Another hidden Gem. The place was Packed!!!!! It's unassuming from the location. Inside is like a clean and comfortable old school diner. I would be comfortable dining alone. There was a big lunch crowd. But, there seemed to be room for everyone . The staff were so nice! Our food was great. We ordered pizza-salad combo and fettuccine porcini . They were very accommodating with our food restrictions and our server knew the menu inside and out, which helped immensely in ordering. Definitely coming back.... Even just for take out! read more

We ate there last night, which was a monday. We sat at the bar. Our bartender Shay was great and her drinks were well balanced and so tasty. Her service and drinks 5 star. I had the Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo, my dining partner had spaghetti and we took home a dish to go that we dropped off to our son that was lasagna, ravioli and Rigatoni. The food tasted really good but unfortunately all 3 of us got violently ill. We are positive it was the food because we don't live together for it to have been a bug. We ate our food in the restaurant from 5-6 pm. We got sick after midnight. Our son ate his food after he got off work at 6 am this morning and he is now getting sick, same symptoms, both ends. This is our favorite place to go for dinner and we're here 3-4 times a month. It's wonderful to see familiar faces, both staff and frequently guests as well. It has such a warm neighborhood vibe and the food is top notch. It's not gourmet, it's just really delicious and well made and you can tell it's made with love. I love the gnocchi (it's made by hand the way my old Italian boss used to do it) but I am not a fan of pink sauce in general so I get it with their amazing meat sauce. My husband frequently gets the salmon with creamy piccata sauce and sautéed spinach and loves it. Unfortunately, their pizza has absolutely ruined all other pizza for us, so we get it often as an appetizer and bring the rest home. There's just something about the cheese they use that sends it over the top because it's so buttery, though the crust is also excellent. Crunchy crispy on the outside with a good chew, and I never usually eat the crust edges but I do here. The only dessert I've had is the crème brûlée and I want to tell you not to order it. I say that because they tend to run out and I want it all to myself! The service is the best. It's not gourmet service, it's the kind of service you get in a busy family neighborhood place. Servers are always on the ball, hustling around taking care of everyone and making them feel welcome. If I had to choose one restaurant to eat at from now on, it would be this place without a doubt! read more

What a yummy home feel Italian restaurant. Definitely has a NYC feel from the minute you walk in. The atmosphere is casual and just the right size of booths, tables and a very impressive bar area. Onto the food. The Ceasars salad was not overwhelmed with dressing and allowed the lettuce and croutons do the flavor work. Then, the New Zeland mussels in a white garlic sauce were awesome. So much flavor and a very nice portion size. I got full halfway through eating my meatballs so got a box to go. They are so fresh with the fresh mozzarella and sauce with veggies. When Times Square was on Union Hills, it was a favorite, so we decided to try the Deer Valley version. We were not disappointed. It's not very big and the décor is not very memorable, but the food is. My chicken was moist and delicious. My husband's seafood was varied and tasted fresh. There is a lengthy menu, and portions are large (I took home half) . Watching the steaming plates come out of the kitchen gave us ideas of what to order on our next visit. It was loud. It was busy. The staff is nice, Online menu is a tad bit deceiving with the pictures of their pizzas. We ordered a Gf= gluten free Buffalo Chicken Pizza for pick up 10'. It came with two types of cheese and just the buffalo chicken. Not a big deal considering when I looked back at the menu it did just say the 3 items but here's the interesting part when ordering online there is a picture next to the buffalo chicken pizza and it just doesn't reflect the menu. Why???? This place has been in business for along time they have to know their online menu w pics isn't accurate. I am sure, I am not the first one to notice. Also, when looking at the pizza it looked like the crust and cheese was cooked first then the chicken was added on top. I added a brownie when i got there to pick up. It was dry and very much over cooked. I asked the guy at the counter ringing up my order how were they? He lied. He should of just said usually good or even not sure today Ive been busy. Instead of just a sell considering it was only $4.50. The pizza was better once I added a few ingredients from my frig! celery, red onions, and bacon. Ordering online was easy. Food is really good. We used to go to the 7th St and Union Hills location for brunch. We both got different pastas. One pesto the other lemon butter cream sauce with seafood. Both we're delicious. Eat what you can there. Leftovers aren't quite the same, so go with an appetite. We'll definitely be back. read more

