We went here for breakfast and were really impressed by the service and quality of their food. There was a line out the door when we came on a Sunday around 10am but luckily we didn't have to wait long and were seated pretty quickly since there were only two of us. Ordered the kale tonic and that was pretty good. The Chicken pesto bowl was flavorful but the portion was a little disappointingly small. We stopped here after some early morning Christmas shopping. There was a 10 minute wait but it moved quick! We were seated and the server took our drink order and gave us time to review the menu. We were able to go to Forst Watch today. I won a gift card during summer school for my contributions to summer school , very kind and sweet to be recognized. We are actually very familiar with Forst Watch, my husbands first cousin worked there for many years at the original location on I 17. This was our first time at this location, we were able to watch them build this one everyday on the way to work at Sunburst. Super cute location. Decorated so cute inside and kept super clean and bright, inviting. We ordered Salmon Eggs Benedict with breakfast potatoes, Farmers Veggie Skillet and the Lemon Blueberry Cornbread and Blackberry Tea. Amber was great and took the best care of us. We didn't need to ask for refills, she was always ready with drinks and courtesy. She is great, everyone was. Friendly and welcoming. Fun Brunch date and fun to try a new location. read more

There are so many great breakfast restaurants around Phoenix, though when it comes to First Watch, I have learned it is a chain of breakfast restaurants that is consistent, offers great food, and has some wonderful deals here and there. While I typically frequent other First Watch locations, I stopped by this location for brunch today with a colleague as the location is just across from the ASU West Valley Campus, and my colleague was craving First Watch. This was my first time visiting this location. First Watch serves breakfast, brunch, and lunch. They have a Jump Start menu with unique dishes along with a juice bar, iced coffee, breakfast cocktails, healthier side dishes, EGG-sclusives, omelettes & frittatas, from the griddle items, power bowls, salads, sandwiches, a kids' menu, and small plates and sides. My colleague ordered the Avocado Toast (thick-cut whole grain artisan toast, fresh smashed avocado, EVOO, lemon and Maldon sea salt with two basted cage-free eggs), and I ordered the Farmhouse Hash (2 cage-free eggs atop fresh, seasoned potatoes, bacon, avocado, house-roasted onions and tomatoes, Cheddar and Monterey Jack and served with whole grain artisan toast). I chose to have my eggs scrambled, and I had the avocado on the side to give to my colleague. The entire dish was tasty, and the toast complemented the meal well. I checked in using the app though it wasn't necessary as there was no wait. We were immediately seated and served rather quickly with a short wait until the meals were served. Stopped in for a quick breakfast then it was very enjoyable. The eggs were not dry Which is my major pet peeve when getting scrambled eggs. They were cooked to perfection. The turkey sausage links I highly recommend is they are very fresh and very good and had no Frozen taste in them. Came on a Monday afternoon for brunch and overall a pleasant experience. I ordered one of the fall special menu items, the honey chipotle chicken hash. I also ordered a side of multigrain toast. While all the food was delicious, I have some issues. The hash had 1150 cal in it, and I have zero understanding as to how this could be the case. When I ordered the toast, I assumed that I would get two pieces cut in half, but I got one piece of bread, that was cut in half and buttered, barely toasted. When our food came out originally, the toast did not come with it. I asked the gal who dropped our food off for the toast, and she gave me an attitude and said this doesn't come with toast. And I responded with, yes, I know, but I ordered a side of toast. She brought it back and nearly slammed it on the table. I don't think she was having a good day. That single slice of toast was $2.95. Well, I understand that food costs are growing, that is kind of outrageous. The hash was really good, but I cannot believe the amount of calories. read more

