I will say we come here quite often and every previous experience has been pleasant, the service good, the food tasting well. Today, just felt like the pendulum decided to swing the other direction. Breakfast service was subpar, felt like we were being rushed, forgotten requests, chips of glass in our water cups. Top it all off, we didn't have smaller bills come time to pay, and this individual (no name, but has shorter, wavy, slightly red-hued dyed highlights in her hair, with glasses, and on the middle-aged spectrum) manning the register at this time, had the audacity to look annoyed as she pulled bills out of the register rather curtly, handed over with a "Here," no further eye contact, and then just walked away. This place is amazing. It's our favorite breakfast restaurant. Not only the food is delicious, but the quality of the food is great too. Service is always amazing. The service here was very amiable. I tried out their Monterey club and kale tonic. First off, the kale tonic was way too sweet. I expected it to taste more like kale. But it tasted like apple juice with sugar and a hint of kale in it. The Monterey Club was delicious. The food is pretty good, but not mind-blowing. It is hard to rate the food because it was served at room temperature. My multigrain pancake was not warm enough to melt the butter on top. Our bacon was also not served with our meal. We were told after several minutes that they were out of bacon. (How does a breakfast restaurant run out of bacon?) With all of that we were given ham as a substitute at no cost (delicious). The food was tasty. Just not hot enough I will probably try again but I am only in Phoenix for a week. Might be next visit. read more

I ordered avocado toast ~ it came out with hot eggs and ice cold bread and avocado- putting hot eggs over cold bread and avocado made the eggs cold and it ruined breakfast for me. The server wasn't overly interested, so I simply asked for a piece of warm toast to try and make it better, but that didn't work. yuk. read more

For me it's the food that is always slightly disappointing. This time I got the healthy turkey omelet, which sounded delicious. I cut into it and immediately knew it wasn't going to be great. As soon as it opened, all the dry loose ingredients fell out of it. Nothing was holding it together, no moisture, nothing. The eggs were overcooked. The onions inside were good, the turkey and cheese were very dry. The toast and jam were the most enjoyable things on the plate. As always, my daughter enjoyed her avocado toast. Amazing healthy options that actually taste great! Had an omelet with roasted vegetables that was superb. Love that they have healthy side options and they don't have any fillers with eggs. I went there with a friend at 8:00am on Saturday. We were seated right away. We ordered coffee and they leave the carafe at the table. I like that. My friend ordered the traditional breakfast and I ordered eggs Benedict. I orders came and were not hot. I didn't care for the hollandaise sauce. I think I would give it another try but order something else. read more

This place is new in the area so I waited a bit to try it. I came in around 815am it wasn't busy. The staff seemed friendly and nice. I ordered the inspired Italian omelet and my son had the power wrap. My dish came out and it was terrible. I cut into the omelet and the amount of veggies it had made my plate watery. The omelet was bland and did not taste good. The potatoes weren't good either, they were hard and some were burnt. My son's power wrap according to him was just ok. The tortilla was soggy. First and foremost our server was very nice. The problem was the food. We had 3 meals; 1 was ice cold, 1 was barely warm and the other burning hot and All 3 were bland. When we checked out we were asked how the meal was and we told them not good and the guy just shook his head and said ok, so we repeated our answer again and got the same, he didn't even look up. Clearly he wasn't listening at all that alone made me leave 1 star. So the 3 meals 2 coffees and the juice was $76 not including tip. Overpriced for sure especially with the food being cold and the guy upfront who pretended to care about our experience. read more

First off the restaurant is really nice, the space was well lit and had plenty of seating. We came in when it was starting to pick up around 9am. We got greeted fairly quickly by our server Jasmine. Got 2 drinks, she got our order right after our drinks. We did not see her til well after our food came which was wrong. I had already eaten majority of my food. My boyfriend's order was messed up. Got the order remade which took a while. Each time she would disappear and go to her other tables but avoid eye contact w ours. We kept asking other servers to get her for us because the honey crunch iced coffee came out way too sweet, there was so much caramel. We wanted water&syrup. She forgot our syrup 3X's. She kept saying sorry each time she forgot then finally after I finished eating she brought the syrup. She dropped off our check saying"anything else let me know, no rush"all while facing her back towards us and didn't make eye contact and walked in the opposite direction. She was attentive to other tables and kept disappearing to help them. We wanted boxes to go by that time she was no where to be found again. So we left, upset at how unattentive our server was and how everything was messed up and food came out inconsistently. Potatoes were to salty. I liked the biscuits and gravy and the eggs. We also enjoyed the French toast. Probably won't be trying this place again, it could use some improvement with service and the way they make iced coffee for being a breakfast/brunch place. read more

So very disappointed. I have been going to FW locations around the valley and this was by far the worst meal. I got a takeout of the new seasonal hash. As I was walking out I noticed the bag felt so light I had to check to see if they forgot to put my food in. The meal was very tiny sitting lonely in the middle of the container. I went back to the restaurant and the hostess offered to add more potatoes. I had to rush back to work and was starving so I decided to just eat what I got and not to ever go to that branch again. The sunny seul hash for $17 ended up being a tiny bit of severely oversalted potatoes with occasional bits of sweet peppers or something like that. It was barely edible. On my way back to work I stopped back at that FW to let them know how absolutely atrocious the meal was and the manager assured me they are refunding me for it. Why am I not surprised that a month later I never got my money back. read more

Not impressed, not much of a verity on menu , was wanting a hamburger for lunch , this place being a breakfast and lunch only restaurant they don't serve hamburgers or fries then to top it off granddaughter ordered a juice drink was half full when we were getting ready to leave waitress asked if she wanted a to go for her juice , got a to go drink and find out they charged for the to go drink so ended up pay 11.00 for glass of juice. I must say, I'm disappointed.. I usually go to the union-hills location but thought I'd give this one a try since it's closer. Well that was a mistake, first; they have their seasonal selection, but for whatever reason you cannot order the churros, and that is for every location, second; they messed up a very simple ordered kids meal, they left out the fruit and they did not put the right side of bacon that i ordered, third; the place was packed and the waitress didn't even shoo the homeless man away that was making the guests feel uncomfortable. Forth; they make it editable on the menu to request a special order for the coffees, I.e. almond milk, but when I went to pick up the order it was informed that this is a premade drink. Overall this was the worst experience I've had with first watch. read more

We were happy to see this location open near us. Went on a Saturday morning and it did not disappoint. First, it looks and feels great! Everyone was friendly and on their game. Love this new First Watch on 43rd Ave! Bright and airy, farmhouse modern look. Food was so delish and healthy! It was presented beautifully on an artsy square plate. I especially liked the artisan bread and homemade strawberry jelly! The blackberry iced tea was refreshing on a burning hot day. Our server, Nickolas, was friendly and took good care of us. Gotta say the place was busy busy, so try for off times and weekdays to avoid the crowd. We will definitely be back! read more