This is not a quiet restaurant; in true Italian style there are families all talking at the same time, laughter, dishes clanking, and servers running around taking great care of the customers. We shared the linguini principessa and the Italian platter. The linguini was excellent, I am salivating just thinking of it. The Italian platter was good and was a great way to try a few different pastas. We also shared the cream brule and the bread pudding. This is one of those "Mom & Pop" restaurants that is frequented by all manner of snowbirds and local retirees. That's not necessarily a bad thing though, especially because it means they keep coming back, and for good reason! Normally when I'm craving Italian i'll look around to see price and portion size. If the portions are huge, i'll keep looking because I know that means the quality of the food is usually garbage level at best. This place though, is an exception. They have plenty of options (the fettuccine della casa is my favorite!) as well as classic favorites. Keep in mind that although they do have a full bar and a large kitchen, the overall space is limited. During peak hours it's going to get busy. Very, very busy so be prepared to say "excuse me, pardon me" and you push your way past the crowd to get to your table. Overall, the ambiance is definitely something that reminds me of the mid-90's. Especially the way my mother had our kitchen decorated back then. The nostalgia hits hard, but who needs to update decor when the food can speak for itself?! As a side note, this is one of those places that hires a lot of local high school teens trying to make extra money. They are all super nice, but this is a first job for a lot of them, so please be nice, remember to tip, and don't be afraid to ask for something twice if they forget your refill the first time. read more

I have been frequenting this restaurant for the last 10+ years. I know most servers and managers. The servers are amazing. Kristi, Char, Shay, Grace, Luke, Logan, Mack, Theresa and more. The management, not so much. Specifically Eileen. She always has an attitude, angry face, and acts like she doesn't want to be there. Since we are (were) regulars, everyone knows we will only sit at a table. I had family in town and this is (was) a place we always recommend. However, the other night the 4 of us walked in and were greeted by a newer hostess. There was a 4 top and 2 top pushed together with no one seated. Eileen walked around this table for 10 minutes while she was waiting for a booth to clear out. Eileen knew we wanted a table as usual, but refused us to sit there. Her words "I've many parties of 6 and you can't sit at a booth." After waiting for her for 15 minutes and telling us we couldn't have an empty table, we walked out. We dine here and we love the food so that isn't the issue. We come back for it frequently. However, the service this time was very unprofessional and quite rude. Our server was named Teresa. First of all, she forgot about us apparently and we weren't greeted for about 20 minutes. No water no hello. We probably sat down around 1:03 and didn't get acknowledged until after 1:20 because when she finally greeted us i asked if there was any way they could squeeze out one last breakfast item for my brother even though they stop serving at 1pm and she said "no we stopped at 1" and I proceeded to say really? Even though we've been sat for a while there's no way? And she said "well no you definitely haven't been sitting here since before 1" which in my opinion is incredibly rude seeing as though she'd left us sitting for at the very least 15 minutes or more without a greet. You'd think she'd want to make up for that in any way she could right? Nope. Anyways the really disappointing thing is that we also heard her talking poorly about our table to another server right behind us. It's sad that she had to talk badly about us in order to save her own a** from the fact that she was so late to even acknowledging us. She also charged us for a garlic cheese bread appetizer that we never ordered or received. We dine here a lot and i hope we don't have her as our server again. The food here is expensive for the quality and portions you get and the service is hit or miss. The restaurant decor is kind of like an old time diner, so it was surprising to see mostly expensive Italian dishes for the lunch menu. The location is also not very fancy as it's right next to a Castle sex shop. We've been to this location a few months ago and the service was fine, but the most recent visit left a bad taste and we wont go back because of it. Our waitress this time was an older woman and she was nice and attentive at the beginning, making sure we had drink refills and even boxed up our food herself, which I thought was a nice touch. However, she was perhaps a little too comfortable with our table because she later complained to us about working long hours and inserted herself into our conversations on more than one occasion. At one point, she told our table "I think all teens should join the armed forces after they graduate" and it was completely unprompted. Giving 2 stars instead of 1 because I realize prices are going up just about everywhere, but the experience with the server is the main reason we wont come back to this location. read more