First Watch has an extensive menu selection and even a seasonal special menu. I went for brunch on a Sunday around 9am and easily got a seat without waiting but noticed shortly after that it really filled up and by the time I left people were waiting for tables. Service was excellent and our waitress was very attentive. The ambiance was good and bustling. The only reason for three stars was the selections we had were average, there could be other really great things on the menu. The lemon blueberry cornbread looked really good but I didn't get it. I got the market hash and my mom had the French toast. Both were good but not great. I do appreciate that they had real maple syrup but you had to pay extra. Bloody Mary was also average. Not spicy enough for me, I had to add hot sauce and salt. Overall it was a good breakfast but not a memorable one. read more

Worst experience ever at First Watch, I initially walked in expecting have a short wait and the hostess let me know that there was a seat open at the bar so I proceeded to sit down there was an open spot that I seen so I sat down. Shortly after sitting a large man in glasses very upset told me to move and told me that him and his wife were sitting there. When it's 1st come 1st served why wouldn't his wife have sat down if that was the case? He proceeded to return just to tell me once again to move which I did not respond and I didn't want to escalate the situation I was clearly embarrassed by him talking down to me like I was his child so I got up and left. No one said anything and I really think your staff should have said something. That's really shitty of your staff to just stare and act like nothing happened. read more

We split the market hash, veggies egg and multigrain toast, the BEC (bacon, egg, cheese) breakfast sando served with a greens salad, and AM superfoods, a bowl of coconut chia pudding, topped with fruit and granola and served with toast and nut butter. I'm not very impressed with the customer service at this First Watch on Thunderbird and 43rd Avenue. It seems that either management struggles to find quality waitstaff or isn't hiring the right people. I eat breakfast every day and live right across the street, so I could easily be one of their most loyal customers. I've visited about eight times since it opened, hoping the service would improve, but nothing has changed. I genuinely hope they succeed and stay in business--the reviews aren't terrible, but they're far from great. Just because this location is small doesn't mean it can't be better. I'd still rather drive to Over Easy, U.S. Egg, or even Denny's than walk across the street to eat here. For first responders or military members, Denny's offers a better selection with a 15% discount, and U.S. Egg along Bell Road serves higher-quality food with a discount as well. I've been to the ASU campus First Watch, and their staff and atmosphere are much better, with friendlier service and a stronger team dynamic. If management here addressed staffing and service issues, I'd happily support them as a daily customer. read more

