas, TX. During our family emergency vacay to Arizona we had the pleasure of dining her for a Midday brunch. We had an emotionally draining trip up to this point and really needed a pick me up. We walked right in from the heat and Delacy was absolutely delightful! Hands down the worst experience at any restaurant ever for us! Where to start....... There's a bum they allowed into the men's room for his personal hygiene. Ordered All-Star breakfast: eggs, bacon light, hash browns jalapeños n onions, raisin toast, and waffle. It was Christmas Eve and we had been driving around looking at lights when everyone in the car was hungry. We decided to go to Denny's. We stood at the host stand for 10 minutes without a single nod. Customers were coming up to us telling us they waited over an hour for their food. There were 2 servers, 3 cooks and a manager and about 30 customers. We left. Waffle House is literally next door. None of us had been to one in over a decade. We decided to give it a try. OMG the service was simply AMAZING, the food was DELICIOUS and the price was perfect! Tiny small place we came to this morning for breakfast. It has the local diner feel and food was average with nothing special nor bad about it. Service was average, and our server was very kind, smiling sincerely and friendly. Our waffles were delayed and we had to remind her about it after our meals, and she mentioned that 2 of the waffle makers were. Token, therefore it was taking time to prepare. Myself and one of my cousins ordered the all star special, and my other cousin ordered steak & eggs. Given the name, I had high expectations for their waffles and was VERY disappointed. I called and asked if they had chicken and waffles and they said yes, this was my first time ordering from a Waffle House, and placed a takeout order. When I picked up my order and got home, the waffle was very slim, no waffle texture, and honestly a McDonalds pancake flavor. Now for the chicken, it was a thin chicken breast that was smashed on the skillet, and heavily seasoned with salt, not the fried chicken I expected. Although they weren't wrong in telling me that they had chicken and waffles, I had a different expectation for it and was very sad in what I received. When you tell me you've got the original sweet cream waffle, well- I expect you to beat every other waffle place I've been. Unfortunately, the Waffle House didn't deliver on that. But, the food wasn't horrible. I'd give their waffles a step up from Denny's & IHOP. And maybe it was the fact that we were at one of their smaller chain restaurants, but the seating capacity was so very limited. The booths only sit 2 people and parties larger than that have to sit at the counter (and even then the counter only seats about 4). Other than that, our server Linda was super sweet and very attentive. She was older which may have added to her kind demeanor. Her name tag says she's been working here for 16 years! I was just recently at store #1345 location I had an incident with the waitress at this location,So I went to pay for my food and I asked the waitress how to let a $5 or more dollar tip and she goes off and says that's not even 5% was your food ok? I stated yes it was ok and she walks off with and attitude!! Mind you I just spent $70 plus dollars and was planning to tip more!!! First time EVER at this iconic place called WAFFLE HOUSE! I was pleasantly surprised! It was very clean. The food was fresh, fast, and tasted great. We were seated right away on a Sat morning around 9:15. Being right by the cooking area I had the advantage to see that the food is fresh! The eggs are from, EGGS! The bacon is cooked fresh from raw! That is so refreshing to see these days. And even though this was all frying not that far away from us, I didn't feel like I was getting greasy. Stopped in Friday night, ordered waffles, they brought my sons to the table , burnt, but saiid mine was too burnt to serve so they had to make me a new one, which they finally brought, almost raw. We tried to eat them but could tell something was wrong, went to pay the check, the waitress asked how everything was, we tooled her, and she looked at the full plates and said sorry, still charged full price, and we spent all weekend with horrible food poisoning . When you think Waffle House you think the waffles have to be delicious at the very least. The place is named after the delicious breakfast food. Well you'd be wrong. My friend and I both ordered the 2 egg plate, I got pain hashbrowns my friend had cheese on hers. The cheese is the Kraft cheese slice most of us grew up making grilled cheese out of. I had a side of sausage that was pretty cold and she had bacon. Everything was bland. Then the waffle it wasn't cooked all the way and was soggy underneath the side touching the plate. It was doughy in texture like it needed a few more minutes. The waitress though was spot on. Making sure we had everything we needed. Terrible service waited over a half hour for my take out order of scrambled eggs and bacon which was sitting at the grill waiting to for the counter crew to get their act together imagine it's cold but who wants to wait another 20 minutes to have them screw it up again. When you have a 24-hour diner that serves up some cheap breakfast in good sized portions, you can't help but like it. ESPECIALLY, considering they have some AMAZINGLY good grits! Prices vary depending on the state you're in, for obvious reasons, but the food is generally consistent. Took my family here for breakfast New Year's day and it was great. It was packed and we have a family of 5 so we had to wait like 10 minutes but well worth it. We all got the 2 egg breakfast combo that includes a waffle. You can't beat it, food is good and the combo is like $8 or $9 a person. I have been to a total of one Waffle House that was decent. This particular location follows more of the norm, being dirty and with low standards expected out of the employees. The food is standard, including waffles and things involving texas toast. The double patty melt on texas toast is what i get on the few occasions that I do visit this place. The staff was especially funny. They had very loud conversations with one another while my dining partner and I were trying to get down our greasy, yet expected, meal. I then got to watch every employee examine a regular's new tattoo. I learned that tattoo's are supposed to be deep and have straight lines, what a concept. I wouldn't not come here, especially considering that there are hardly any food places open past midnight in this area, but I wouldn't come here by choice. read more

I being of the drunk variety tend to wander in for a waffle in the wee hours of the morning when I'm not in the mood for a grand slam or a monster taco- if you know what I'm saying. Usually, I get the company of some colorful people and a belly full of waffle, but one night I got a little more. My friends and I decided to grab a booth near the windows and as I slid onto the bench my hand touched something wet. I immediately pulled it back expecting to find food on the seat. When I looked down at my hand it wasn't any sort of waffle excrement between my fingers, it was human excrement- a big ol' loogie. Yes, someone spat on the seat and not just a little, I couldn't create that monster with an upper respiratory infection. I just want the culprit to know- I hate you. I flippin love Waffle House. Would you believe that in two different cities in Georgia that I lived in there were two waffle houses across the street from each other? Seriously! Like you could go to one Waffle House and look out the window and wave to patrons in the other Waffle House across the street! In at least two cities that I know of! That is because Waffle House is not a restaurant in Georgia - it is a way of life. Like some people are catholic, I worship at the House of Waffle.
