They have croffles on the menu (a kind of croissant / waffle hybrid) and they are delectable! My husband and I got the Dubai chocolate croffle and it was beautifully presented (sorry I didn't take a picture to post). It was crunchy, sweet, creamy inside with a beautiful pistachio and chocolate drizzle. A piece of dessert heaven! I had a "Hot pistachio" to drink. A pistachio latte on steroids with actual pieces of pistachios in the drink! The decor is beautiful. It has a modern feel and it feels like you are sitting in a cafe in Dubai with smooth jazz in the background. My husband and I will return many times over....too many good desserts to try, pleasant atmosphere and staff!!! Can't wait to come back!

The staff was welcoming, patient, and went through popular items over the menu with me. I ordered the Strawberry Matcha Latte with oat milk substituted in place of the standard milk, hoping it would create a creamier and slightly sweeter flavor profile. Unfortunately, the drink did not meet my expectations. Instead of tasting balanced and refreshing, it leaned more sour than sweet, and the creaminess from the oat milk was not very noticeable. Despite the drink being disappointing, I still enjoyed the atmosphere and overall vibe of the cafe. I've heard great things about their coffee from others, so I'd be willing to return and give the cafe another try in hopes of a better experience next time. Large Strawberry Matcha Latte ~ $ 11.64

If I could give a place 10*s, Lux has more than earned the title…read more Cool space coffee shops are definitely a thing in Phoenix lately--but Lux was the "design-genius-with-a-latte-machine" long before coffee shops were even a thing here. I've been frequenting this architectural marvel for over 10 years. While so many new shops try to mimic this vibe, none of them are Lux. Lux is King! The 11-Year Flashback: I looked back at my review from 11 years ago when I docked them a star for the "nightmare parking." Back then, I was a "to-go" only person who never envisioned myself as a laptop-hipster hanging out. Well, times change! I'm bumping them up to 5 stars now. Maybe it's the new competition nearby or my better timing, but the parking is a breeze, and I've officially embraced the "comfy chair" lifestyle. The "Cheers" Factor: What really sets this place apart is the people. After a decade of visits, it truly feels like Cheers--where everybody knows my name! Getting to know the folks behind the counter makes every visit feel like coming home. The Sip of the Night: I shifted from my usual plain Cappuccino as my target drink to include in a review to feature their Espresso Martini. I went with a Reposado base instead of the typical vodka, and it was stellar. With two full bars in addition to the coffee and pastry bar, craft drinks truly abound here! (Note: they have an amazing cappuccino too) The Comfort Classics: You cannot leave without the food. My go-to favorites? The Tomato Soup with Grilled Cheese and the legendary Chocolate Chip or Red Velvet cookies. Return Factor: 100% I've been coming here for a decade, and it's still the gold standard. As I said in my review 11 years ago: "I see a book, comfy chair and cocktail in my future! Stumble home... Repeat." Still true today! #PHXCoffeeShopTour #1CupAtATime #LuxCentral #PhoenixOriginal #EspressoMartini #FlashbackReview

I recently had to be in the downtown Glendale area - the Yelp machine recommended I hit up Blue Corn Cafe. There's some development / construction in the downtown area so parking is a little limited. However - I was able to snag a spot right along 58th Ave and get a good view of all the cute shops to check out at a later date. Blue Corn was surprisingly busy that morning due to hosting a Coffee with Cops event. I got the low down from a few of the GPD staff that they are consistently rated as one of the best cafes in the city, maybe even the West Valley. They have recently-ish opened up a second location in DT Mesa, which definitely fits their vibe. I was told the owner gets up early every day to bake - I love the dedication to his craft. Like many mom and pops, there are times when quantities are limited. So ofc I had to buy some baked goods to go for my work team! Their muffins are HUGE - like 2 -3 servings per *singular* muffin. I didn't know what I was getting into when I bought 6... hello carb heaven for us. I noticed a lot of sweet and savory options - croissant sandwiches, cookies, you name it. Definitely the muffins were well-enjoyed by all (PSL, lemon-blueberry, red velvet), and the general consensus was lemon blueberry as the winner. It's a small space with not a lot of seating options however there appears to be a back patio that might be shared with other restaurants. I couldn't get a view on my way out. Cannot wait for the next time that I'm in the area to grab more sweets!