I had passed by this place many times. So wanted to give it a chance. Forgive me if I seem to ramble. I want to give you as much of my impressions as possible. First off, get there before 8am. Another place, miles away and years ago. I got my meal with its potatoes and I was pleasantly surprised. They had mixed onions in with the potatoes! Needed a bit more onions, but I only know one other place that did that and I love it! I wish more places did that. My meal was good. I was checked on. All in all, very good. The music was just loud enough but you could still have a decent conversation if you want. Now the nit picking. My cushion seat was NOT comfortable. Bring a pillow. The water glass is small. I guess thats why they bring you a craft of water. Coffee could be better, but then I'm used to Folgers so who am I to judge. The sugar packets were those small tubes. Ok, all in all, a good meal. Nice atmosphere. Good service. This would be a great place for a party between 2-5. The food is good as I said and reasonably priced for organic, sustainability, or whatever you want to call it. I like that they have a bar, it gives it a diner feel but modern with a lot of light and bright. My son got the French toast, hubby got the biscuits and gravy, my daughter got the steak egg hash. No complaints from the kiddos. My hubby said the potatoes were very salty, he didn't finish them. My son said he loved it, it's one of his favorite breakfast places to add to his list. So, I went here a few weeks ago with my daughter and neice. I got the ultimate breakfast sandwich, it was good. The egg was runny and the bacon was crispy. The kids got French toast and a Monterey sandwich with tomato basil soup. They both liked their meals. I tasted the soup and it was hot and yummy. I got the purple haze drink and it's so good my daughter ordered one too. What really made our experience was our waitress. It was a packed house and she handled it like a pro. She was helpful and kind. She offered up-sells casually but also excellent suggestions. Even though she was busy on a Sunday morning, she was on top of service... poured my coffee and checked in on us with a smile. Other people brought some food and she brought some. Our drinks were full, our food was good. She made us feel welcomed to be there and welcomed us back. Her great vibe made the experience special. I even mentioned it to the people at the front. Today, I went back on a Saturday at about 11am. It was less busy this time. it was a whole different experience with both service and food. Our waitress was not good. We could barely hear her. It is a loud restaurant. She kinda trailed off and mumbled as she spoke. She offered upsells to every item in a way that made me feel like I was buying a used car. She seemed really uninterested in being there from the get go. Definitely no food suggestions or friendly exchange (which would be a bonus and not mandatory but the lack of was noticeable). She totally forgot to bring one of the drinks and we had to ask again after the food came. I ordered coffee, she said none was brewed. When she eventually brought it, she just set a carafe down on the table and left, but didn't pour any coffee. Other people brought all of our food. When she came back by to check on us it was a quick mumble and walk away. She did bring one drink refill, but it was late in the game. At the end, she brought us some boxes and looked pissed or agitated to be there. It takes a lot for me to be put off by servers. I know it's a hard job and there can be a lot going on that, I as a customer, can't see, but this service was pretty dismal and made the experience way less enjoyable. The food this time was not as good either. We got another purple haze drink, and the mix was different. The one we got previously had about a half inch of purple on the top and did the cool color change thing as you stirred. This time it looked like it had maybe a tablespoon of purple and didn't do the color change. It tasted ok, but the continuity was lacking. One kiddo got some pancakes, they looked good and he enjoyed them. The other kiddo got a potato hash. It looked good. The bread looked good.She said it was ok tasting. Her eggs were cooked right. My husband had initiated the trip with a craving for eggs Benedict. The eggs were both over cooked and not runny at all... it upset his stomach and made him feel like he needed the restroom. I got the roast beef sandwich and cheddar broccoli soup. The soup was ok, but obviously canned, which is sad for the price and being the soup of the day. The roast beef was on good bread with cheese toasted onto it, which was cool. The arugula was good. The horseradish sauce was sweet and I did not like it at all. The beef was really (extraordinarily) cheap roast beef and was a little, tiny pile of it in one corner of the sandwich. Even when I spread it out, I'd didn't cover the bread. The menu said the sandwich came with tomatoes. When it came, it was oily, jarred tomatoes. They were gross and it scraped them off. There was as much tomato as there was roast beef. The arugula was good and plentiful. Honestly it was more of an arugula sandwich because there was more of it than the beef or tomato. It would have been more yummy with just the bread and arugula and leave off the super cheap beef and oily tomatoes. The servers that dropped off our food were super friendly, bubbly even. I wish we had gotten one of them. The water they bring tasted like tap water with no filter. The cups and silverware looked like their dishwasher needed maintenance or cleaning. More than just water spotty. I'm not into sending stuff back unless it's completely inedible or not what I ordered, so I just ate my meal, but a lot of our conversation was about the service being weird and the food being below average and how we should have gone somewhere else. That makes it so much less fun to go out to eat. Our food was about $80 for four of us, Honestly, I don't think I'll go back. read more

Came in on a Saturday morning, waited about 15 mins to get in, and it was definitely worth it. I had the barbacoa bowl which was amazing, had a ton of flavors and a little spice. It was pretty chill and relaxed inside, and our waitress was great about our drinks and making sure we were taken care of. The only thing I didn't like was that the tables are very close and I could hear the conversations next to us like we were eating with them. I will say we come here quite often and every previous experience has been pleasant, the service good, the food tasting well. Today, just felt like the pendulum decided to swing the other direction. Breakfast service was subpar, felt like we were being rushed, forgotten requests, chips of glass in our water cups. Top it all off, we didn't have smaller bills come time to pay, and this individual (no name, but has shorter, wavy, slightly red-hued dyed highlights in her hair, with glasses, and on the middle-aged spectrum) manning the register at this time, had the audacity to look annoyed as she pulled bills out of the register rather curtly, handed over with a "Here," no further eye contact, and then just walked away.
